What a beautiful setting and so well looked after by numerous staff. But this resort appears to be riding on its name. What we loved: the setting, the comfortable room, breakfast and complimentary bottle of Prosecco and a room upgrade on arrival. Caesar gets a special mention because he was always so friendly and helpful. What we didn’t like: The ambience. Although we were told the resort was full, there were not many people eating in the restaurants which were both expensive. We booked dinner at Gusto the Michelin restaurant which was lovely. But you know you are being ripped off when you pay €12 for a bottle of still water. My husband asked for a cake for my birthday - for which he was charged €50. They brought the cake to us at the end of the huge meal at this restaurant. Considering we were there for 5 nights, no one took the trouble to greet us by name / offer us water by the pool or beach or mosquito repellent for outdoor areas. All of which would have been nice touches and make you feel a valued guest. We were grateful for reviews that suggested a car and we had plenty of inexpensive but memorable experiences outside the hotel - a beach bar in Istana with the best views and a €29 dolphin experience. The surrounding beaches were incredibly beautiful. Servers at restaurants outside the establishment were more friendly and welcoming. It turns out the best things in life are

We are back in Sardinia and we decided to play it safe by staying at the Baglioni hotel since we really enjoyed this hotel last year! Glad to say that this hotel never fails me. Our expectation has been met this time around too! Service is on point! It has been nice seeing familiar faces amongst the staff, particularly Paolo at the beach. Always kind and attentive, I was pleasantly surprised as I didn’t think he would remember us considering our short stay last year but he did. The beach is stunning as usual and in my opinion it’s the hotel’s best asset although this time around it was much more crowded than September. Over all I enjoyed my stay!

Beautiful location, great accommodations, top notch service on the most beautiful island! Off the beaten path which was a nice escape from the busier Porto Cervo. The hotel and grounds are simple, elegant and comfortable. I recommend renting a car to get around if leaving the hotel grounds.

I recently stayed at Baglioni on Sardinia as an AMEX Fine Hotel guest. I must tell you that this hotel is NOT a 5 star hotel no matter how you define 5 star hotels. If the hotel did not have access to a wonderful beach, it would be a 3 star hotel. Even with the beach it’s a 3 star at best. 5-star hotels do not have ants in their rooms. Twice. After they were treated - twice - I ended up treating the problem myself by applying liquid hair conditioner along windows and floors - which actually worked better than what the staff used. 5 star hotels have bathroom doors that actually close without making screaming noises (we were moved to a room - with a smaller bathroom - where the doors actually closed.) 5 star hotels have concierge teams that work after 6. 5 star hotels have front doors that sit on their frames that prevent insects from entering. 5 star hotels have door frames that actually fit the doors without sloppy caulk that was irregularly applied. 5 star hotels have rooms large enough to move around without crashing into each other. Junior “suite”? Are you kidding? 5 star hotels do not run out of eggs in the breakfast buffet. 5 star hotels provide soap bars to their guests when the guests ask them for soap - three times. 5 star hotels do not tell their guests that they’re not entitled to another bottle of water in their room. (Which we were.) 5 star hotels do not have mold in their showers. Please do not send me the usual "we're sorry we did not meet your expectations" response. We both know that such notes are just platitudes without sincerity. We both know that your hotel is not a 5 star hotel. It’s not even close. I will be contacting AMEX to advise them that your hotel should be removed from their Fine Hotels program.

The staff and service were exceptional.
Extremely warm and helpful staff, Francesco, Roberto and Piera to name just a few of the excellent staff. All were wonderful. The beach and pool were stunning. We also thoroughly enjoyed the food at both restaurants. House keeping was also great. Grazie

The food is simple but delicious. Portions are small. They make excellent cocktails using locally made gin and syrups. The rooms are splendid. Get a room with a covered porch as they are quiet, clean and private. Some of the rooms have patios that are covered by oleanders bushes only. There are nice rooms but don’t provide much privacy from the walkways. The staff is courteous and prompt. We never had to wait more than a few minutes when requesting something to our room from the front desk. The private beach service was nice. They have a private bathroom and drinks. Drinks and food are expensive but the water is crystal clear and the views of Tavolara island are incredible. The sand is soft and everything is so clean. You must rent a car or stay at the resort without leaving. Ordering a taxi for a small drive will be €150+. There are other taxi services that you can find online that are cheaper though. The restaurant at the hotel is worth a visit but make sure to reserve in advance. Prepare for mosquitoes. You won’t have a problem most of the time but you should prepare if you eat after sunset at the hotel restaurant. I would definitely go back for the beach and the room.

