This used to be our go to place, sadly I’m not sure we will ever stay here again. Everything has changed. This property is run down despite new renovation and the level of quality of food and food service is seriously lacking. What a shame. One of our favorite places has turned into a hugely disappointing experience. Upon arriving front desk informs us that we had two reservations booked. The website was acting up and Marriot bonvoy membership wasn’t working correctly. Obviously a mistake however she decided to handle the situation by telling us “there may be a penalty for having to cancel a double booked reservation” (we made the reservation the night before at 7pm and flew two hours from CA to arrive at 10:30am.) Clearly extremely poor hospitality and etiquette to treat guests like that. Obviously management had to get involved and finally apologized and corrected it. Food quality is so disappointing as this place once had GREAT food. They have absolutely ruined it. They closed Marietas wonderful dinner completely. Mita Mary is totally changed and food was disappointing. My shrimp and steak tacos came undercooked practically raw and prices are ridiculous. Quality terrible. Pool food is YUCK and drinks SUCK!!!!! They took away the lobby bar drinks like my favorite corn tequila drink cocktail , no more tacos el pastor or churros. Those delicious craft cocktails are gone. Now it’s just a cheesy lobby ho hum bar. The grounds are severely affected by dying plants. All of the palms are dying, everywhere is orange, yellow dying plants that were once lush and green. It is completely obvious that this property is run down, completely changed into an environment that I probably wouldn’t want to visit again. The pool tiles, walkways are falling apart. So rundown and just sad to see. Especially when we could go anywhere, when Four Seasons and Auberge are close by and we never would have wanted to switch because we used to love it so much here. It’s SO SAD to write a review like this about a place like this that once was my favorite and it’s just not the same anymore. :(

The St. Regis brand is lauded for their exceptional service and while they are a top luxury brand, there were a few misses during our week long stay. The property is beautifully maintained and everyday, we saw crews trimming the hedges just right, fixing one of their many water fountains, and raking the sand. Prior to our arrival I arranged transportation to/from the airport and the directions provided were very precise. Upon entering the gate for the resort, you are ensconced with the beautiful, lush greenery of the property. The property is huge as it shares the golf course with multiple resorts within the gates to include the Four Seasons. On your first trip to the property, it is a rather long drive as they want you to take in your surroundings, however, during your stay if you leave the property, they take a shorter exit. When we arrived, we were escorted to the veranda where we were welcomed by the lovely Jessica, who went over our reservation and explained the property. We were asked if we would like the NYT and USA Today daily and we chose the paper edition of both. We were excited to have a full printed newspaper that we could enjoy during breakfast. After about 20 minutes, we were shown to our room and within 10 minutes, Jaime, our assigned butler, arrived to go over their services as well as the room. We had a huge garden view room with a partial view of the ocean that included a private balcony as well as an outdoor shower that was lovely. Having a butler was very nice because you could text them for anything. I especially liked that each day, you could get 2 items pressed per person and they will also run you a bubble bath with salts which came in handy after a full day of excursions. The only complaint we had for the rooms was that the toilet lids did not soft close and instead, slammed down and also, they have the cheap Conair hair dryers, the ones that smell like it's going to catch fire if you use it for too long. I made the mistake of leaving behind my travel hair dryer and I implore you do not leave yours behind as you will regret it. The next day we awoke to discover that the "printed paper" left in our door handle, were just photocopies of each paper and not the whole paper either, so that was a bit disappointing. When we arrived for breakfast, another disappointment was that the free breakfast was only for the buffet. Although they have a menu, it is not free if you order from it. That was shocking because one of our favorite resorts is the Waldorf in Cabo and our breakfast could be ordered from the menu and their food was gourmet and delicious! As we were headed to the pool, I did not see a beach bag in our closet and when we contacted the butler, we were told that they do not provide beach bags! But guess who does, The Waldorf in Cabo! I had several beach bags at home and left them because I assumed the St. Regis would have provided one. Seriously, for the amount of money you pay per night, that is the least they could do. They do have 3 pools on property and only 1 is for adults only which was nice. The chairs are on a first come basis, so each day, we stopped by before breakfast to claim our chairs as we did not want to get stuck with a chair without umbrellas. When you look at the menu, it states that they provide fresh, complimentary snacks daily and that was so far from the truth. Only one day, did they bring around skewers of fresh melon, which I cannot eat. The Four Seasons Wailea, brings their guests fresh snacks, ice cream and etc, about every hour while you are hanging out poolside. The only thing St. Regis provided were complimentary ice buckets filled with bottles of water which was needed and very much appreciated. During our stay, we stopped by the spa and had a wonderful couples massage from Diana and Taymi. Their guide Neidit was also very nice and helpful with the lockers. While we had a wonderful and relaxing stay, it would have been nice if they had a lounge area to hangout or something to do on property. They do have several bars you can enjoy and we did enjoy hanging out with the guys in the lobby bar. The entire staff and the drivers were top notch and very professional. Thank you Alejandro for trying to find Luna (the resort cat) for us!

