Wonderful place to stay in Mauritius
We really enjoyed the hotel, the location and the staff, especially Gino the sommelier who gave us great advices on wines.
The view is magnificent with the mountains at the back that add nice elements to the wonderful scenery.
We highly recommend the place.

My fiancée and me visited this resort just as a get away. Away from stress and trouble.... After a few little mistakes and misunderstandings the resort really tried everything to make us feel at home. I am from the hospitality and of course you have another sight on different things.......
My fiancée and me visited this resort just as a get away.
Away from stress and trouble.... After a few little mistakes and misunderstandings the resort really tried everything to make us feel at home.
I am from the hospitality and of course you have another sight on different things.... There is just one point I really didn't appreciate is the aggressive modelling on wines and spirits... Even you just want to have a simple light wine or a beer....
Besides that!!!! The whole team!!!
Especially Bhashna from FO and the other ladies which had to deal with our sometimes difficult wishes a big thank you!!!!!!!!
Such as Roddie? ( Sorry I miss pronounce ) Sam Nd the rest of the pool and bar team were just incredible. Such as the manager Dev ( more easy to remember) .
Also the restaurant team and kitchen team has been sooo sooo incredible. .
If you visit don't miss the egg station. The two ladies... Only two ladies in charge of any type of eggs, crepe, waffles or whatever you think of are there to make it happen.
The eggs are not just to die for..... It just brightens your day to talk with them as they seem to be the sunshine of the whole island
....
The last 2 days were a bit rough.... A cyclone 🌀 warning came up...
The hotel managed well but of course it's not the same to have breakfast and dinner in the room... But anyways... Safety 🛟 first. Even though you were able to get anything you want. And more.....
Prices are decent for the quality 💯
The GM and EAM are always around. They don't wear name patches with positions but for sure if you need them you will spot them. Because they are always there for any guest concern....
Krishna the FOM ( again we didn't know he is the FOM ) is sitting on an open desk. Ready for any guest concern which the ladies and gentlemen can't coop with😁
His smile again brings your mood to another level even on a rainy day. The guest service in all departments is just outstanding.
Really outstanding!!!
Again we would like to thank the entire staff from A -Z to make our 10 days so memorable!
Please continue like this. And we would love to be back next year to celebrate something more personal.
Keep up the good work 🙏

Our room was spacious, very well equipped and kept very clean. The view of the sea was lovely.
All the meals and drinks we had were excellent and I loved the cocktails.
The swimming pool was great with a super view. Again the service around the pool was very good.
We went on a boat trip and my husband went on a kayak which was good fun.
We had treatments in the spa which we enjoyed.
The hotel in particular Selvern (hope I have spelt his name correctly) were so helpful in helping me organise an anniversary meal on the beach. This was lovely and made a great memory for us. My husband loved opening the champagne.
Thank you Sands for a great holiday and we will be back.

A beautiful hotel on a beautiful island, and a truly 5* experience, but with a warm and friendly atmosphere!
From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by the lovely Vedika, who made us feel so welcome.
The hotel is big enough to have space on the gorgeous beach and around the hotel itself, but small enough to feel personal. The rooms are spacious and the bed was super comfortable, all beautifully looked after by the housekeeping staff on a daily basis.
There’s plenty of activities including water sports, a decent fitness room, games room and spa. You can also arrange for car hire through the hotel to explore the island.
The food and drinks are excellent. Plenty of variety, and they cater for gluten free as well!
Thanks to all the amazing staff who made our stay so special, and to name a few, we’d like to personally thank Vedika, Viroshnee, Rooney, Arjun, Hans and Selven. You are all a credit to the hotel.
We’ll absolutely be returning when we next visit Mauritius.
Thanks again, Rachel & Janie

