We have spent 10 nights here for our wedding anniversary. The hotel is first class with superb gardens, rooms, food and the beach and pool areas are simply amazing! Special thanks to Carlos in Chinola who gave us a first class service on our evening there. The Pachamama cocktail is superb and well worth trying. Martyna the maid looked after us well. We stayed in Room 3327 with great views over the gardens, air conditioning was perfect, rainfall shower just wonderful and a comfy bed too. Priol and Rodolfo and all of the bellboys were great and as there are no lifts at the hotel, if you have a few cases of luggage, these guys certainly work hard! Lots of food choices and the bars and coffee shop add to the overall great experience at this hotel. I also love the way the bar staff are wearing caps and all the staff have a specific type of uniform depending on what their role is. We did notice the hotel can be extremely busy at times as both the family and adult sections can be accessed easily and when large groups arrive, it can cause issues with large tables at dinner and it’s noticeable in the pools too and on the beach but the staff cope very well To sum up, we would definitely return and maybe for longer, if the flights worked out right for us.

We chose Hilton La Romana because we were blown away by Hilton Cancun All-Inclusive and were excited to try another Hilton resort. We chose Hilton La Romana because we were blown away by Hilton Cancun All-Inclusive and were excited to try another Hilton resort. While there were definitely some highlights, this experience didn’t quite live up to our expectations. Food – Some Hits, Some Misses The food was a mixed bag—some meals were really enjoyable, while others fell flat. We especially liked La Moustache and the hibachi restaurant, both of which had great flavors and a fun dining experience. However, some meals were disappointing, with a few dishes that tasted like shortcut, cafeteria-style food (I had spaghetti that literally tasted like pasta with a can of Campbell’s tomato soup poured over it). The buffet experience, in particular, was rough. It was not self-serve, and there simply weren’t enough employees to keep up. Servers were often manning three or four stations at a time, leading to long waits. At one point, I stood in line for 20 minutes just to get served. This took away from the convenience and variety that usually make buffets a great option at all-inclusive resorts. Pools – Beautiful, But Too Cool for Comfort The resort itself is gorgeous, with well-maintained grounds and a relaxing atmosphere. However, the pools were much cooler than expected, which made it hard to fully enjoy them—especially given how much we were looking forward to our swim-up room. While we did use the pools, they weren’t heated, and the cooler temperature made them less inviting. In fact, we never saw anyone using the swim-up pools, which made it feel like we splurged on an upgrade that just wasn’t worth it. Had the pools been even slightly warmer, our experience would have been significantly better. Staff & Service – Friendly, But Nothing Exceptional The staff were kind and professional, and we had no complaints about service. That said, nothing really stood out as above and beyond, so while we appreciated the hospitality, it wasn’t the most memorable part of our stay. Entertainment – A Bit of a Mixed Bag The Super Bowl party was fantastic and was similar to the level I had come to expect at Hilton AI Cancun. Outside of that, though, the entertainment was hit or miss. The Michael Jackson tribute night was a great example—it was fun in theory, but the details were lacking. One banner actually said "Kin of Pop" instead of "King of Pop." It was hard not to laugh at that. Final Thoughts While we enjoyed aspects of our stay, the cool pools, inconsistent food, and frustrating buffet experience made it feel not quite worth the price, especially compared to other Hilton all-inclusives. If the pools were heated, the food quality more consistent, and the buffet experience improved, we’d feel differently. But as it stands, we wouldn't return. Overall Rating: 3.5/5 – Gorgeous property with some great dining options, but a few key drawbacks keep it from being a standout experience. I'm rounding down to a 3, given that we would not return here.

Absolutely excellent Adult All Inclusive. Both the Adult side and family side were easily accessible and spotlessly clean. The family “flume” park was absolutely a wonderful treat, and well worth a daily visit. The Spa was also very nice, a super holiday treat (Cecelia & Crxel were especially welcoming). Food options were all plentiful and tasty. We especially liked not having to book “reservations” at each restaurant, unlike other all inclusive resorts (however special sushi bar & teppanyaki bar had limited seats, so those did require a reservation). The bar was exquisitely stocked (none of the mystery generic stuff). The bartenders (especially Wander, Mabel, Darlin at the Enclave bar) were excellent. Wander’s “Old Fashioned” with blow torched sugar really kicked it up a notch. Jose Resaro at the Enclave pool bar was also excellent. The butler service is a nice treat to have a stocked cooler by you all day (but not required, and an extra fee attached for the service), our butler Luiding went above and beyond to make sure we had everything that we needed, always accessible by WhatsApp text. Definitely worth coming to, and as Hilton diamond members, we felt very well appreciated for our loyalty.

This is our 2nd visit, the last time was 8 years ago under the brand of Dreams, this time as Hilton. We have never visited the same hotel twice. But it was such an amazing holiday we wanted to see if it was the holiday we so deserved. And it was. Still the best concept all inclusive we have been too. The staff work so hard to make our holiday perfect. We stayed in the enclave rooms and beach. We had lovely maids. We had amazing staff on the beach who always brightened our day with their big beaming smiles, offers of cocktails and just super friendly. 2 of our happy hour ladies from the beach bar Rosanny and Diomedy very special team members. Even down to the last 20 mins of our stay we had a lovely conversation with the bellboy Rodolfo Jesus. Our holiday exceeded our expectations and we appreciate all your work and commitment. After 8 years it was also lovely to see Freddy in the French restaurant and William in the Seaside restaurant. This holiday we also visited the Mare restaurant which was lovely and so were all the staff. Amazing work at team Hilton, thank you.

A beautiful hotel kept very clean by, on the whole, lovely staff. ‘Entertainment’ or lack thereof takes a star off the rating. No mattresses on sunbeds in the adults side main pool when the family side main pool does have is inexplicable, especially as the sunbeds are designed for mattresses and very uncomfortable without them. We were in the ‘Enclave’ bit and had mattresses so almost worth the extra just for that. The staff around that enclave pool and in the swim up bar were excellent. In the lobby bar it was largely service with a scowl. Really poor customer interaction especially from one male - Kelvin. Everyone commented on his rudeness. We had a sea view room which was nice and generally well serviced although view of the sea obscured by trees. Acceptable though. For an expensive 5* all inclusive hotel where we paid extra for the ‘Enclave’ status the lack of alcoholic drinks in the room is a little jarring. On arrival 2 small bottles of wine and a couple of beers in the minibar with soft drinks. Once the wine had gone it wasn’t replaced. I called reception to be told no replacements would be provided. We occasionally got some Pringles and even a small beer but no more wine or anything else - 5* luxury with added ‘Enclave’ status! Never had that before. Its unnecessary scrimping and undermines the overall experience. Food in the a la carte restaurants on the adult side was excellent. No adults buffet available for evenings which is strange but can live without it with quality of food available elsewhere. Entertainment is another matter. You cant even rely on what is advertised. Truly rubbish. I’m still on site. No live music at either advertised site tonight- why? Stage show was about 30min of nothing much. For a hotel complex like this where you are virtually stuck on site the entertainment is shockingly poor. The worst I have ever experienced and I have stayed in much less expensive places. The late night facility ‘until 2am’ is banging music in a small, not fresh smelling, ‘sports bar’ that attracts no-one unsurprisingly. Maybe a violin player for an hour or a pathetic silent disco in the lobby. Really its hard to describe how dire it is. Its such a shame. A lovely hotel on a great site, with some great staff spoilt by literally nothing to do after dinner.