TL;DR - it's a beautiful property with stunning hard product. The service was generally awful. We booked a five night paid stay in a one bedroom suite booked through our Luxury Travel Advisor. As Marriott Ambassador members we applied Suite Night Awards and were upgraded to a one bedroom villa. The villa was stunning. A beautiful space with a stunning beach front living room, kitchen, bedroom and enormous bathroom. There was also a small 3/4 bath off the living room. Our stay began with a check in at the lobby, not in the room. Most hotels with villa level rooms perform check in activities in your suite or villa. Not here. Most hotels with villa level rooms have competent butlers. Not here. After being dropped in our room by the front desk staff, we were told that our butlers would be by shortly. Having stayed in many St Regis hotels we were excited about having our bags unpacked by our butler and looked forward to hearing more about the property. A butler did show up, but didn't enter our room, didn't offer unpacking, didn't offer more details about the property or their services (e.g. pressing service, morning coffee/tea). He just told me that our full team would be there the next day. So disappointing. Butler service continued to be disappointing - not bringing coffee/tea service as requested. Once we spoke to a manager, coffee/tea service did occur, but with one bag of tea for an entire pot of hot water (everything felt like a pull here; nothing was anticipated). Not returning messages in a timely manner (they would on average take an hour to respond). After day three I stopped using their services - although my husband did arrange airport transportation with them for our departure. On night two we were not able to sleep because the air conditioner malfunctioned and the fan loudly clanged and banged for the entire night. While they did arrive to fix it the next day, they did so without care to our belongings in the villa (going into the crawl space over our clothing in the closet without moving our belongings. Due to this "inconvenience" we were compensated with a $400 resort credit. A complete loss of a nights sleep for 1/4 of the cost of a one night stay. There were one or two restaurant servers/bartenders who were EXCELLENT. Hugo was outstanding. However all others were lackluster at best. We were sat one morning at breakfast and then moved once we went to the buffet because someone else had been sat at that table. No one offered to help with dishes moving from the buffet to the table. Coffee refills were hard to find. Beach service was inconsistent - on our first day someone brought a bucket of waters and then never returned again for orders (and there's no button or way to summon them). Silly first world problem challenges but not ones that you're looking for at a luxury resort. To be fair, housekeeping was exceptional every day, however at villa level properties, we're used to coordinating their time in the villa with our butler to ensure that they're there when we are not - no surprise that didn't happen here. It strikes me as unfortunate that a property that has an automatic 11% service charge added to the room rate has such lackluster service. Finally, typically when we stay at properties such as this there is a welcome bottle of wine, often from our Travel Advisor. There were three macaroons left as a welcome gift. Not even a bottle of water. This property did NOT feel like a luxury property in terms of service and care. We spoke with a few couples who split their time between the St Regis and the Four Seasons and they said there was no comparison in service - the Four Seasons was far better. I do wish that we would have switched properties after our first night as service did not improve despite taking the time to speak with several managers about our lackluster stay.

