We stayed 5 nights in an over the water bungalow. It was magical. This property met or exceeded our expectations. The large pool in the center of the complex is being rebuilt. The other big pool on the property is probably next. I still think it would have been a mistake to divert to the Hilton. Despite the construction, we still managed to have a great time. Things are obviously expensive, but it is Tahiti. The food was pretty good. Most staff members were very helpful and professional. Housekeeping is top notch. I’m glad we were not deterred by the construction. This management team knows how to run a nice resort. Well done!

Impeccable nature with a luxury vibe! Love the turtles in the lagoon, breakfast is tops, and our room is breathtaking. Dinner tonight at le lotus with a Polynesian show to follow. Walk the entire property early in the morning for tranquility.

We stayed here three nights before going to Boro Boro and one night in the return. On both occasions we were very well looked after. Highlights were the Sunday brunch including local dance show, dinner at the Lotus restaurant and watching the sunset while sipping a cocktail in the infinity pool. The rooms were excellent, we tried both the overwater and sea view. The staff here were all well trained, attentive without being intrusive and looking out for our enjoyment. We had hired a car from the airport and parking was easy. We enjoyed a trip around the Island as well as going into the main town to shop. Thoroughly recommend

We had 2 stays of 2 days each pre and post cruise. Overall very disappointing. Everything is very expensive which I understand but the quality of food is atrocious! Our rooms were ok but very dated. We are IHG members by the way! There is extensive building/repair work going on, which we were partly warned about last minute and asked for a room away from the noise. Sadly our rooms overlooked the construction of a deck bar with drilling and banging most of the day! Not good.

We just stayed at the Intercontinental Tahiti Faaa. Not impressed. First, the good parts. Check in was efficient, and our room was ready when we arrived at about 2:00 pm. Location of the resort is excellent, and most rooms have a great view of Moorea. Breakfast buffet is outstanding as well. The main pool is being demolished/refurbished through September, so there is noise and much of the area is cordoned off. This was expected, but it does affect the view from the Tiki Bar, main restaurant and many of the rooms. There were many issues I found unacceptable for an Intercontinental property. Many carpet areas were worn badly. The building we were in was being re-varnished/painted. All the varnished areas in our room were sticky to the touch - particularly the sliding door in the bathroom. They apparently do not have non-smoking rooms, so our first afternoon we couldn’t use our patio because the guests below us were smoking cigars. In the shower, the conditioner was empty. Upon check-in, we had requested a late check-out and the clerk entered a note in our file. We are Platinum, so that is usually not a problem. She asked us to call to confirm on check-out day. When we called, the housekeeping(?) manager told us no late check-out was possible because we had been assigned a room in which early check-in had been requested by the incoming guest. Lastly, there were only 2 channels on the TV that were in English - BBC and CNN. All in all, I would not recommend this resort, especially if you are an English language speaker or non-smoker. During the pool renovation, views are blocked for some of the dining and cocktail venues, and there is considerable construction noise during the day.

We really enjoyed our stay. From communication with hotel staff prior to arrival, to the arranged airport pickup through to arranged transfer to the cruise port for our planed cruise, everything was wonderful. We loved the inclusion and reverence of Tahitian culture, and the beautiful, but unpretentious nature of the resort. Every staff person we interacted with had a smile, treated us with utmost care and respect, and all made us feel at home. We felt that we were in Tahiti French Polynesia, not some insular resort that could be anywhere. Food was generally very good and the breakfast buffet was wonderful. We especially loved the daily Poisson Cru, Bok Choi and bacon, mushrooms, banana pudding, and all the fresh, local fruit. Really no complaints at all. All in all, a wonderful stay. I would definitely recommend the InterContinental Tahiti Resort and Spa to family and friends, and given the opportunity, we will stay again without hesitation. You should too.

A lovely experience in a gorgeous setting. First, the staff: very helpful and accommodating, incredibly gracious and welcoming. Second, the location: sprawling, manicured estate with a spectacular setting on the ocean across from Moorea, like sitting in a Paul Gauguin painting! Third, the ambience: a truly "island" vibe, gentle, relaxed, welcoming and casually chic; this is not a Vegas mega hotel nor "glam central"; rather it is a 1970s property developed when things were simpler and less glitzy but more luxurious in ways that count, peacefulness, attention to detail. Fourth, our room: notwithstanding it overlooking an inner area and near the passageway, it was spacious, well appointed and quiet. Finally, the food: consistently good to very good with the fine dining restaurant over the water being truly wonderful.

We arrived at the hotel within an hour of our flight landing at 6am. The reception staff was great, we received a key to one of the transit rooms to shower and change after the long flight. Towels, soap and shampoo are provided. Breakfast was available, buffet or a la carte, many choices. Another reviewer mentioned the grapefruit, so good. All our meals were good, except one, which was just not to our taste. Portions were large, meals and drinks are expensive, but considering the location, not unexpected. Luggage was held until our room (212) was ready, which was 12pm, so earlier than the 3 pm check in. Thank you for that. We walked around the resort, found a great shaded area by the lagoon. There was a dinner show on Wednesday evening, we did not attend, as jet lag was setting in. We stayed one night pre-cruise. We returned for an additional two nights after our cruise, and ended up in room 211, next door to the original room we had. Both rooms were very nice, super clean, ocean view, with a nice balcony. There is some noise from the airport, but not too bad. Plenty of storage, beautiful, large shower and a safe in the closet. Someone remarked that the carpets were dirty, the carpets are outside on the outdoor hallway, so they get wet when it rains. Lotus pool area has some construction going on, this didn't interfere with use of the pool or bar. The entire property was very clean, including public bathrooms. The hotel has a shuttle to Papetee available, four times daily, make reservations, there is a small fee, but much cheaper than a taxi. The entire staff was wonderful, very nice and always eager to assist. This includes reception, concierge, Lobby Bar, Tiki Bar, Lotus pool and the main restaurant. We enjoyed our stay!

