This was our 30th wedding anniversary, and we had never been to Hawaii before, and it was my dream to go. This was the 1st place to stay when we got there. (We had 3 choices of places to stay. This was the most expensive, it was facing away from any view but was very private, the picture we were shown, we picked it) Check-in was easy, then went downhill from there. We opened our door to the room we booked roughly 7 months prior to this trip. WHAT IN THE HELL!!....the mold smell, the dampness, and the 20 year old couch, damaged furniture, and needed to be painted. (Felt worse then the local roach motel) I was like, I think this is the wrong room." We go back down stairs to see about it, and we're told that the room we booked doesn't exist anymore, (but I could clearly see it below the room they had us in) the desk clerk said the one we booked is not available. But we could stay in that one -$100 LESS. PAHAHAHAHA!!! At that moment, I wanted to fly the 20 hours back HOME. They agreed to move us to the beach view room that night for the same price, but I was so tired from the 20 HOUR flight there I was like, we will do in the morning. But after taking a shower and still feeling like I needed to take another shower, (after walking on the floor, my feet were black) I was nope we moving tonight! We called back down to the desk to move, and they said sorry, but the room isn't available now they had to clean it. REALLY. I said fine well do tomorrow afternoon when we get back from our day out" We arrive to check in again. I started to ask about why the room wasn't available. The manager told me they are renovating 1 wing at a time and this one going on now. (I was like, why did no one tell us when we called the week before to confirm the booking.) And no price adjustment? As I started asking more questions, she then told me sorry, but you booked through a 3rd party and not Marriott. If so, I could do more to help. WTH! So then she gives me the new room key and says sarcastically enjoy your sunset! (Because this one was on the beach) not too much privacy. And had ants in it. The photos below were what we were shown and why we picked it. BUT THAT ROOM DOESN'T EXIST ANYMORE! But it's still on the website 🤷‍♂️ Stay away!

A beautiful property with attentive and professional staff. I was contacted by Mary S several weeks prior to my stay offering me an upgrade to an oceanfront room for an additional $200 per night. Since my husband and I were celebrating our 36th Wedding Anniversary I took her up on her offer and I was so glad I did. We valet parked our car and were greeted by EJ, welcoming us to The Wailea Beach Resort. He took care of our bags and made sure we know where check in was. At check in we were given POG juice and Kukui nut leis by the front desk attendant, who I am so sorry I didn't get her name, she was so pleasant and informative. After oohing and aahing over our room and view we went for a walk around the property and stopped in to Kapa for some Mai Tai's and appetizers. Brad was our bartender, he was attentive and made some great recommendations. Upon returning to our room flowers my husband had ordered prior to our arrival were in our room with a split of Prosecco. These flowers were the mast amazing tropical flowers I had ever received. Well done by my husband and of course the florist on property. Our room rate included the breakfast buffet the flowing morning at Humble Market Kitchin (not a mis-spelling, that's they way it's spelled). Kate was our server who was so on top of coffee refills, plate removal and recommendations on what was really good from the buffet that included everything from fresh fruit, pastries, waffles, pancakes, bacon, Portuguese sausage, Korean fried chicken and Scrambled Eggs. Lastly, I'm not sure what they put in their signature lotion but it smells amazing, I checked with the gift shop as well as the onsite Spa and neither location sold the lotion. I happen to run across a sweet room attendant and when I asked where I could get some she handed me to little bottles.. Thank you so much to everyone at the Wailea Beach Resort. We will be back next year and for a longer stay!

This is an outstanding, premier property in Maui. Uber from airport to hotel, avoid parking fees. Everything is within walking distance. Property is well maintained; associates deliver exceptional customer experience and peace and tranquility await at every turn.

We stayed at the Wailea Beach Resort for our babymoon, and it was everything we’d hoped for. Having spent a lot of time on Maui in the past exploring the island, this trip was all about relaxation. This resort nailed it with its incredible service, stunning property, and overall vibe....