My husband and I had a wonderful 3 day weekend here! the service was excellent. It was a little over an hour from the airport to the hotel, and we took a hotel arranged car service. People who uber have to walk about 12 mins outside the airport across a small bridge (lots of people do this), but the cost of uber was way less (40$ vs. $115 for the car service). Overall, the property was quiet. The sunsets were BEYOND stunning every day! Highly recommend staying out on the beach for them and having later dinners! Room: Large, gorgeous balcony with a view, massive bathroom including indoor shower, bathtub, and outdoor shower. Good toiletries (acceptable conditioner, not the best but good), comfy bathrobes, etc. Big comfy bed, chair and desk in room, large walk in closet for luggage and clothing. We were in a normal room, but there also seemed to be 'house' rooms, with private pools, private sections of the beach, etc. Pools: There seemed to be three primary pools. One was adults only, one was a large kids pool (extremely chic and quiet for a kids pool, though we didnt travel with children so only saw it during breakfast, and an open pool on the far side of the resort. We picked the Nekkei pool because it was adults only, close to the beach, and had the best sushi menu for lunch. I think it was on the smaller side, but we felt it was quiet all day. It was well staffed with people constantly checking on us. They also had 3 sunscreen options available all over the place. Beach: REALLY pretty views everywhere, with comfortable beach chairs and umbrellas with full service at the beach. At the far side of the property from where we stayed (near the sea breeze restaurant) there was a swimming area of the beach that had gorgeous sand and was calm waters. In jan the water was cold but refreshing. Food: By far the best food we had was at the adults only pool during the day via the Sakana menu. Delicious delicious sushi, asian noodles and poke bowls. I have a gluten allergy and they were very accommodating. The room service was okay but not amazing, and we did not love the Carolina tasting menu. It was so expensive, would definitely skip it if we went back. Breakfast was good, we ordered from the menu not buffet. Drinks: As always with resorts, overpriced, especially the wine by the pool. But extensive menu and they had cool wine cups with ice inside the glass to keep your drink cool by the beach. They constantly bring you free water bottles in ice buckets. Gym: The gym facility was completely average and fine. Tons of treadmills and bikes and weight machines. It had good AC and nice locker room facilities. Not particularly special and was empty when we went. Groups: All over the property we saw groups (10 - 15 people) having private meals on the beach etc. It was not at all disruptive to my experience, but seemed quite special for those groups. I would definitely come back with friends in the future. My few 'cons' if I had to list them: - the hotel is really big, and the walk from one end to the other is long. There is a golf cart service you can use (it was quick and free), but at times we walked, and our room was on the far end of the resort - some parts of the beach are very rocky and not swimmable at all. Where we were staying and the pool we liked had this type of beach. It was really gorgeous to sit and look at, but we had to walk a ways down the sand to

Overall, a great stay at a resort that is thoughtfully designed, upscale and well maintained. The property is beautiful and everything felt easy from walking across the property to various pools to finding eating venues. The excellent: property layout, maintenance, consistency of staff and service, and food quality. The only items that brought down the rating was lack of upgrade offered due to our Bonvoy Titanium status. The room I reserved was presented and I had to ask for an upgrade due to the status. They eventually offered an upgrade at a 50% reduction off the rack rate. We ended up in a beach front room adjoining a larger beach front room. The second negative was a constant disruption when the neighbors had food service delivered to the back patio and the servers had to walk across our patio to get there. At best, it was a distraction and at worst a minor violation while we were relaxing alone on the patio. That aside, we enjoyed ourselves and would consider going back but would not make it a priority. Strongly suggest the hotel transportation and beach front room.

I travel to Punta Mita and Nayarit area a few times a year. We usually stay at other resorts in the area (One and Only, Four Seasons, Susurros Del Corzan, etc.) but decided to stay at the St. Regis given the recent renovation and we are so glad we did and will be back. First the resort grounds are very mature and well-kept vs some of the other newer resorts. The room renovation is amazing they kept the original tiles and ceilings while refreshing the rooms. There are three pools, five restaurants not including the bar to choose from and it's 5 minutes from town. The pools are setup and ready by 8am. They are heated and cleaned every day. The breakfast buffet or al la carte is amazing, tons of options and it changes daily. Two golf courses, 7 tennis courts, 8 pickle ball courts 2 paddle courts available for use. The service from the butler to the staff to the management was some of the best ever experienced. It's literally better than some of the Aman's I've stayed at. Thank you, Francisco, Omar, Leo, David and the entire team. Everyone is amazing.

