Truly phenomenal experience. My wife and I stayed here for two nights and the hotel was well worth it. The staff is extraordinarily attentive and even loaned me a suit jacket for impromptu opera tickets. The rooms are beautifully designed and extremely comfortable, with excellent views of Prague Castle. The hotel’s location is secluded adding to the relaxing atmosphere, yet is centrally located and only a quick walk from many of the city’s most famous locations. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a unique luxury experience in Prague!

Visiting the Christmas markets but wanting to be a bit away from the rush of people over the holidays, we booked into The Augustine. What a treat! A bit off the beaten track but quite close to the Charles Bridge and Prague Castle, the hotel was wonderful. The team at the front desk and the concierge desk were always able to answer questions and give recommendations. And the holiday treats table (cookies, hot wine, chocolate) that they put out over the weekend was amazing. Best of all, after a day of visiting the sites and being a part of the crowds, the room was quiet and more than comfortable. Highly recommended!

Really great for a couple’s Christmas trip. The building has a lot of character as a former medieval monastery. They offer a black beer that’s based on the monk’s 14th century recipe and it’s superb. Every meal - breakfast, lunch and dinner - was excellent. The staff is A+. I don’t know where they find these people but I never experienced hospitality at such a high level. They were really helpful with food allergies. We celebrated a birthday here and they brought us a cake, took a photo, and then turned the photo into a handwritten birthday card! They were always dropping off snacks and drinks at the room, including a really beautiful Christmas cake. I never asked for or expected any of the attention but they were incredibly thoughtful and welcoming. Highly recommend.

We stayed at this hotel through Viking. We were in the Czech Republic to find the village of my father's family. We went to a village the first day but went to the wrong Brezany. Who knew there were so many Brezanys in The Czech Republic. The next day I talked to the hotel concierge and asked if we could find a driver to go to the correct site. Within a half hour he found a driver to take us to the village. I can't thank this man enough. The day was October 26th. I don't remember his name but I will be forever grateful. We found my father's village and had a wonderful time. Oh, and the hotel was wonderful. Best Goulash and rooms were top notch.

This is a lovely hotel that is perfectly located. The rooms are excellent in both size and amenity. Room cleaning was exceptional, and its strange to make a comment about how the rooms are cleaned daily, but they are simply excellent, even to the extent they folded clothes for us that we had forgotten ( or were to lazy to do ourselves). Breakfast is great, excellent quality, as are the lunches. Best coffee i had in Europe over 4 weeks ( but coffee is always a personal taste thing). All the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Could not fault them. If I have one small recommendation to the hotel, it may be that the shower water was not really hot, it's was acceptable, but after a day our city exploring in the cold a hot shower would have been nice. But again this is a personal thing and may also be a safety thing to ensure nobody scalds themselves if it's too hot. If you want something central, with really good amenities, lovely atmosphere and make you feel at home. This is your place.

I have recently stayed with my husband at the Augustine hotel in Prague. From the moment we stepped in we could tell that our stay was going to be brilliant. The staff was very professional and we offered a glass of sparkling wine while we waited to check in. Our room was on the top floor, beautifully appointed and very comfortable. Breakfast was a la carte which I do prefer and the bread selection was fantastic. Sinner at the Augustine Restaurant was superb and I recommend the venison. The location could not be better, very close to Prague Castle and to Charles bridge and a short walk to anywhere in the city. I loved my stay at the Augustine and I really think that it is one of the best 5 star hotels in the world and my forever home in Prague. Congratulations to all the staff and I will definitely be back!

This is our third time staying at Augustine and we are always impressed with the level of service here . This time we took advantage of the tour offered (guests only) of the monastery adjacent to the hotel. This was an amazing glimpse into the side of the building others do not get to see which includes the beginnings of the church and library on site. Father William is a gem of a human and a plethora of information. The view of the rooftops in Prague is one of my favorite parts of staying here. Valet will park your car, food is good and the bars are fun. Service and stay are always 5 stars at Augustine.

After our river cruise, we extended our stay in Prague and chose to stay at The Augustine, a charming historical hotel that was once an Abbey. Remarkably, monks still reside on the property. Our room faced the peaceful interior courtyard and was both spacious and quiet, offering luxurious comforts like a king-sized bed, bathtub, sitting area, and a work desk. The staff at The Augustine was incredibly gracious and attentive. We frequently relied on the concierge for dinner reservations, salon bookings, and securing train tickets. The daily service was impeccable, and the restaurant staff was equally outstanding. The property features three dining options, including a bar. The Refectory serves drinks and light bites, and I had one of the best Caesar salads I've ever tasted there. The Augustine Restaurant offers fantastic meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, while the Saint Thomas Brewery Bar, located in a grotto, provides a memorable experience with traditional Czech cuisine. Centrally located, The Augustine was perfect for exploring Prague’s sights, and we discovered many charming places just a short walk from the hotel. A fun and unexpected highlight of our stay was meeting Hannah Waddingham, who was staying at the hotel with her family. It was such a pleasure to chat with her!

