We recently stayed at this small, quaint oceanfront hotel for several nights. The hotel's location is near Punta Sur, so if you are looking for a huge choice bars and restaurants nearby, this is not for you. There are a few good spots nearby with live music. The manager and the staff are great, the housekeeping is very good. The food at the little restaurant is lovingly prepared. The biggest complaint that we have is that almost every day, party boats pull up right in front of the hotel and start blasting load music, which makes relaxation and reading on the terrace nearly impossible. The manager does his best to try to stop this, but it's not possible, the noise continues until the boats depart near sunset. The rooms are a little run down, the dirty upholstery has to go and the hotel is lacking in maintenance. The shore is rocky and there some very nice snorkeling along the shore as you swim south down towards the reef club.

The hotel overbooks and even though you have confirmed reservation they will call cancel you the day of arrival for no reason. Read other reviews and you will see it happens. Awful business practice. I will never book again. How do they get away with it ? My booking was...

Hotel La Joya is a hidden gem! The resort is so charming with a lot of character, and the ocean views are breathtaking! We absolutely loved waking up to the beautiful Caribbean view, and having breakfast delivered to our balcony was the perfect touch. Our room was large, with the exception of the bathroom. It was clean and the bed was very comfortable. Furniture in living room area could use updating. We enjoyed the infinity pool, and having a bar and restaurant onsite with great food and drinks was wonderful! The staff were so friendly and accommodating. I loved the location as well. It is less chaotic than the north end, but still so many cool places within walking distance. We cannot wait to return Hotel La Joya.

My wife and I, chanced on this place will touring the island. It has an amazing waterfront view, the perfect place to have a pleasurably lunch. The food was great. The staff was friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay here when we return to the island.

The wife and I made our 14 trip to Isla Mujeres and our 3rd stay at Hotel La Joya. We stayed in room 2 which has gorgeous views of the Caribbean looking out toward Cancun. The hotel has a nice little resteraunt with a bar by the pool which you can order food or drinks. The hotel also has direct access to the sea via stairs that has excellent swimming and snorkeling There are many concrete stairs that you need to get to the pool and sea area so if climbing a bunch of stairs is a issue for you I would consider another place. All the servers especially Nelson who was super nice made our stay just wonderful! The beds shower and AC were all fine!.The hotel is on the south side of the island away from the crowds of downtown.we rented a golf cart for the week but taxis are always around if you need one.If looking at hotels or properties to stay at choosing Hotel La Joya would be a great choice!

A magical gem; authentic charm in a picturesque and perfect setting. Osvaldo, Hector and Angel Miguel (little Mickey) are attentive and provide the absolute best service. The water is crystal clear and calm. The food and drinks are awesome. THIS is a relaxing, reenergizing island vacation.

This hotel is half the price of the one down the road where we spent a few days and while it’s not “perfect” meaning it’s not meant for the super high end tourist it’s awesome. The staff is great, the room is a tiny bit weathered but very comfortable. our ocean view was partial and it was great. They have rocking chairs on the patios! The vibe is very chill. We will bring our family back to this hotel.

My boyfriend and I have been spending the past 5 nights here and have witnessed how committed to the guests the staff are here at the hotel. Last night, the incredible bartender and waiter Miguel moved the dining table out to the sundeck at sunset and we enjoyed a wonderful dinner oceanside. It was incredible and made us feel so special. William, the hotel manager has been wonderful as well, helping us book taxis, find bike rentals, booked our massage and has made us very comfortable and welcome here. This truly feels like a little spot of paradise here on Isla Mujeres.

Although delicious, they didn't really make it as easy as it should have been. We kinda felt we were begging for something that was included. Pool is small, but clean. Steps are a nightmare, but other reviews warned us. We made an informed choice to save money, but probably not for us again due to minor disabilities.

I complained but they still continued the noise our entire stay. It was quiet the day we were leaving. We only had ONE vacation in 2021 so it’s unfortunate we had to hear so much noise. You couldn’t even sit by the pool. We won’t be back

My wife and I came here for her birthday and to decompress from work. The location is on the quiet south side of the island and we relaxed the minute we stepped onto the property. The entrance was almost hidden off the road but opened up to an amazing experience starting with our greeting from Osvaldo the manager. He and Hector were extremely accommodating. Our room was exactly what my wife wanted and had an exceptional view. We had breakfast delivered every day to our deck overlooking the ocean. It’s on the side of a cliff so be prepared for steps. It was quiet and magical.

Beautiful in every way.The price for a room and the meals we ate was very reasonable compared to others. If you want something which is quiet, relaxing and has everything you need, this is it.