I believe this resort has become my husband and myself's "Go-To" place for RnR, pampering and zen. This is our second time at this resort and better than our last visit in November 2022. I will also preface to say, that I am familiar with this area, having stayed at the Four Seasons (1X) and Hacienda de Mita (several times.)I should also mention that I used to frequent Hawaii every year, but the longer flights from western Canada vs. a shorter direct flight has helped to make this locale our new favourite. ARRIVAL: Wonderful front entry greeting with some very gracious staff. We were escorted to the new lobby (was still under construction when we were last there.) We were escorted to a lobby table overlooking the incredible view of the waterway, adult pool and ocean where our front end associate sat down with us to check us in while we were served the most delicious non-alcoholic cocktail. What a lovely refresher......I wish I had the recipe! After the formalities and the credit card being run through for approval, we were escorted to a golf cart with our luggage to begin our little journey to our casita. I will also preface, that I am a Platinum Elite Bonvoy member and thank you, we did receive an upgrade from garden view to ocean view room. CASITA: We were in room 4201, the same room as our last stay! I had requested it for this vacay as we found the location to the adult pool, the lobby, the spa, Mariettas for breakfast, to be a great location for us. Since we last visited, the room has been refreshed. I like it but with some reservations. Positives: new head board, sideboard for TV and bar, clean and new outdoor furniture, better outdoor shower floor tiling, and thank you for keeping the terra cotta tiles (LOVE..do not ever remove.) I also really appreciated the addition of a Nespresso machine in the room. We are early risers, and on our last stay, we had to wait forever to have the butler deliver the coffee. This was definitely a welcome addition. Negatives: the desk has been removed and replaced with chair and a chaise lounge, inside shower with marble floor is still so slippery when wet....again, an accident waiting to happen....just bypass and use the outdoor shower with better traction on floor. Our bellman delivered our luggage to our room and we were ready to unpack and start our vacation. I do have to mention that the steps that lead up and down to Casitas are very narrow without handrails and definitely caution is needed to navigate especially in the evening. I think ST. Regis should step up and install some handrails. (Check older review where a guest broke both of her ankles!) Caution is certainly advised! RESTAURANTS (ON AND OFF SITE): Mita Mary (onsite) OK! YAY! our first evening at our little piece of heaven! I had made a reservation at Mita Mary's. YAY! we loved this restaurant on our last visit and dined there for many dinners and many lunches. It was a little "real" but luxury authentic Mexican that we both adored as did many guests. In 2022, there was the "boat" bar and food preparation with the open air grill right there on the beach. AMAZING! NOW GONE!!!!!!!! Whaaaaaaaaaaat?????? I had been so looking forward to enjoying their amazing fish tacos with a skinny margherita while wiggling my toes in the sand and watching the amazing sunset. Yeup, sadly no more. Sure, we could sit at a table with our feet in the sand, but the atmosphere had disappeared. A New Mita Mary's restaurant, that I believe was trying to set itself as nore upscale and has failed miserably. Do not get me wrong, the staff was amazing and the open air restaurant looked beautiful. HOWEVER! THERE WAS NOT ANY KIND OF TACO ON THE MENU, NO OPEN AIR GRILL! Yes, so the waiter realized that my aghast expression, was not one of pleasure. I am not that Karen, but St. Regis just lost my future $$ at this restaurant. To be fair, the manager did come over and offered to have the chef make my favourite shrimp or fish tacos on another evening with some notice. Thank you and no thank you. While I appreciated the offer, the magic of our amazing Mexican dinners at the St. Regis was lost. We never returned during our 10 day stay. So very very sad to take away this wonderful experience from guests. Tuna Blanc: (in town) Amazing as always! The Caeser salad, the tuna tostada (SOOOOOOOO good!) and shrimp prepared tableside were worth a repeat visit. The view is fantastic, the staff is very attentive with the combination of great food make this restaurant a continuing favourite. ( We made sure to do a repeat during our 10 day visit.) Sufi: (Within gates of Punta Mita) We love, love, love this restaurant! It is located at a condo complex within the gate of Punta Mita. The shrimp tagliatelle is so good. The view and waitstaff are amazing. We had a second visit........ :) Minas: (in town) A fun large Mexican restaurant that occupies a wide expanse of beach! Waitstaff is great and fun, food is fresh and amazing, and margheritas are delish. We dined here for dinner and for lunch (after returning from a Marietas Islands snorkeling tour.) Definitely, this place is a high recommend! Lobster Paradise: (in town) JUST DO NOT GO!! AWFUL. Please see my separate review under restaurants. Las Marietas Restaurant: (on site) We enjoyed a lovely breakfast here every morning. Everything from fresh fruit and juices, pastries, salads, cold cuts, eggs, bacon etc to the station that prepared made to order omelettes. Very good and enjoyable. We also had a dinner here, and it was good but not outstanding. Zicatelas: (off site) OK, nothing amazing. This restaurant was a bit of a drive from our resort. Really, not worth it. Pass. Sakana: (on site) $$ but excellent sushi. This restaurant is also the bar for adult pool service. I cannot say enough about the amazing waiters and barkeeps at this establishment! While we were at the adult pool (upstairs area-my zen space overlooking the ocean ....sigh) , the gracious waiters, never failed to check in with us to move our umbrellas, bring more water bottles in fresh ice, offer light refreshing bites, and kept our bevvies refreshed. THIS IS THE REASON WE WILL RETURN! I love this pool area! DEPARTURE AND FINAL THOUGHTS: A final check of our bill was viewed online in pesos. No problem with the conversion. However, we did notice a small charge from our in room bar. We knew that this was not possible, as we had the butler remove everything from the fridge so that we could put our own items in it. No problem, it was corrected. We found the butler service to be much improved compared to our last visit in November 2022. They were very attentive and punctual and very easy to reach by text. Kudos to the butler team! Suggestions to St. Regis Management ( if they are reading) -Alert your guests prior to arriving and making final payment, that renovations are occuring in certain areas. For example, on our previous stay, we were aware (ON THE WEBSITE) that the lobby and Las Marietas Pool area and some casitas were undergoing renovation. Ok, fair. We were aware while we were making our reservation that this would be happening. No problem. We made the decision to come. HOWEVER, there was certainly not a notice on their website or when we arrived that the gym was undergoing renovations. The resort moved the gym to a conference room with equipment piled in a windowless room! WHaat? Note: Before it is an explanation, after it is an excuse. Guests of St. Regis caliber appreciate transparency. VERY DISAPPOINTING. -HANDRAILS ON OUTSIDE STAIRS, PLEASE! -BRING BACK SOME SEMBLANCE OF THE OLD MITA MARY WITH THE FISH TRUCK COMING IN BEFORE LUNCH! SOOOOOOOOO SAD........... -APPLY SOME SORT TO NON-SLIP FLOOR APPLICATION TO INSIDE MARBLE SHOWERS. CONCLUSION: Will I return? Absolutely! It is the wonderful staff in the staff and all around Mexico that help to make the St. Regis such a special place to visit. We really enjoyed our vacation and appreciated the new lobby and the new pool. I have definitely changed my holiday plans from Hawaii to Mexico because of the wonderful Mexican people. We will definitely return (maybe in April.) Happy and Safe Travels.