We stayed at the Wailea Beach Resort for our babymoon, and it was everything we’d hoped for. Having spent a lot of time on Maui in the past exploring the island, this trip was all about relaxation. This resort nailed it with its incredible service, stunning property, and overall vibe. Service and Atmosphere The service here is truly top-notch. The staff couldn’t have been more attentive, even while dealing with some truly difficult guests (we saw one woman being so rude to the front desk—it was painful). The property itself is gorgeous, with perfectly manicured landscaping, spectacular views from every corner, and a vibe that’s straight out of White Lotus. And as it turns out, there’s a reason for that—season one was actually filmed at a resort just down the road in Wailea! No wonder it felt so spot-on. I even re-watched season one on the plane ride home, and it made me appreciate our stay even more. Room and Amenities We stayed in a king room in Hale 4 with a garden-view lanai. While the ocean view was just a peek through the trees, the real treat was being able to walk directly out to the pool from our back door. That convenience made every morning and afternoon seamless. The room itself was well-appointed, and the Nespresso machine was such a nice touch—I used it every morning. Relaxation and Activities This resort is all about unwinding. The infinity pool overlooking the ocean is absolutely magical, especially at sunset—catching it feels priceless. The water slides were a blast (don’t skip them, even as an adult), and the complimentary morning yoga was such a relaxing way to start the day. For dining, we took advantage of the resort’s free shuttle to nearby restaurants like Monkeypod Kitchen. It was super convenient, and we loved walking back to the resort after dinner. Dining and Budget-Friendly Tips We ate at both on-site restaurants, and while the food was excellent, the prices are what you’d expect at a luxury resort. Cocktails at the pool were $24 each, which adds up quickly, but we balanced it by mixing drinks in our room. We also stocked up on groceries—yogurt, fruit, and snacks—for breakfasts and lunches, which helped us avoid eating out every meal. For dining out, we recommend Lineage in Kīhei for amazing food with a local vibe. Getting Around Because we planned to stay mostly at the resort, we skipped renting a car, which saved us the $45/day parking fee. Instead, we used the Maui bus ($2 per ride or $4 for a day pass—cash only) and a few Ubers. It worked perfectly for this trip, but if you’re planning to explore the island in-depth, a car would definitely be more convenient. Final Thoughts Yes, the Wailea Beach Resort is expensive, but it’s worth it for the service, stunning property, and those unbeatable views. If you’re looking to splurge on a special occasion, this is the place. Watching the sunset from the infinity pool, enjoying the incredible vibes, and relaxing in such a beautiful setting made this one of the most memorable trips we’ve ever had. If you’re even considering staying here—just book it.

The property is not handicapped friendly. Being old we found it very difficult to get around with all of the steps at the property....

The welcome given guests is wonderful. The location is perfect. We got the garden Lanai room. It was absolutely beautiful. Unfortunately things went down from there. The property is not handicapped friendly. Being old we found it very difficult to get around with all of the steps at the property. Elevators were hard to find. The BIG disappointment was that when we went to use the "private" outdoor shower and tub we realized everyone on the floors above could see us. The reason for this is the curtains surrounding the outdoor tub area were too short by at least an inch. The two curtain sides do not meet in the middle. You could see right into the tub. I so wanted to try bathing in a garden. But I was not going to expose the children in the room upstairs to seeing a naked old lady. The one thing I had looked forward to was ruined. Using the indoor shower was almost as bad. When turned on it sprayed out onto the bathroom floor, leaving it very slippery. I mentioned I am old. I was so afraid of falling on the slippery tile I didn't want to use that shower either. This property is not worth the money.

I stayed in room 7325 at the Wailea Beach Resort Marriott Maui from February 22-28, 2025 as a company reward. My experience was completely ruined by unacceptable administrative management and what I can only define as fraudulent behavior. Already at checkout, just hours before our flight, we found ourselves having to dispute several charges for services we never used! After obtaining the removal of these improper charges, we received a zero balance invoice and paid what was due. But the real scandal began afterward: in the days following our departure, we discovered with indignation additional duplicate charges on our credit card, without any authorization! What infuriates me is that despite countless attempts to contact the hotel and Marriott customer service over the past 5 days, we have been totally ignored! No response, no explanation, no respect for customers! We were forced to file a dispute with our bank. It's shameful that a brand like Marriott allows this predatory behavior toward their customers. Warning to travelers: stay away from this resort or you risk finding unauthorized charges and being completely abandoned if you seek assistance! I have never received such contemptible treatment from a luxury hotel. Unworthy of the Marriott brand and unacceptable at any level of service!

