Bitterly disappointed at the resort General Manager's (Gary) response to dealing with a wholly justified privacy infringement complaint.
Guest's right to enjoy seclusion should be unquestionably preserved whilst on site and at no times, contrary to the General Manager's assertion, should a call be connected directly to a room by an external other without having been either screened or a message taken by the answering reception.
The in room telephone was answered at around 10pm in the evening in good faith believing it to be reception but was an external caller who had been put straight through without having known the room number. It was designed to harrass.
It caused distress and upset, ruined a days holiday and it is unfortunate that the General Manager considers it imprudent to, whilst apologising, doggedly refusing to offer any gesture of goodwill knowing the upset caused by his staff's actions.

Just Brilliant- the perfect mini break. We came here 10 days ago for the first time. We have visited Arran many times but had never stayed here despite great reports from friends. The deal we had was for two nights in a superior room with breakfast. We sailed from Troon to Brodick on the Alfred. At Brodick there were mini buses ready to take guests from the ferry to the hotel. A swift, comfortable and short journey designed to make our journey as easy as possible.
We had a warm welcome at Auchrannie, wherever we went from all the members of staff. Our room was perfect with great views of Goatfell from the picture window. The grounds were lovely, location great for walking into town and the catering great. We particularly enjoyed our breakfasts in Brambles restaurant. Amongst the best breakfasts ever. The homemade granola was wonderful, the selection great and the quality and service perfect.
The facilities are excellent too with a super pool(s) and everything you could possibly want.
We are looking forward to our return journey.
Highly recommend.

I received a kind gift voucher to stay at Auchrannie and was looking forward to staying there with my partner. We made our dinner reservations in advance. However, we would recommend others to make spa appointments far in advance as we were not able to get any spa treatments during our stay which was disappointing. It seems to be a small spa with limited staffing from what they told us. The room was beautiful. Extremely well decorated; very tasteful interior design. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was great. The room has a small refrigerator, iron, ironing board, hair dryer, umbrella. No safe. The fridge only had a small milk for the coffee machine. Nothing else for four star accommodation. Room service isn’t really advertised. I asked at reception and you could phone during restaurant hours to get food delivered if you wish. There are two buildings - one older and one newer. We stayed in the newer one. The older building has in my opinion the nicer aesthetic. The Brambles restaurant was wonderful. Lovely staff and service. Gorgeous champagne, oysters, orzo with sole olives capers, some of the best fish and chips we have had. Eden and Shak were two amazing staff members. We would definitely stay again. Some minor improvements I think could be made include: there are no shelves or storage in the bathroom and shower; their recycling arrangements aren’t advertised - I had to ask about the cleaners and leaving materials that could be recycled; the doors are not accessible with automatic entry for those with mobility issues like wheelchairs; the lift is confusing with the signage and the numbering of the floors - also conflicting advice on the signage about the capacity of the lift; the mini van transportation from the ferry smelled of body odour so it could use some cleaning, air freshener and/or improved hygiene. The setting is beautiful. You can easily walk to amenities and Brodick Castle, Arran Aromatics, Arran cheese, Wineport restaurant, Gin bar, Saltwater Gallery. The pool and sauna in the older building was lovely. We would love to visit again.

Wow what a lovely setting. Just stunning.
Rooms were very nice loads of space and well set up..
Coffee and tea were in the room and there was plenty choice of tea. However. There was no decaf tea for those who can't tolerate caffeine. suggest some caffeine free drinks. ( Just a suggestion). The bath could have had a bit more grippy surface as it was fine when under the shower but not when climbing out.
Overall we had a lovely overnight stay and will be back. We will also recommend to friends and family.
Many thanks. Gary and Lynn. X

A fantastic location, best on the Island. Excellent hotel complex.
One of the restaurants was closed and has been for over a year which would have been good to know. The Bramble restaurant was excellent and the Cruize very average. Felt there should have been a fine dining option. Food and drinks very reasonably priced. Staff friendly on the whole (Rachel very good) but generally in need of some training and product knowledge.
Overall very much enjoyed and hope to come back

Stunning complex , with the most incredible views .
Our room was in the spa resort .
We loved our room , absolutely huge and decorated so well .
Check in was great but to be honest we hadn’t a clue about everything the lady was trying to tell us 🤣
Thank goodness for the app.
We booked a treatment in the spa which was amazing. We both felt so pampered and relaxed, gorgeous atmosphere.
We enjoyed the pool etc
We ate in the cruize restaurant and had a lovely meal sat outside in sunshine .
All the staff were so attentive.
Breakfast was perfect, so much to choose from . Tables cleared fast , food constantly replenished.
We totally loved our stay and cannot wait to return .

