We had stayed in a villa with another couple of. (106). It had an outdoor shower which was lovely. The decorum was amazing there as well. The website and pics do not do it justice. It is much nicer. We elected to do the food drink package for convenience. The staff totally spoils you with kindness and personality as well. The manager France was always available for questions, our dinner server Kedisiah was soooo friendly and conversational with us. We still miss her!!! One of us caught a 24 hour bug and the chef had made him an unbelievable chicken soup so he would feel better. . A security guard also escorted me one evening to get medication so I would have no issues. Breakfast was amazing as well. Fresh fruit juices, home made yogurt, omelets, salmon, even the coffee was amazing. All tables are outside just a stones throw from the ocean. There were plenty of shaded chairs with cute iguanas walking around. It is a smaller family owned place that surprisingly surpassed the Marriott nearby. We had a Bloody Mary and they used fresh spices and juices. Delicious!! Highly recommend

Awful experience for us with Baoase... don't trust Baoase with any meaningful trips. If something goes wrong, even if it's their fault, Baoase will leave you out in the cold. TL;DR, Baoase overbooked us on an important and personally meaningful trip, then offered us nothing to compensate for what happened or our additional costs. I couldn't believe this was the hotel everyone raved about. Details: the Baoase website was super glitchy, so we booked through the Chase Reserve concierge instead. After we'd booked our flights, arranged childcare and booked those flights, the hotel told us they'd overbooked our $1,300/night Honeymoon suite and offered to put us in a Loft Room (huge downgrade) and give us the difference in price as a resort credit. When we tried to get Chase involved, they offered us an additional $200 resort credit to compensate but gave us the runaround, saying "it's not our fault". This was a very personally meaningful trip to us, so we said we'd prefer to rebook to different dates. The hotel responded that in that case, they accepted absolutely no responsibility for the overbooking (which I hardly believe given our ill-fated attempts to book through Baoase) and they would offer us absolutely nothing, even though we would incur fees to change our flights, childcare flights, and go through the ringer to move this trip. I had been so excited to visit Baoase, and I wish I'd listened more to reviews saying that they can be stingy and overcharge. The magic is completely gone from this resort. Given how much they pride themselves on guest experience, to leave us out in the cold with no choices but to either take a huge downgrade in room or incur lots of additional costs to rebook with no compensation feels awful.

Pros: 1. Food was delicious, fresh, and highly nutritious. Broad selection of proteins and lots of fresh fruit/vegetables. A piece of fresh fruit was also delivered to the room each day. 2. The fitness center was exceptional. Lots of free weights, squat racks, rower, ski erg, kettle bells, dumbbells up to 40kg, pull-up bar, treadmill, and stationary bike. Staff at the fitness center was also extremely welcoming and nice. 3. The beach was private and consists of a inlet with multiple exits around a small island that go out to the open ocean. You can borrow snorkeling equipment from the resort. The area around the central island in the beach has a beautiful reef with lots of fish to look at (you need to go on to the open ocean side to see the reef) 4. The room was beautiful. The outdoor garden area attached to our "superior beach front suite" was our favorite part. 5. Staff was helpful in arranging diving adventures Cons: 1. The service was average at best. If you are used to being anywhere where staff makes you feel "special" or goes out of their way to make you feel pampered, this resort will leave you feeling disappointed. While the other resorts we have stayed at in the past (Jamacia, St. Lucia, Maldives) assigned us a dedicated "butler" or staff member who would often arrange fun things such as a bubble bath, fresh flowers, a sweet treat, or even just coming to check to see how the stay is going, this was not the case here. You are given a Whatsapp number you can text if you want something arranged/a drink etc. They are responsive to texts. However, we never experienced any unsolicited efforts to make our stay more special. This may also just be cultural/customary to Curaçao. Additionally, when we ordered breakfast or lunch to the room, without exception, the food arrived 10-30 minutes late and was frequently cold by the time it arrived. The orders were also almost universally missing an item. At the beach there are buttons you can hit if you would like to order a drink or a snack. However, we often had to push the button 2-3 times and wait 20-30 minutes before a staff member would come. 2. The wifi is extremely slow to the point of being unusable. If you are planning to make video calls to family I recommend that you plan to pay for a international SIM card or use your carrier's international plan while you are here. 3. Baoase is not a secluded resort. It is nestled right in a neighborhood/community. This means you will occasionally hear traffic/city noise, soccer games, etc. The only time this became a true issue was at night. On two occasions during our stay the beach adjacent to the resort held a party/rave with loud music/booming bass until 2am in the morning. The resort does provide you ear plugs but the level of noise made these minimally effective. 4. The staff around the resort is not terribly warm/welcoming. They generally do not say hello/greet you or say anything as you walk past. They also do not make any effort to know your name or where you are staying. Again, this may simply be cultural or a possible language barrier but is distinctly different from all other resorts to which we have been.