A serene high end resort that is well maintained and in a gorgeous location. The staff is excellent from the Butlers to all of the servers - everyone you come into contact really from arrival to departure. There is a lot of attention to detail and to be sure staff have been well trained in service & hospitality. We travel a lot and this hotel is one we won't forget. Its an hour or more from the airport. Traffic was bad getting out. We took an uber. It was a good experience and about $45 usd with tip. There are a lot of other transportation options. The adult pool Sakana Bar area was incredibly relaxing with no shortage of pampering from the staff there, who took care of any request very professionally with a smile. We tried all 3 pools and that was our favorite. Really the only issue we saw is a question of how you perceive value. Its very expensive. The food overall was very good, but not great. Rooms, food and drinks are all at times comically expensive. If you don't mind paying whatever for an amazing place, this is for you. If you are a Bonvoy loyalist, its three or four times the cost of what you would pay for Marriott PV Resort near downtown on the ocean. But if you want a much more chill, exclusive, pleasurable experience...this is the one. There is no need or stampede for "saving pool chairs" here. The ocean views and beach are stunning, but swimming is a challenge it is so rough and rocky. We were aware of this before we arrived and its never going to change. The Fitness Area is being upgraded so whats there now is in a no window room. Its a bit disappointing as a makeshift option. But it does afford you the opportunity to get some kind of a work out in. We will be back. Really is an incredible place.

