Solmar Resort Optional

My wife and I had the pleasure of staying at Solmar Resort and had a wonderful time. Although the room was a bit outdated, I know they intend to eventually put their money back into renovations over time since its primo location. Its only a 10-15 minute walk to the marina and was safe enough for my wife and I to do at night. The restaurants had tasty food. Shoutout to Arturo & Jose Luis at Tejaban who were amazing servers and worked with us practicing our español! They were true gentlemen and fun guys. Also, shoutout to Gerrardo along with the rest of the pool waiters / bartenders. They worked their butt's off making sure everyone had there drinks/food. Thank you guys! The live music was great at Tejeban too which we danced to along with other vacationers having fun. When booking, we went with the Whale watching package (Shoutout to Jerry, our boat guide, who was awesome! Also, heads up, there is no bathroom on the boat but its got a dual engine hemi to make up for it so you will definitely cruise fast and get to more locations where the whales are). We also went with the SOULMATE massage package at Grand Solmar's Lands end in the beach cabana (OMG, my wife and I thought it was the best massage of our lives!! Shoutout to Brenda and Itzelda! Your hands are magic, the sound of the ocean was bliss, and the chocolate covered strawberries with champagne was icing on the cake.) All-in-all great stay and made for great stories and memories. My wife and I would definitely come back here.

We have been to Solmar Resort 15 times, and each time it is the best vacation ever. Solmar Resort is the oldest resort on the Pacific side of Cabo, since it is on the Pacific side the ocean is too dangerous for swimming, but Medano Beach is close by. The resort reminds us of old Mexico it is not the glitz and glamour of the other Cabo mega resorts. It is old, small, quiet and very intimate. A fifteen-minute walk will get you to the hustle and bustle of the marina with its many restaurants and night clubs. The beach is private so no vendors. The Resort is beautifully maintained and very clean. The Staff is the same year after year, all very professional, friendly, attentive and ready to go the extra mile to make your vacation special. Choose All Inclusive and sit back and relax; no shopping, no cooking and no dirty dishes; couple that with an excellent, attentive and very friendly staff, and it is a true vacation. No buffets, order off a menu and be wowed with good food artfully presented by Chefs Miguel, Pako and Efren; and efficiently served by Jose Luis, Salvador, Susana, Margarita and Manny. Watch the sunset while enjoying a cocktail made by Octavio, Alexis or Eric, or served poolside by Arturo or Gerardo. Walk the grounds beautifully landscaped and maintained by Irma and Lorena. Watch in amazement how Armando, Israel, Luis and Manny maintain the property (no OSHA in Mexico). Enjoy fresh sheets and towels every day and the most comfortable bed ever and a room cleaned by the excellent housekeeping staff-Patricia. The general housekeeping staff that cleans the public areas of the resort is always humming while working-Villaeldo, Veronica. Front Office staff are willing to help with any issue (of which we have never had any)- Carlos, Elena, Elsa, and Michael. And the bell boys are always ready for a fun conversation- Juan, Marco, Ivan and Luis. The small intimate Mexican feel, the location, the cleanliness and the Staff are what keep us coming back year after year. All of the Staff at the resort make it such a special place, they are all so friendly and so happy and so willing to make your vacation the best ever.

My husband and I had a wonderful stay! The one bedroom was surprisingly large and we were thrilled that it had two full bathrooms and two patios facing the pool area and ocean. We were in 2211--great location. The pools were refreshing, the breakfast was convenient and delicious (worth paying for ahead of time), and the beach was great for whale watching and walking (but no swimming). The resort is walkable to the marina. We enjoyed the stretching class and the cornhole game. The poolside drinks were fairly watered down, and the fries were just ok, but we enjoyed the sushi. Nice, quiet location away from the craziness of downtown. Tip--have dinner at La Roca in Grand Solmar next door. You won't regret it.

Wonderful experience at Solmar! Pool staff (Omar & Roman) were great: very attentive and prompt with service. The handsome restaurant/bar manager (Rouben Corona) was exceptional, frequently walking around the pool and restaurant asking guests if they needed anything and overseeing all the services of the staff. Dinner at the grill was fantastic. It is so refreshing to see employees enjoying themselves in their work. Servers Berny, Daniel and bartender Christopher were friendly and inviting. Great time at this resort. Give the staff a solid 5 star rating.

We love celebrating Valentine’s Day and our anniversary at Solmar Resort! The small, quaint family atmosphere created by the staff truly makes it feel like a 'home away from home.' A huge thank you to the breakfast team—Jose Luis, Salvador, Manuel, Rosie, Rufina, Christian, Luis Angel and the others who work as a fantastic team every morning. Lunch at El Tejaban or by the pool is always delicious. We also found that booking the all-inclusive option directly through the Solmar Resort website is very affordable compared to other nearby resorts. Carlos does a wonderful job leading his team, and Ivonne is truly the 'hostess with the mostess'—she brings so much joy and a special touch to every reservation. Damian, Reyna, Marguerite, Alfonso, Isai and all the dinner crew go above and beyond to make the experience feel personal and special. We highly recommend the Master Suites; they are roomy, clean, comfortable beds and many with great ocean views which provide opportunities for whale watching and open water views. Lety provides excellent housekeeping that kept our suite perfect. The grounds are always well taken care of with crew making sure things are kept up and tidy. We love every visit to Solmar Resort and everything Cabo San Lucas has to offer with just a quick walk to town!