The Baoase hotel offers a stunning and pristine environment, complemented by its exceptional cleanliness and beautiful, peaceful surroundings. We felt welcomed from the moment we arrived. The staff are truly amazing—attentive, friendly, and dedicated to ensuring a comfortable stay for all guests. The ambiance and aesthetics of the property create a serene and relaxing atmosphere, perfect for a Caribbean getaway. The food was amazing, the quality and creativity were exceptional! The cocktails and wine selections were also fantastic. The chefs and cooking staff clearly are experts and created masterful meals. With this being said, meals were notably expensive. On some nights, we wished that there were casual dining options rather than a larger, sit down meal. Hopefully this is something that could be offered in the future. We did not purchase the meal plan as we would have only utilized one meal on the day of arrival. In addition, the holiday specialty dining nights were not included in the meal plan so we would have been paying twice for some dinners. During breakfast, we were asked if we would be dining at the resort for lunch and dinner. There seemed to be a little bit of pressure to dine at the restaurants on the property rather than go out. The dining atmosphere is romantic and serene. As someone who needs to drink a lot of water during the day, we were only provided with two free bottles of water daily; additional water needed to be purchased. We wished that a carafe of ice water could have been available while at the beach rather than having to continually consume bottled water. As a result of needing to drink a lot of water, we purchased water from a grocery store. The texting system via What’s App was very useful and a great customer service tool. We utilized it several times during our stay. The fresh fruit was a real treat and something that we looked forward to daily. There were definitely more children at the resort than we expected, this could have been because of the time of year. However, it was special to stay at the resort during the holiday season, the decorations were beautiful. Upon leaving the resort, review the bill carefully to ensure no extra charges are added. I was surprised I did not receive a final bill via email nor a customer service survey. No mechanism to provide feedback was provided. We had an exceptional time during our stay and would definitely return in spite of some of the hiccups we experienced during our stay.

There was some construction going on that we were unaware of, which complicated things a bit, but the manager France and her team helped us work things out immediately. Shout out to Lisa, Kay and Melvin for their exceptional service! If you are looking for a true high end boutique resort with great service and out of this world food, we highly recommend Baoase for your next vacation. We’ll definitely be going back!

I have very little to add that hasn’t already been said- Baoase deserves all the recognition it has received. My husband and I stayed for 4 nights for our honeymoon. This is truly a luxury resort where the staff waits on you hand and foot. We found the staff to be warm, friendly, and helpful. They gave great recommendations and helped with everything from a car rentals to dinner reservations. Some great things I wanted to mention that were not in recent reviews: - The quiet, private beach is UNMATCHED. The ample plush lounge chairs, beach service, soft beach towels, and cabanas were exceptional. My husband and I snorkeled around the lagoon every day we were there and saw a TON of wildlife. -The all inclusive is probably worth it- I wish we had done it. The Fruits de Mer dinner is not to be missed!!! The food and drinks are exceptional for a resort, and it was so nice to have access to a menu and bar at all hours of the day. This is a resort that you can stay at for your entire trip if you wanted to. It is such a beautiful country and culture though- please explore the island!!!! - We did the West Side Snorkel Tour (I wish I remembered the guides name!! I feel terrible) and it was excellent. He was funny, taught us so much about the island’s history, and somehow managed to avoid large tourist groups as we beach hopped. Along the way he treated us to delicious local treats (arepitas, fresh coconuts, banana cake). It was a great way for us to see many of the popular sights. A couple of cons, but both minor- My husband was frustrated that our honeymoon suite was over the bar and we had a generator or some kind of AC unit constantly running and exhausting on our patio. Next time we would stay in one of the larger rooms or villas. I surprised to see many children at the resort- it didn’t necessarily affect our experience but there was definitely children running around on the beach. We didn’t appreciate that it wasn’t a couples-only resort but that won’t deter us from rebooking. It would be hard to go back to Curacao and not stay at Baoase. It was an unforgettable luxury experience!!!!!