The staff here (particularly our butlers Jaime and Miguel) truly went above and beyond. They did a great job of being attentive without being overbearing. The housekeeping team was also impressive, in addition to the pool and beach attendants, who were also attentive and helpful. The resort offers a wide range of activities. We loved the fishing excursion led by Spearmex, the tequila tasting offered in the lobby bar, and the tennis courts in the adjoining community. Booking activities and dinner reservations is very easy--It just requires a call or text to the butlers. We recommend looking at the weekly schedules the hotel sends out to learn more about what the resort has to offer. If you're looking for a place where luxury meets hospitality, the Saint Regis Punta Mita is the perfect choice.

This was the first time visiting Puerto Vallarta and we chose the St Regis Punta Mita because of my strong connection with Marriott Bonvoy. Got upgraded to a Jr Suite Casita near the main pool area with an outdoor shower and a cute garden. The room was very comfortable and had every imaginable amenity, except for a magnifying mirror in the bathroom and tea bags in the room. A hotel of this level should provide those things. Hope they will take my advise and install those mirrors in their 120 rooms. Another thing I prefer is chocolates at turndown service. They were leaving gummies which I don't think are appealing to older guests. We felt very well treated by all the staff who are trained to detect guests requirements. They put buckets with ice and water bottles on the beach and also had 3 types of complimentary suntan lotion available for the guests. That was a very nice touch. We didn't have to use our lotion. The Punta Mita development is grandiose and well designed. The only drawback are that all the beaches have too many rocks and it is uncomfortable to walk on them. I wish they would clean certain parts to make them more user friendly. We liked Sea Breeze beach which had a small clear area with less rocks. However, for the resort to be truly worth it, the beaches must be spectacular and unfortunately these ones are not. But we still had a memorable time and will definitely recommend to everyone.

Rooms are really nice, spacious and comfortable. We had a “king bed Ocean view Casita). Huge bathroom plus an outdoor shower. Housekeeping regularly checked to refresh the room a few times each day. We had a good view to the 3 tiered pools and to the ocean. (There are also pools in other locations.). When at the pools the staff regularly came by with buckets full of ice and bottled water, and periodically came with iced fruit drinks or fruit popsicles. We ate at every restaurant in the hotel and didn’t have any meal that wasn’t really with great service at each restaurant. Special shout out to Felipe Sandoval and the other bartenders at AltaMira (the bar with restaurant in the lobby). He was really a very helpful and engaging person, and made great recommendations for cocktails and food. He was delightful as were his comrades (we didn’t not get everyone’s names). Also special were the breakfast wait staff at Las Marietas, and bartender and staff at Carolina. Massages at spa were very good spa is pricey (we added a private room and pool with champagne and snacks so of course that added to the price). All staff were extremely courteous, if you need directions whomever you asked stopped what he/she was doing and took you wherever you were going. (i.e, instead of just trying to tell you how to go.). And at the restaurants and bars they always knew we were here for our anniversary and congratulated us. Nice touch. We certainly plan to return. This is a wonderful place.

Be aware of St Regis taxi prices. Double that of outside cab service. 3 times that of UBER. 10 dollars to drive into Putna de Mita. Seems like a free shuttle could be offered. Golf carts are provided at a very high price. Other than that, very nice stay.

I just completed a stay at St. Regis earlier this week and had an amazing time at this resort. Their attention to detail at this resort is second to none. The staff were all very friendly and attentive, and made sure that we had a good experience. The butler system that was provided for our room was absolutely fantastic! I was able to text them with all of my requests and they handled it immediately. The beachfront room we stayed in had a great view of the ocean, although it wasn't quite the beachfront I imagined where you would be able to walk out onto the beach directly from our room. This type of room does not have a King bed option available, only 2 Queens. The beds were comfy, the slippers were fluffy, and the turndown service each night was impeccable. I would definitely come back again.
