Reviews of TRS Coral Hotel
Great property, good food, nice rooms, beautiful beach and pool areas. A special thank you to all the staff and especially our butlers Sofia and Fernando in building 2. They went above and beyond to make sure we are taken care off. We Will definitely be back!!
Great experience at TRS Hotel. Good views, good drinks, and clean living conditions. All around great experience. Many different food options and the entire staff was nice and professional. Spa was amazing, would recommend to couples. Ask for Freddy if they give you an option!
The show was amazing, food was fantastic. First time I felt like I was eating a 7 course meal from top chef. Never been to a cabaret show and this didn't disappoint. Performers were beautiful and very talented

We stayed at TRS Coral from March 1 to March 7th and had an amazing time. It was our first time at TRS Coral but we had stayed at TRS Yucatán eight times prior.
We booked through Wyndham rewards and the only room type available when you book is a garden suite. We had requested two beds and either a top floor room or a swim out. When we got to the hotel and checked in and were brought to our room there was only one king size bed. They told us that it was because there were too many weddings and not enough rooms with two beds, but that they could possibly move us the next day. They didn’t try to upgrade us or anything the first night. The next day we went to the front desk and they said they had no rooms in this category type with two beds available until Wednesday (it was Sunday). But they said they could upgrade us to a swim out suite with two beds for $100 a night for Wyndham members (we are Diamond). After going to breakfast and thinking about it we decided we would take this offer and we were able to switch rooms around 4:30 PM (even though they told us 3). After this it was smooth sailing throughout the week.
We really enjoyed the swim out suite it was heaven waking up and being able to open your balcony door and go right into the pool. It had a wonderful porch with 2 swings and private Bali bed. I highly recommend this room type.
Hector our first butler in building 1 booked all our reservations for the week the first day we got there. No issues except they really persuade you to book restaurants on the TRS side. When we moved we were moved to building two, facing inwards to TRS pool, the second building from the ocean. I recommend this building as it was very private and close to everything. The butlers there, Mel and Ivan sent daily messages with each days activities and always checked in to see if we needed anything. They were excellent. Overall this resort is a lot smaller than yucatan and you can walk everywhere on both the TRS side and the Palladium side. We walked everywhere and only took a small cart maybe twice the entire week and that was because we were in a rush.
All the restaurants are similar to Yucatán. But I might say they are actually a step higher than Yucatán. We enjoyed El Gaucho the most, followed by Sumptori Hibachi, Helios and then the Isla Blaca buffet. Service was excellent at restaurants and the buffet. We loved the sports bar too. The only time I had a stomach issue was the first day and it was from the large margarita I got at the airport outside near the shuttles. I don’t recommend doing that.
The food and service was outstanding. We also enjoyed the entertainment. We liked the red shoes band, the blue shoes band, the karaoke with band was really fun. We enjoyed going to the gravity bar and they had a DJ or other entertainment. One night they had casino night which was fun. Not real money though, just fake money. We didn’t make it to Chic this time. We missed the White party because it was on Friday night, and we left Friday. I didn’t see anything about the 20s party.
This resort is very different than TRS yucatan. The best part of this resort is the swim out rooms. It will be hard to go back to a regular hotel room after that. We also normally spend the day at the Infinity pool in the yucatan but at TRS coral we spent the day in our private pool. The beach was very nice, water very blue/ turquoise, and the waves seemed a little more active than Yucatán.
We did prefer the activity at night more at yucatan I think. It’s a tough competition. At the yucatan they always have a 70s night and an 80s night at Colonial and I never saw anything like that advertised. And we certainly missed our favorite band Conclasse. But all in all it was a great, relaxing trip and I gained at least 5 pounds because the food and desserts were very good. No complaints about the food at all.
I must say again that the service was excellent. From the maids to the butlers to the waiters and the bartenders, and entertainment staff. All were excellent and top notch.
Jesus and Luis at the Gravity bar took really great care of us and were extra friendly and attentive. We loved them!!
Bring lots of $1’s for tipping this wonderful staff!!

You have to do the guacamole class with Reuben and Manuel. Very informative, they really make it fun! We learned about the utensils, ingredients and recipes. This resort has many activities, and the entertainment team will keep you busy if you partake.