My stay at Baoase Luxury Resort in Curaçao was truly memorable. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by a warm team of friendly hosts who made us feel at home. The lush landscaping surrounding the property creates a tranquil and enchanting atmosphere. The main beach was pristine, offering the perfect relaxing spot to soak up the warm weather. The staff was consistently charming and attentive, making our stay feel both welcoming and pampered. Our Superior Beachfront Pool Suite was impeccably designed, seamlessly blending luxury and comfort, with thoughtful touches like daily turn-down service adding to the experience. However, one significant drawback was the view from our villa. Although we booked the Superior Beachfront Pool Suite, advertised as offering privacy, a private plunge pool, and a small private beach, our expectations were impacted by construction. We were notified eight days before arrival about the construction, but upon arriving, we realized the view from our villa faced an active construction site with workers, which compromised our privacy. The manager, Franco, was invaluable in addressing our concerns and made a sincere effort to find alternative accommodations, though the resort was fully booked. We really appreciate the discount provided as compensation, but the experience left room for improvement. Additionally, consistency in housekeeping could have been improved. On some days, housekeeping came automatically; on others, we had to request it, and one day it was done at bedtime. The mini-bar was also not refilled, and while we didn’t request replenishment, this seemed inconsistent with the level of service expected. These minor lapses, while not major, could be areas for enhancement. That said, the overall experience at Baoase was elevated by the genuinely friendly staff and the world-class food. Every meal we enjoyed was exquisite, comparable to dining experiences from top chefs worldwide. Despite the setbacks, I would recommend this property, albeit with caution regarding potential construction disruptions.

This was the best resort we've stayed at in the Caribbean thus far. From the moment we arrived to when we (sadly) departed, we received five star-level service. We stayed in the Colonial room, one of the smaller rooms on the property, but it was perfect for what we needed and beautifully crafted. You have to plan at least one day beach-side, where you get top-notch butler service. The cocktails are exquisite, but the culinary kitchen - it's on another level compared to other resorts. We also liked that the property overall was intimate, making it feel like your own private getaway. We can't wait to go back!