Just returned from 7 days at Hilton La Romana Adults side and it was a fantastic stay!!! The grounds are beautiful and immaculate. Well cared for. We had a swim out room which faced east and was quiet and peaceful with full sun until 1pm. There were two loungers that were on a deck in 1 foot of water. You could also put the loungers on the cement patio. There were steps leading out to the pool that was used by about 10 or 12 rooms. In the afternoon we would go to the enclave adult only pool and enjoy the sun for the rest of the day. Housekeeping was on the ball, tended to our room every day and also stop by every night to be sure we had enough towels. Everyone, every single employee of the hotel, was friendly, happy, courteous, and eager to help the service was top notch the pool in the enclave section Was beautiful. The loungers were occupied early in the morning, but there were always a few available in the afternoon. There is an infinity pool in the adults section which is also beautiful. Both pools have swim up bars. The adults resort is connected to the family resort which also has a huge beautiful pool with a swim up bar. You could use all of the restaurants, the restaurants in the adult side did not allow children. There are plenty of restaurants to suit everyone’s tastes. There is also a waterpark on the family side, it was never too crowded, and there was always a lounger available. We loved the lazy river and the waterslides. We participated in some water sports, the lifejackets that you are required to wear really really stink. It took away from the beautiful experience of being out in the calm and beautifully blue ocean. My only suggestion would be to move the area where we did beach Pilates away from the smoking section. It is ridiculous to be enjoying an exercise class and smelling cigarette smoke. I don’t blame the smokers, they had nowhere else to go. I highly recommend this resort, there are beautiful areas for weddings and personal photo opportunities. The sunsets that we were able to enjoy from on the beach were phenomenal. We will return. In general.

A lovely hotel, location and people. We were in the adults only section but didn’t pay for “enclave” - if I’m honest I didn’t see the benefit of it. Yes you get branded alcohol, preferences for certain restaurants at certain times and your own special pools but I’ll be honest, I didn’t feel I was missing out not being part of it. The food was lovely at every restaurant we went to, the only thing to note is that you will wait forever in the Japanese restaurant (a la carte) to get served - service was very very slow. If Asian is your thing, it’s worth noting that the restaurant hosts 3 areas - teppanyaki, a sushi bar and a la carte. Would I go back again? That’s the question. I would 100% return if Hilton could sort out the saving bed situation. I had to get up at 6/6:30 every flipping morning to get a bed by the infinity pool or a nice spot on the beach and beds were already “reserved” at that point. If you want to just roll out of bed at 8/9, good luck trying to get a bed! Towards the end of the holiday, I noticed that people started to save them overnight by putting things out in the evening and that just felt unfair, especially as staff around would have seen the stuff there. I think Hilton need to add more beds or manage it better. With that in mind and knowing that I like to relax and roll out of bed in the morning on holiday - I wouldn’t return. I’ve been on my fair share of holidays and I’ve never known it be this bad to get a bad in the morning. If that was fixed, it’d be back in a heartbeat. I could even imagine that it would be one of the places that I would return to on year on year. P.s. special shout to Juan who we met in the Peruvian restaurant - that man is amazing. So warm, so helpful and so lovely. He stood out as a real treasure at Hilton.

Febles was our butler and he was incredible!! I could not have asked for better service. He went above and beyond for everything including balloons, decorations, gifts, wine and snacks for my 50th birthday. He made it a truly memorable experience. Olga at the Enclave swim up bar made the most incredible drinks and kept us laughing every day. The resort was breathtaking. The beach cabana was worth the up charge as well. Thank you for an amazing vacation ❤️

My wife and I and our friends went for a relaxing getaway and that’s exactly what we got. Our Butler, Febles, went out of his way to really make our stay easy and enjoyable. He took care of reservations when we needed them, brought fruit and drinks to our cabana without being asked, and much more. He made sure our departure went smoothly and just generally was always there for us. Our suite in the Enclave section was perfect— large, clean, well furnished and well located. The Enclave benefits suited us exactly and served to enhance the overall beauty and charm of the resort.

Just left the Hilton la romana adult side resort. A review and tips: - Butler service is a must. Febles was our vacation butler and I cannot understand why anyone staying would not go this offering. He arranged our cabana rental and our reservations at Sakura and the grill. He also provided each day a cooler with; water, wine, champagne and soda. My wife did mimosas all day because he also provided the oj. Also had a fruit tray mid afternoon delivered to the cabana. The best. - Sakura is by far the best restaurant although Mare was a close second. Only drawback on Mare was that there was a roaming cat in and around the tables. I’d suggest lose the cat from the restaurant does not give a good feeling on the cleanliness. - had a spa service and used the gym each day too. The spa was really good. The gym was very busy and had a short wait for a treadmill. - the room was amazing and had a nice intro bottle of wine on arrival and had a champagne on last night when we got to the room. Nice touch. - get the cabana if you can we got one at the enclav pool and another day at the adults pool. Worth it! $120 for the day - if you are diamond the enclav lounge has a breakfast, lunch and dinner buffet. Amazing really. And there is an amazing enclav bar in this lounge. Great for Hilton diamond members. - the bed was by far the best we have had at any hotel. Shockingly it was actually better than our home bed which has never happened. - we did not get into all the activities but loved at the end of the day sitting in the lobby with a live musician playing. Loved that and they were very good. A cello, sax and violinist. All great! - we did get duped by these trinket sale tables setup outside on Wednesday. Made it seem they were sanctioned by the hotel because they were in between the pools along the walkway. But they were extremely overpriced and started carving our names before giving the price. That I asked for right away. Long story short, a hustle. I’d suggest the hotel stick to the gift shops. These tables not a good look and a flaw in our stay. - Rodolfo who brought our bag to the entrance on our departure was very personable and even made a call to see about our ride. Turned out we were wrong on the time. I cannot think of the other person at the checkout by our bags but he was also very personable. Definitely the personalities that you want as guests arrive. Throughout the hotel the staff were very polite and welcoming. We will come back next year and be more aware on getting the cabana and butler, hopefully febles is available. Overall a wonderful trip. Learned a lot and will enjoy even more now knowing the ropes of the hotel.

Beautiful resort. Our butler Feblas was amazing and took care of everything that we needed including dinner reservations, cabana on the beach, and sunset cruise. He made our trip fabulous!!! Olga at the enclave swim up bar made the most amazing drinks.

My wife and I just returned home from our fifth consecutive annual visit for a total of six visits over the last eight years. That in itself should tell you how we feel about this property. I could talk a great deal about how relaxing thing are here, how beautiful and well maintained the property is, or how each year, the food seems to get even better, but the real draw to this location is the staff. Throughout our visits, we have seen so many familiar faces. A few have moved on sadly, but many more still remain. It leads me to hope that the management understands that supporting its workforce makes for staff retention which in turn translates into staff experience and proficiency. All of that makes for a superior experience for their guests, which should be their ultimate goal So, the staff… …they are all courteous, kind and professional, but in true Dominican fashion, they know to have fun as well. They were all incredibly gracious in dealing with my marginal Spanish and they all speak passable English so there is no problems with communication although “medium rare” (medio raro) caused a bit of confusion on one occasion. Our first night, as is our tradition, we had dinner at La Moustache. Freddy was our server and I think my face would have burst if I was able to smile as much as he did through the whole meal. He was completely professional but easygoing and he genuinely enjoyed what he was doing. The staff at Mare had to put up with us (me) almost every day at breakfast and lunch. Dominga, Kenia and Nancy all made our meal times together a blast. Both attentive and fun loving, they made every meal with them a joy. We lunched a few times at the Grill and Francesca was always there with a smile as well. You can’t go to an all-inclusive without having at least a few drinks. I still marvel at how beach service staff like Yesica can keep perfect track of yours and ten other drink orders, then navigate the sand with a tray full of drinks and still find you again! It’s like they install tracking chips on the gests at checking or something. I cannot forget to mention both Claudia and Reina at the enclave bar. Claudia makes some truly excellent cosmos and mojitos and Reina made us some fantastic old fashioned and aperol spritzes. A little know secret (at least to us) was the bar at Chinola where Yamenia fixed us some smoked old fashions. Fantastic! Along with all the rest, I have to talk about Victor, our butler. At one time, I considered the $200 weekly cost to be an unnecessary frivolity. That is no longer the case. It is treat that is well worth the expense. Victor was professional, personable, attentive and available whenever we needed anything but never hovered or pestered and gave us plenty of time to ourselves to relax. Every morning he would send us a listing of the day’s activities. He would then bring us a cooler of water and drinks of our choice and inquire about where we would like to dine and at what time. He made arrangements with Carmen, our housekeeper so that our room had been serviced before we stopped to drop things off before heading to lunch. He would always check up on us during the day to see if we needed anything. He would also bring us a fruit plate in the afternoon, but only after finding out at what time we would like it delivered. On more than one occasion, he appeared with fun drinks. Some in a pineapple and others in a cantaloupe melon. Throughout our stay, he sprinkled in other little treats and surprises along the way that just made things extra special for us. He even introduced us to his supervisor, Blanca. Come to find out, she has worked at the property since before the first time we visited, back in 2017 when it was a Dreams Property. To me, this goes right back to my previous staff retention comment. The week went by so fast, but thankfully, the older I get, the faster time goes by so our trip back in March 2026 is just around the corner. Gracias a todos por todo. ¡Hasta el proximo Marzo!

