What you should expect from a Ritz, but the beach area was VERY crowded.

Now for the draw backs. The beach is nice. However it gets very crowded in the free lounges with umbrellas. It was so crowded that we rented a bimini. Since we did that, it was amazing. But is cost a lot. It was not a long walk to the shops and restaurants and it was good to walk on the beach to get there.

My wife and I spent 3 days and four nights at the Ritz Carlton Aruba. Aruba gets little rain, and weeds are everywhere on the island. The island is very ratty looking. With all of the revenue generated from hotel taxes, the island should look better. Money must be getting diverted. Parts of Oranjestad, the Capitol, are nice. Most other parts of the island are not very nice. Some roads are horrible. Even the areas on the opposite side of the street from the hotels look terrible. The weather is why people go to Aruba. THE RITZ CARLTON ARUBA IS A VERY NICE HOTEL. The staff is very friendly. The outside live music at night was excellent! My wife and I had a deluxe ocean front suite. It was expensive. The room was great except for the jack hammering sound coming from the living room AC that drove me crazy and could not get fixed despite repeated requests. The Club Level was excellent. The food was very good. The hotel hallway carpeting had debris on them that didn’t get picked up. Nobody is supervising. The elevator floor numbers are hard to read as you wait for the elevators to arrive. You have to make sure to call for housekeeping. They bed pillows are too large. They need to give guests some smaller pillows too. The pool and beach areas are great. We rented a pool cabana. It was very annoying that the hotel can’t figure out a system to tie the sides down on the cabana. It was windy in Aruba while were there and the cabana sides kept blowing in and up. It was annoying. We had to tie the sides of the cabana to furniture. We hired a company called First Class Experience Aruba to meet us at the airport upon arrival. They never met us. The Ritz Carlton is partially to blame for this. First Class Experience Aruba had the wrong date of our arrival. We found out First Class Experience Aruba is not needed for arrival, but definitely needed for departure. It is a nightmare leaving Aruba. Long lines upon arrival at the airport. Two baggage check points for Customs. We arrived at the airport very early and again there was no representative from First Class Experience Aruba to meet us. Once again, they had the time screwed up. I had the Ritz confirm the time with First Class Experience Aruba so we didn’t have problems and we had problems anyway. We were lucky we knew our driver from taking us on a 3 ½ tour of the island. It took him 20 minutes to find a First Class Experience Aruba representative. That person took us to the front of the line at all of the different check points. As part of the package we were able to use the VIP lounge at the very crowded airport. The lounge was great! They served free food and alcohol and had very nice seats to sit in. It was perfect not having to wait on all of the lines. We will never go back to Aruba. It is too far away. The island is not that nice. The government needs to do a better job.

The entire staff at the RC were spectacular!
Friendly, helpful, smiling always!
We were upgraded to a Suite, and the room and the view were perfect. My husband had communicated with the staff prior to our arrival that it was our anniversary. What a fantastic surprise when we entered our room!
(They had asked if he was willing to share a picture of us, what a sweet momento they made for us)
The grounds are gorgeous, and having sunscreen available all of the property is a definite plus! Clean beaches and fun tropical drinks too!
For us, a fantastic stay!

Delicious drinks at the VW van off the beach!!
We stopped by the enjoy some drinks from the Volkswagen van as we heard amazing things about Jose’s cocktail creatures. They were amazing! We got the cocomargarita and the mai tai. Both were delicious and refreshing. These are certainly instagram worthy cocktails, but you can also enjoy these amazing drinks...

I know people mostly either write reviews if they either have a great experience or a terrible experience. However, after reading multiple reviews we decided to book at the Ritz Carlton Aruba for our 5 day stay. I tend to be very meticulous when looking for hotels, especially when traveling out of the country.
1) Our room was not ready when we arrived but we were welcomed with champagne and cold water. Timothy took care of us at the front desk. I honestly cannot remember all the names of the employees that we encountered at the pool, beach chairs, restaurants, and housekeeping. However every single person we came into contact with was great.
2) Are the prices a little inflated for drinks, room service, and the restaurants? Yes. However that’s what’s to be expected when staying at the Ritz. You wouldn’t expect to pay the amount you do to stay here and then see $5 burger and fries. The price includes the experience, and it’s fantastic all around.
3) Me and my girlfriend took advantage of the included paddle board rentals and it was easy to sign the waiver and get right into the water. It wasn’t hard finding a beach chair or a pool chair as long as you came out by 11am. And the staff will set up your towels on your chairs so you don’t have to feel awkward searching for an empty seat. They also have flags at all the chairs so if you need service, you raise them. And all the food, even if expensive, was great and tasted fresh.
4) The only “negative” thing I’ll add is that the gym is a little lackluster. 4/6 treadmills worked however if there was anything to be improved, a larger gym would be better. But I was able to make it work.
5) The beach area you walked right up to from the hotel, and the water was nice and even though there was a “roped off” area to swim in, it was vast and you always had your own space. In the roped off area, the water got to chest height if that. So you can casually walk around or get one of the floaties and relax.
Overall, you get what you pay for. It’s an amazing hotel and then service was top notch. When we travel, I will spare no expense to ensure we are comfortable. I will absolutely stay here again when we return. Beautiful island and beautiful people.

Beautiful property, beautiful beach. My husband and I were there to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. Sadly sunscreen and the ocean are an unfortunate combo for jewelry and my husband lost his wedding ring in the water while on one of the stationary orange floats. It's only a $25 ring, but sentimental as it's the original from our wedding day in 2004. It's inscribed with my name and our wedding date and is a simple titanium band. The hotel is aware and has my contact info. Seeing my husband crying on the beach broke my heart and I'll gladly pay $500usd for the safe return to me.
Fingers crossed♥️

Both BLT and Nonna were excellent for dinner. Casino is kind of small and quiet. Big older crowd during the day playing Bingo.
We would come back and stay here again.