We recently stayed at Baoase for our honeymoon, and this place exceeded our already high expectations based on the reviews and pictures. We knew we were getting luxury, but the atmosphere they’ve managed to create at Baoase is indescribable. Everything is so meticulously thought out and you feel like you’re in another magical world. The Staff & Service The staff is so friendly and accommodating, and there is always someone there to help at a moments notice, whether it be a drink refill or maintenance issue. There are buttons at each beach canopy that you can press for the beach butlers to bring you whatever you’d like to drink/eat. You can message the Baoase team on whatsapp for anything you need - a reservation, taxi, more towels, etc - and they’re always so quick and happy to respond! The servers at the restaurant are so incredible - kind, quick, and accommodating! They worked so seamlessly behind the scenes, but I know there must be an incredible amount of effort put in to create this experience for guests. The Food The food is just as others have described it - Michelin star experience and so much more than just food. We loved every single meal and tried so many new and inventive dishes. I was worried that since it’s fine dining, we wouldn’t be full because of the smaller portion sizes, but this couldn’t be further from the truth. Every meal comes with multiple amuses before your starter and meal, and we were comfortably stuffed the entire trip. Throughout the day on the beach, butlers come around with small bites to eat which was such a fun touch. We also did all of the themed dinner nights which blew us away - Indian, Fruits de mer, Italian, barbecue, and Asian nights. The usual dinner menu was incredible but it was so fun to mix it up. Lastly, we did the all inclusive meal plan and this was easily worth the cost. There are a few items on the menu that are upcharges with the meal plan, but that was never a problem for us and we would’ve spent so much more money if we hadn’t done the all inclusive. Also, when you think of all inclusive, you normally think watered down/sugary drinks and average food. This could not be further from the reality at Baoase. High end, quality, and all inclusive? What more could you ask for. The Accomodations We stayed in a garden view honeymoon suite. The rooms are so well thought out and equipped with everything you could ever need, and house keeping is so meticulous. We weren’t expecting all of the incredible technology in the rooms - from the automatic curtains, hidden TV at the foot of the bed, the high end closet and soft close doors, iPad with a sound system throughout the room, motion activated lighting, the list goes on. The rooms are also kept perfectly chilly, which was perfect after a full day in the Curacao heat. The Beach If you’re looking for a long walkable beach with a large wake, this is not the vibe. But what it is, in my opinion, is so much better. The cove is like an ocean pool. You still get the sound of small waves, but the water is calm and clear, and you can float all day without being worried about floating out to sea. We never had to struggle to find a beach chair, and there are so many scenic and beautiful spots to pick. They provide snorkeling gear and floats, and we truly never wanted to do anything but hangout here. The Extra Experiences We took advantage of the spa twice for massages and they were so incredible. 10/10. We didn’t end up doing any extra excursions as originally planned, but honestly I think it’s because we loved being at the resort so much. I have no doubt if we did request them, the Baoase team would’ve coordinated them flawlessly. A Few Tips There are lots of sneaky mosquitos so be prepared for that! They do offer some spray, but we ran out quickly. Not a deal breaker in any sense, but just a heads up for future travelers! Lastly - if you decide on the all inclusive meal plan, I’d say skip on the romance enhancement with the private dinner. While it was stunning, the usual service is just as great and we didn’t feel we needed it. The Verdict An incredible, intimate, romantic, luxurious, and delicious paradise that really felt like the pinnacle of relaxation. We’ve already begun planning for a second trip here and we haven’t even left Curacao yet! Could not recommend any more, and will probably be telling everyone we know about this place for years to come. Thank you to everyone at Baoase for making it a magical honeymoon!

A beautiful property on a lovely island. We drove down an unimpressive city street, parked, and entered through the large wooden door into a lush tropical property. It is beautifully maintained, the service was exceptional, the staff incredibly friendly and helpful. Our room (the Bayan) was large, very comfortable, and everything worked fine. Our personal outdoor shower and tub were awesome. The hotel sits on a rocky shoreline, but a large lagoon has been created for very pleasant swimming, and even some snorkeling. Everything is first-class. There were always plenty of lounges, towels, free snorkeling and diving equipment, drinks available, and I'm sure many other things that guests want. The bartenders were great fun, and made scrumptious tropical drinks. The only small disappointment was the restaurant, which we thought was good, but below the quality of the Hotel. The wine list was OK, but very expensive, even taking into account shipping and storage challenges. Our first night was seafood night, and our meals were rescued by fresh Caribbean lobsters, of which there were only a few available. It was perfectly prepared, and rather expensive, but worth it. Other dishes didn't impress. Our second night was Italian Night, and we thought the pasta dishes were mediocre. The next two nights we ate in fine restaurants in town. Don't hesitate to drive in Curacao. Parking at the hotel is free and very convenient, rental cars cheap, and driving as easy as in the U.S. There are virtually no motorbikes - a curse on some Islands. Curacao is an affluent place, and everyone has a car. Be sure to drive (or take a taxi) down to the old town near the large floating bridge. It is fascinating, and the old, colorful buildings are a feast for the eyes. We drove around the entire Island, and there were a variety of sightseeing stops, and fine beaches on the west end. All in all, a first rate place.

From the moment you step into Baoase the warm smiles and tropical surroundings create an atmosphere making it hard to leave. A private, quiet beach, surrounded by palms, Michelin level cuisine, Balinese style suites with private pool and great ocean views - this is a very special place for the experienced traveler or someone who knows how to relax and allows time to stand still. Don't tell anyone about it - I want to be able to get a room there again.

The moment we arrived we decided to it was not the place for us. The surrounding location is run down. Not within walking distance to town The room we had was crowded with stuff. King sized canopy bed, mirrored ceiling, in a small room. S & M toys in a black unmarked box for $175. (Classlessness personified) The beach front is obviously manufactured. The Indian food was awesome, terrific wait staff, but something was off and we cut our stay and went to Avila for the remainder of our time in Curacao. All I can say is that if this your idea of a dream you need to dream bigger.

