Probably unlike most guests, we took the train (which was unexpectedly pleasant) from Saigon to Thap Cham from where an Amanoi driver transferred us to the hotel. Amanoi’s villas are spread around a gorgeous stretch of land on the coast of the South China Sea. The entire property is stunningly beautiful, with a lot of space between the villas. The villas’ interiors and terraces are very spacious and taste- and thoughtfully designed; ours featured a private swimming pool (thank you, Amanoi, for this lovely upgrade!) and was in short walking distance from the Central Pavilion where the main restaurant, bar, library and reception are located. A Beach Club overlooking Amanoi’s private beach serves lunch. The gym, next to the Spa above the Lotus Lake in the middle of the property, is fully equipped with up to date Technogym gear. Needless to mention, everything is in impeccable condition. When you choose an Aman property for your holiday, you come with high expectations. Amanoi exceeds them all. Top of the list of the many reasons for the fondest memories of our stay were the staff‘s consistent attention, enthusiasm, passion and kindness, represented most formidably by Nhi, the Front Office Manager who took us for an early morning walk (and Vietnamese coffee) to see the sun rise over the fishing village nearby and the villagers going about their early morning business (we love you, Nhi!). Food and drinks are excellent, the choice of Vietnamese and Western specialties carries you easily through a week’s stay and longer without the need to order anything more than once - although you may find yourself wanting to treat yourself to many things repeatedly because they are so delicious. We had the most enjoyable time we could have imagined. Highly recommended.

Having stayed at five-star accommodations from Hanoi to Saigon, we can safely say that Amanoi is the best of the best. We spent three weeks in Viet Nam (April 2024), and were so taken by this resort spa that we are back in December. April was hot and sunny. December is warm and overcast. The two are equally spectacular. Sleeping to the sound of heavy rain on the roof is magical. This latter stay exposed us to views of mists cascading down the mountains and afforded us the luxury of more time in the spas versus on the beach in April. Generally, we do not return to the same place twice for the simple reason that there is more to the world than we can see in a lifetime. Our previous stay was simply too short. There is a variety of secluded villas. Of the spa cottages, the lakeside accommodations and the ocean pool villas, we chose an ocean pool villa. The views are incredible in all directions. The warm, fresh breezes seem like a mix of rainforest and costal mountains. And, as you might guess, there is a clean, refreshing pool at your door. The cuisine is superb. Coming from the U.S., we wanted to enjoy traditional Vietnamese dishes and were delighted by the versatility of the chef in preparing those time-honored recipes and his own sensational creations. The Vietnamese enjoy pho for breakfast - a brilliant way to start your day. Thank you chef. Eclipsing all of the superb aspects of Amanoi, is the staff. From the top of the house and throughout, the employees demonstrate the warmth and sweetness for which the Vietnamese people are renown. We never saw a face without a genuine smile nor passed an employee of any station without a spirited “Xin chao!” I encourage visitors to learn two simple phrases: “hello” and “thank you”. Native speakers are delighted that a guest would take the trouble to learn even the most basic pleasantries in a language so different from our own. I got tremendous pleasure fumbling with and mispronouncing a few more words and phrases, but that’s just me. You can expect the same quality of stay regardless of how or whether you choose to interact. The staff training program is phenomenal. I have run out of adjectives and will close by suggesting that you do not shortchange yourself on the length of your stay, and consider this as your final stop on your Viet Nam trip because every subsequent accommodation will likely feel, to some degree, a bit of a step down. At first arrival, you experience a truly grand staircase and entrance to the lobby. It’s a showstopper. We arrived late and the resort GM greeted us. The resort is located in picturesque national park that we only saw upon departure. We agree this our favorite hotel globally. It is spectacular. Aman differentiates itself with its service. Amanoi staff had an exceptional dedication to our time together. Joy, the GM, is exceptionally charismatic and glamorous. Housekeeping, restaurant servers and room service delivery team were great. We requested a number of exceptions for us during the stay (early pool opening, off-menu food requests) and they worked to make them happen. Though every staff member we interacted with was helpful and pleasant, I’d like to give special mention to Sunny, Putu, Tony and Keva all of whom are world-class hospitality professionals. We stayed in Room 11, an “Amanoi Ocean Pool Villa.” It had a spectacular vista of the bay. Amazing, unforgettable view. There is a private 40’ infinity pool which was really terrific. We loved the privacy. Strongly recommend. Unlike other pavilion and villa types, it had its own private library, well stocked with books, which we used and loved. Shower and bathroom in general were terrific. We wished the wall coverings were grander like they are at Amandari and that they had Japanese style bidet toilets. A/C was bone chilling. We loved the grand view onto the bay where we could see Vietnamese fishing boats during the day at distance. At night, the bright lights of squid boats would light up the sea like stars. The only services that we had were three massages. My husband was in love with his hand massages by the talented Oanh, to the point where he had one and then went back for another. They come with the highest of recommendation. The private hydrotherapy suites, which cost about $35 an hour to use, are also lovely enough to make up for the odd lack of complimentary sauna and steam room. At this hotel you get around by buggy. You call and they come and get you. We like being as close as we were to the main lobby. It works fine, though we occasionally had to wait a few minutes. The food was all around OK — not bad, but probably the weakest element of the resort. We did like the variety of foods available. My husband has more exotic tastes and I have more (to me) traditional western tastes. We were able to both order and enjoy our respective meals. The culinary highlight was a private BBQ dinner that took place in the five-bedroom Residence 18; the staff there did a fabulous job decorating the area and creating a custom menu for us. This dinner was included with the package we booked, but we would’ve been happy if we’d paid for it too. We did not like the Beach Club. It was small, the sand was rough, and the water was a bit dirty from the nearby fishing village. I would not want to stay here if I did not have our own pool and private outdoor area. We do not like interacting with other guests while traveling and found this area to be a bit crowded. The staff at the beach club was exceptional. It was the other guests. Too common for us. The beach is really a nothing experience. There is a 25m pool swim lane (within a 110-foot pool) but if you want to swim laps, visit the 20m Cliff Pool. It’s more sophisticated, with panoramic views of the mountains and oceans. Other guests seem to be local Vietnamese and Korean guests. We were the only Americans who we identified. Also, we are a gay couple. No one cared, which is what we like. We love Viet Nam and the people. I was willing to return to Aman after a memorably poor experience at Amanpuri. I’m glad that we did because Amanoi is really spectacular. This place is truly grand, with a diligent caring staff. The views are exceptionally memorable and our villa was incredible. The following is completely unrelated to Amanoi: if you have read this far, I would l ask that you read my review of Mandapa, A Ritz-Carlton Reserve. It is a Mariott-themed cesspool. We are regular consumers of luxury Asian hotels and want to be sure that no on has to suffer the indignities we had to on our honeymoon.