My wife and I have just returned from a 10 night holiday at the Sands Suites Resort & Spa. It is a truly fantastic hotel resort. The hotel is situated on the south west coast of Mauritius in the Flic en Flac region. The scenery is stunning and the beaches, long and sandy.. The ocean was warm
The Sands is quiet and a great place to relax. ALL of the staff are welcoming and the service ethic extremely strong. Everyone was so pleasant and keen to ensure that guests were having a good time. If we needed anything, they would deal with it, with a cheery smile. There was a clear mantra to make sure guests were happy and enjoying their stay.
Sands is quiet and has a wonderful beach and infinity pool. There are plenty of sun beds and beach towels are provided. There is a lot of beach equipment, including wind surfing, kayaks, paddle boards etc and water skiing. All provided without charge. The glass bottom boat visits the reef, just offshore, twice a day for snorkelling, again without charge. The water was a little cloudy when we went but it was most enjoyable in any event
There are three restaurants and the pool bar serves snacks. The buffet restaurant has a different theme each evening. The other two restaurants are table service. The food was excellent with plenty of choice. The restaurants are open areas, no glass, and offer a wonderful dining experience. The waiters and waitresses are all great, doing a great job in ensuring guests have all they wish. The service was excellent. We found the wine quite expensive, but that’s not untypical of a hotel resort of this quality
There isn’t much to do outside of the resort. No bars or restaurants within walking distance as far as we could see. Sands had everything we wanted in any event. We didn’t rent a car but this was an affordable option for anyone wishing to explore. We were happy walking the beach, in both directions, taking in the vista and enjoying every moment.
We enjoyed our stay immensely

From the moment of arrival we were treated so well; we weren't just shown to our suite door but were given a mini tour and shown how things worked. This culture seems embedded in the hotel - nothing is too much trouble and there is almost always a smile.
This is not a modern shiny place - the style is more traditional/colonial with lots of wood and natural materials; we watched them re-thatch some of the building roofs whilst we were there. The place is spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The beach location is amazing and there is space to relax for everyone, with lots of thoughtful touches to add a special feeling.
We stayed half-board and the food was excellent in terms of choice and quality. There were so many things to try at the buffet that we usually ate more than we intended. The buffet was so good that we did not try the a-la-carte restaurants. My wife has a food allergy which the chefs and food teams handled superbly, better than anywhere we have stayed before.
It took 24 hours of travelling door-to-door but it was well worth it; we would do it again if we could, this place is very special.

Superb! Beautiful, clean, extremely friendly staff who made you feel very special. The beach is very well maintained, there are plenty of beach activities and also a staff to help you. Of all the hotels in Flic en Flac I would argue this is the most pleasant one, with the cleanest beach and most elegance and ambiance. Also the fact that this is the last hotel on the beach makes is more private.
The food in the restaurants is very good. My wife and I are not big fans of buffet (which is the default), so we used the half board option in the two a la carte restaurants. The front desk has slight challenges to explain this option in an easy way, but it is clearly described in the printed welcome letter that you receive upon arrival. I highly recommend to enjoy the two a la carte restaurants options that they call "Dine Around".
We also had a very enjoyable wine tasting by the hotel sommelier. He specifically focused on the effects of different glasses. Well, that ended up in a need to supplement our wine glass cabinet at home.
This was a superb choice!

It was our first time in Mauritius. My husband and I spent 3 nights and what a unforgettable experience. We entered the lobby and was immediately impressed by the view and open space. We were met by smiling staff giving refreshing towels and welcome drinks. Even though we arrived before check-in time, they had already prepared the room and it was beautiful and super clean. The bed was comfortable, the amenities were of high quality, and it was clear that every detail was carefully thought of.
The breakfast offered a lot of healthy choices, fresh fruits and juices, and even flavoured water. The food was delicious, and I allowed myself to overeat and taste everything. During lunch, we tried the Pink Peppercorn Restaurant and I had a generous portion of fish which was cooked to perfection. My husband ordered a Mexican dish which he could not eat because it was too spicy. The waiter took it back and served a toned down version, my husband ate everything on the plate. In the afternoon, staff offered guests with a complimentary cold drink to cool down the guests as it was a very hot day. In the evening, there was themed night for the buffet but we tried the a la carte options in the other restaurant. The food quality was one star Michelin.
But what really sets this experience apart is the people. Laurent, the Resident Manager, was very attentive to all the guests, would greet everyone by their names and ask how they were doing. I believe that simple gestures like these make guests feel valued. A heartfelt thank you to him and his outstanding team - Kushsal, Ashmal (sommelier), Sandy and Ashvin for their professionalism, dedication and hospitality.
In this resort, the vibes are positive and we were able to relax, recharge, chill out and just enjoy. What a great way to start the year. With many good memories, we are already planning to return.