Very nice resort in DR. We were at the Hilton La Romana adults only for seven nights, eight days. In a room with a pool in the Enclave Club, which cost us extra money and it should be noted that not all the privileges suited us. The drinks in the Enclave Bar were of course better quality. The main disappointment was the breakfast in the Mare restaurant, only for Enclave, the menu of which was very poor. We had the best breakfast through our Butler, such juice as the one Viktor Val brought us - we did not find anywhere else! Also, the wine that he gave us on Anniversary, we did not find even in the Enclave Bar. Almost all days we had breakfast and lunch in the Caoba Adult Buffet, in general with a pretty decent variety of dishes and good quality. Since I have already mentioned Viktor, our Butler, I must say that the five stars of this review are only thanks to him! We had to pay extra for Butler's services, but we did not regret it at all. Viktor Val is definitely the best worker in this hotel. Thanks to him, we got the room we wanted in a quiet place, and we could also enjoy amazing drinks made from natural fruits every day. Pineapple and melon were simply delicious! If you need to quickly reserve a restaurant, this is also it! For some reason, Management did not pay any attention to our request for a quiet room and did not even congratulate us on our wedding anniversary, there was not even a ribbon on the doors. Viktor corrected this mistake. Champagne, wine and cheese selection from him were excellent! If we talk about restaurants for dinner, we liked the French cuisine restaurant and the Hibachi restaurant Sakura the most. The show of chef Hipolito was memorable for a long time! The resort area is quite large, clean and beautiful, there is a place to walk and relax, the water park in the family part was a pleasant surprise. Of course, the main advantage of the Hilton La Romana is the beautiful ocean with clear water, absolutely no corals, a sandy bottom and no waves, with a beautiful beach, where the biggest drawback for us was the lack of free sunbeds, the hardworking staff cleaned everything at night, but irresponsible guests early in the morning covered all the sunbeds with beach towels, of which there were a lot in the hotel. In my eyes, one guest kept four sunbeds for the whole day - two in the shade and two in the sun. The staff is very polite and could not help you get a free sunbed if you come to the beach after breakfast. The room was clean and cool, our gratitude to the staff, but the pool in the room is not very convenient for swimming, narrow in places, but clean and not cold, which we were afraid of. Conclusion - thanks to the professionalism and care of our Butler - Victor - all the shortcomings did not have a big impact on the impression of our holiday and we put five stars and recommend a holiday in this resort! And we strongly advise you to use the services of Victor Val !!!

After our adventurous check-in experience—where we thought we were at the main reception, but were actually enjoying a 45-minute waiting game at the bar—our Dominican adventure truly began. Meanwhile, our luggage was having its own vacation in the lobby, freely accessible to anyone passing by, as if it were a modern art installation titled "Forgotten Suitcases." The hotel room was clean, apart from the subtle scent reminiscent of an incontinent parrot. The lighting added a playful escape-room touch; with a bit of luck and the correct combination of switches, you might even get some light. The toilet paper was so thin it could double as tracing paper, making every bathroom visit a daring adventure in cleanliness—and unfortunately, there was no toilet brush to be found. On the bright side, the bed was incredibly comfortable, featuring convenient USB-A chargers on both sides. Additionally, the room was well-equipped with an iron, ironing board, hairdryer, slippers, bathrobes, and quality toiletries. However, the coffee-making facility felt nostalgically basic, featuring a simple filter machine that evoked memories of grandma's kitchen. As for the view, there was nothing but praise: swaying palm trees, colorful birds, and a beautifully maintained resort filled with tropical plants and impeccably kept paths, inviting leisurely strolls. The beach was so immaculate I almost felt guilty tracking sand onto my slippers. Unfortunately, the infamous towel-reservers were active early in the morning, but a friendly smile and a small tip quickly secured us a sunbed. The culinary aspect of our vacation was… interesting. The buffet restaurant offered plenty of choices but disappointed in taste—reminiscent of the buffet at a budget Dutch vacationpark. Our visits to the à la carte restaurants turned out to be equally adventurous, particularly the Peruvian restaurant, where a super-friendly host introduced himself as "our host for tonight," only never to be seen again. Our drinks arrived only after a polite reminder and after we were done with our dissapointing appetizer: the promised crispy pork belly, which had acquired the texture of a soggy but impenetrable sponge, probably after languishing too long in a warming tray. Equally peculiar was the meat at the grill restaurant; ordering "medium rare," you'd expect juiciness and beautiful grill marks, yet we received a grey slab of meat that seemed more in need of resuscitation than consumption. Probably, a sous-vide machine was the true chef here, with a grill merely playing a minor supporting role. Despite these culinary disappointments, the staff's kindness and warmth compensated greatly. Every staff member consistently greeted us with a hand over their heart, which was genuinely heartwarming. Especially at the swim-up bar by the pool, the hospitality continued, with cocktails served directly to our sunbeds or at the pool's edge with broad smiles. Tips were appreciated but never felt obligatory—though I'd still recommend keeping a few dollars handy. In summary, the resort is beautifully landscaped, and the staff deserves high praise for their hospitality and warmth. Dominicans are relaxed, friendly, and helpful. However, would we fly halfway around the world again for this resort? Probably not, as we can find resorts closer to home with better culinary experiences and fewer lighting-switch puzzles!

This was our second week after a week Caribbean cruise with TUI Marella cruises. We stayed in one of the enclave rooms which gave unlimited access to all restaurants and a separate pool and beach areas. TBH, not sure what the cost difference is but I believe it is worthwhile considering, as I don’t think we would have enjoyed as much without these extra facilities. We ate at all the restaurants which were all wonderful bar the Italian which was a little disappointing. Be prepared to get up early and reserve sun bed, as these start to find themselves with towels on from about 630am. We did always get a bed but became a bit hit and miss after 9am. Rooms are lovely and the resort is spotless with beautiful grounds. The beach is stunning. But beware of crossing the boarder line as it is adjoining a public beach with a few shops that made us feel we were going to be kidnapped if we didn’t buy anything lol. We quickly retreated never to cross the line again. The staff are all extremely friendly and helpful. There is a tipping regime which isn’t obligatory so we found ourselves tipping occasionally. However there was no animosity when we didn’t. All in all we had a wonderful holiday and would thoroughly recommend.

