I don’t say this lightly: The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman is my favorite place in the world. Literally. My husband and I recently spent eight days and seven nights here celebrating our 19th wedding anniversary, and while Seven Mile Beach is breathtaking and the resort itself is everything you’d expect from The Ritz-Carlton, what makes this property extraordinary is its people. From the moment Munna welcomed us at check-in until Joyce helped us at check-out, we felt genuinely cared for. Not simply served. Cared for. There is a difference, and this team understands it. Breakfast at Seven became one of our favorite rituals because of the incredible staff. Karolin remembered us each morning and welcomed us with a smile that was the perfect start to our day. Shevi was equally warm, always greeting us with such kindness. Mafas made a point to speak to us even on days when he wasn’t serving us, which says so much about the culture of hospitality here. Amrit served us one morning and seemed determined to make sure we experienced everything the breakfast buffet had to offer—fresh-squeezed orange juice, health shots, French toast, smoothies. He kept suggesting things we simply had to try, and we loved it. Carol, who shared that she’s originally from Jamaica and has lived in Cayman for 38 years, was incredible to watch. She was constantly moving, clearing and finding table space so guests never had to wait longer than necessary. It’s the kind of behind-the-scenes excellence that can easily go unnoticed, but absolutely shapes the guest experience. And then there is OD. She served us many mornings, always remembered us and quickly became one of our favorite people. She’d tease us about whether there was tequila hiding in the wellness shots we ordered every morning. We regularly saw returning guests hugging her, clearly thrilled to see her again. By the end of our stay, we understood exactly why. We adored her, too. One evening at Seven, restaurant manager Edwin Fernandez stopped by our table and learned we were celebrating 19 years of marriage. He shared that he and his wife had been married for 25 years, offered some of the lessons he’d learned along the way and wished us many more years of happiness. What struck us most was that his visit didn’t feel obligatory or rehearsed. He stayed. He talked. He connected with us. It was a small moment that became one of our favorite memories of the trip. That same spirit followed us everywhere. At The Cupboard, Tati and her bright, sunny personality made every interaction a joy. We loved hearing about her 12-month-old little one and getting to know a bit about the person behind the service. For our ocean cabana day, Alex was phenomenal—kind, proactive and seemingly always one step ahead of anything we might need. He made an already luxurious experience feel effortless. And our anniversary dinner at Blue by Eric Ripert was everything we hoped it would be. Jacob and Adri provided exceptional service and helped make an extraordinary meal worthy of such an important celebration. Yes, the Ritz-Carlton Grand Cayman is stunning. Yes, Seven Mile Beach is paradise. Yes, the food, accommodations and amenities are exceptional. But beautiful resorts exist all over the world. People are what make you want to return. And these people are why The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman has become so much more than a resort to us. They remembered us. They laughed with us. They anticipated what we needed. Our family just returned from an absolutely incredible week at The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman, and it is difficult to put into words how special this experience was. The resort itself is spectacular, the food was exceptional, and the location could not be better—but what truly made our stay unforgettable was the extraordinary kindness and service of the people who work here. The experience began before we even arrived. Tiea-Renee from the Concierge team was phenomenal. She helped us plan our entire week, making our dinner reservations and arranging our Stingray City and bioluminescence excursions. When we arrived, she had even left thoughtful gifts in our room for us and our children. It immediately made our family feel welcomed and cared for and set the tone for the entire week. That level of service continued everywhere we went. At Seven, Irene, Mafas, Anna, and Chene took wonderful care of us at breakfast, and Clive made our dinner there equally memorable. Meskreet and Mohan at Taikun provided incredible service during one of our favorite meals of the trip. At Andiamo, Lawrence and Whitney were fantastic, and Jonathan, the mixologist at Saint June, made our time there especially fun and memorable. Our dinner at Blue by Eric Ripert was one of the highlights of the entire vacation. The food and experience were extraordinary, but Adri and Jacob deserve special recognition. We did a roughly 3½-hour tasting menu with our children, which could easily have been challenging, but Adri and Jacob were so kind, engaging, patient, and attentive that they made it an amazing experience for our entire family. It became one of those dinners we will talk about for years. The service at the beach and pools was every bit as exceptional. Ethan, Blessyl, Dev, and Patricia took such wonderful care of us throughout the week. They were consistently warm, attentive, and genuinely kind. Whether we were spending the day at the beach, relaxing by the pool, enjoying one of the beautiful cabanas, or spending our final day on a daybed, we felt completely spoiled. And then there is the resort itself. The location in the heart of Seven Mile Beach is simply incredible. The beach and water are breathtaking, and the entire property feels luxurious while still being wonderfully comfortable for a family. The cabanas and daybeds were particularly special and made days spent doing essentially nothing except enjoying the beach and each other feel like an experience in themselves. The food throughout the resort was outstanding. We had completely different experiences at Seven, Taikun, Andiamo, Saint June, and Blue, yet the quality was consistently exceptional. For a resort to have this many genuinely excellent dining options on property is remarkable. What impressed us most, though, was how personal everything felt. This is obviously a beautiful luxury resort in an extraordinary location, but beautiful hotels and beaches exist in many places. What distinguishes The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman is its people. So many members of the team remembered us, remembered our children, anticipated what we needed, and seemed genuinely invested in making sure our family had an amazing vacation. And we absolutely did. This was one of the best family vacations we have ever taken. We left with incredible memories of Stingray City, the bioluminescent bay, wonderful meals, beautiful days on Seven Mile Beach, and so many small moments of kindness from the Ritz-Carlton team. To Tiea-Renee, Irene, Mafas, Anna, Chene, Clive, Meskreet, Mohan, Adri, Jacob, Ethan, Blessyl, Dev, Patricia, Lawrence, Whitney, Jonathan, and