From the moment Baoase opened its doors, I felt like I had left the world behind. My stay at this beautiful resort was nothing short of amazing. Despite booking their least expensive room, I was pleasantly surprised by how spacious and well-equipped it was. The website photos don’t do it justice! The room had everything we needed and more, from plenty of Nespresso pods and tea to a complimentary fully stocked minibar. The only minor downside was that the room faced the street, so it could get a little noisy at times, but it rarely bothered me. I also loved the daily exotic fruit in our room. Baoase’s private beach is stunning—clean, serene, and incredibly well-maintained. The beach butlers were fantastic, always friendly, attentive, and quick to fulfill any request. I never had to wait for anything! The ambience was peaceful and relaxing, though I do think their beach playlist could better reflect the overall tranquility of the resort. I also appreciated the snorkeling gear and beach toys available for guests. One thing to note—there are lots of hungry lizards around, and they’re not shy about jumping onto tables for food. But that’s just part of nature, and I found it more amusing than annoying. We opted for the all-inclusive plan for our three-day stay, and I’m so glad we did. We had no plans to leave the resort, and having unlimited access to their delicious food and drinks made the experience even better. While there were some restrictions on premium wines, whatever was available was fantastic. I did not have a single bad meal—everything was fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. A huge shoutout to the amazing restaurant staff—they were attentive, professional, and truly enhanced our experience. Special thanks to Jorrit (I hope I got the name right), Monique, Nathan, and their sommelier, Midas, who all went above and beyond. For the most part, the Guest Services team was wonderful—friendly, efficient, and eager to help. However, there were a couple of small hiccups: • During our welcome tour, we were told we could use Bida Beach freely, and since we were on the all-inclusive plan, we assumed that included drinks. Unfortunately, it didn’t, and I wish that had been clarified upfront. Thankfully, a very helpful team member was able to resolve this for us. • There was a small billing issue with booster juices, which are usually an extra charge unless you have an all-inclusive or full-board plan(as noted on their menu). One team member insisted the surcharge applied to everyone, and I didn’t feel like arguing over $22 so I just paid for it when we checked out. I just think consistency in information is important, especially at a five-star resort. The only truly off-putting part of our stay was the “special box” in our room. It contained intimate items, which felt a little cheap and invasive. Instead of automatically placing these in the rooms, I think it would be much more appropriate to offer them upon request. What made it worse was that the item appeared on statement (as a deposit) at checkout, and we were asked if we had used it, so they could remove it from the statement. That felt uncomfortable and unnecessary. This is something the resort should definitely reconsider. I absolutely loved my stay at Baoase. The incredible service, relaxing beach, delicious food, and luxurious atmosphere made it an unforgettable experience. I will definitely be coming back, and I can’t wait for my next visit!

