Fabulous time at the Riu Palace Pacifico! We have been here a few times starting about 10 years ago. We decided to start going to other resorts in Nayarit due to the need to make reservations for restaurants here and the need for my husband to wear pants to the sit down restaurants. Haha. A travel agent suggested to return here due to many changes they’ve implemented-no longer the need to make reservations for restaurants, no need for my husband to wear pants, change to adults-only resort and the remodel. This resort sparkles. Everything is clean and new. They remodeled the pool and divided it into 3 pools. I love this. I also love the fact that they added bathrooms down on the beach. Previously you had to walk way around their huge pool to use the bathroom under the buffet restaurant. This makes it much more convenient! We are beach people. No need to get up early to reserve a beach chair! We were able to even move around to different chairs in the afternoon. There isn’t a lot of shade on the beach, but you’re able to pay to rent an umbrella from the nearby salespeople. The salespeople coming through are very polite and not intrusive at all. There’s beverage service on the beach starting around 10:30am. Jose’ and Lalo kept the beverages coming. I can’t say too much about the pool, since we didn’t use them. There seemed to be many chairs available though. We ate at the buffet a few times (Lisa was amazing and always had our drink orders at breakfast) and there was always something we found and enjoyed. The best restaurant was the American Steakhouse. They had a line starting around 5:15 to get in at 6. If you’re “elite” you can make a reservation. We loved the food there. I had the surf and turf. The steak was cooked correctly and I’ve never had such a huge lobster! Cooked just right-not rubbery. The other restaurants were easy to get into. An Italian, fusion and Mexican and Asian. The fusion was our least favorite. The addition of a coffee stand in the lobby was great! I had iced coffee most days. They also had some sweet treats there and sandwiches. We ate at the American Sports restaurant for lunch a few times. Fresh made to order. I should say that this resort skews older. There were mostly Canadian and Americans there and I would say average age was around 45-50 and older. Everyone was having a great time. The Palace patrons are able to go to the club at the Riu Jalisco and use their facilities. All in all, we plan on coming back next year and bringing my extended family with. 30 minute ride from airport to Riu. 5 stars for cleanliness. Check in , quick . Food, buffet was best. But keeping food hot was a problem. Pools, ok, water warm Beach, ok Beach water, not great. Weather, little cool in early am & evening. But sunny & hot during daytime . Service, great Rooms, great Drinks, no problems. Cons, no straws, no drink mixers, Beach water crappy, but no sea weed. Beach sand is hot if sunny, pool tiles can be very slippery & hot.

Overall very happy to have stayed here!

The hotel has a great atmosphere and very friendly staff. The beach is beautiful. The swimming pools are very nice but crowded, so we went to the beach. I do not expect the food to be the best in big all-inclusive hotels, but at RIU Palace Pacifico it is top notch. We tried 4 out of the 7 restaurants and we were impressed. The food is beautifully served and is of high quality. There is also a very nice coffee shop in the lobby that serves excellent cappuchino and pastries. The rooms are spacious, well kept and have comfortable beds. We loved the place so much that we will go back next month (5 weeks later than our last stay).

Krystal was our favorite. We are now hooked and will put both Riu properties and PVR at the top of our list.

It is a beautiful hotel, if you smoke they have 3 areas to smoke, one in front , one just down from the sports bar, in the sand with tables .I spent two weeks at the hotel , the staff is friendly, one of the waitress made up a special table for us on our last day, in the buffet , they our very helpful, if you make a request they deal with it right away, I felt spoiled , it was a fantastic two weeks , an will be coming back, the food was great , it did not matter where you ate at , they made you feel welcome , but if you smoke don't take a chance , on the balcony ,as some of the people who were caught had a three hundred USD fine. I recommend this hotel , as I only stay at Rui , an so far is the best of all the ones I have been at , the gentleman on the beach in purple , was for massages ,spoke perfect English , he was not pushy an was super friendly, so if you our thinking of going I recommend this hotel.

the hotel is beautiful, the staff is very good, the place is really clean, the maid on the first floor , wasn't as clean , the floors had stuff on them after the cleaning , the maid on the fourth floor , was so clean you could eat off the floors. The staff in the buffet was exceptional , the one waitress made up a special table on our second to last night, if you smoke don't do it on the balcony , they fine you 300.00 USD we met some people who were fined . They have three places to smoke , one in front , one at the bottom of the sports bar , an the beach. We were at the palace for two weeks, the only complaint was that the women , who were vulgar next door , were so crude , they moved us , after 11 days , they should have moved them. The food is fantastic, lots to pick from , the staff is mostly friendly , if you don't tip the bar in the lobby he gives only attitude, the women I mentioned , also yelled in the halls around 5 am in the morning . All around except for a few exceptions , it is worth going to the palace if you want to feel spoiled, the oxo is next door an so is the pharmacy, the turtles our just up from the townhouses , I will return , but the need to get a better place for smokers as they had a lot of smokers , an they should not have to sit in a sand pit down from the sports bar. They have bugs flying around an you need to take bug spray , or you will get eaten . It is not the hotels fault as they do spray , but the bugs our everywhere . They have plenty of chairs , so you don't have to save them even know people did , the beach is nice they warn you if they have creatures in the water , we saw stinky rays , jelly fish an snakes .A lot of dead puffer fish, they our killed by the fisher men all around it was fun . Met some fantastic people , they our all different ages , from 18 to 80 if you our looking for a great time go to the palace it is worth it.

