My wife and I (34Yo) chose the Agua Pedra dos Bicos for our delayed honeymoon holiday and we couldn't be happier! The hotel gave us an incredible room with a sea view, and very kindly surprised us upon arrival with sparkling wine and a fruit and chocolate platter. The rooms are really well equipped, the beds are huge and comfortable. The staff are really attentive and clearly happy. We ate in the restaurant on two occasions and thoroughly enjoyed both meals. Breakfast was consistently good too with small variations to the offering throughout the week. We liked also that the hotel would give you a €5 bar/restaurant credit each day if you did not require room cleaning. We would definitely visit again.

The Aqua Pedra de Bicos is a very pleasant hotel that is clean, fresh and quite stylish with a modern feel. It is located in the new town area and close to many bars and the strip ! The strip is a bit like the one in Benidorm on face value. The old town is a long walk away (35 mins) or a 10 minute ish bus ride from near the hotel. There is a lovely beach 10 mins walk away from the hotel so no need to panic if you want a close by beach. The Hotel is very clean and the staff are all lovely and helpful. Lilliana was very pleasant and always smiled when you saw her. I rooms are a good size and nice to access British channels on TV if you want to just chill some evenings with a few programmes.
The food was good but a bigger warm selection maybe more to some people’s expectations. It was fine for me. The walls are a little thin and therefore obvious noise transfer from adjoining rooms. Not a deal breaker tho😊. Overall this hotel is very good and good value at this time of year. I would recommend if you looking for a decent couples break.

The Hotel was very clean and modern, and the staff were friendly and helpful, check in was straightforward and efficient.
They have a green rewards system where you get a 5 euro coupon if you don’t have housekeeping that day, which we used twice. The only problem with that is, when you do get housekeeping the next day, your tea/ coffee supplies were not replenished, but I asked the housekeeping team for some more and they were more than happy to supply it.
The rooms were nice, ours had the side ocean view, but for a superior room I would have expected more clothing storage space.
We were B&B, and there was a good breakfast selection, but what really let the breakfast down, was the “hot” selection was not hot, lukewarm at best, and sometimes cold, we were not late entry’s, going mid breakfast times.
The pool looked inviting, and the pool area was clean and well set out, but for once in my life, I didn’t try it out, but I was informed it was cold. Overall, the hotel is a good place in a decent location from where you can set out exploring, the beach is within easy reach ( 15 mins walk) but it was windy when we went and most of the beach cafes/ bars were closed, but it was late November. The hotel is within 10 mins walk from the famous “strip” which again was a lot quieter than normal, but there are a decent selection of bars and restaurants close by.
The old town is about 45 mins walk, but we caught the little train that does a full circuit of Albufiera, but not the marina, again, a seasonal issues, the marina area is worth the walk from the old town as there are some nice bars and restaurants near the waterfront.
We both said we would visit the Algarve again, but maybe more in season.

We have stayed at several hotels in Albufeira, including the very good Eden Resort, but this hotel is now top of the list in our opinion. Having read the other excellent reviews, we now realise why there is such a high repeat of guests.
The hotel has been taken over by an American company who have invested in the hotel, some recent updating and renovation work has been done, a big improvement to an already excellent hotel. The updated rooms are tastefully upgraded. The grounds are compact and immaculate, the pool is very clean. The rear gate to the hotel enables guests to have a short cut walk to the nearby beach, but needs your room’s electronic pass to use, good security measure.
But a holiday is more than just the building which is immaculate and in a great locality. It is the staff and their customer care which make such a difference. The reception team cannot be faulted. We noted Maria, Patricia and Susanna as those who cannot do enough to help you. I broke a glass in our room and within five minutes the housekeeper had vacuumed it up.
The restaurant is busy but very relaxing, customer service remains second to none, well-staffed. Depending on the time of year the food changes from a pre-set menu to self-service buffet. Both are just superb quality; the pre-set menu is still gourmet style. The restaurant has an excellent manager (I think his name is Rui) who raises the dining experience to another level, keeps his team fully involved and standards very high, no waiting around.
Would we go again, absolutely yes, and will book early next year!

Good location if you want to be near the strip and a nice walk down to the beach. you can walk to the old town in about 40 mins and Ubers are readily available and really cheap!
Pool area was great, clean and good bar service! It’s small so imagine it’s busy in peak season.
I’d definitely stay again

We’ve just enjoyed a week’s stay at this hotel and couldn’t fault any of it.
Our check in was smooth & quick. A lovely touch being given a 5euro voucher to spend in the restaurant/bar for every day you opt out of having your room serviced.
Staff were all friendly & pleasant.
We were in room 431. It was wow! Super view, large comfy bed & pillows. Everything clean & well presented- thank you to the house keeping staff. Only negative was the balcony - a bit on the small side for 2 but that didn’t spoil our stay at all.
Breakfast was varied, plentiful & tasty. Something for everyone.
Great location too for bars, restaurants, shops, local buses, tuc tucs, land train etc.
Highly recommend and would come back again!