Special shout outs to Chloe on reception, Leeds lad behind the bar, the new lad that served us on our first night in thhe restaurant but top of the shop must go to Charlie the restaurant manager!
Thank you all, even housekeeping for a great job done and making it a special two days for us. Stuart and Becky

We've just returned from a long weekend at Auchrannie to celebrate our Ruby wedding.
From start to finish it was a brilliant stay.
Staff are courteous, professional and friendly.
Check in was straightforward and we were greeted warmly by Amy.
We booked an executive plus room (314) which was spacious, modern and tastefully decorated. Separate bath and shower cubicle in a beautiful mood lit Porcelanosa tiled and equipped bathroom.
King size bed was super comfy and Smart TV was great.
Two USB ports.
Teas and coffee facilities in room, but also available in the Stronach lounge, along with soft drinks, crisps and sweets.
Breakfast was great- self service buffet, although a few items could also be requested.
We dined in Cruize for three nights and were not disappointed. The food was just superb- 5* for the chefs and team.
Sian was our server on two evenings and was friendly, cheerful, professional and efficient.
The two pool areas were superb ( especially the House Hotel).
We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back.

Comfy bed, pillows and big walk in shower with lovely toiletries. All staff were super friendly and welcoming especially to our dog who got lots of attention from them. Buffet breakfast was delicious and we also ate in both on site restaurants where food was first class. Lovely hotel grounds to walk the dog too. Needless to say we will be back

This was our first visit to Auchrannie. We stayed for 3 nights in an Executive Double in the House Hotel and had a lovely time. Our room was very tastefully decorated, spotlessly clean and had an enormous window which looked on to a pretty lawn area. The bed was comfortable and we slept well. All of the staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast in the Brambles restaurant was fantastic. Fruit was provided in the room and the fresh milk was replenished every day. However, there are things that could have been better. The tea and coffee cups are far too small to enjoy a decent-sized cup of tea and, whilst there were shower caps and sewing essentials available, there were no feminine products for when you’re caught unawares. Unfortunately, in the early waking hours of our final day the peace was ruined by a crying/howling dog in one of the rooms next to us (which carried on in the restaurant at breakfast). We appreciate that dogs are allowed but there should be stricter rules for the level of noise.
We used the leisure facilities in the House Hotel which were clean. The heated stone beds are incredible! However, you need to remember to have £1 to use the lockers, which we were unaware of so felt uncomfortable leaving things in the changing room. It would have been helpful to have known about this beforehand or, better still, not expect hotel guests to have to pay to use lockers.
There was only one member of staff in the Eighteen 69 bar and no service available until she returned from replenishing stock.
Auchrannie Resort is really lovely and overall we enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning again.

This was our second stay at the Auchrannie luxury couples one bedroom retreat - over £2000 for 7 nights. Expensive, but good value based upon on our previous visit. The estate is lovely and staff very friendly and helpful. We used both pools over several days, and twice enjoyed breakfast and evening meals at the Brambles .
Here's the "but". We fully expected a quiet and relaxing time at Auchrannie as the luxury retreats are marketed on that basis, and that had been our previous experience.
We arrived late Saturday evening (28th June) due to ferry issues. After unpacking we heard a party in full swing at the lodge opposite. The next morning, we awoke early to the sound of the same Lodge guests singing at the top of their voices. After retuning from breakfast, they were still at it (2 hours). I saw housekeeping staff walking past and looking across toward the noise, so the resort staff must have been aware. Before we left for our day out on the island, I mentioned it to reception who said they would look into it. Thankfully, when we returned, they had checked out.
On Monday morning, we experienced the unwelcome sound of an oscillating multi-tool, circular saw and hammers as the lodge next door received a visit from County Carpets (no criticism of the fitters who were acting under instruction from the resort). We went out for the day hoping the works to have completed before our return. Nope - the workmen turned up Tuesday and then Wednesday! I once again found myself complaining to reception about noise.
My main point is that the luxury lodges are supposed to be a tranquil and peaceful 'retreat' - and we paid a premium for that privilege. Half of our stay was effectively ruined by avoidable noise. I still find it unbelievable that the resort reservations team and facilities team do not appear to coordinate - we should have been booked into a Lodge away from the Lodge being refurbished.
Whilst the resort management did apologise and compensate us for the disruptions, this would not convince us to return having had half of our holiday ruined by excessive noise. We expected so much more from Auchrannie and would not risk spending over £2000 again for half an experience.

Very nice stay. We were in the old house hotel and while very adequate just felt the room could have been better for the money paid. £600 for 3 nights. Tried both Cruize and Brambles restaurants for food and drink. Thought Cruize was better re food although more kids about on that side. Went for a swim and it was fine. Booked an archery session and James was brilliant with us. All in all a good base for exploring the island and 4 stars just represents value for money and not any really negative reviews, even though we never did find out how to make the shower run properly!

we decided on the type of room in the spa resort and that left us money leftover to help.with dinner.
we always do our research on places we visit and never done for Arran and then we had not nice weather so stayed in resort all time we were there.
only really bad mark I would give them is we were told we could use facilities until 5pm on day of check out and we never knew about this previously and we had ferry booked home just after checkout and are gutted as we would have used the facilities more
