Arakur has a great location but it is certainly not a 5 star hotel. Overpriced for what you get.
The good - the hotel is away from downtown and has a great view of the mountains and sea. They have a shuttle to take you downtown.
The bad - No coffee in the rooms and terrible coffee at their restaurants. I have never stayed at a 4/5 star hotel that did not have in room coffee. We needed to have 4/5 cups of coffee just to feel a little caffeine kick in.
The breakfast buffet just had a lot of stuff that were really just sweets, too much sugar for breakfast and not enough nutritional things. You can keep things simple and remove 90% of the breakfast stuff and have a just a handful well made items for breakfast.
The gym was also disappointing, it was disappointing - it’s basically just a bunch of old treadmills and weights.

The best hotel in Ushuaia. This is a luxury hotel in a stunning location (perched on the top of a hill overlooking Ushuaia and the Beagle Channel.) Rooms are spacious and well appointed and we had a fabulous view of the mountains. Just outside the hotel you can enjoy some marked trails in the woods and be surprised as you may come across some lovely horses.
Service is excellent and English widely spoken. Staff are polite and attentive. Restaurant options are good. Hotel also runs a free shuttle bus down to town. All good. Not the cheapest hotel in town but hey ho, you're only here once as they say. Would we come back again ... you bet !

Had three nights here. Dramatically located on a hilltop overlooking the Beagle channel and Ushuaia, the views are to die for. Food and service pretty good. Nice walks in the surrounding forests. Downside is need to use an hourly shuttle (free) to get to town
Probably the best hotel in Ushuaia

The only downside of this hotel is it's much more expensive than I would choose on my own. But we stayed here for the night before a cruise departure, so it was part of that package, and we very much enjoyed our stay! The bed was comfortable, the bathroom and shower were very nice, and the breakfast was good. We really enjoyed the infinity pool, which connected both inside and outside and had amazing views over the town below. I'd definitely recommend it if the price isn't an issue for you.

The location of the hotel and in particular its spa is outstanding. The rooms were very lovely and spacious with great bathrooms and the bar/ dining areas were great. The views from the lobby bar and lower restaurant were spectacular.
The food was delicious and very plentiful. Too plentiful!
Definitely the place to stay.

Wonderful view but it is a poorly designed hotel. The spa has a very nice pool overlooking the spectacular view but the sauna is in a cold corridor. You have to book it for a particular time and then emerge feeling cold in the drafty corridor. The massage rooms are on another floor right next to the business dining area so you mix with visitors in your dressing gown. I had a brilliant massage though.
The layout of the hotel is confusing - we kept getting the wrong floor for the restaurant. And, it's clear that it has not been designed for anyone wanting to take the stairs - the stairways are difficult to find and on some floors, a total mess when you do find them - see my photo.
We wanted to check out at midday rather than 10am and were told it would be an extra $200 to do so - wow. We kept to the normal checkout time.
The buffet had lots of things on offer but we found it hard to find things we liked - apart from fruit! And the food waste must have been huge. We didn't see anything that made me think they had thought about their environmental footprint.
I think this hotel is all about the great view but doesn't have much else to commend it.

I became ill and asked about an appointment with a doctor. The hotel has a doctor on cal. She arrived to our room, gave a complete exam and provided a prescription for an antibiotic which was easily filled in town.
Excellent service

We stayed here as part of a package deal with our Antarctica cruise--it was the assembly point before we departed.
The hotel has great views. Insane buffet for breakfast, just so much food! My waitress the first day, Marianna, was fabulous, and I do hope I remembered her name correctly. She gave me a personal maté tasting, and though it is an acquired taste (and I definitely am not interested in acquiring it) I appreciate the experience. And how else would I know that maté is not for me? They also put together a breakfast box when we needed to exit before their normal service hours--we ordered ahead of time, and they were very accommodating. The hotel is a bit out of town, so you need to depend on their hourly shuttle or uber, which is what we opted for most of the time. Very convenient and inexpensive. My one regret is that I did not go in the pool, which I only saw late on our last night. That was a beautiful space. There is a hot tub as well which I did not experience but which seemed very popular. All in all I was very pleased with the accommodations and service.