Beautiful clean well maintained property. Recent renovations, large rooms with a great location. A short walk to Buceries along the beach and walkable beach either direction you go. All staff I encountered were happy, professional, and courteous. Good Buffet at La Peninsula, great selection of items daily, breakfast, lunch or dinner, fresh fruit, seafood, show cooking stations, lots to choose from. Pool side there is Pepe's Food and Tiki Taco. A la carte there's the Steakhouse, Kyoto being Asian, Krystal being Fusion, La Tosca being Italian and Guacamole being Mexican. The favourite for me was the Steakhouse. Nice little coffee bar with sweets, yogurt and juices and good selection of coffee in the lobby opens at 7:00 am. A bar cart with specialty drinks in the lobby daily at 5:00pm. The Sports Bar is open 24 hours. If you have compassion for animals please look for the resort Cat named Catamaran. She is a wonderful soul that has been at the property since a kitten from what I learnt, she is now 14. Please consider taking the time to feed and water her there are dishes just down from where the towels are across from the pool bar and restaurant. Some repeat guests bring her food and Temptations as a treat. The property has a this is your home away from home vibe. Being adults only is a nice touch if that is the sort of experience you are looking for.

An excellent all inclusive week in the sun. Hotel is wonderful, beautifully clean and well presented. Our junior elite club suite was comfortable, clean and well maintained. It was our first all inclusive (we would normally be more adventurous, but just wanted a quiet easy week to relax). The restaurants on site were all pretty good, the buffet was always good, well stocked and offered good choices. Only criticisms would be that the Italian restaurant wasn’t great - rather bland and poorly executed. I’d also like to have seen less fried and heavily sauced / oiled dishes in the buffet.

Have stayed at a number of All Inclusive resorts and this one is at the top of the list. Recently renovated, clean, superior service and great food. Had a partial sea view room and certainly worth the couple extra dollars. The grounds are well kept and very clean. Has 3 pools with drink service at loungers, the larger one is quieter and the two on the other side (one with swim up bar) are noisier and all the activities happen there. Lots of loungers available all day with no need to reserve unless you want a specific area. There is a washroom by the pools that people miss as it is down the stairs towards the beach tucked under the area of the pool deck. The a la carte restaurants were all great and you could get in with no reservations. Food was terrific although everyone's tastes are different. The selection was much better in terms of variety and quality compared to the other two RIU just down the beach. Buffet was also very good with dinner selections like Prime Rib and Beef Wellington on certain nights. Special note of the service by Julian during breakfast and lunch at buffet. His level of service is top notch and would highly recommend sitting in his section. Drink selection and service was very attentive and most top shelf brands available. The beach at Nuevo Vallarta is beautiful and you can walk for miles in either direction. Would highly recommend a stay at the Palace Pacifico!

This was our second stay in 5 months and it did not disappoint. We had an ocean front JR suite Elite club room which is considerably smaller than the full suite but has a great view. We found the bed to be VERY soft this time so sleeps were not as good. We talked to the front desk multiple times but nothing was ever done. We ate at all the restaurants and the food was good… not great. We discovered halfway through the stay that elite club members have a special area for a La carte breakfast which was amazing. The cabanas at the beach make the stay for us. We loved relaxing all day at the beach. We saw tiger eels in the water while taking walks on the beach. The resort is peaceful and welcoming. We love it and are going back in November.

This was our third trip in a year to this Riu. What a great way to spend two relaxing weeks! We love the layout - especially the pools area with all the lounges, umbrellas and sun screens! No need to play the hated towel game unless you're really fussy about a spot! Cleanliness is a priority so special mention to the maintenance and housekeeping personnel. Pool area, lounges and tables are cleaned often. Food is another plus for us! The buffett had lots of choices for all meals. The a la cartes offered even more dining options with special mention to the Italian and Steak House restaurants. Throughout the resort the service is fabulous! Special mentions to Janet and Maria at the Peninsula, Ruben and MiniMe at the Elite Club Beach Bar and Dalila at the American Country Bar. Friendly, fun and great service - a winning combination that keeps us coming back!

We are hooked. Our second time at this resort and everything was perfect. Loved it so much we have already booked December 2025. From the room, to the restaurants to the beach to the service, everything was top notch. We have been telling all our friends about it.

This is a top notch resort. In addition to all the other reviews, here’s what we’ll reiterate: We loved the cleanliness of the entire resort. It’s aesthetically pleasing. The beach massage tents were perfect (pink is our fave but it’s all dependant on the individuals). Lots of fun drinks, lots of deserts to bring to the room in the evening. I loved the food. Lots of return guests (we will now be one of them!). LOVED how many different people we met. It’s not a resort for one type of person/political belief. All are welcome and we all just want to float in the pool and have a nice time 😍 Bring earplugs, bring extra sunscreen, bring hair conditioner, and clips for hanging wet clothes (it can get windy).