This resort is a quiet oasis and a great getaway for relaxation. We booked a Beachfront Pool Suite to celebrate my 40th birthday. We booked the all inclusive plan from Monday to Saturday. Our flight arrived mid afternoon. We highly recommend the airport transfer. It made it easy getting to the resort. The island was much more arid than I expected but beautiful! Our ride to the resort had an amazing view of Willemstad! Upon arrival the entrance immediately captured our attention. As the doors opened, several staff members greeted us and offered a damp towel to freshen up and took our luggage. A staff member provided us with a tour of the grounds. I loved the zen feel of the resort and the details really made the vibe. The banyan tree was beautiful and I loved the “first laid stone” sign (which just happened to be the date of my birthday 20 years ago!). We arrived a few minutes before our room was ready so we stopped off at the bar where we were given a “Welcome” drink. I believe the resort typically provides this immediately upon arrival but we had it while sitting at the bar awaiting the preparation of our room. There was some confusion about that when we ordered from the bartender. The room was amazing. It was one of my favorite rooms we have had on vacation. The bathroom and closet are nicely separated from the bed which provides an amazing view of the pool and outdoor oasis. The bed was very comfortable. Our patio had a “spa” with jets as part of the pool, but it was not heated like a hot tub. A nice touch was the Sonos sound system that played in the room and on the patio. We had a couple of issues with ours but the staff sent someone to fix it. You can select your own music from Spotify but some of the tracks would change before reaching the end of the song. I really liked the Baoase playlist (I even listened to a bit when we got home!) Since we arrived late afternoon we were tired from travel and decided to turn in early. The prospect of room service was appealing but when reviewing the a la carte menu, we did not find any option to be quick and easy so we opted to skip dinner that night. It was unclear if we could order from the bites menu which would have been perfect. Our particular room had a deck on the rocky area of the shore overlooking the ocean. Before turning in, I watched the sunset. I walked the grounds and it was peaceful and quiet in the evening. The next morning we woke early and had breakfast which begins at 7:00 am. The breakfast includes a buffet, which included pastries, fresh fruit, infused water, and mimosas. There was also a large selection of fresh juice. Other options on the menu include eggs, pancakes, crepes, and waffles. I ordered eggs most mornings but liked the pancake better than the waffle. The coffee drinks were on point but if you are looking for a smoothie, note there is an upcharge that is not part of the all inclusive. This came as a surprise since if I were to order a frozen alcoholic drink, it would be included as part of all inclusive. After breakfast we asked the staff to show us where we could relax on the beach. Having booked a Beachfront Suite, they walked us to the area on the right side of the beach. We ordered refreshments and relaxed. The cocktails AND mocktails were amazing! I even asked to add alcohol to a couple of the mocktails because they were so tasty. My only complaint on the drinks was that the martinis were not cold enough. I’m a big vodka martini drinker and the martinis were a bit warm for my taste. We later had massages in the massage cabana. We added the scalp treatment. I would not do the scalp treatment again but loved the relaxation massage. For dinner we had the five course meal without the wine pairing. I wish we would have done the wine pairing but it wasn’t clear what our options were even when we asked. When we were researching the resort, we did not find readily available information on it, but the five course meal has an upcharge even if you book the all inclusive. We later (on our fourth night, see below) ordered a la carte which had the same offerings so if you do not want to have the upcharge, you can order a la carte with most of the same offerings. The next day we went into town and the resort arranged our transportation. We walked around town for a few hours and the resort arranged a taxi to pick us up. I was able to communicate with the resort on transportation logistics on WhatsApp. The taxi driver did not notify us of his arrival but I would not attribute this to the resort. It was very hot walking around but I am glad we saw Willemstad. We stopped off at a small cafe for drinks and a quick snack. We wanted to eat lunch at the Old Market but arrived a bit too late and many of the options were heavy for such a hot day. We did however walk through. When we returned from town, we got ready for dinner. As a side note, the shower and bathtub are completely outdoors. The toilet is inside and separate from the rest of the suite. The tub is big enough for two and the shower is open. It’s private but you can hear others at times on their patio and smoking is allowed on the premises so on a couple of occasions, I could smell cigarette smoke while I was showering (also allowed on the beach). This wasn’t a dealbreaker for me, but made it difficult to have an evening bath for two. The resort offers themed dinners on the sunset deck. It was an amazing view. I recommend getting there right at 7:00 for one of the spots on the dock. On our third night we had the Indian dinner and it was my favorite dinner we had on the resort. Each dish was amazing. It was prix fixe but I liked each course equally and could not choose my favorite because everything was great. On our fourth day we didn’t leave the resort and spent the entire day relaxing. We sat on the dock on the left side of the beach which had several lizards and iguanas. Very cool, but be prepared for them to crawl all over your chair and even you! They would come over to us when we ordered lunch and munch on our plates when we were done. I recommended asking the beach butlers to come for your plates when you are finished eating. The bites menu was tasty. We loved the sticky buns. The nachos were surprisingly tasty too. We preferred the small bites over lunch at the restaurant because breakfast was so filling. The resort provides snorkeling equipment and kayaks. My husband snorkeled and saw a few fish and wildlife. The water was clear and quite chilly but so refreshing. When the sun was beginning to feel stronger, we decided to go back over to the right side of the beach where we sat the first day. We were approached by a beach butler and told we could not sit there. As you recall, earlier in my review we were escorted to the right side of the beach by the staff and told we were permitted to sit on the right side since we were staying in a Beachfront Suite. I explained this and the beach butler went into a long story about how the front desk continues to make this mistake. The irony of it all was that when we sat there the second day someone took our order and we provided a room number to the beach butler who did not say a word about our specific suite not being permitted to use the right side of the beach. I don’t mind that we weren’t permitted to sit on the right side of the beach but I did mind the beach butlers unnecessary explanation blaming the front desk. That isn’t the type of behavior I expect from a luxury resort. The logistics and communication could be better. The beach butler offered a “free” drink. Which was part of the all inclusive. The manager later offered champagne but we declined. This wasn’t enough to drop my review to four stars. Again, not a deal breaker. Just wish there was better communication throughout our time on the resort. We had the a la carte menu for dinner on day four. It was delicious and filling. We ordered some repeats from the five course tasting menu I described above. Some of our favorites were the tuna and ceviche. On our last full day we had another massage. This time we did the feet add on and I highly recommend it over the scalp treatment. Our first massage was in the afternoon so the spa staff seemed more prepared for us. In the morning, it felt like they needed more time to set up and get everything together. We had to spend a few minutes waiting for them to finish setting up upon arrival to the spa cabana. For that reason, I recommend a mid day or late afternoon massage. We attended the Italian dinner on the last night. The portions were large and it was very tasty. Since we wanted to try all the food we ordered the half portion entrees. We also were given a limoncello to try. The pasta and risotto were great I also like the tiramisu and fig pizza. The arugula salad was not my favorite. Unlike the Indian themed dinner, it was not prix fixe and you could choose from various offerings. My last note: if you’re coming here for a special occasion, you may have to arrange for something special. We did not do that and mentioned my birthday and there was no special dessert, drink, or mention of it. This was an amazing resort and we definitely enjoyed it.

