Got back late last night from our trip to Karmina! This was our third stay at the property over twenty plus years. The most spectacular thing about the Karmina, in my opinion, would be the gorgeous grounds and the spectacular pools. They make for a very lovely setting. We rested so well! The rooms are lovely and spacious. Very quiet restful time in Karmina. Exactly what we needed! Our maid in room # 4006 was excellent. Overall, I would give the experience a 3.8. The food is good I wouldn't say spectacular. But it is also reflective of the price of the resort. It is a very reasonable amount of money for beautiful accommodations, food and beverages. The ala carte restaurants are quite nice. Not much guacamole this trip. It was only served in the Mexican Ala Carte restaurant and then pretty sparingly. My hunch is that it is expensive. Loved the salmon lox at breakfast with the beautiful array of fruits and veggies to start the day. As always, we are returning filled with gratitude for the lovely Mexican people that served us so beautifully! Thank you Karmina!

Overall we found the resort to be quite nice. The rooms were spacious and had great view of the ocean and the pools. The food was ok and most nights they only had one a la carte restaurant open as the resort was not busy. We did find it difficult to communicate as there was not a lot of English speaking staff but we managed to get things figured out. The one downfall of the resort is at the beach and the pools there are only lounge chairs. We wished they had some sitting chairs for the beach and the pool areas. We did find the odd staff member would let us take a chair from the outdoor show to sit on and we always took the chair back at the end of the day. Overall we were happy and would return.

We enjoyed our two week stay at the Barcelo, the food was hit and miss, the premier room was large and had a great view. We were disappointed that you are not able to quickly go to the large beach, the gate is locked and the stairs are in disrepair...

We enjoyed our two week stay at the Barcelo, the food was hit and miss, the premier room was large and had a great view. We were disappointed that you are not able to quickly go to the large beach, the gate is locked and the stairs are in disrepair (plus there is a sign warning of crocodiles). Therefore we had to walk back to the main street, and down to the Kiosko past the walmart, which is a good distance already. The Manzanillo airport is so clean, very impressed!

We stayed at the Karmina last February for 9 days and loved it. We (2 couples) had the two bedroom premium suite with splash pool, very roomy inside and outside with lots of deck space. From Barbara (best check in ever) at premium check in and throughout our stay, all was fabulous. My favourite restaurant is the Agave Mexican restaurant, for the food and the location. The staff are attentive and very pleasant, makes it easy to just enjoy yourself. We are returning this February for 2 weeks and can’t wait to do it all over again!

Great location. Great rooms when you upgrade to premium. Very few staff speak English. Everything thing is great except the food. Like the Barcello in San Jose del Cabo (since closed) food is inconsistent. Specialty restaurants are hit and miss. Had 2 of 6 meals that were great. 4 were...

Great location. Great rooms when you upgrade to premium. Very few staff speak English. Everything thing is great except the food. Like the Barcello in San Jose del Cabo (since closed) food is inconsistent. Specialty restaurants are hit and miss. Had 2 of 6 meals that were great. 4 were awful. Buffet is nothing special. Sorry but can't do Barcello again.