The property is beautiful, well maintained and well planned. The "family side" is about a ten minute walk along the beach where there are some restaurants and the outdoor theatre. We were in a garden view Enclave suite. The suite was comfortable, very clean, and well appointed. Argentina, our housekeeper kept it spotless. The entertainment in the lobby was very good. The restaurants were all above average to excellent. We had almost no problems with service, although Mare let us down twice. Still the food was very good. The tepanyaki at the asian restaurant was fun and the food great. You MUST make reservations for this. The Italian and French restaurants did not disappoint and the Meditteranean was just as wonderul. I don't like buffets, but this one was a cut above. Fresh food, proteins (chicken breats, steak, pork) cooked from fresh right in front of you. The staff is friendly. It seemed that tips were not expected but received with sincere gratitude when made. If you book Enclave or upgrade to it, you won't be disappointed. The pool is lovely. There is a bar with swim up at that pool and also on the deck side. The bartenders seemed more engaged with the swim up customers and not so much on the deck, but still nice enough. The Enclave lounge? Better than any we've experienced and we have experienced many. So many food options throughout the day, it's own bar and comfortable, spacious seating. This is an unpopular subject, but to the cigarette smokers out there...No smoking on the balconies or patios. Hefty fine if caught. Some folks broke the rules and didn't get fined, others did. There are designated smoking spots on the adult side - in direct sunlight and no seating. The idea being smoke your cigarette and move on. On the Family Side behind the theater and, ironically, adjacent to the children's play area, is what a little boy I heard call the "smoking tree." A large shade tree, with benches and cement ashtrays. No such thing on the adult side. I understand that it would be logistically and economically unfeasable for the resort to designate rooms that would allow smoking outside on a balcony or patio. An area like the "smoking tree" on the adult side would be nice. I met so many folks from the UK, Germany, France and Holland at the smoking poles. Some said as much as they loved the resort they wouldn't come back because of the smoking policy. One couple said it's inconvenient, but they come back repeatedly. My husband would make this an annual trip for us. I am more of a mind that I can stay at another resort that may be a little "less than" this resort if I could have a cigarette with my morning coffee or evening wine. To use a sort of "Star Wars" reference, the "force is strong" with the smokers. This resort is worth the price. There is a lot to compliment.

We had a fantastic time at this beautiful resort. The service was top notch and the water Zumba in the ocean with Yuliana, Maria, and Losnaidel was a highlight. Our favorite spot to din was the Grill overlooking the sea and sunset. We will definitely return if given the chance!

Within minutes of arriving, we were very disturbed by the aggressive and emotionally manipulative sales pitch for us to attend a presentation about a time share. The Carribean restaurant on the beach, while well-situated and with good food, inexplicably played loud war-drumming over and over for a full hour at full blast, despite our requests to tone it down. It was not romantic, relaxing, or appropriate. Also disappointing is the beach-front that allows for minimal walking along the water. Moreover, it is right next to a public beach where people blast obnoxious music. The rooms themselves, while adequate, were not particularly comfortable places to retire at the end of the day, and there was no pay-per-view or movie selections other than whatever was on cable TV. On the plus side, the food was mostly good, particularly in the specialty restaurants, and the cocktails were outstanding. The beauty of sunrises, sunsets, and the blue waters of the Carribean speak for themselves, and would have been more enjoyable at a resort with a longer and more private beachfront.

We stayed for 10 nights in March, our 1st time here but 5th to DR. We stayed adult Enclave and were happy to pay the extra so as to not restrict our movements throughout both parts of the hotel. It enabled breakfast and lunch at Mare & The Grill, dedicated check in & beach bag, Enclave bar/lounge/snack area which had air con, it's own pool and a roped off section on the beach. Our favourite restaurants were the Peruvian, Mare and the French. We never used the buffet as it was closed in the evenings (family side was open) and we liked sitting out at Mare every morning overlooking the beach. Generally food & drink was quite good but nothing outstanding. The room was spacious and kept very clean but could do with a refresh, especially the bathroom. Mini fridge kept restocked. The hotel and grounds are lovely. The beach is quite narrow but fabulously soft sand and easy to get into the sea. The reasons we knocked a star off were the lack of entertainment on the adult side in the evening and lack of seating. Would be nice to have some outside seating. There was a saxophonist or violinist but perhaps a singer/band to liven it up a bit. Also the sunbed game is strong. We sat in the Enclave section and had to be down there for 6.30 ish to get a good spot (for us this meant a two on it's own with a palapa) sunbeds otherwise are crammed in long rows under trees. This area is not good, it is roped off and has someone checking room numbers every morning but it is no different from any other part of the beach - Enclave should be a little special - so maybe cushions on the beds and more spread out. Other than this we had a nice time but would probably not return.

It wasn`t adult only , only certain areas were. We didnt upgrade so had to use the family beach which had a very narrow rocky path to it unless you entered via the family side . My wife fell and bruised her arm. the food was served as if in a school canteen. This was meant to be our honeymoon, It was a nightmare Be wary if you book this as all is not as it seems . would not go back again, have expressed my concerns to TUI they are not interested

My wife and I stayed in Hilton La Romana Adults Only for two weeks in April 2025 and overall, we had a brilliant trip. We stayed in an Enclave room with the room being very spacious and well stocked with amenities and was a relaxing space. The food in the hotel was absolutely delicious where ever we ate - the buffet was very good, the options on a lunch time from the beach or pool bars were varied and very tasty and the restaurants and evening buffet were brilliant. We are normally a couple who spend their time on the beach, however, the Enclave pool area was found to be incredibly relaxing, well kept, and plenty of space for everyone to enjoy it so we spent the majority of our time there. We received exemplary service from the Blue Bar at the pool with absolutely outstanding service from Olga who always ensured we had a drink we loved. The service we received from Olga was the best we have ever received on any holiday and would re-assure any future visitors that you are in incredibly safe hands with her. Hilton, Olga is a credit to your team.

The Hilton La Romana has been added to our annual calendar to come back to!! The Clean rooms, great food and an amazing staff! Our concierge/Butler Yoel was beyond EXCELLENTE! He even helped me learn some Spanish! LOL! What an amazing trip!!

Food was generally of a high standard,we only had one poor meal at The Grill (luke warm starter and a very overcooked steak). Couple of thoughts on improvements.Lobby entertainment,mattresses on the sun beds at the adult pool (considering they have them at the family pool). It’s the staff that are the stars of this resort. Shout out to the staff at Mare,Kensia,Nancy,Dominga,Heidy,Escarlen,William&Henry. The lobby bar staff Genesis,Reina&Kelvin. Diomedy,who served us the best margaritas on the beach. Last but not least the staff at Sakora ,Emelin,Joel & David.

Me and my husband have just returned from our Honeymoon to Hilton La Romona and honestly we have had the most amazing time here 🤍 We did so much research before booking for our honeymoon and honestly after reading the negative reviews and going to the resort, we don’t agree with any of them. Everything was utterly perfect and anyone who has made complaints clearly hasn’t travelled to many all inclusive resorts. Firstly, the hotel grounds are beautiful and spotlessly clean. There are gardeners constantly maintaining the palm trees, flowers and grass areas and they do an amazing job. The food was absolutely chefs kiss. On our first few days we were going to the beach huts for burgers/nachos/chicken tacos and paella but then decided to go to the lunch buffet and were amazed by the choices, so much so we went everyday for lunch after that. The breakfast buffet is also incredible, there’s almost too much to choose from. Fresh fruit, a juice bar to select your own fruits for a smoothie, sweet baked goods, we especially liked the baked cinnamon rolls in some sort of sauce 🤤 the evening restaurants were also fantastic. We especially liked the Japanese and the French. For the Japanese hot plate you need to book at reception but sitting in the restaurant without booking is also an option and we would recommend the Indonesian Beef, it was stunning! Entertainment of an evening was absolutely flawless. The live musicians in the adult lobby were our favourite, we just grabbed a few drinks from the bar and sat in the lobby listening. The saxophone player was ace, he plays modern pop and also a few oldies, loads of people were up and dancing. The water park was one of our favourite spots, people generally only spend an hour or 2 there so there are always beds available, the lazy river is perfect to cool off in and the slides were so much fun for big kids like us! Plenty of adults were there too so it’s clearly a big hit with all guests ☺️ The coffee bars in the lobby were great too - we became big fans of the frozen coffees, especially a Caribbean coffee which had rum in it, but hey, you’re on holiday so why not have a rum at 10am! The staff at the resort are all wonderful, they are so polite, friendly and truly make your stay comfortable. The rooms were absolutely spotlessly clean, air con was great and nice and quiet of an evening. People do get up early to reserve sunbeds, so it can be hard to find a spot by the pool. Some days we saw the same lady reserving 2 beds by the pool but never came, this happened 2 days on the run so I just moved her towels in the end. That caused no issues. The staff will help find you a seat if you’re struggling though. The beach is absolutely stunning. Always could find sunbeds, that was never a challenge, and the staff also provide drink service to your lounger on the beach which was a big plus. These servers work so hard, nothing is ever too much trouble. If you’re in any doubt booking, just go ahead and do it, you won’t be disappointed and we will absolutely be returning again in the future, maybe for our wedding anniversary 🤍