Booked a Garden View, however as a Titanium Elite we were upgraded to "Ocean View" which turned out to be a view of the Lobby, Main Building Roof, Solar Panels and A/C equipment - we ended up asking for the Garden Room back and gave us late checkout (Thanks!). Breakfast voucher a Starbucks was meh - higher end Marriott Properties such as the Mauna Kea do better with a full breakfast. The Adult only Maluhia Pool was a disappointment - typical resort - all chairs taken by 9:00 am, no enforcement. Some jerk had a bluetooth loud speaker blaring over the already piped in xmas music and was drinking beers out of his own cooler. The Pool Attendant didn't really care, he spent at least 2 hours hawking Maui Jims instead of managing the pool. We did manage to get chairs and stayed all day however was not relaxing - reminded of me of a Party Pool at Mexican all-inclusive. On a positive note, we checked out the Olakino Wellness Pool. Savannah invited us in and did a great sales job. We end up spending a 1/2 day there - fantastic!! Highlight of our trip - absolutely outstanding experience. Savannah, Stephan and the other attendant(sorry forgot her name) provided fantastic service. Best part of the Hotel, well done Savannah and Team!

We were fortunate enough to get to spend another 10 nights at the WBR this October. It is our 3rd time back to Maui and the WBR, and we will always choose this resort as our 1st choice. I have written a previous review of one of our previous stays that includes more tips and ideas that we found helpful, so I won't repeat those here. However, one thing that stays consistent and needs to be expressed always is that the staff, grounds and rooms are always spot on. It starts at the top and Angela V. needs to be congratulated. It is evident that she takes great pride in her overseeing this resort, and it shows in the product. She and her staff even surprised us and arranged for us to stay in the same, fantastic room we stayed during the previous two visits. A couple of shout outs to staff... Adult Pool: we hung out at the adult pool a lot and were always taken care by Ryland, Mario & Shay. Their attention to you is just the right amount -where you never run out of water, drinks or items off the menu; but they never hover around and interrupt your tranquility. We also ate lunch at the Sunset's Bar almost everyday where we enjoyed the view and conversation with the bartender on duty. While they are hustling their tales off preparing the drinks for the pool visitors, they were gracious and polite to allow me to bombard them with questions and my Dave Matthews Band excursions. From Mariko's infectious laugh - to Aaron's expertise at cocktails (and music) - to Mark A's conversations, we really enjoyed or brief time at lunch each day. In addition, we would not have gone there to eat everyday, unless the food was great. We are still talking up the cheeseburgers that we ate, when we strayed away from the fresh seafood choices. Maui Jim Manager: we cant say enough how pleasant, polite and attentive Jahdiel was to us. We really enjoyed seeing and speaking with him the days he was at our pool. Starbuck's: We are fortunate enough to take advantage of the Starbucks on site and there were a couple of staff member that always made my decaf poor over order pleasant...Taylor & Courtney "thank you!" Drivers: all of the staff that help provide the transportation are polite and attentive. We were lucky enough to get to have Romel multiple times and he was always so pleasant and happy. Nalu Adventure Pool: This is a popular pool for the families, but you adults need to venture over and experience the two slides. The half-shell slide is really cool, and the other slide is a rocket-ship. Do not stay here without experiencing these slides. Needless to say, we really love visiting Maui and the WBR is the main reason. Thank you Angela for running such as great resort and providing us such wonderful accommodations and experiences. We cannot wait to return!

Think, a diner at a truck stop at 2 am serving you grilled ahi. My $$$$Caesar salad was whole lettuce leaves in a bowl with cheese on the top and soft slices of bread as the croutons. Dressing served on the side and tasted like it had been in the fridge for weeks. One glass of wine and a soda came at the end of our dinner. Half the Staff seems depressed and some kinda angry. Phone buttons don’t work. App doesn’t work half the time. But there’s the beach, so the place is packed. It’s corporate vacationing and it’s clear everyone doesn’t care. Our 12 hour laundry took 3 days and we had to beg for it back. Staff seems underpaid, undervalued, and annoyed. Kinda crazy to see the positive reviews here. But the beach, wow!

