Bitterly disappointed at the resort General Manager's (Gary) response to dealing with a wholly justified privacy infringement complaint.
Guest's right to enjoy seclusion should be unquestionably preserved whilst on site and at no times, contrary to the General Manager's assertion, should a call be connected directly to a room by an external other without having been either screened or a message taken by the answering reception.
The in room telephone was answered at around 10pm in the evening in good faith believing it to be reception but was an external caller who had been put straight through without having known the room number. It was designed to harrass.
It caused distress and upset, ruined a days holiday and it is unfortunate that the General Manager considers it imprudent to, whilst apologising, doggedly refusing to offer any gesture of goodwill knowing the upset caused by his staff's actions.

Just Brilliant- the perfect mini break. We came here 10 days ago for the first time. We have visited Arran many times but had never stayed here despite great reports from friends. The deal we had was for two nights in a superior room with breakfast. We sailed from Troon to Brodick on the Alfred. At Brodick there were mini buses ready to take guests from the ferry to the hotel. A swift, comfortable and short journey designed to make our journey as easy as possible.
We had a warm welcome at Auchrannie, wherever we went from all the members of staff. Our room was perfect with great views of Goatfell from the picture window. The grounds were lovely, location great for walking into town and the catering great. We particularly enjoyed our breakfasts in Brambles restaurant. Amongst the best breakfasts ever. The homemade granola was wonderful, the selection great and the quality and service perfect.
The facilities are excellent too with a super pool(s) and everything you could possibly want.
We are looking forward to our return journey.
Highly recommend.

I received a kind gift voucher to stay at Auchrannie and was looking forward to staying there with my partner. We made our dinner reservations in advance. However, we would recommend others to make spa appointments far in advance as we were not able to get any spa treatments during our stay which was disappointing. It seems to be a small spa with limited staffing from what they told us. The room was beautiful. Extremely well decorated; very tasteful interior design. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was great. The room has a small refrigerator, iron, ironing board, hair dryer, umbrella. No safe. The fridge only had a small milk for the coffee machine. Nothing else for four star accommodation. Room service isn’t really advertised. I asked at reception and you could phone during restaurant hours to get food delivered if you wish. There are two buildings - one older and one newer. We stayed in the newer one. The older building has in my opinion the nicer aesthetic. The Brambles restaurant was wonderful. Lovely staff and service. Gorgeous champagne, oysters, orzo with sole olives capers, some of the best fish and chips we have had. Eden and Shak were two amazing staff members. We would definitely stay again. Some minor improvements I think could be made include: there are no shelves or storage in the bathroom and shower; their recycling arrangements aren’t advertised - I had to ask about the cleaners and leaving materials that could be recycled; the doors are not accessible with automatic entry for those with mobility issues like wheelchairs; the lift is confusing with the signage and the numbering of the floors - also conflicting advice on the signage about the capacity of the lift; the mini van transportation from the ferry smelled of body odour so it could use some cleaning, air freshener and/or improved hygiene. The setting is beautiful. You can easily walk to amenities and Brodick Castle, Arran Aromatics, Arran cheese, Wineport restaurant, Gin bar, Saltwater Gallery. The pool and sauna in the older building was lovely. We would love to visit again.