First trip to TRS Corral and upon arrival, thought we may be disappointed. Arrived mid afternoon (1 PM). Check in started smooth, verified the type of room we booked. Immediately gal at check in tried getting us to upgrade the room. Told her we were not interested and then it became a bartering game as she was quoting lower prices for upgrade and room is ready immediately. Once again said not interested and were told our room was not ready now and to come back at 3PM. As we left, we were then bombarded by staff member to learn about palladium rewards and we'd get free massages and show. Thought holy cow! only been in the lobby for 15 minutes. No one at check in explained about the butlers, how to access them, meet them to get things accomplished such as dinner reservations, etc. Had to ask staff next day near our room about how to get in touch with butler. Once acclimated, have to say the food was very good. La Boheme, El Gaucho, and Tentazione great restaurants all with great staff. Isla Blancha (Buffet) can get quite hectic as it is a shared restaurant with the Grand Palladium. Capricho a great choice for breakfasts. Staff (servers, housekeeping, butlers) all friendly and accommodating. Beach area beautiful!
Rooms are spacious, well decorated, clean and functional.
On a final note I would like to give a special thanks to our server ULISES at the beach. He made every day very enjoyable to relax on the beach. He is very attentive, works hard and extremely personable. Thank You Ulises! We'd come back just to see you!

This was our second time at TRS Coral and it didn’t disappoint. Between the pool and beach you can’t go wrong. However, I would recommend lots of sunscreen while on the beach because there is limited shade. The waiters at the beach and pool are great and the pool attendant Fernando was amazing. He was very attentive and always made sure we had a beach lounger with towels and plenty of shade. He quite literally is the best.
The restaurants on the TRS side of the resort are very good. We didn’t have a bad meal but we’re not picky and like to try new food. Drinks were great as well.

This was our 2nd stay at TRS Costa Mujeras and it didn't disappoint.
The entire staff was great and so friendly and eager to make our stay excellent.
Our butlers, Misal, Edwin and Jose attended to all the needs in our loft.
Fernando our pool butler made sure my wife was always comfortable and always checked in on us.
A special shout out to Ramon with the activities crew. while paddleboarding I lost my prescription sunglasses. Ramon REFUSED to give up looking for them. Using goggles, & for over 15 minutes we searched for them and although I wanted to give up, he never did & found them!
At the restaurants The servers & the food were great. We love the steaks & the way they are prepared in Mexico. they're our favorite anywhere. Eduardo our server at El Gaucho is the best:)
My only complaint is with the reservations dept. & the check in/ reception staff. So many issues trying to pay for my room & resort upgrade. Wish there was better communications on their part. There was issues with the payment up until our last day even!
Besides that a great stay!
A thought, If you receive good service don't forget to tip! The entire staff works so hard to please us all. It's the least we can all do to show our appreciation.

Carlos was great! The check-in process was smooth. We were served amazing
mango cocktails and our bags were taken care of upon arrival. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming, and the spaces are beautiful. Look out for Carlos he was great!
We stayed at this property for three nights, we are a wonderful experience. The rooms are spacious, neat and clean our’s came with a hot tub. We had a personal assistance on each floor for anything we needed. Thanks to Bryan and Lupita for their amazing suggestions.
The experience at the TRS hotel was pleasant and happy. Especially, "LESLIE" who works in the lobby welcomed us. She was very kind and was very touched by the consideration of greeting in Korean.
Thank you!
Everything was amazing!! The service was fantastic. We celebrated our anniversary here and hope to come back soon. Junior served us in la Boheme and he was very attentive, quick and so so kind. Everything we tried was so good, chef Jose did a great job.
Fantastic butlers at Costa Mujeras
We had three absolutely amazing butlers — Jose, Edwin, and Misael — who made are trip spectacular. They were so attentive and friendly, ensuring we had an enjoyable and relaxing seven-day stay. They fixed several room-related issues promptly.
Wonderful romantic dinner!
Our waiter Aaron was wonderful and very meticulous! The Chef Jose was top notch and provided delicious plates. I recommend the Blanquette and Beef stroganoff with all my heart! They were delicious and perfect portions!
We had our wedding here on March 8th, 2025. It was the best time of my life. Everything was amazing. The hospitality was great. Thank you to our butlers Hector and Misael who were awesome coordinating everything. We had first time travelers who also were so amazed by the service...