Ms. Nhi and her team welcomed me and my husband with gracious hospitality, making us feel like at home. there were many activities to do that you could spend 4 days or longer without getting bored. the villa itself had full amenities (i’m so impressed that they offered sunblock as well). bed was comfortable and the room functions were very well-designed. housekeeping came to clean most of the time when we were not at the villa and they refilled everything each time (we never ran out of anything). bbq course dinner was incredible, both taste-wise and service-wise, which made me and my husband started to love vietnamese food especially the fresh spring rolls. overall, we are truly grateful for the outstanding service provided by amanoi!

We stayed here for 3 nights in May 2023 and it is one of our favorite properties we’ve ever stayed at. This was our first time staying at an Aman and it blew away our expectations. The property is stunning and service is incredible. The staff are able to predict what you need before you even ask, making it a truly luxurious and easy experience.This is one of the few Aman properties with its own private beach and is SO worth the distance to get here. We booked their wellness pool villa hideaway package and loved every part of it. If you plan to do multiple spa treatments, this is 100% worth it. Your villa has its own private pool, spa and hammam. We tried multiple services including massages, hammam, facials and pedicures and thoroughly enjoyed all of them. All amenities & experiences were great - Daily afternoon tea is a nice touch, guided snorkeling is great, the complimentary local fruit is delicious and the cooking class is in a beautiful ocean view private space. The complimentary sparkling lime ginger drink they bring to you by the ocean or pool is also very nice and super refreshing on a hot day. Our only suggestion is to have more local options at the main restaurant. We loved the beach club food but found the dinner offerings at the main restaurant to be a bit too European/tourist friendly and just ok. We absolutely loved our trip here and hope to return again soon. We would easily give this property 10/10 stars if a higher rating was possible!!