The beach has beautiful, soft sand and the water is calm and gorgeous with shades of clear. blue water. The staff is especially accommodating and friendly, particularly Maria Reyes, Yuliana and Rene the rock ❤️❤️❤️. The food is also delicious!

Currently on holiday here and I’m writing a review at 6am as I’ve been awake for an hour yet again. There is literally no peace and quiet here - music from early until late, people walking about and talking at all hours (and the acoustic attenuation is crap!). There’s also a weird repetitive knocking and it’s driving me crazy. Could be the local woodpeckers but I don’t know! SO annoying. Haven’t slept properly in days and it’s getting me down. Would happily go home to be honest. The resort itself is beautiful. Most of the staff are good, areas are clean and well decorated. Food is hit and miss and we had the misfortune of a rat running under our table last night in the Italian restaurant which ruined things. We’re in an Enclave room and the bed is comfortable and huge but the balcony is tiny and disappointing. We’re hoping to find a quiet area to relax today as the music around the Enclave pool is too loud and annoying. This trip cost a lot of money and so far, it wasn’t money well spent sadly.

My husband and I recently just got back from our vacation at the Hilton La Romana (HLR) All Inclusive. We flew into La Romana Airport and from the airport to the resort, it was about a 15 minute drive and booked private transportation. We stayed for five nights on the adult only side and paid for the Enclave room/benefits. These benefits include private check -in lounge, access to exclusive pool/bar, access to certain restaurants and beach area. Our first impressions were that the hotel was beautiful and the staff was very friendly. I want to specifically shout out to Olga who was working at the Enclave pool bar. She was always very friendly, funny and welcoming. Plus, she can make a really good drink. My husband and I found ourselves waiting for her to get back from her break so she could make us our drinks.  Pro's -Staff was very friendly and would go above and beyond to assist with a need. If you struggle with Spanish, the workers would easily switch to English and were patient if you wanted to converse in Spanish.  -With the Enclave, you get taken to a private lounge exclusively for Enclave guests. In this lounge, there is seating, a bar, bathroom and food. You can hang out and enjoy this area while waiting for your room to get ready. It was very nice to have access to food and drinks as soon as we arrived on the property since we had a short layover. Check in was fine, however, we were told to come back at 3PM and when we came back, our room still was not ready and had to wait an additional 30 minutes until we could go to our room.  -The resort is very walkable. It does not take long to get from one side of the resort to the other. You can easily get from one side to the other in between 10-15 minutes. There are plenty of signs directing you to where you want to go. It is very easy to get between the adult and family side. Despite easy access for adults to cross over to the family side, we saw no children on the adults side. That being said, there are signs posted that you have to be 18 years or older to enter the adult side and there were workers posted at those signs to ensure that children were not crossing.  -THE DRINKS! Amazing. They were never watered down, strong and tasted fantastic! Honestly, the best part. Again, go Olga!-We stayed the beginning of May. It could be the time we went, but the resort never felt crowded and never had problems finding somewhere to eat and lounge by the pool.-The spa was nice and was reasonably priced at about $145 for a 50 minute massage.-The resort was very quiet and we never once heard our neighbors on either side of us. Even by the pool, no one was ever roundy or making  lots of noise.  Con's-The food was not good. I would like to preface this by saying that by no means are we picky eaters. I had previously heard from a. coworker who had traveled a month before to not expect much, but was shocked at how right they were. The food was bland and just not good. There are many different restaurants including Italian, French, Peruvian, Mediterranean and a few buffets with a variety of cuisines. Two coffee shops are located on the property including one the adult's side lobby and the other on the family side lobby. They have a variety of different milks such as whole, oat or almond which was nice. There is also a snack shack on the beach that serves burgers, ice cream, tacos and nachos. When we went to the Italian restaurant,  I had ordered chicken alfredo and was shocked by how reminiscent it tasted to Campbell's chicken noodle soup. If you are into Campbell's, maybe you would like it. Breakfast at the buffet included powdered eggs, raw bacon, dry potatoes/pancakes and overall was very disappointing. I found myself getting cereal since most of the other options I did not enjoy and the cereal was stale. My husband got a burger from one of the buffetts during lunch and his burger was raw on the inside which prompted him to be sick later.  I will say, the French restaurant and snack shack were the better of the options. At one point, we did consider leaving, but Olga had our hearts by how good the drinks were lol and factor in that you are paying over $500 a night also was a big reason we stayed.  I could say more about the food, but overall, my husband and I were not impressed.  -The beach was small and felt tight. It was fairly clean and the water seemed clean, but just was mediocre. Of the beaches we have been to in the Caribbean, this beach was one of the least impressive.  -The gym was very clean and had snacks and bottled water. The equipment was up to date and worked well, but the gym was small. Like most gyms, you just have to time it right. If you go between 8-10AM, it would be pretty crowded, but since it was so small, having 3-4 people in the workout area would feel very tight. Around 2-3PM, it was pretty dead though.  The resort is  pretty and the staff were amazing. There is a timeshare service that they try to get you to go to, but it is not directly called a timeshare and they call it a "presentation." We had signed up to go, but ended up not going. One of the workers who signed us up approached us since he knew we did not go and asked why we were not there. We told him we had communicated with the concierge that we were not going to be able to go and he was fine with that. Was not pushy at all and never pressured us again. The staff will come up to you to persuade you into doing services at the spa and excursions, but it was never pushy and backed away very easily. Overall, we did enjoy some parts of our vacation, but the food did put a damper on the stay. We would not recommend unless the food significantly improves, but if you still want to go, we would recommend purchasing an Enclave room since the benefits were worth it.

The level of service we received from all staff was fantastic, but Byron was an absolute gem. He made this vacation so special and treated us with first class service the whole time. We are drawing an end to our trip here and although it’s mainly perfect it has a few flaws. The rooms are clean and fully stocked, the staff are fantastic all speaking perfect English. The food is good across all the restaurants. However a few minor issues we had. We paid for the adults only side yet still see kids in the adults only side/ 18+ areas and this wasn’t “policed” so even though we tried to get away from screaming kids it wasn’t always possible. We tried the buffet restaurant a couple of times and had the same problems with having to stand around waiting to be dished up food. Most of it is behind screens and you need to wait. Which can be an annoying when there’s a que for an item with no one insight to serve you. Also the infinity pool isn’t clean, there was lots of bits and bugs floating around in the water, definitely could do with more cleaning. Overall the holiday was pretty perfect no holiday has everything 100% right. But we enjoyed our time, we loved the concierge services provided to us having a personal butler on speed dial was ideal. The resort has enough to keep you busy, beautiful beaches but slightly smaller than we was hoping for. We would come back. 9.5/10 worth the money.