Perfect hotel for visit to Prague. Have stayed in many different European hotels and Augustine is at the top of the list. I can’t understand the posts criticizing service other than to believe they were based on an isolated and unusual experience. I will be specific as to why we found the service to be above and beyond what most hotels offer to counteract those general/less specific negative comments. Zoe at the front desk on more than one occasion during our stay went out of her way to make sure all was good with our stay and to personally greet us with a smile when we returned to the hotel. Marek and Ahmet in the restaurant were incredibly attentive and personable at breakfast and lunch (we did not eat dinner at the hotel). Michael the concierge spent time with us to make sure our days were well planned and had excellent local recommendations. Tomas who worked in the lobby area was equally as inviting as Zoe (and did a nice job with the orchids and flowers in the lobby). As others have posted, the location is 100% where you want to be - essentially equidistant from all attractions and areas you will visit. Hotel is off the street via a private drive which provides for a nice separation from the city. That said, lessertown (the side of the river where this hotel is located) is much quieter/less tourists than the old town side. We would not recommend staying in the old town area. We travel quite a bit and don’t post many reviews. Our experience at Augustine was so exceptional that we felt compelled to post. Enjoy Prague!

We had an excellent 4 night stay here. It's a smaller hotel, 101 rooms and is the luxury price point pre-cruise hotel for Viking's Danube River cruise. We were not a part of a cruise, just chose to stay because it looked very nice and it was. The hotel is part of a former monastery. It's about 20 minutes from the airport and train station. Its location in Prague is great, in the Lesser Town area. We walked to The Old Square and Prague Castle (which is visible from the hotel) in 20 minutes. Charles Bridge is a 10 minute walk and the Senate Garden is right around the corner. The hotel is very clean. Lukas at the concierge desk, Marek and Jacob in the Refectory Bar and St. Thomas Brewery Bar were all amazing. There's outdoor seating off the Refectory Bar as well as a lovely garden area. Our room was a great size, comfy bed, ample towels, good water pressure in the shower, a full sized bathtub, a hair dryer that was only o.k. and couldn't be plugged in inside the bathroom. We received welcome goodies and there were fresh flowers in our room. Class all the way without being stuffy. Would definitely go back!

We stayed as part of our upgraded Viking River cruise Prague extension. Upon checkin we were given a very spacious & well appointed room that was directly adjacent to the tram line. We were exhausted from traveling & it didn’t take long to figure out the vibration from the constant tram traffic would not be ideal for us. We requested to move to a room location that was more peaceful. Luckily, the front desk was able to move us. Big difference in the size of the two rooms and had we thought we could weather the tram traffic, the first room was truly amazing. Pictures of the different rooms are attached. Our 2nd room was perfectly adequate & comfortable. Having to step over the tub to get into the shower was not fun. Service at the restaurant & front desk was great! The concierge staff (Bridget & Dan) were fantastic! Super friendly & very helpful. Outstanding location near the Charles Bridge, Old Town and Prague Castle. Daily breakfast was delicious with emphasis on made to order a la carte selections. Loved the colorful decor throughout the lobby and one of the bars. Highly recommend & would stay again if we return to Prague!

My husband and I celebrated our wedding anniversary at this magical place. From the impeccable service to the exquisite food, everything was flawless. Having traveled the world, we can confidently say this was one of the best experiences we've ever had. We felt truly welcomed and appreciated by everyone, from the general manager Michael, to Lucas the concierge, and our wonderfully pleasant waiter, whom we affectionately called Mr. Smiley. We will definitely return to Prague and stay at St. Augustine again. Exceptional staff!

The location of the hotel is great as its walking distance to Charles Bridge, old town and many of the tours of the city will culminate from this location. It’s a former monastery although four monks still live there. But this is not a 5 star hotel by most standards. It’s right up against the trams that circumvent the city so although the double panel windows drown out the noise, it does not help with the vibrations from the trams. We had to change rooms. As another reviewer mentioned, the beds are hard and the bedding is average at best. Shower/tubs versus walk in showers are annoying and dangerous. The tub was so slippery, we had to ask for bath mats. Two days of asking for wash cloths went ignored (who doesn’t supply washcloths in a hotel?!). Breakfast, which was included in our rate, was good, not great. There is an egg station but you can only get the eggs they decide to make you that day, which actually then didn’t make much sense. Limited menu for dinner but food was well done. All in all, an ok experience but the price doesn’t reflect this being just ok.

My husband and I had the absolute pleasure to stay in this gorgeous hotel in April while visiting Prague for 6 days. Upon arrival and check-in we were not only treated to the best ever customer service ever but a glass of Prosecco to sip during the process. We were also upgraded to a lovely suite that, without question, is the nicest accommodation we have ever stayed in. We had a personal escort to the room, a short tour of all the amenities available in the room, a a surprise welcome gift waiting for us. It was indeed a wonderful start to our stay in Prague. The best part of this hotel is the staff. From the folks behind the scenes in reservations contacting us prior to our visit, to the front desk receptionists, to the bell folks who among other things, helped direct us to locations around the city, to the outstanding housekeeping folks who immaculately took care of our suite, to the restaurant staff who were always bright and cheery in the morning with the wonderful breakfasts and the concierge folks who answered many of our questions, ALL made this stay the best ever. I highly recommend the Augustine hotel to all who would enjoy an experience like ours. You will definitely have a phenomenal visit.