I have been to over 15 Aman resorts and this is the #1 on my list and here is why: 1) The property has something for everyone and is big yet feels tasteful 2) The general manager, Joy, is extremely well respected by the entire team and has an eye for detail 3) The food is extremely good and artfully mixes local cuisine with elevated preparation 4) The beach club is awesome! 5) The people first hospitality culture (This should be #1) Some highlights from our trip: Boat day out in the bay and snorkeling, a few hours of cold plunging at the spa house, private dinner setup that looked better than an engagement, and the housekeeping team. These housekeepers are ninjas! Every time you weren’t looking the room was cleaned, bed was made and fruit bowl was always full, huge shoutout to this team! June is hot but not unbearable! Summer months are when a lot of families visit, but we didn’t mind. Americans should stay a minimum of 5-6 nights, a ton to do. Thanks Joy! We love Amanoi and everything the team does to make it special.

Amanoi is a beautiful resort located in the serene Vinh Hy Bay. We stayed at the Ocean Pool Villa for 4 nights. The villa was spacious and the air conditioning kept us comfortable even during the hot weather. While we had our own private pool, we didn’t get the chance to use it much as the outdoor temperatures were unbearable. The view from our room was spectacular, both during the day and at night. In the evenings, we were mesmerized watching the numerous fishing boats venturing out onto the tranquil water, their white lights twinkling under the night sky, a sight we had never seen before. What really made our stay exceptional was the outstanding service provided by the Amanoi staff. Every member of the team was attentive, taking our slightest comment or feedback very seriously. The housekeeping staff, in particular, impressed us immensely. They would quietly tidy up our villa whenever we were out, leaving it looking immaculate, elevating our experience to a new level of luxury. During our stay, we dined mostly at the main restaurant, the lovely air conditioned dining room. They offered a wide selection of Vietnamese and Western cuisine. We tried only the Vietnamese dishes, all were tasty and served in generous potions. There was a beach club where they offered lunch and occasional dinner service but we were not interested because of the heat. We also took the opportunity to explore the local area. The Nha Trang and Po Nagar Temple tour, as well as the Explore the Lost Kingdom of Cham excursion, provided fascinating insights into the distinctive cultural heritage of the region. After the tours, the Sacred Cham blessing ceremony at the resort held even greater meaning for us. The ritual was followed by a Cham feast at the Cliff Pool, with the area beautifully decorated with lanterns and candles, creating a truly magical ambiance under the stars. Before our departure, we had arranged a special dinner at the Ong Nam’s house inside the picturesque Vinh Hy fishing village. Unfortunately, the event did not go as planned and we had to return to the resort. The Amanoi team’s quick response is what truly set them apart. We prepared for a disappointing evening at the time we left the village but they quickly recreated the special evening at the resort, showing their commitment to ensure their guests’s satisfaction. It is how they handled this unexpected situation that showed the resort’s dedication to excellence. I must also mention the exceptional spa services we received. The massage and facial treatments were performed professionally in the serene spa villa. We only wish we had more time to experience additional treatments.

Amanoi has quite a large area, so a buggy is needed to get to different points within the hotel. Normally, I like to walk, but it's definitely not feasible here. However, during the stay, I never waited more than 5 minutes for a buggy. The accommodations come in various types, including Pavilions, Villas, and Residences, with views of either the ocean or the mountains, depending on your preference. The room we stayed in was the Ocean Pool Villa. The view from the room was stunning, offering a panoramic view of the sea. It was so beautiful that I didn't want to leave the room. The private pool was large enough for serious swimming. The room's interior was beautifully decorated and fully equipped with amenities. Additionally, there was a complimentary non-alcoholic minibar, replenished daily. A unique feature of Amanoi is that even rooms of the same type can have significantly different views or pool layouts. It's recommended to read plenty of reviews to decide on the room number you want and request it in advance with the reservation team. The service was excellent, up to Aman’s high standards. Ms. Joy, the GM of Amanoi, warmly welcomed us throughout our stay. The staff remembered the names of the guests and addressed them by name every time. Whenever we left the room, the housekeeping team would clean it promptly. The hotel has two main pools. The first is the Cliff Pool near the Central Pavilion, offering a high vantage point of the sea. This pool provides fruit and ice cream for guests. The second pool is at the Beach Club near the hotel's private beach. Personally, I preferred the Cliff Pool because of the beautiful view. The hotel has two beach areas. The first is the main beach at the Beach Club, which offers water sports like kayaking and SUP. There are also masks and fins available for snorkeling around the beach. The second beach is Shell Beach, located to the south of the hotel. While you can't swim here, the water is very clear, making it perfect for a scenic walk. There are two restaurants at the hotel: the Main Restaurant, offering all-day dining, and the Beach Club Restaurant, which serves lunch only. Breakfast here is up to Aman’s high standards, with every dish being a la carte, well-prepared, and of high quality. An alternative option is to have breakfast in your Villa at no extra cost. Additionally, there is a complimentary afternoon tea service daily from 3:30 to 4:30 PM. Another special feature is Goga Peak, a viewpoint where you can watch the sunrise. It takes about 15 minutes to hike up, and the view from the top is spectacular, overlooking the hotel and Vinh Hy Bay. This is a highly recommended activity and worth waking up early for. Overall, I was very impressed with this stay and recommend staying for at least three nights, as there are plenty of activities at the hotel. In my opinion, the ocean view rooms offer a better view than the mountain view rooms. I definitely want to go back if I get the chance.