everyone else who took care of our family: thank you for making our week so special. We returned last night from another trip to the lovely Ritz Carlton, Grand Cayman. This was our fourth visit there over a decade. By now if you are reading this review and others you should be informed that the Ritz is famous for their outstanding service and this trip was no exception. Every staff member goes out of their way to make you feel welcome and well taken care of. It's a tough recipe to master in a large organization but the Ritz nails it every time and it's worth the extra $$$$. I won't go into details about every little thing. One story that stands out though is after we arrived to our room after check in we realized we were missing the bag of duty free booze we acquired in the airport. We called the front desk and they said they'd find it. After a while it became evident it may have been lost. They called back and asked the details of the taxi we took. All I could remember was a general description of the taxi driver. They actually tracked her down and asked her to return the items since it got left in the taxi. I was astonished to have someone at our door 45 minutes later with a big smile on his face to deliver the items. If that isn't amazing customer service I don't know what is. The rest of the week was the usual week in paradise. The ocean water was 85-87 F each day. The pools were 90-91 F (thanks to my Apple Watch I can now get this info). I spent every day lazily lounging in the beach and pools. We did get rained on 3 or 4 days which was unusual but as tropical storms not too bad (although it was so heavy a few days most guests called it quits and went back to their rooms). We enjoyed the breakfast buffet daily and I'd absolutely recommend it. It is expensive but just about everything on the island is, and the quality of the food items is superb. From the omelette station to the fruit bar and everything in between, the quality is fantastic and money well spent. Most buffets water down the quality of the food but not here. It is restaurant quality all the way. Finally, I'd like to provide some shout outs for some staff who in particular stood out. We were greeted daily at the buffet by Chevi, who with her warm smile got us seated quickly. Our servers varied daily but were usually the lovely Chene (pronounced SheNAY) from South Africa who we got to know quite well with our many conversations, Michelle who always greeted us with a lovely smile and care, David, and Mafas. Edwin the GM came by and talked to us for a while and he is awesome. We were delighted to see Fitzroy who we knew from years ago (it's been 4 since our last visit thanks to Covid and the fallout). He has the same ear to ear grin on his face every day and although we didn't see him much by the beach we ran into him a few times and got caught up. Thank you also to Evan, Blysse, Rose Ann (she is fantastic), Amrit and Eva. There are many more staff who were wonderful with us but I failed to record all their names. We have never encountered any staff there who were not a joy to interact with. Please remember to tip the staff! They all deserve to be compensated a bit extra for their amazing customer service skills. We will likely make this our annual destination. Something to save up for and look forward to. We met several other families who do the same. Last but not least, we enjoyed a round of golf and while not cheap it is an excellent course and everyone we met was loving it also. We spent our last night in Andiamo and I was surprised to see it has been re done since our last visit. It is now an excellent option for good Italian food! I couldn't say the same previously (I thought it was average) but it is now worthy of the other restaurants in the resort and very good to outstanding cuisine. Looking forward already to my next trip to paradise.

Exceptional Guest Service at the Ritz!

Mrs. Sulu and I were celebrating our 35th anniversary and her 60th birthday and did so by sneaking away to one of our favorite spots to do so, Grand Cayman. To be honest, the Ritz wasn’t in our original plan, but due to broken promises from another hotel, we made a pivot, that in hindsight, was the best decision of our trip. The rooms here were clean, spacious, well appointed, and felt like they had been recently renovated. The hotel also has several on-site restaurants that serve a variety of cuisines and offer different levels of fanciness. They had a great morning coffee bar on the lagoon side, but our favorite morning spot for coffee and yummy snacks was “The Cupboard”, just off the elevators on the beach side. I could go on and on about the beauty and grandeur of the hotel, but the true magic of this property lies in its people. The Ritz promises a premium experience and in our case, they delivered on that through their employees. As an HR professional, I can truly appreciate the effort that has been put forth to not only screen and hire the right people, but to also instill a culture of exceptional guest service through the training and experience that has been provide to them. Incredible work on the part of the hotel. We encountered several examples of this throughout our stay. On our way to the beach on our first day, Adonis, who helped us with our beach set, looked up at us, paused for a minute, and then remembered our last name. We both looked at his name tag and remembered him from our stay a few years back when he worked at another hotel down the beach. It was so great to see him again and catch up on his life and family. Adonis took good care of us all week and even sent us an incredibly sweet (no pun intended) amenity for our anniversary. His service and attention was WAY above and beyond anything that we expected. Later in the week we encountered Alex, and got to know her as well. I'd always go down early to grab our beach chairs and when Alex would start her shift, she would always swing by to make sure we had the towels and shades we needed for the day. She told us she was glad she didn't blow away on that windy day, but she's tougher than she looks as I saw her slinging those 5 gallon jugs of water over her head regularly as the week went on. On our last day as we were checking out, we found a beach bag hanging on our door with a note from Alex and some incredibly thoughtful good-bye presents in it. It was a truly thoughtful gesture. And lastly there was Destiene (pronounced Destiny - apologies if I spelled that wrong) from the Cupboard. She greeted us with a big smile and enthusiastic welcome each morning when we stopped by to get our morning coffee and Chai. She was always super friendly and made sure we got everything we needed to start the day. Oh, and there was also our housekeeper, Suriti (6th floor). She was incredible as well! Our room was always immaculate and the swans and roses decoration she put together on our bed for our arrival night was spectacular! To sum it up, these were the folks that truly went above and beyond for us, but the entire staff was top notch and was responsible for truly making this trip a lifetime memory. We can't wait to come back!