This was our 8th time to Hawaii and our 6th time at the Marriott. It never disappoints. We had a little confusion on the room but the Manager Frank came through for us in a big way. The room was absolutely spectacular, with a deck that was steps away from the ocean, lounge chairs and a table and chairs where we ate breakfast every day, listening to the waves break and dolphins swim. All of the staff were outstanding, especially the bellmen and house keepers. The pools are spectacular, and they even added another one at the spa. The adult poo is awesome, as is the kids pool and the other 2 everybody pools. New pizza place, pretty good and convenient, free chocolates each day, from a local business and the car that will take you to other locations in the area, we used it for dinners. We didn’t think we would return but had an opportunity, so we went and all is as beautiful as it was before. If you go to Wailea you must stay here, it is the only hotel that is so close to the ocean because it was built before new zoning rules came into effect. A perfect paradise to relax, rejuvenate and get into the Aloha spirit. Hope to return one more time…..

Great location in Maui, no car needed if you don’t want to grab one at the airport you can always grab one onsite if you want. Pools are nice and oceanfront is beautiful. Hotel was clean and to a 4 star standard however more overpriced then it should have been (yes even for Maui) and the front desk staff at check in are horrible. Better options available through Airbnb if you want 5 star and don’t want to eat at the restaurants onsite every night (which you don’t want to do, there is WAY better food on other parts of the island and nearby).

The Marriot Wailea Beach Resort is a true beach resort. There are many pools including an adult only infinity pool overlooking the ocean which was my favorite. It does get crowded but there were always seats available. Our room was a Premium Ocean Sundeck room in Hale 2 which are the closest rooms you can get to the ocean (see photo). It was perfect for watching sunrise and sunset. The service was always friendly especially two of the front desk women, Melanie and Vatu. Wailea Beach is a short walk and you can get free chairs and an umbrella as long as they are not already taken. It’s best to get there around 8:00 am when they open. We ate at Humble Kitchen for Happy Hour and the food was delicious especially the Charred Brussels & Cauliflower. This is our second time at the Marriot Wailea Beach Resort and it won’t be our last.

A beautiful resort in a beautiful place, but a few peeves that could be so easily fixed. 1. Check in They contact you a week in advance of arrival and ask you when you’re checking in. We were getting there at 2pm. We get the obligatory “we only guarantee your room at 4” response but why ask if you’re not going to try to accommodate? When we arrive, we’re told the room isn’t ready but they will text us when it is. 4pm rolls around and no text. We go to the desk, the room is still unavailable. I say that’s not good enough and so they find us a different room. We get to our room about 4:30, late from the “guaranteed check in” time, not the same as the room we booked and no accommodation for what was not an unreasonable check in time, advised a week in advance. No real effort to apologise or make this up to us. 2. Car park The self parking was a nightmare because the swipe card for the car park never worked ever. It wouldn’t work going in to the car park, it wouldn’t work going out of the carpark. You’d go and get it reprogrammed and it would work once and then fail again. Every time you pressed the buzzer to contact them they were bemused that this could ever happen. They charge USD49 per night for the privilege of self-parking. At that price you deserve an access card that works. 3. Room keys They give you wrist bands for your room key. That’s great because you can use the pool and swim and not worry. But like the carpark access card, it’s one of those room keys that works on your actual room door about once in every 10 tries. It gets tiresome when you’re paying around USD1000 a night all up, to have to spend about a minute hoping that if you hold your wrist band a certain way your very expensive room might be available to you. Must do better here. 4. Housekeeping There’s no ability to signal with a sign or anything when you want your room made up so you are at the mercy of the attendant. Our attendant decided to come between 4pm and 6pm every day. That’s very late in the day and a long time to spend with old towels and bedding. You should be able to signal you want an early room refresh, or they should just come at a reasonable time. 5. Food For a resort this expensive you’d expect the food to be amazing. It was bland and often not that well prepared. The lobby bar is a mobile cart and only has cans of beer available, nothing on tap. The pizza truck serves pretty average pizza and the pool service food was cold when it arrived, bland and disappointing. Again, not what you expect for the price. These peeves aside, the pools are beautiful and the location is stunning. But these peeves shouldn’t exist in a place where you’re paying these kind of prices. We would be back, but I’d really hope not to have these experiences again. I’m pretty surprised I have to say that people who pay this kind of money put up with them.