Resort was classy and grounds well-maintained. Excellent variety of restaurants and food was plentiful and delectable. Chic Cabaret was entertaining, showcasing outstanding talent. Our Butlers (Hector & Misael) were helpful, attentive and friendly as was all resort staff.
Alberto was the best waiter at the TRS pool and he did not let us lift a finger! Great experience and would recommend the hotel to anyone. Roger was also good for the short time we had experience with him.
Beautiful Property but Customer Service needs Improving

This was our first stay at TRS. We have been vacationing in Mexico several times a year since 2006 and have stayed at many resorts in the Cancun area. We are not fans of Time Share type resorts but decided to give this resort a try. We booked our stay online about a year in advance. When we made our reservation, we indicated that we would be celebrating our 20th Anniversary. In all correspondence with the resort (butler) prior to our trip, we mentioned that we would be celebrating our 20th anniversary. When we checked in at the resort, we mentioned our 20th anniversary and the date. When our butlers came to the room to meet us, we mentioned our anniversary. Our entire stay, not a single employee wished us “Happy Anniversary”. We were not given any notes or towel decorations in the room. At dinner, nothing was said or done. We are accustomed to resorts that go the extra mile to celebrate with their guests with a note in the room or rose pedals on the bed, tables decorated with a heart or rose pedals, maybe a special dessert for the occasion. We were very surprised and disappointed that TRS Coral doesn’t do anything unless you are a Member or pay for the Premium upgrade.
Prior to Arrival
The transportation company affiliated with the resort contacted us about a week before our trip to arrange transportation. We prefer private transportation instead of shared. The rate they quoted was quite high so we booked through USA Transfers. They were much cheaper and kept in contact with us. I would highly recommend them.
A week before our arrival, we received an email from Vianey Mora, E-Butler with a link for the “Wish List”. The list had one time for maid service. I think it was 8am – 12. It listed an option for a scent in our room for an extra $25 per DAY. Most resorts scent the rooms for free. It also had a list of water and soda’s that we could get. The email indicated that anything outside of the list would incur an additional charge. No liquor was listed.
Check In
The check in process went smoothly although not much information was given to us about the facilities or restaurants. Brayan told us to download the app. Everyone a white or black TRS baseball hat which was a nice surprise. TRS uses bracelets as room keys. As much as I disliked having to wear the bracelet, it was very convenient to know you always have your room key with you.
We asked about dinner reservations and they said we could talk to the lady at another desk or just wait for the butler. I had read many complaints about the butlers and guests having trouble making dinner reservations so I was a bit concerned. The lady was busy with another guest. We waited for a short time then decided to go to our room and come back later.
Butlers
Download the What’sUp app prior to arrival. The best way to stay in touch with your butler is through the app. They have a desk on each floor for the butlers but they are often out and about so the app is the best way to reach them.
ROOM – LOFT SUITE
We had a loft suite in building 2 facing the water and one of the family buildings. As soon as we got into the room, two of our butlers (Edwin and Jose) knocked on the door. We made reservations for 3 nights then had to check back with them on Sunday for the new schedule and we made the remaining reservations.
I had joined two Facebook fan pages prior to our trip so I could get familiar with the resort and ask questions. One of the questions, I had asked was if we could get Bailey’s in the room. Several people said yes, that they switched our one of the bottles in their room. A few said that they tipped their butler well and could get any liquor they wanted. I asked if they upgraded to Premium and they said no. When we made our reservation, the website indicated that we would have 3 or 4 bottles of liquor in the room. We didn’t have any in the room. When we met the butlers, I asked if we could get Bailey’s and the answer was no because we didn’t pay for the premium upgrade. My husband asked for rum and was given a 375 ml bottle. We have never been given small bottles at any resort we’ve been to in the last 20 years.
The loft suite is very spacious; two levels; Half bath on the first floor and a full bathroom on the 2nd floor; mini fridge on both levels with water and juice. The water is in glass bottles and cans. The canned water had a metal taste and wasn’t appealing to us. There is a bottle opener in the room for the glass bottles. I’d strongly suggest you get a plastic bottle of water from the lobby bar to use in the room. We would open the glass bottles and pour them into the plastic bottle to use for brushing our teeth and drinking. It is very easy to accidently drop one of the glass bottles and end up with glass everywhere.