We stayed at Baoase for eight nights in March 2025. This resort came highly recommended by our travel agent and had been on our travel bucket list for quite a while. I had high expectations going into this trip. (We stayed in the Superior Beachfront Pool Suite.) Baoase did not disappoint! The resort feels very tropical, almost Bali-like or Polynesian. It is so well done in every aspect. What we loved: the staff, the suite, the grounds, the beach/ocean-lagoon area, food, did I say the staff? The staff was wonderful. I read some reviews that expressed concerns about the staff not being friendly or attentive. I don’t get it. Standouts include: Kadeisha, Pablo and Midas but we were so absolutely impressed with everyone. They really did contribute to the pleasure of our stay. We did the all-inclusive plan, and the food was excellent. If there were not theme nights, the food would get monotonous, but with the theme nights, it was a very enjoyable experience. All meals did take a quite a bit of time, but I believe this is by design. Truly island time. They are not going to rush you. Dining is an experience there, and we thoroughly enjoyed every meal. Our suite was beautiful. We loved the view of the lagoon from our deck. The deck furniture was very comfortable. The room had two mini-splits, and we were able to always keep the room a comfortable temperature. The outdoor shower added to the tropical feel of the vacation. It’s part of the experience factor. The suite was beautifully decorated and well appointed. Housekeeping and turn down service were on point all week. We appreciated the Molton Brown products (shampoo, conditioner, bath gel, hand soap, etc). The beach area is so nice. The loungers are very comfortable, and the beach staff (beach butlers) are very responsive, friendly and professional. The water/lagoon is beautiful and easy to just float around and relax. I did take a hammock float with me, and I’d still be floating in that lagoon if I could be! You can snorkel in the lagoon area; it is okay, not great. I do understand that the beaches across the island have wonderful snorkeling. We did the west side island tour with Carlos. Highly recommend. Carlos is a hoot, and so knowledgeable. Wonderful host for your island! Baoase is everything we enjoy in a vacation – calm water, beautiful grounds, beautiful room, comfortable room, good food, top notch staff. I’d also like to add – my husband got sick our last day there. The resort staff ensured he had what he needed and that he was comfortable. They checked up on him, brought our meals to our room and were on standby to assist if needed to extend our stay. I appreciate them being proactive, attentive and kind. Being at Baoase is easy! We really look forward to returning one day.