My wife and I stayed at The Sands Hotel & Spa Resort from 11th to the 21st December 2025. I booked a Seaview facing room. This was a much needed break following health issues last year and chill out and luxury was called for. We were not disappointed.
This was one of the smaller hotels in an avenue of much larger hotels, but this was to our advantage. The staff knew our names from the first day and the relaxed ambience was great which bigger hotels may loose. .
The Hotel team knew my wife and I, had dietary requirements and each morning approached us at breakfast to check all was fine in the meal offering that evening, otherwise they would accommodate us.
Towels were freely available on the beach and by the pool. No one stopped if you took a few? Never an issue getting a sun bed. If you got up from the sun bed a member of the pool or beach team would come over and tidy the towels, tuck them back in. Never had this before! . Staff would even wipe your sunglasses. Our room position was about 8- 10mtrs from the beach, it was paradise being in one at the end positions.
The Room was very large, nice veranda, very big en suite with bath separate shower and walk in dresser area.
With evening flights, having arrived early morning and leaving later on the last day a bathroom and changing room was made available. So you can relax in pool wear.
The food standard was excellent, lots of show cooking and theme nights and as much choice as you need. Breakfast was super too. The A La carte was very good.
The hotel is designed as open plan and open air, with thatching. This was very nice and quite cool as no air con being open like this, but the games room library gym and spa were closed spaces with air con. The spa was small but lovely with the best massage I have had on a holiday and very reasonably priced.
I had a couple of mini massage freebies by the poolside too when the masseurs did a walk about.
Evening entertainment was low key ,live music but not loud but the season was just starting so this may change a little later, but was chilled for us.
There is nothing to do in Flic en Flac itself, it is quite a poor resort, a little run down in parts so you stay in the hotel for evenings unless you get a Taxi to the shopping mall or an outside restaurant. We were half board so didn't bother.
This is the only minus point and that is not the hotel fault. But the position right on beach is fabulous. The beach here is great. You can walk out quite away.
The hotel has glass bottom boat and a speed boat for activities , many free, also canoes and pedallows and wind surfing.
My overall impression as number 1 are the staff, they make your stay relaxed and enjoyable, and the management here should be very pleased and proud that they have instilled a great culture maintained by all.
The biggest nag for me is too many birds flying about in the mornings as this is open design, but this is Mauritius the island of birds. So just go along with it. Just make sure you close all the food displays!
We booked through Dial A Flight and there tour /taxi partner on the island picks you up at the airport and takes you back in an air con car, and they have a rep who will come and sort out any trips you want to go on. All are personal guide tours no coaches! They made contact with us first day, so even if you are used to a TUI/Jet 2 style vacation you are still supported with this service.
Recommend SW day tour/ Chamarel Park and spoilt for choice with ocean based excursions.
Will definitely return and recommend highly.

In brief: The hotel is amazing, highly recommended.
We had two wonderful weeks in Sands suites hotel. The room was located on a quieter side of the territory, and it was exactly what we needed to relax.
This hotel provides big well-designed suites with big bathrooms, comfy wide beds and all the required facilities. My compliments to the staff who keeps everything very clean and responds quickly if one needs their assistance.
The territory and the beach have good regular maintenance and look amazing.
Staff providing services on the beach is polite and helpful.
Restaurants are another good thing to highlight. Breakfasts are more or less the same with a variety of salads/omlets/sausages etc. Dinners are changing day2day providing grill/mexican/Indian/Italian/Mediterranean cuisines. *The food was always fresh and tasty, waiters - attentive and nice.
A la carte in the restaurants and bar had good options for lunch, we used it if there was no planned trip outside.
We had some spa experience here (actually used a steam room, sauna and some treatments). It's good to have this option especially after some exhausting sightseeing :)
The hotel has parking, which was very convenient.
Summary: I was thinking about the flaws in our experience and couldn't find any. Just visit the place and you will understand me. 100% recommended

Amazing experience from the very start throughout the stay. Rooms are beautiful, comfortable and with stunning views over the ocean, mountains and the hotel territory that looks like heaven. Beach gives this private and cosy feel. The level of service makes one feel cared throughout the day - would it be beach service helping with sunbeds and towels, service at breakfast, buffet, room service, at the restaurant or concierge service. Lots of entertainment included, worth checking what’s available at the start to plan various activities. And beautiful sunsets here were a daily an entertainment of its own. Really good selection for breakfast and dinner buffet with some live music almost every day. One thing to consider for those who love swimming a lot and in deep waters - the ocean is not as deep as we’d hoped, you can reach the seabed in most places and it’s quite shallow closer to the beach, but in the end it wasn’t a problem - we could still swim a lot going outside of the rocky barriers where it is a bit deeper. Didn’t have a chance to explore the island as much this time, but the hotel location is great for that. We really enjoy our stay here and would love to come back again.