Our Solmar stay was perfection! This was our first time visiting Cabo and of course trying to find the right place was hectic. We are beyond happy that we chose to stay at Solmar. The staff at Solmar was very kind, helpful and very promptly to all our needs. Manuel always took amazing care of us at breakfast always keeping our cup of coffee full. Gerardo was always friendly and keeping us happy with his kindness at the pool are. Omar and Arturo were very kind at the pool area as well always offering refills and making sure we were taken care of. Damian always kept us trying new dishes at dinner and he was always friendly and spot on in his suggestions! The food at Trebol and Tejaban was delicious. From breakfast to dinner everything was delicious with so many options! Solmar location was amazing. Never stayed at a place where you can watch a sunset and sunrise right from the beach up front. We were also very lucky to go during whale season and were able to see them right from our balcony! The views are just spectacular of the mountains and cliff views. There is a private hike you can take nearby. The marina was only 10 min walk from the hotel. You can take cruises, sunset sailing and many other activities right from the marina! So if this is your first time visiting Cabo I highly recommend Solmar as it’s so close to everything. The room was very comfortable, clean and spacious. The bed was very comfortable. The views from our balcony were breathtaking! We can’t thank Solmar staff enough for making our vacation of our best experiences of Cabo! We hope we can come back and enjoy more experiences!

My stay at Hotel Resort Somar in Cabo, Mexico was truly one of the most memorable trips I’ve ever had. From the moment we arrived, everything felt welcoming, relaxing, and beautifully curated for an unforgettable experience. I celebrated my birthday there with friends and my loved one, and it could not have been more perfect. The resort itself is stunning — gorgeous views, amazing atmosphere, and the kind of setting that makes every moment feel special. What truly made our stay exceptional, though, was MARGARITA. From day one, her attention to detail, warmth, and genuine care stood out. She went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect for us. Whether it was helping coordinate special touches for my birthday, checking in to make sure we had everything we needed, or simply greeting us with her wonderful energy, she made us feel valued and celebrated. Her service was not just professional — it was heartfelt. Because of MARGARITA, what would have already been a great vacation became an extraordinary one. She truly made our experience the best from the very beginning. Thank you to the entire team at Hotel Resort Somar for such a beautiful stay — and a very special thank you to Margarita for making my birthday celebration so meaningful and unforgettable. We will absolutely be back!

Our Solmar stay has been incredible! The staff made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. Every one has been so welcoming and kind. Always making sure we are taken care of to the highest standards! Manuel was one of our first servers at Tejaban and many other breakfast we had there. Gerardo at the pool area was always kind and promptly to bring whatever we needed. Arturo and Omar also took great care of us at the pool. The food at Trebol and Tejaban had been incredible. So many choices we were never disappointed from delicious huevos rancheros to ceviches to chicken Alfredos! If you are looking for a place that is near everything in Cabo look no further, this is the place! 10 min walk to the Marina, you get sunrises and sunsets from the beach. The beach is beautiful but you cannot swim there as the waves are rough and not safe. There is a private hike around the corner at 8am. So many things to do! Our room was beautiful, clean, spacious and the bed so comfortable! We couldn’t hear any noise from the outside. I know many people say it could be updated but for the amount of time we spent in our room it had everything we needed and we were happy!

The location was fantastic—close to downtown and the lively nightlife. We were three women in our mid-20s, and while we stood out among the mostly older couples staying there, the atmosphere was still very relaxing and fun. The food overall was about a 6.5/10, but the service was a solid 10/10. We were often served by Rayna at El Tejeban, and she truly made our trip memorable. She was warm, friendly, and even took the time to teach us some Spanish 🙂. That said, we preferred the food and drinks at the Grill. Daniel, who served us there, was incredibly friendly and made exceptional cocktails, and the food there was much more flavourful. One downside is that the restaurants and bar close at 9:30 p.m.; however, they do allow you to take leftovers with you. We had the all-inclusive plan and it was absolutely worth it. We normally would have spent around $600 USD per day on food and drinks, while the all-inclusive cost $1,800 for six days (about $100 USD per person per day). The hotel doesn’t have a gym, but guests can use a nearby hotel’s gym for free, which is only a five-minute walk away. Solmar is much more quaint compared to the neighboring mega-resorts, and I really loved how personal the service felt. Our room was a king suite with a sofa bed, a full kitchen (stove, microwave, and full-sized fridge), and two bathrooms—which was amazing for three women.