A lovely hotel perched high above Ushuaia in Terre del Fuego Patagonia Argentina with amazing spectacular view of the Beagle channel and the city. We stayed for two nights in late January in a King room (with a view).
The room with its hard-wood floors and comfortable bed felt cozy. The bathroom was equipped with rain showers, tub, toilet and bidet plus double sinks. Water and delicious chocolates were provided each day by the friendly housekeeping staff. We ate several meals in the hotel restaurant including two dinners and two breakfasts (an ample buffet was included in our room rate).
The food was good but not quite up to the level of our Buenos Aires hotel. The dining room takes full advantage of the view as well. They run a free shuttle service down (and back) to town on a fixed schedule and the hotel has an indoor pool although we were too busy exploring to find or use it. No AC IN THE ROOM but since 50 is a warm day here all you need to do is pop open one of the small windows (as we did) and it’s plenty cool for sleeping.
Room was technologically up to date but all charging ports were on the small counter under the TV-nothing bedside. Also the free WiFi was a bit pokey but that probably has more to do with the location of the town-you are literally at the southern-most city in the America’s and possibly the world here. (Att service around town vacillated between 3G/LTE!
Comfortable and cozy.

On the whole the service was good and friendly. Slightly strange experience on arrival - the hotel shuttle bus was parked right in front of the doors so we could not unload our bags - he refused to move 20 feet!!
Other than that it was all good. Good food, nice bar area and swimming pool.

This is an excellent property. The staff are friendly and rooms comfortable. The swimming pool/hot tub area is outstanding. There are three hot tubs (one large and two smaller) outside and a large hot tub and pool inside. There are two restaurants, one a little bit less formal than the other. The lobby is huge which is good because this is a hotel heavily used by cruise operators and guests are welcome to hang out while waiting for ship departure. There are a couple of nice trails directly adjacent to the hotel. Only comment I'd have is it would be nice to have coffee and tea in the rooms, just a simple hot pot and instant coffee would have been great. Highly recommended.

I had a bad experience. I tried to arrange a surprise for my wife, but not only did they not understand my request, but I was ignored when I tried to explain. The reception was surprised when we asked about VAT exemption for foreigners and said that this did not exist (whereas in Buenos Aires and Bariloche we were entitled). They made us wait 40 minutes for our dinner table when it was ready and they didn't tell us. The water in the bathtub started to come out brown and not heat up, but the staff said that was normal. When I insisted that it wasn't, they promised to send someone from maintenance, but that never happened. The covering had old wine stains. An order for the à la carte breakfast (omelet) took more than 40 minutes. The air conditioning temperature control stopped working on the last day. The staff did not want to help book a taxi to take us back to the airport, claiming that we did not book this service at check-in (although they did not inform us of this). In short, a two-star hotel that charges as if it were five, with unprepared and uninterested staff in resolving guests' problems. It appears that there is no manager or concierge at this hotel. I do not recommend.

The bedroom was comfortable and the food was pretty good. Enjoyed using the shuttles to the ski mountain and into town. The hotel needs to improve it's lighting- it was dark in a lot of areas. I would rate this hotel at a 4.25- it's SO close to a 5 star hotel, but just a few things not quite there yet. Lovely over all, had a great time- skiing was very fun!

We thought this hotel could not be beat. It’s located out of the hustle and bustle of the town on the top of the hill with an outstanding view. We paid extra for the ocean view, which was well worth it. The outside pool is set perfectly and we enjoyed spending time in it. The rooms are well appointed, and we couldn’t find any big problems with them.
We ate dinner in the restaurant. The lamb was terrific. The food and wine is somewhat overpriced, but understandable based on the remote location of the hotel.
I highly recommend this hotel.