We just finished our stay at this property. We spent 5 nights here and had the most relaxing time. A big thank you to all the staff, but in particular: Desiree - who checked us in. She was great and so friendly! Ramondo - who served us amazing drinks at the adult pool Catherine - who recommended some tours for us. We did Catalina Island and the safari to a local village. We highly recommended taking part in both if you have the opportunity Keisler - bartender at Sakura! I also wish I could remember our teppanyaki chefs name (Saturday May 17th at 730pm) but he was also incredible. Alexander - our bartender at chinola (so friendly!!) We stayed here in May for our Honeymoon and had the best experience. The service, views, and cleanliness really blew us away. This was my first time at an AI so I didn't have much expectations for anything. The only thing I can really think to gripe about was the food, but it was extremely passable. It is definitely not Michelin star dining, but you're not paying for that. There are plenty of options, and we always found something on the menu that we liked. Our butler, Michael, would text us every morning with the events for the day, and brought us a cooler full of water and beer wherever we happened to be that day. He was great, and always met us with a smile. He even surprised us a couple of days with cocktails in a pineapple and a cantaloupe. I would highly recommend the upgrade to Enclave - which gets you access to the Enclave lounge and pool as well as breakfast/lunch dining at a couple of the al la carte restaurants. Olga at the Enclave pool bar was outstanding. Made the best drinks at the resort and knew exactly what we wanted as we were wading our way up. Lastly, the reason you come here for is the beach! Not the most walkable beach, but you can not beat the water anywhere else in the Dominican. Neon blue shades, and absolutely no seaweed. Solid snorkeling just feet away from where you walk in. It was absolutely incredible. We have many other places we want to visit - but we will definitely be back!

We just returned from another amazing vacation at this beautiful resort. The sea is absolutely stunning and clear. The entire resort is extremely well cared and super clean. The landscaping is lush and well maintained. But, in our opinion, the best thing about the resort is the staff! It’s so nice to see familiar smiling faces. Not only are they hard working individuals, they are friendly, knowledgeable and caring. Yoel from butler services is an outstanding example of this. He is always asking how things are going, how we are doing, and truly cares about his guest experience. We also had the privilege to meet Michael from butler services this trip as he was my sister’s butler. He’s also super amazing! We can’t leave out Olga from the adult Enclave pool. She’s a gem! The housekeepers kept our room spotless! We also had great servers at the restaurants. I wish I remembered their names. You can find a beautiful resort anywhere, but finding equally impressive staff members is something special and they definitely have it at Hilton La Romana!

This was our first trip to the Dominican Republic, but the kindness and attentiveness of the staff ensured that it won't be the last. While the resort grounds and waters were beautiful and well groomed, I want to speak about the staff at the Mare restaurant and the Adult Enclave pool. We traveled for the first time since I've developed severe food intolerances and I was nervous. I researched resorts and felt that the Hilton understood those with Celiacs and has many excellent reviews from people who visited. We upgraded to the Enclave level so that I would have access to a restaurant for lunch and dinner versus the buffet to ease my mind. Olga at the adult Enclave pool spent time with me helping me learn which drinks would be safe during our visit and which to avoid. The staff at the Mare restaurant (where we ate every single breakfast and lunch) were kind and helpful. The hostess, Heidy, would write my allergies on a ticket (todas los cereales) as soon as she saw us approaching the entrance. William, Kensia, Jennifer, Nancy, and Henry (and any others I may have missed) made my dining safe and successful. The ladies at the coffee bar taught be about Munne chocolate that was safe for me. I am truly grateful for their service and for the Hilton in equipping them with the tools they needed to keep me safe.

If you are traveling as a couple you will enjoy everything about your decision to reserve an Enclave Garden View Suite. We also added on a cabana (#8 at pool) with an amazing view and spectacular service from Belkis Mejia. The food was good and a few favorite dishes were the fried burrito at the grill in the family section and the fish duhrum in Mare. I enjoyed the non-motorized water toys. Our butlers (included service with our room selection) were Victor Val and Febles. They are an amazing team!! Our stay was even better because of their dedication to making every day special. If we had a question or request they VERY promptly responded and would showed up with special drinks. Housekeeping and grounds keeping were perfect.

Ok, firstly we need to say we have stayed in the Dominican for 2wk holidays for at least 15 times in the last 20 years. We found the Hilton la Romana a very Clean hotel on a beautiful calm Green sea warm water beach with no seaweed. The Restaurant choices were really good with the med & French being our favourite with superb fillet steak , rack of lamb and really good wine. There are also 2 really good coffee shops on both sides ( adult & family ) NOTE* If your over 18 you can use both sides no wrist bands required. UNFORTUNATELY, that’s where it Ends - well for us anyway. The hotel only has 2 lobby bars. The entertainment is virtually non existent, there is outdoor nightly entertainment team 45 min show on the family side with fold up seats. 930-10:15. If you Smoke you are stuffed and get fine $200 if you don’t smoke at a smoking station - miles from your room. The room service is charged at $10 a go. The Adult Side has NO cushion/ mattresses on the pool loungers. This was the first Holiday EVER by day 6 we just sat in the lobby bar Bored stiff at 9pm talking about going home ????? Which is absolutely crazy for us Who love the Dominican and LOVE our holidays. The other bonus is the TV has some good English film channels. We spoke to some of the entertainment team who also said since Hilton took over from Dreams they want to discourage staying in bars drinking which is why they stopped lobby entertainment, Karaoke, Smoking and dancing etc. Please take note Hilton as there are many hotels less expensive with far more going on.

Summary: Will NEVER return. Good views. Food poisoning. The good: Room was nice- we had a king room on the adults only side of the resort. Room service came to clean each day and a turndown at night- we were on our honeymoon and got a sweet treat for the first 2 nights which was nice (cute plate with macaroons and chocolates, then 2 Hershey’s kisses). Definitely could tell a difference in loudness on the family side versus the adults side. Adults can go to both side but kids can’t come on the adult side. We are young and were asked multiple times our room number to make sure we were meant to be on the adult side. Weather was great- beautiful and sunny. We did not do the extra cost of Enclave- not worth it, they get a few extra food options and a private pool and bar, but the pool was busier than the main pool it seemed and there was plenty of food options without. Our favorites were the French and Italian restaurants on the family side. Everyone (except for the concierge- see below) was great, kind and friendly. Definitely less English speaking people than other Caribbean islands, so a tad harder to get what I wanted, not a con because it’s not an English country just a heads up to those that only speak English. Things in gift shop are over priced so definitely come with your own sunscreen, meds, etc. Our drive from SDQ airport was about an hour and half. The BAD: My husband and I were both violently ill from eating the sushi at Sakura while here. I went to talk to the front desk who told me “it couldn't be food poisoning and there's many things that could have caused it”. We didn't go/eat off of the resort, did not have any alcohol, did not drink the water except for bottles, were not out in the sun as it was our first day here and we wanted to relax. The only thing was the sushi. We read multiple reviews online that said the same thing of about food poisoning, but according to the concierge “there are no other reports of food poisoning”. (https://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g663484-d1163459-Reviews-Hilton_La_Romana_An_All_Inclusive_Adult_Only_Resort-Bayahibe_La_Altagracia_Province_Do.html#REVIEWS - search reviews for “food poisoning”) When talking to the concierge, he said there was no one higher than him to talk to and the only thing he could do (after we first went to the medical center and pay $300) would be to give us room service during our stay. We did not need to go to the medical center as I already completed a tele-doc call with my doctor in the states as she had prescribed me medicine, cipro, before the trip as a precaution. We already had medicine and were hydrating with bottles of water per my primary doctors advisement. We were terrified of eating the food after and had a horrible experience with the concierge who refused to do anything to accommodate us other than try to say we didn’t have food poisoning. We were here for 9 nights for our honeymoon and this occurred on the second night. If you get food poisoning, expect them to completely gas light you and refuse to do anything. When I reached out to Hilton corporate, I come to find out that it is run by a Playa Resorts not Hilton management, and they word for word refused to admit that I had food poisoning just like the man I talked to in person.(reaching out to the BBB for Hilton did get a good response with compensation- thank you Hilton). They stated "Sometimes when a guest travels abroad there are many factors that can contribute to developing these types of symptoms in your stomach , such as the oils used in the cooking, certain foods that are very rich, such as different fruits, mixing different varieties, the heat, and sun or excessive drinking"- once again if it was the oils we would've had issues all week, it was our second day and we weren't in the sun, and we did not drink any of the water or alcohol. I would never stay here again after this experience and cannot recommend it to anyone. Had the concierge not tried to gaslight me, my review might be different. If I could give this a 0 star, I would.