We had a wonderful time here. Our room was spotless and comfortable (although the light switches were a little befuddling at first). The pools were great, and the tropical fish spotting in the “Lagoonarium”, while not as great as off-property snorkeling hotspots, was still a nice touch. Special props to the Te Tiare poolboy Yves (“poolboy” seems disrespectful, but that was the title on his shirt…), who went up a tree and got fresh coconuts for my partner and a new friend, and who also bandaged a gash on my big toe after I scraped it on a slippery rock on steps into the aforementioned Lagoonarium. We would have liked a little more variety with the food options, and wish the swim-up bar in one of the pools had longer hours, but overall solid property and great people. Also a special shout out to Moehaunui at the front desk, who got our stay off to a great start and sent up the most delicious Tahitian vanilla and passion fruit treat for my girl’s birthday. Oh and Isaac in Te tTiare restaurant for the iced coffees and the very thoughtful guava and Tahitian vanilla jam! The service was really fantastic, with beautiful little touches everywhere. Kudos.

An Evening at the InterContinental Tahiti We booked front row seats to the InterContinental Tahiti’s dinner buffet and Polynesian dance show, and it was quite enjoyable. The setting was beautiful, with tables overlooking the lagoon, creating a pleasant dining atmosphere as the sun set over Moorea. The buffet offered a large variety of dishes, including plenty of fresh seafood, lamb, duck, salads, veggies, and starches. While some dishes were exceptional, others were just average. The presentation was impressive. There was an abundance of desserts and fruits. The Polynesian dance show by Hei Tahiti was a highlight of the evening. The dancers were talented and their performances were engaging, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Polynesia. A Tahitian band provides live music and adds to the authenticity of the experience. The fire dance was particularly impressive, aa it was performed by a young boy who was likely a preteen. At first seeing him gives you pause, but it soon becomes obvious he knows that he is doing. There’s ann audience participation segment was a fun touch, and lasts the right amount of time without dragging the show to an halt. Afterwards all guests are welcome to go on stage and get pictures with the dancers. Overall, the InterContinental Tahiti’s dinner buffet and Polynesian dance show is a good option for those looking to experience local culture and cuisine. It’s not overly produced or feel to Disneyish.

Our first time here and it was superb! We stayed one night on the front and back end of our time in Moorea, and it was perfect. Beautiful property with several pools and excellent restaurants. Very close to the airport and ferry terminal. Wonderful staff as well.

We also used the restaurant for dinner. The room was also good and clean. However, the hotel does not have a classic sandy beach. We also didn't like the pool very much. But he fulfilled the service for us. I can't imagine a holiday stay here for a long time. Thank you.

We stayed here for 5 nights in total end of February and start of March at the beginning and end of our cruise. This is basically a transit hotel for cruise ships and the airport. It has amazing views and great staff. But the rooms are very tired now, the cost of everything here is incredibly expensive, so much so it is cheaper to pay $20 there and back into the town for food and drink rather than eat and drink of site. Renovation work was underway at the hotels main pool which really did impact on the stay, despite the hotel saying to wouldn't and the hotel offering nothing by way of compensation. The smaller pool is okay, however when cruise ships are switching passengers over, you've got little chance of getting a bed around it. All in all, I am glad we stayed here for only a few nights as a longer stay I am sure would have resulted in disappointment on a larger scale.

We stayed here a night on our way to Bora Bora. Overall this hotel is not good at all. First off, it is an older property (which is ok, as we stayed at the older St. Regis as well and that was a spectacular experience), but more so that it is badly maintained. The carpets are torn in the common areas, food and water were spilled in the restaurants and nobody cleaned it up. The rooms are much smaller and oddly designed and the breakfast buffet the next day was just average. However, the reason for my low rating is mostly because of our dinner experience. We had just landed from our US flight and were tired, but we had to walk a LOT for our dinner at Le Lotus, which was all the way on the other side of our room. There was no option to get a golf cart ride, the pathways were so dark that we thought we were lost and we passed 3 restaurants on the way and thought it was ours (as there are no signs), only to be told by staff it’s not ours. We finally made it feeling a bit exhausted and sweaty. Although the food was actually good, the whole meal was ruined by the staff. No one came by to take our order for about 15min, until we got up to remind them. It was so hot and muggy, yet the staff kept turning off the slowly running fan and then when we prepared to leave after signing the check with our room number (like every other guests would do), the staff lady who was waiting on us calls us back and confirmed we are hotel guests and hadn’t checked out yet. It was the most bizarre thing we’ve experienced in our decades of traveling. It’s almost as though she didn’t trust we were going to pay up or were legit hotel guests. No other customers were questioned, but somehow she felt that the only non-white couple in the restaurant should be double-checked. Hard to believe this is a Intercontinental hotel 🤷‍♂️
