Disappointing-definitely not a 5 star hotel at best 4 star.
Service - this was woeful. It took ages to get served and then actually to get your drink in front of you. The number of times you could witness the staff standing around and chatting with one another rather than actively servicing customers. Often your order would be taken but then forgotten, resulting constantly asking again.
Pool - cigarettes left in ashtrays around the pool, they were there for the entire 14 days we were there. Not cleared for the following morning. Hardly any pool service for drinks. Really hit and miss then they came round if at all.
Food - this was ok. The Thai pop up was good. Buffet restaurants generally luke warm unless you had the pasta cooked in front of you. Salad bar not regularly topped up. I waited at least 10 minutes to get some grated carrot/salad (empty containers). No one seemed to be doing the basics. Table clearing at breakfast slow. Plates etc left so tables weren’t available to use.
Rooms - 4 coffee pods for free, then you had to pay for more?!!
Aircon poor, dated system that resulted in very hot nights sleep. The best aircon was in the toilets -a pleasure to go in.
I suggest the management team get a grip of the situation. Clearly training and ‘systems’ are not working or adequate. It is highly unlikely you will get returning customers. I for one would not recommend Awali or return.

This is a hard review to write. We came here 12 years ago and loved it so decided to return again hoping for more of the same. Oh dear what a disappointment.
It’s getting 2 stars for the 3/4 staff that were very good and the room and setting being good, not excellent just good.
So where to start.
We witnessed staff arguing, poor service at for breakfast, lunch, dinner there was something at everyone.
Breakfast milk missing, had to get ourselves out of the fridge, lunch asking 5 times for water or coke. Dinner running out of wine or beer.
Food was average at best the buffet dreadful, especially the pizza night!
So on the 2nd day we tried to raise concerns with management and there really were not bothered. Not once did they check up after to see if things had got better.
There were ants in the infinity blue restaurant all over the outside tables so had to move, Also down at the c beach all on the beach part.
Staff wiping their hands on your glass before they gave it to you.
We booked the fishing trip and nobody turned up. Waited over 30 mins.
Staff to book trips had no knowledge of any of them and were rude and unhelpful
Everything has a supplement including the coffee pods in the room once you use the first few.
Honestly the management really need to go back to basics here and retrain the staff and themselves it needs a massive service overall.
I really hope they get some trouble shooters in before it’s too late. I’ve been watching the reviews on here and seeing the low scoring ones get deleted within a day so hoping this one stays.

A fabulous stay! Staff are amazing and so friendly. All our needs were catered too and the food was delicious. The the buffet offered a huge variety and each night was a different theme. We will definitely return and recommend to friends and family.

The best thing about this hotel is the Spa. It is worth a visit or 3. The staff are so lovely and welcoming. I had 3 treatments with 3 different staff and all treatments were excellent. The spa is relaxing and calm and you never felt rushed and the level of service is high without being pretentious.
The hotel its self is nice and was particularly quiet when I stayed. The staff were very helpful and polite. The buffet is disappointing. I found the cold offerings in the chill room rather limited and basic. If you arrive 15mins before breakfast is due to end again options are limited. We arrived and were told that they did not have ingredients to make fresh juice drinks when you know they had them in the main kitchen but as it was 15mins before end of service it was not an option.
The hotel is in a nice setting though the rooms are a little dated and could do with an upgrade.

Week stay this hotel is NOT 5 star it could be but in my opinion is poorly managed the hotel is set in the most beautiful setting the reception area is very pretty BUT. the rooms are ok a little tired beds are comfy but we had cupboard doors that were slack and one night we had to call for a plumber as the sink had leaked and floor was swimming they did fix it straight away the adult pool area the pool is nice but the beds are grubby and I never saw anybody hose or sweep the floors and it did feel dirty I complained about ashtrays not being emptied I hate cig buts the food in buffet is ok but the service is terrible birds and I mean a lot of birds eating off left plates and never saw anybody wash a table down in between people just lack of hygiene there’s plenty staff but they stand in groups talking rather than working the servers round the pool were very hit and miss not the service u would expect for 5 star and the main bar not the people behind but the servers especially at night they are the laziest I’ve ever seen they pretend they carnt see they never get an order correct we sat 25 mins before I went myself and was asked to sit down they would bring it they should all have a section each instead they just randomly walk about don’t write any orders down forget who or what u ordered and everybody we spoke too had the same complaint the blue restaurant food is nicer and the staff more efficient but one day they had a Buffett lunch and too my horror there was bread and sauces in a section uncovered and when I say it was covered in flys I mean covered The spa. Massage is lovely and the massage excellant. The staff serving as well I thought some of the uniforms were very grubby not just that day but ingrained dirty guy had white trousers on they were filthy this hotel could be a really nice hotel but standards are not 5 star we paid a lot of money to come and it didn’t meet my expectations a week has been enough it’s a shame because I think if they got on top of it could be nice but I wouldn’t return I’m not a moaner as a lot of people we spoke to felt the same.