Just returned from an unforgettable stay at Sands Suites Resort & Spa in Mauritius with my wife, and wow – this place is a gem! Nestled with Le Morne in the background, the setting is as perfect as it gets for a relaxing getaway.
The staff were absolutely incredible. From the pool attendants to the restaurant team, everyone was so friendly and went above and beyond. Special thanks to Ruddy, the pool attendant, who cleaned our sunglasses every morning – talk about going the extra mile! The animators, concierge, and managers were all awesome, always making sure we had everything we needed for a truly VIP experience.
The food? Fresh and delicious, with a buffet offering a variety of options that kept us happily full. If you're into seafood, the à la carte lobster is a must – totally worth it! And shoutout to Gino, the sommelier, who made some fantastic wine recommendations that elevated every meal.
If you're looking for activities, Sands Suites has it all. The water sports were amazing, and swimming with the dolphins was an experience we’ll never forget – definitely a highlight of our trip! If you're into games, there’s also darts and pétanque to enjoy, but beware... if you play against Jonathan (aka the sharp-shooter), you’ll probably end up losing in spectacular fashion!
The resort is also pristine, with top-tier luxury and cleanliness. Everything from the grounds to the rooms was perfect, and we felt so well taken care of the whole time.
All in all, Sands Suites is the ultimate spot for anyone looking to relax, enjoy good food, and take part in some fun activities. Highly recommend it for couples or anyone seeking a little slice of paradise!

Unforgettable Experience!
Service is excellent! Staffs are always smiling and accommodating and the place is a top notch!!!! The food and the restaurants are fantastic. You have plenty of choices to dine-in with live entertainment. Definitely, we will come back soon with our family.
Excellent, highly recommended
The resort is beautiful and impeccably maintained, the staff are well trained and thoughtful, the location and facilities are fantastic. Koushal in particular of the restaurant went above and beyond. We would recommend any couple wanting a relaxed more personal trip to stay here rather than the very large resorts
Every staff member from manager to cleaning staff, from bar tenders to concierge were all warm smiling attentive people who were happy to help at all times. The place is pristine and the food… especially the lobster dinner special was unbelievable. I highly

We had a fantastic week at Sand suites. Everything was great and the staff are extremely efficient, friendly and helpful, without being overbearing. We had a warm welcome and visit of the facilities from Priyanka, and this really set the tone for the week - friendly and personalised attention to detail. The setting is truly stunning, with uninterrupted views of the ocean and stunning sunsets each evening. The massive infinity pool was never too crowded and there's also a calm lagoon which offers safe beach-swinmming. Ruddy and the poolside team are attentive yet discreet (thanks for the sunglasses-cleaning, Ruddy!) The food was a very pleasant surprise, with an excellent breakfast buffet and varied evening choices, including the dine around concept. The restaurant staff are also really welcoming and efficient. And special thanks to Kushal, who went above and beyond to arrange a wonderful romantic dinner on the beach. We had a very good massage at the spa and enjoyed the snorkelling trip from the boathouse. We will definitely return!

The massage in the spa was so good we had 2! Managed a swim with dolphins and whales organised by the beach house staff. Sunsets were magical and the whole stay was just perfect. Couldn’t have asked for more! Perfect relaxation from a busy life and highly recommended.

Wonderful stay at The Sands Hotel. We booked as the second hotel on our honeymoon and it was the perfect choice. Small (ish) hotel with choice of places to eat and lots of cocktails! Room was a great size and view of the beach with air con. Lots of activities...
Wonderful stay at The Sands Hotel.
We booked as the second hotel on our honeymoon and it was the perfect choice.
Small (ish) hotel with choice of places to eat and lots of cocktails!
Room was a great size and view of the beach with air con.
Lots of activities which you can be a part of or just relax on the beach or by the pool - we did the guided walk and bike ride plus aqua fitness and ping pong tournament.
My husband used the gym regularly but also rang along the beach.
Staff were always friendly and helpful - never intrusive but nothing was too much trouble - Jonathan was brilliant!!
