An excellent way to get away

We got the premium room with an ocean view. It was a large room with King sized bed and a living room area that is separated by a short wall with a TV on each side of the wall. It has a bartender area with a fridge and 4 chairs, an open closet area with a safe, a bathroom area with a large bench space to hold our luggage. The balcony has a dining table and two large lounge beds. It was plenty of space and very clean. The floor was full on travertine; very comfortable walking around barefoot. Having the balcony with lounge beds was an excellent convenience. At times were totally lazy on the lounge beds and just stared out to pool areas and the sea. The bathroom has a large sink with two faucets. The shower was real nice with easy controls and three separate shower heads (two rain showers and one hand shower). This was over the top. The king bed was very comfortable with different levels of firm. The sheets were super comfortable to the skin. Oh yeah, the motorized blinds are a nice touch of convenience. Overall, I was very happy with the room. Dining: We tried all the restaurants on the grounds. The daily breakfasts at Casero were delicious. I had the eggs benedict, pancakes and pork sausage with eggs and hashbrowns, waffles with pork sausage and eggs, croque madame, chilaquiles with green sauce, salmon lox bagel, and huevos rancheros. All of them were good and tasty. Lunches there were also good. Gotta get their fish tacos; so tender and flaky with the perfect batter crunch. The salsas that came with it? So good, they are fire! At Awacate, they had a special Oaxacan tasting menu that we went for. While on the expensive side, we were served a lot of food. I thoroughly enjoyed each dish sample. Also had a drink from their special Mexican Gin menu that went very well with the dishes. The service was superb at every moment. The live music from the mariachis and vocalists was a nice enhancement of the scenery. Excellent dinner to start the vacay. The Nidito poolside restaurant was a nice experience while lying on the lounge bed. The service was excellent. We received plenty of help to move the umbrellas to keep us covered. The casual food was perfect for a poolside luncheon. We had fish tacos and fish and chips. Highly recommended both. At Cielomar, the service was excellent. We received much attention from the servers. The pork chop came out sizzling and delicious. I had the Sea Bass catch of the day: very tasty and flaky. Both were excellent, as we shared our entrees. We finished with the Lava Chocolate cake with ice cream. We liked this dessert so much, we when back to Cielomar another night just to have it again! At Nido, the hamachi tiridito sent waves of excellent Asian flavors in my mouth. The ate up all the shrimp tempura; so good with the dipping sauces. Then had the NY Strip Robotayaki, which was not bad for a version of yakitori in Los Cabos. We finished with a match tiramisu - fantastic finish! The Cooking Class: This was a total treat with a personal class taught by one of the executive chefs. Hector. We got to see details of preparation and to taste unique sauces for raw oysters, a fresh Mexican style shrimp cocktail, a special tuna sashimi flavored with a mixed soy sauce, and a fresh ceviche with a special signature aji sauce. Hector provided nice touches to the cuisine by talking about the background of each of the foods. Very interesting and enhanced my appreciation of the dishes. Spa: The Spa is a must do at least one day at the Viceroy. The massage, facial, and body scrub services were all excellent. The massages that I got took care of my muscles, and got me at the relaxed mental state that I totally needed. The added value of the spa is access to the hot baths, sauna, and steam shower services that are included with a treatment purchase. These services took me to another level of total relaxation and wellness, giving me much needed time to disconnect. Exercise facility: one of the best and most equipped I have seen. Includes two additional rooms: TRX/Spin studio, and an open studio for Yoga. The service of the hotel is top notch. We had a butler/concierge available to us for any questions and recommendations. Everyone on the grounds and restaurants were super friendly. We had housekeeping service twice a day. The evening turn down service was over the top. The location of the Viceroy was good as we could try some of the restaurants at a short walk. Catching an Uber on the street was easy to get to other shops and the Art Walk in downtown, which is a tourist must do. Overall, an excellent and very enjoyable vacation at the Viceroy Los Cabos. The service and friendless of the staff made the stay so relaxing.