A sprawling hillside resort with water views and within a short walk of the long and sandy Lu impostu beach. We stayed for 3 nights in mid September after the crush of summer visitors had eased. The first thing that struck me was the incredible sincere welcome and hospitality. Ricardo took amazing care getting us checked in and oriented to the key spots on the property before setting us up in the open air bar for some Prosecco. Our room, 420, exceeded my expectations; it was huge, and featured all the modern accoutrements from massive walk-in rain shower and double sinks in the bathroom to the spacious living room and separate bedroom with an extra firm king bed (maybe a bit TOO firm?) and nice pillows, bedside charging plugs (both USB-c and older USB) on each side all packaged in an airy white-washed interior with tasteful accents of color. We also had a large shady patio with comfortable loungers with a view to the sea (300+ yards away down the slope). Our room rate included the lavish breakfast buffet with lots of local specialties as well as international classics. Fresh cooked eggs and other items were all offered cooked to order from the cheery waiters. This place is very family friendly and I expect sometimes perhaps busy with kids given the two small kiddie pools adjacent to the big main pool as well as the kids club program. During our stay occupancy was light and the few families with small kids were no bother. Our off season rate was still over €600/night but I felt the high level of service, excellent new facilities, great breakfast and proximity to an excellent sandy beach were well worth the price. Only nit was WiFi was a bit slow. Highly recommended!

I'll start by saying that I don't bother writing reviews unless I have had a memorable experience and the Baglioni resort Sardinia certainly deserves one. I have had a pleasant stay, I am pretty sure the amazing weather helped. The beach to me is their greatest asset even if the resort is not exactly on the beach (a few mins walk is required). Even so, the sandy beach and the crsytal-clear shallow waters make it absolutely heavenly. The beach service deserves the praise: Paolo has welcomed us each day with a big smile on his face, he was very attentive and kind. This made us feel comfortable and safe. A shout out to Andrea (also from the beach service), his service contributed into making us feel well taken care of. I have really enjoyed my stay at the Baglioni resort. Food was excellent. Also worth mentioning Alessandra, our guest relation officer, she was very patient and helpful. If you are looking for a medium size peaceful resort with a beatiful beach, this is for you.

We stayed at Baglioni Sardinia for 5 nights in August and it was excellent. The rooms were spacious with a beautiful very large bathroom and separate closet area and an outdoor area with loungers (garden view room). Two suggestions - the air conditioning wasn't as strong as was necessary for the heat, but it wasn't unbearable (except when using a blow dryer to dry long hair!) and the bathroom could definitely use some towel hook and towel rings as there wasn't much space to hang hand towels, bath towels and robes. The service was for the most part excellent in each of the restaurants, the bar area and the beach. We had an issue the day that we left when we ordered eggs that never arrived (35 mins later, as we were walking out of the restaurant, they brought them over). Other than that, the restaurant service was extremely friendly and great. Service at the beach was also great, with Paulo and Antonello tending to guests needs to set up lounge chairs and umbrellas. The beach area is a sectioned off area solely for Baglioni guests, which we appreciated. Vendors can come through but if you just say no, they continue to move on. If you're in the front row, you will likely be bothered by all of the other beach dwellers walking by, so I would suggest a row or two further back for a more peaceful time at the beach. Special thanks to Alessandra, who was so kind and gracious and gave us some recommendations for things to do off the resort, and kindly gave us restaurant recommendations, booking us at a restaurant down the road (we had a vehicle so transportation wasn't an issue). There was also a very kind and friendly gentleman at the front desk, whose name we unfortunately have forgotten, but he was great (talked about football often with my husband) and Matilda was very kind and informative when we arrived, offering us an upgraded room. We loved our stay at this resort because it is secluded and small, so it was very tranquil and relaxing, which was what we were looking for. The restaurants are good, albeit a little overpriced (especially the drinks). However, things are generally expensive in Sardinia, so we accepted that we had to pay a little more at this beautiful resort. Car rentals are very expensive in Sardinia, but we liked the convenience of being able to go into San Teodoro for dinner (we booked restaurants in advance because San Teodoro was packed in the evenings, with long line ups for restaurants) and we could drive to other port areas (and get to and from the airport easily). We highly recommend this resort! We will be back.