My wife and I celebrated our wedding anniversary at Amanoi over 3 nights and it turned out to be one of the most memorable. Not often we come to a new place and be totally at ease in knowing that everything is taken care of by a team of passionate professionals who know exactly what is best for us. This is about trust and the consistent vibe that you build from interactions with each individual. My congratulation to Joy and her team, in cultivating this culture at Amanoi. We could feel the passion, confidence, and positivity from each staff we encountered and those who had worked so hard at the background like house keeping and the ground maintenance teams. We appreciate the tremendous effort and obsession for perfection involved in making things look effortlessly beautiful and seamless. There is a network of talented people working together. The informed advice to change to cycling from the boat ride or to move our anniversary dinner indoor at the Rock Studio due to the windy weather was spot on and we had benefited greatly. We also enjoyed the waterfall hike and visit to a local family; they’re memorable experiences. To return to our villa after dinner, with the sundown service when the rose petals were tastefully and so generously decorated in our room, and when the temperature of the water in our bath was just right; this is execution at perfection. It’s not often one would remember so many names from a trip but we did: • Nhi, Doris, and Trinh - the front desk, • Son - our cycling guide, • Kheim - looking after us at our anniversary dinner • Dinning area: Suong, Lam, Tam, and Linh, • Huy - cocktail bar • Hai - waterfall guide Amanoi indeed is truly a peaceful place.

Our stay at Amanoi is an escape into a peaceful world of Aman during our holiday to Vietnam. In contrast to the chaotic Hanoi, we found a slice of peace at the sanctuary just one hour away from Cam Ranh airport. As soon as we steppe out from the immaculate transfer from the airport, we were greeted with a warm and hospitable team of staff led by Joy The General Manager, who always made sure that you have a pleasant stay. Our Ocean Pool Villa has an amazing overlooking Vinh Hy bay. Every detail in the villa was well maintained and seemed immaculate. We loved how every detail was harmonious with its natural surroundings. Make sure you check out the Cliff Pool during early morning when it was at its prettiest. And also, a short hike to reach the top of the Goga Peak is recommended to sink in the beautiful landscape of the resort.

We felt like VIPs during our stay, yet the service was never intrusive. The villa was wonderful and had an amazing view of the bay, and the infinity pool was the best! We hiked up to Goga peak and the view was absolutely stunning. The afternoon tea was great and the food was refined and delicious! We loved the zen and peaceful atmosphere and left totally content and recharged. We have now become Aman junkies!