The room did have a slightly musty smell when we first entered it but after that I didn’t notice it again. We didn’t bring DampRid with us and we didn’t feel that we needed it.
The rooms have shampoo, conditioner and shower gel in the showers and lotion by the sinks. There are robes and slippers in the closet and an umbrella.
The rooms do NOT have a beach bag. I saw some at the pool but I think you have to be a timeshare member or upgrade to Premium in order to get one. Pack accordingly.
The room lights were a bit different than we were used to and took awhile to figure out how to get them adjusted to our liking.
If you want housekeeping to come, be sure to turn the green light on. The same thing applies to the nightly turn down service. If you don’t turn the light on when you leave for dinner, they won’t come in the room. We had no problems with daily housekeeping and nightly turn down service. In fact, our night time person, Jose, would leave us a thank you note every night when he got the tip we left for him.
Beach & Main Pool
Our first day, we went to the beach. Unfortunately, it was windy so you couldn’t use the umbrellas. If they had palapa’s at the beach instead of umbrella’s, the wind wouldn’t be an issue. I didn’t want to get burnt so we only stayed there an hour or two. Roger was the beach waiter and provided good service. We went to the main pool. Most of the chairs had towels on them even though nobody was sitting there and no personal belongings were around. Apparently, none of the employees pick up towels from the chairs when guests refuse to put them in the bin when they leave the pool. Since, we were there over Valentine’s weekend, the resort was at a high capacity. You had to get to the pool early to get a chair. I didn’t like that the chairs are two sets that share an umbrella with another couple. If you want to turn the umbrella so you have shade, the other couple might not want you to move the umbrella. It was very awkward. I’ve never seen that set up at another resort. However, if you travel with other couples, it is the perfect set up.
Ulises was our pool waiter for the majority of our stay. He was wonderful about checking on us often.
Bars
The bars have brand name liquor. Some of the higher end liquors cost extra. They use plastic glasses that they reuse. You can tell they are reused because the logo on most of the glasses has worn off over time. Fortunately, they will fill up your Yeti or whatever bottle you bring with you.
Every night, we would stop in the lobby bar to get a drink to take to our room and Yuli was usually working and always had a big smile for us. In the mornings, we would see many people in there getting coffee instead of going to the Grand Palladium side.
Grounds
TRS/Grand Palladium is a beautiful resort. The décor in the lobby and restaurants is very nicely done. None of the restaurants felt crowded.
The resort is not so overly large that you can’t walk to wherever you wanted to go on the TRS or Grand Palladium side. However, they had golf carts taking people from one building to another. The drivers went way too fast with no regard for the people walking. We were almost hit several times. They expected the people walking to jump out of their way.
We would run every morning. We tried running inside the property but it wasn’t large enough to get in enough miles without going back and forth many times. We discovered there is a wonderful, wide, concrete path outside the resort that goes for miles. You’ll pass several other resorts and some new construction but it felt relatively safe.
Inside the resort, any of the groundskeepers that we passed were always very friendly and waved and said hello or good morning, etc. It was greatly appreciated.
Restaurants
We ate at all the restaurants on the TRS side and the Indian on the GP side. The food was good. Since food is subjective, I won’t go into details. However, we were disappointed that there weren’t more seafood options on the menus. We were surprised by the attitudes of the hostesses. Most acted like you were putting them out by wanting to eat in their restaurant. We’ve never encountered that behavior at a resort. The only exception was Vaness at the Indian restaurant. She asked us if it was our first time and if we were celebrating anything special. Our waiter that evening, Carlos, was also very friendly. Most of the restaurants made us feel rushed. At one restaurant, the waiter brought our appetizer and soup at the same time then later tried to take my entrée away before I finished eating it. Since we are on vacation, we are not in a hurry. It felt like they were only interested in turning over the tables.
Church
There is a Chapel on the Grand Palladium side (easy walking distance) that has a Catholic Mass on Sunday’s at 2:00pm. The mass is in English but they play songs in Spanish and the Priest gives a homily in English then Spanish. He was a delightful young man that had only been a Priest for two years. It was very nice to be able to attend Mass without having to take a taxi/uber off the property.