Ok here we go on the review. First let me state that we are pretty well traveled in the Adults Only All-Inclusive Caribbean space, having stayed at Sandals, Secrets, Couples, Club Med and others. We stayed for a glorious 10 days May 2-12 in an Ocean View King Enclave Room....

Ok here we go on the review. First let me state that we are pretty well traveled in the Adults Only All-Inclusive Caribbean space, having stayed at Sandals, Secrets, Couples, Club Med and others. We stayed for a glorious 10 days May 2-12 in an Ocean View King Enclave Room. We upgraded to Butler Service as well. This resort provides a good value for what you get. It also attracts a global clientele. I’d say about 5% of the resort was from the States, and we met some really nice people from Essex, Stuttgart and Bulgaria. I’m gonna break this review down by topic so it’s easy to find what you’re interested in. Resort Grounds: 🏖️ Absolutely stunning, well-kept and very welcoming. Lots of little neat spaces throughout the resort. We stayed mostly on the beach but rounded out some late afternoons at the Infinity and Enclave pools. Love the water therapy at the Enclave pool. It was just what we needed to get in a little extra massage therapy. Lots of birds, flowers, beautiful landscaping and breathtaking views (as advertised). Beach: For us the beach is all about the water and this is pure Caribbean Sea here, not like the rough waters of Punta Cana. The water is like glass, crystal clear for the most part and very, very calm. It was incredibly relaxing. The public beach beyond the resort does get a little loud and rowdy on the weekends, but it’s just the locals having a great time, as they should be! LOVED LOVED LOVED the Zumba on the beach every day at noon. I made it 8 out of 10 days, so fun😊. Snorkeling: One of the main reasons we booked this resort is because we love to snorkel and there is the beginning of a reef right off-shore. Be sure to bring your own gear—it's great fun. We recommend swimming straight out diagonally from the adults beach and then swimming along the ropes over to the family side near the pier and beyond (where it gets pretty rocky and there’s a lot to see). We saw tons of fish, rays big and small, squid, a turtle one day and we heard the local manatee made an appearance over near the public beach. There is also a 2pm snorkel boat trip from Scuba Caribe that goes out each day that we will try next time. 🐠 Food: 😋There seems to be a lot of concerns about food safety in the DR and we had problems on our first trip to Punta Cana in 2013. We ate everything and had drinks with ice and never had a problem at this resort or on our excursion. There is plenty of bottled water everywhere, too. I have to say I’ve never seen a resort with such plentiful steak options and a variety of global cuisines. Overall, the food was quite good, barring the family side buffet at dinner which we only went to when we were feeling lazy one rainy night. We ate at Noor, Maré a few times, Chinola and Ausangate. We did not visit the restaurants on the family side. See note below. Pro-tip: You can get a Typhoid Fever shot two weeks before your trip to protect from Salmonella if you’re worried about it. Butler Service:🍹We decided to upgrade before we got there. For us it was worth the extra convenience. “FEBLES THE FABULOUS” was our butler, as we nicknamed him. Each day he brought us a cooler of anything we wanted, fresh fruit, some special drinks on two days (ohhh, that cantaloupe drink was so refreshing!), and sent us the activities and open restaurants for both sides of the resort. He also helped us book our spa treatments and excursion. We very much appreciated FEBLES. He really seemed to enjoy what he was doing, added that extra special touch to our stay, and most importantly, brought a sunny smile to our faces every day! We highly recommend FEBLES and will definitely request him if we return to the resort. Bali Beds: Ok, we splurged and rented a Bali Bed every day because we didn’t want to have to get up early to secure a cabana. They are $150 on the beach—a little pricey but definitely worth the privacy for us as the beach is packed with sunbeds very close to each other and not a huge amount of shade. Sailing: ⛵While the winds were calm at the beginning of our trip with cloud cover and some rain, they picked up toward the end of our stay and hubs got in a few fun sails. Just remember to book your hour down at Scuba Caribe the day before or very early morning. Catalina Island Excursion: 😎This was easily booked through the hotel and Scuba Caribe. It was worth doing once as the ride over and river ride back were super fun. The snorkeling, while great, was very rushed, especially if you are not a strong swimmer. The guide took us around Olympic style on the wall but there was a clip and it was hard to keep up... even though we are both strong swimmers and had fins on. We skipped the beginning of the second snorkel which was immediately after on the island and went out at our own pace so we could enjoy it more. Last, But Not Least, The Staff: ❤️ Everyone was super nice and we were always greeted with a smile. Sometimes things were a little slow, but that’s just island time. It didn’t bother us one bit. They all work so hard in the extreme heat to make everything perfect for guests, so be sure to show some love to the staff at Hilton La Romana! Now, you are probably wondering why this is a 4-Star review and not 5-Star. Having stayed at other Adults-Only All-Inclusives, here is the comparison. Not Really Adults Only: Hilton markets the property as two distinct hotels (family and adults), but the reality is it’s one sprawling family resort with about 1/3 of the resort dedicated to Adults Only and no separation between the two sides, except some signs. If you are used to true Adults-Only All-Inclusives, you should know there is only one shared beach. The family beach is on the left leading up to the pier and the adults’ beach is where the rocks/Bali Beds on rocks are. Even after reading hundreds of reviews, somewhere in my mind I thought the family beach was separate on the other side of the pier. To note: this did not stop parents from bringing their (often screaming) kids to the adults beach. Also: The beach bathroom, beach bar, beach grill, pizzeria, French restaurant, Italian restaurant, Steak Grill on the water, spa, gym, casino and all entertainment are on the family side. The special dinner was on the family side as well and the sax player doing “I Can’t Help Falling in Love With You” by Elvis became an interesting mashup of “I Can’t Help Falling in Love with Baby Shark Do-Do-Do-Do" and other K-Pop kids’ songs at the kids’ club down the path. Kids were doing sport laps around the dinner and putting their hands directly into the food, while the parents were having a great time and not paying attention. Just not really our thing. The only Adults-Only entertainment we witnessed were a rum tasting on Saturday, silent disco on Sunday and a hat making activity one day at Chinola. And what’s with all the country music at the bars? Would rather hear music of the DR culture. Smokers Everywhere: Even though there are plenty of designated smoking areas on the resort, people disregarded them and smoked all over the beach and on their balconies. There were several days we couldn’t enjoy our balcony or use it to hang stuff out to dry because of the chain smokers’ stink next to us. To the resort’s credit, we did complain and security came up to investigate our first neighbors, but it didn’t stop them. Our second neighbors just said, “sorry” but it didn’t do much either. Even at the special dinner, people were chain vaping during the event. If you are a smoker, you should know there is a $250 fine for smoking in the room or on the balconies. Rooms Could Be Better: We had a bumpy start checking in because we booked an Ocean View King Enclave room and were given a first-floor room directly in front of the pool with no privacy whatsoever. That was a huge no for us, so we expressed our disappointment and were quickly changed to a second-floor room with the vaulted ceiling that we booked. It was still right in front of the pool, but the location turned out to be very convenient. For a 30-year-old resort, the rooms are in good shape. With that said the beds and pillows were not comfortable and our sleep quality and necks suffered, especially my husband who has sleep apnea problems. The AC was hard to regulate, either completely freezing or too warm, with cold air blowing directly on our faces all night (which gave me allergies). No bathtub if that’s your thing and not having a separate toilet space was not very modern or convenient when we were both trying to get ready. Pro-Tip: bring a power strip with you. There aren’t a lot of outlets and they’re non-standard and close together so you can only plug one thing in at time. The room also needs more hooks to dry bathing suits, cover-ups, etc. Mini-bar was stocked each day with tons of water and Diet Coke for me. We just left a note in Spanish with what we needed. Be sure to tip housecleaning. They do a great job! With those few points aside, we really enjoyed our stay at Hilton La Romana Adults Only. It will be interesting to see what happens with the property when Hyatt takes back full ownership in October. They were already doing renovations around the resort when we were there. Maybe we're being a little selfish, but we hope they will turn the whole complex into a top-notch Adults-Only resort since Hyatt already has a brand, new Dreams two miles away. Either way, it’s on our list for a return visit! Thank you to the amazing staff who work so hard to make this an awesome place to visit. Very clean and well kept property. Byron was fantastic and helped with making our stay excellent. Beach and pools were great. Would recommend staying here.