Amanoi was our 17th Aman property stay. We do not chase after every Aman - it's quite the opposite. We always select the destination first, followed by the best available property in the area. However, in some cases Aman is the exception to the rule, because quite a few of them are destination properties in their own right - they are much more than simply a place to stay. I am happy to report that Amanoi is one such Aman. After spending 3 days at wonderful Hoi An, we concluded our Vietnam journey by being pampered at Amanoi. The GM there (Joy) was someone we knew from our time at Amanjiwo (another spectacular Aman), and we knew going in that she would be running a tight ship there. Even before arriving, everything was managed very efficiently - email communication was prompt and comprehensive. We reserved several activities in advance, and several flight changes were immediately acknowledged by their concierge staff. My affinity for Diet Coke was duly noted - the minibar was stocked with them in our Suite. Not only that, but Joy made sure that one of our favorite desserts from our time at Amanjiwo (Bika Ambon) would be prepared for us when we arrived. The overall resort is exceptionally well designed; Jean-Michel Gathy and his team of architects have built a resort that is an all-time classic and will definitely age gracefully (just like Amanjiwo) - it gives off a luxurious vibe while still offering a sense of place - a place that is remote, surrounded by unspoiled nature and earthly in tone. We requested Villa #14, a 125m² Ocean Pool Villa that was airy, tastefully furnished and decorated, had plenty of space to place one's belongings, and offered sweeping views of Vinh Hy Bay. As Amanoi is a relatively new property (opened in 2013), the Suite had all of the necessary technology and amenities of a modern, high-end Villa (fast WiFi, power plugs and USB ports, etc.) which was unlike Amanpulo and its outdated rooms (despite a recent refresh.) The pool was much more than a puny plunge pool. I was able to get in some good exercise doing laps in the Villa pool while enjoying the surrounding scenery. Dining wise, guests have the option for "standard" offerings from the menu at both the main restaurant as well as the Beach Club, or one can opt for in-room dining. Additionally, there are a plethora of bespoke culinary experiences, including private BBQ or a traditional "Cham" dinner at a venue of one's choice, be it on the beach, at the Cliff Pool, Lotus Lake or any number of other private locations.) We love Vietnamese food, so we mainly stuck with various local selections, but we did enjoy an excellent Pizza at the Beach Club, and the salad was fresh, varied and had a dressing that was full of flavor but not too sour or spicy - just right. We did opt for a private BBQ at the beach as well as a private Cham dinner at the Cliff Pool, and both were fantastic. Prior to the scheduled time, Aman sent us an extensive menu for both meals, and we worked with them to select the dishes that best matched our preferences. On top of that, the aforementioned Bika Ambon was served at both meals - prior to our arrival, Joy had provided the executive chef with the recipe, and it took six different attempts before Joy signed off on the authenticity of the dessert (it's an Indonesian specialty, which Joy is familiar with from her time at Amanjiwo.) Talk about going the extra mile for us! All of the staff are charming, enthusiastic and competent. The attitude is a bit more relaxed, which is appropriate given that Amanoi offers more of a rural vacation home-style atmosphere than a stuffier, 5-star luxury hotel. As is typically the case with smaller Aman properties, we never once were asked for our room number, nor were we presented with anything to sign at the conclusion of a meal or activity. Overall, they definitely treated us as valued guests, but at the same time made us feel that we were part of a wonderful family. And we got to know many of them very well. In a place that values guest privacy and private experience, you sort of want the staff to be a bit more engaging, and everyone did just that - with a big smile. If there was one nit to pick, it was our guide for both our local village outing and the half-day trip to an ancient Cham kingdom (Po Klong Garai Temple.) His English was very limited to the point where not only was it awkward, but after a while we gave up asking questions, because he really did not understand very simple things that we said. And the things he said were extremely difficult to comprehend. Basic inquiries such as "why are there Vietnamese flags planted every 100 meters on this road? Is it a special day, like an independence day, or is this how it always is, to demonstrate national pride" was met with a blank stare. It became so uncomfortable that we elected to cut short the Cham tour halfway through our outing. Perhaps a bit more vetting of guides (and their language capabilities) should be in order. Thankfully, our other activities were not guide dependent - a short boat cruise along the Bay gave us a good sense of the environment that Amanoi is a part of, and the cooking class with Chef Manh and assistant Thu was an absolute blast. The energy and enthusiasm - as well as the humor level - was through the roof. It was educational and full of laughter, and the food was pretty darned good, if I might say so myself. Mrs. KI-NRT had two massage treatments, and she said it was among the best she's ever had. Your mileage may very, however, since her therapist (Kimberly) was visiting for a few months and her last day at Amanoi was the same day that we departed. Overall, Amanoi lives up to the Aman ethos in a big way. I just hope that Aman would focus more on remote or unique locations that offer things that other properties cannot. Amanjiwo, Amangiri, Amankora (Bhutan) and Amanpulo are among the very finest destination properties on the planet. But most of the plans for new Amans are either city hotels (New York, Miami) or in places that already have a multitude of luxury options. Here's hoping that there will be more properties like Amanoi - ones that offer lasting memories, rather than just luxurious accommodations in familiar locations.