First impressions were horrifying. About 40 people checking out upon our arrival. People all over the steps outside. And lounging all over reception. The reception desk is like a large brown wall. Not marked and you literally can’t see staff sitting behind it. Very odd and very unwelcoming. Saggy white old sofas. Took forever to be seen. We left uk at 3am so we were very tired. Told room eventually wasn’t ready. Its was Raining so we had a hot drink in bar and went back to reception. We waited 3hrs
Long hours. We even asked if we could upgrade. None available. We were told not one thing about hotel facilities.
We both caught a stomach bug second day and spent two whole days in room 23 (reception told us overlooking pine trees). It was a tiny balcony overlooking waste ground and plagued with mozzies. Hence couldn’t use balcony through this awful time. We were so so poorly. Second day I went down for two teas and asked if they could make us some toast too. After telling her we were poorly and it’s all we could eat. Maryana told us as she couldn’t put it through till as toast and would have to put it through as toastie & chips. €9. Yes €9 for toast. Absolute zero care treated like mugs who would pay as we were desperate. We were!!
The staff don’t smile or make you feel at all welcome.
Upon check out we were talking to another four guest who caught the exact same bug!
The pool area is a lot of green trees and grass. We were bitten to bits off mozzies. The holiday at this point just kept on giving.
Upside thankfully beds and pillows. are very comfortable in room.
Jet 2 holiday sell this hotel as Albufeira. It’s not it’s in the Praia Santa Eulalia so be prepared for a walk or taxi everywhere!!
I think you can gather we would not recommend this hotel or return to it!!

Second year running we’ve stayed at this hotel and on both occasions it’s been excellent. Booked an upgraded room with a view of the pool and sea. Room was available even though we arrived at around 1.00pm which was great. Staff very friendly and informative at check in. Room was spotless and a good size. Large balcony gave great view out to sea and along the coast to Vilamoura.
This hotel caters mostly for adults and at this time of the year, there was definitely a very relaxed, quieter atmosphere, which suited us perfectly. Breakfast is a buffet with plenty of choice both hot and cold. Staff regularly restocked trays of food making sure you didn’t miss out.
Pool area was fairly busy but not do difficult to find a spot. Food via the pool bar was first class with large portions - after the first day, we would get a baguette, toasted sandwich etc between us - it was enough as the food all comes with fries. Drinks were plentiful and the cocktails were especially delicious. Again, staff at the pool bar were very friendly and helpful.
The hotel has an environmental friendly scheme ongoing. If you opt out of having your room cleaned and bedding changed they give you a 5 euro voucher for drink or food. A nice little incentive to help the environment, we chose to only have the room serviced every 2 days, which was easily sufficient.
We did have 1 issue during our stay. Along with our friends, we had booked the Tomahawk Steak dinner on the Saturday evening. Unfortunately there had been a mixup in communication and only one steak dinner was available on the night. However, I must stress the the hotel handled this extremely well. Too long to go into details, suffice to say that although we were disappointed at the time, it in no way had a negative impact on our stay. In fact our trust in the hotel and staff ended up even higher, as they dealt with the mishap extremely well.
In summery we had a great stay and are already looking at dates to return next summer.

Had 5 days at this lovely hotel , peaceful , clean , staff are very helpful and seem genuinely happy to be there ! Our room had a side sea view and was worth the upgrade , the pool area was so nice , plenty of beds and nice and quiet , people have mentioned the pool being to cold but we loved it ! A stroll to the beach but is down steps ok for us but not anyone that struggles with walking , we had breakfast in the hotel which had a lot to offer and tried my hardest to try most of it ! We ate out at night at neto and feel bith extremely good restaurants! Then we would have a drunk in the hotel bar when we came back and the lady behind the bar was so nice. And recommend a local drink which i loved
The only negative is the shower wasnt the best but thats it and it wasnt a big issue its just we have had better ! Although the big comfy bed was a definite positive!

My wife and I stayed here for a long weekend.
The hotel itself is lovely with excellent staff and beautiful immediate surroundings. We upgraded to a premium room with pool and sea view and it's well worth the extra few pounds per night.
However.....Albufeira? Never again. What a dump. It has few redeeming features. It's just a city with a now infamous Strip. Even the old town is a party goers paradise. Seeing people pissing or vomiting on the main street in broad daylight tells me everything. Avoid at all costs.
Luckily we'd hired a car and drove the length of the Algarve. If only they could lift this hotel and place it in Vilamoura.
This hotel would have got 5 out of 5 if it wasn't in Albufeira.