Nothing mind blowing. I’d call it at 3.5 star resort. Pros: The grounds are nice, beach is beautiful but did have very little seaweed & can be rocky once you go in deeper. The French restaurant had really good steak. The drinks are really good! Cons: The food at the resort overall is subpar. Sushi was terrible. We did get sick from ceviche & tuna tartar so stay away from anything raw or cured for sure. The buffet was a hit or miss. Nothing great. The food was our biggest turn off when it came to this resort. The rooms are moldy! Like really moldy. We stayed in 1131. Especially the bathroom you can visibly see it and you can smell it in the room in general. The rooms are spacious but not luxurious. Don’t expect anything fancy and you’ll be fine. The first night the pillow smelt of someone else - meaning it probably hadn’t been changed. I just asked for another one but was a bad touch. Stay away from timeshare people. They’ll tell you they have a “gift” for you and that’s just to take from your precious vacation time (they’ll even tell you they’ll just present during breakfast). Can be pushy to set the tone right at the outset. It’s a one & done for us. We won’t be returning as the place didn’t meet the Hilton standard for us.

Yesica Rodney was the best! She always had a smile and took the time to get to know you....and your order! Amazing job, girl! Everyone at her bar was great! They have great attitudes and genuinely are there for your every need! They love their jobs and it shows!

Firstly we feel enclave was definitely worth it, having choice of the 4 pools and other exclusive areas definitely increased choice and enjoyability. We stayed for 14 nights and did enclave with a swim-up pool. Firstly we feel enclave was definitely worth it, having choice of the 4 pools and other exclusive areas definitely increased choice and enjoyability. Room was to a high standard, with minibar, snacks and insect repellent topped up regularly. I have read a lot of people complaining swim-up pools are too cold. Whilst they are definitely colder than the main pools, this didn't affect our use of the swim-up, and we used it everyday. Staff on the whole were very very friendly and attentive, from cleaning staff to receptionists, pool staff and waiters. In particular the staff at the coffee shops, notably Eliza, Rosouly, Juana, Lhyz, Veronika and Francis (and more too but I forgot their names) were all so lovely and a credit to the hotel!! Only minor problem was certain pool waiters did not serve or acknowledge your existence if you didn't tip on the first round of drinks that day. We thought the choice of food was perfect. The number of restaurants and the variety of food they serve meant meals didn't feel repetitive. We enjoyed all meals, however a lot of meals were not accurate (e.g. a plain burger) Wifi worked perfectly in the room. This was the same for most of the resort, in some places it was a bit hit and miss. Sunbeds were almost always available at all points in the day across all 4 pools and the beach. We would often spend the morning in the swim-up, afternoon at the pools and beach, and always got a sunbed. The beach and the sea was just as pictured, calm, warm and very clear. This was one of the many reasons we booked here. The free canoeing and pedalos also was a lovely add on to the stay and was enjoyable. The waterpark too was enjoyable and never too busy, with something for all ages. Overall an amazing stay and we will definitely look to return in the future!

Arrived on the 25th May Stayed for 14nights . Staff very welcoming and friendly . After being shown our lovely room overlooking the Enclave pool ,we realised we had little choice but to upgrade or would feel we would not be able to make full use of all the hotels facilities . If you are able to i would advise anyone to do the same . The hotel staff with a few exceptions were lovely ,friendly ,Helpful ,Professional. The rooms ,Toilet facilities,pools& the beach were all kept lovely . The Noor ,The Moustache, were our favourite restaurants , Sakura we left after tasting the main course , Grim best describes it. Most of the restaurants we ate at were inconsistent although La mare for Breakfast and lunch were really good . The lobby enclave Bar had the best air con in the hotel and good to cool off in although the service could be a bit hit or miss ,the dollar bill dictating the level of service . We went on two trips The snorkelling to Catalina and the Buggies and cenote trip , The first gave you a 25minute snorkel off what looked to be the remanent of a dying reef ,to be honest i saw more fish off the beach at the hotel . The second trip the buggies were a lot of fun although the transfer time from the hotel was 2 hours ,The cenote was a disappointment as was the need to sell us Chocolate,Cigars . On the whole we had a lovely holiday , But found The noise levels around the hotel ,the scuba boats roaring off and the music starting at 0745hrs off putting at the beach. We luckily had a room on Block 1 floor 3 and escaped most of the noise . There’s not enough good things I could say about the service my now fiance and I had on our special trip. First off, the adult enclave bar was unlike any I’ve been at in our numerous stays at all inclusives. Jose Rosario, Olga and Madelin were FANTASTIC!! The most friendliest people I’ve encountered, poured heavy and we loved talking with them during our time. This resort is spectacular from top to bottom (love the fact that the enclave pool has complimentary sun bum sunscreen for guests) and the views from this place are unlike anything else. It’s a true paradise every single day when here.

Good Day We travelled to the Hilton La Romana all inclusive adults only Resort to Celebrate our Wedding Anniversary from June 1st - June 6th 2025 , We would like to extend our gratitude and thanks to the entire team for providing such a fantastic and memorable experience . From the moment we arrived we were welcomed by such a friendly , courteous , hard working and happy staff . The Resort is immaculate for everyone , the views , the pools , the restaurants , the buffets and choices are all top class , the beach is Magnificent , and to add the Resort is maintained to highest level of cleanliness . We would like to give special thanks to Ms Ross ( Front Desk Reservations), our first contact and so pleasant , and Mr Noel (FDR) , Mr Melvin (Buffet ) and Ms Martina. We stayed for 3 nights in the enclave garden view Adults only. The beach is perfect and was the highlight. The grounds of the hotel are beautiful and well kept. Although we paid for the Enclave, we thought the Enclave beach section was very crowded so we hung out in the regular beach section for peace and quiet. Our favorite restaurants were Sukura (Japanese: sushi was amazing) and Italian. We did not try Noor the Mediterranean however many said it was the best. Lots of variety and good food overall if you upgrade to Enclave. The room is fine although AC was not super strong and the shower leaked water. Entertainment was ok. Nice to have the violinist and sax player. We also tried silent disco which was fun. Would recommend this great hotel.

After spending a week at the resort (Enclave part) all we can say is that we love The blue bar (swim up bar). Here Olga and Joseluis creates any drink you want with ease and a happy smile. They were amazing! We would definely book the Enclave again!