We stayed at Heritage Awali and had a fairly mixed experience overall. While there were some lovely touches, the stay didn’t quite reflect the five-star standard we were expecting.
The golf course was a real highlight – beautifully kept and a great experience to play. We also enjoyed a delicious lunch at the golf course restaurant, and the views throughout the property were stunning. A particularly nice touch was the included complimentary massage during our stay, which added a bit of luxury and relaxation. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the coconut shack cocktails were a lovely extra detail.
That said, the rooms didn’t feel five-star, despite great housekeeping they need to be refurnished and updated to in-keep with a 5* standard, and we didn’t feel like five-star guests – especially when compared to the more premium sister resort next door. Because we weren’t staying at that resort, many of the restaurants and activities came with an additional supplement, which added unexpected costs.
Must note that the food was incredible at Gin'ja, which was a lovely experience, but again came at an extra cost due to it being part of the sister hotel. We also attended the Boma pop-up night, which had a nice vibe but felt overpriced for what was included. It would also have been nice to have guest relations suggest and book dinners for the duration of our stay instead we needed to figure out which to book each evening as they sometimes had different menus/events.
We likely wouldn’t return, but for those looking for a quieter break with beautiful views and great golf, there are still enjoyable elements to be found.

We used the spa for massage which we enjoyed. We used the gym which was well equipped. We took the e-bike tour with Steve to the Rochester waterfall which we swam in, and to Gris Gris and a few other places of interest, he was an excellent guide and we thoroughly enjoyed the trip.
Our room was the standard sea view, it was spacious, well equipped and comfortable although we were not in there much really!
An excellent holiday all round. I would love to go back to Mauritius and explore further

Paradise found. Such kindness and genuine care of guests, attention to detail in accommodation and food in this luxury resort. Add a spa with treatments by Tatiana to compliment your stay. Fresh coconut drinks from the Coco Shack. One you’ll want to visit again.

Great hotel in a great location with lots to see and do within a short taxi ride . The golf here was also perfect. The place was clean and the gardens well kept . The staff were very friendly and helpful our cleaner shila kept our room immaculate. The restaurants around the 2 hotels were enough for our 9 night visit with enough choice. The African theme night boma was great and so was the food . I would definitely come back to this hotel

Restaurants' bars and pools were well presented and immaculate. I have multiple allergies and once I told the catering manager every food or drink station we visited had the full list and offered choices without me having to mentioning it further sometimes offering a bespoke menu!. Special mention to, Jay, Jimmy, Linesh, Snema, Mervin, Nitisha, Trecyka and others.

We stayed here on the all inclusive package for 2 weeks.
We had an incredible experience. The restaurants included are great - we really enjoyed infinity blue for lunch and evening meals. The breakfast buffet is excellent & the Monday evening buffets of Mauritian cuisine is very tasty. Zafarani is also really tasty Indian cuisine for evening meals. We often had lunch at le chateau golf clubhouse too which was excellent with lots of choices.
The service at the hotel is top notch, including drinks around the pool and beach - particular shout out to Olivier for always looking after us!!
We played golf everyday at le chateau. It’s an excellent course and the service of everyone in the golf club was fantastic. Big thanks especially to Oodikesh for great service here. It was easy to book tee times simply the day before, often we’d book the 7am tee time when the course is quiet and finish in time to enjoy lunch and drinks in the club house, included on our package. Staying here also allows you access to the fantastic La Reserve links golf course which was great.
The staff on reception are also so helpful, especially in booking excursions out of the hotel such as Chamarel and the quad bike tour of the bel ombre nature reserve. Big thank you to Jaishiny for being so kind and knowledgeable!
We are already excited to plan another trip to the beautiful Heritage Awali. 🇲🇺❤️
