The experience was average at best. They had sales people who badgered you constantly about joining the unlimited vacation group. And it never stopped the whole time. The food was OK and overall, we enjoyed ourselves, I’m just used to above and beyond. One thing you should know is That there are three levels of service, allure Xcelerate, and Xhale. We thought we were getting the Xhale experience because it wasn’t clear at all at booking. Be aware of the differences before you book. It was very disappointing to learn that we didn’t get to use all of the amenities as we had thought when we booked. You could get much more for the same amount of money at another resort.

Stayed in an Xhale Ocean View King room Feb 8-15, 2025 and had a wonderful overall experience at this adults-only resort. We are UVC members, so we were able to enjoy the exclusive rooftop pool, lounge access, and breakfast at Silk City restaurant. One can always upgrade at check-in to access these areas if you are not a member, however I don’t believe that is required to have a great time here. The resort was very clean, the staff was professional, and the food at all of the restaurants was excellent. I cannot have dairy/lactose, and at every restaurant I was asked about food allergies and they accommodated me 100%. The regular breakfast buffet (which we preferred over the Silk City restaurant) was great with made-to-order omelets and had a large variety of quality food available, including outstanding fresh-made juices like Beet Goddess and Green Juice and salmon and smoked fishes for bagels. My husband enjoyed eating two plates of Mexican breakfast food and fresh fruit every morning. For lunch, only poolside grilled food or the main buffet were available - no specialty restaurants - but the buffet still had excellent food, some of which I recognized at dinnertime. For dinner, there are several restaurants to choose from on the property and no reservations are allowed (with the exception of the buffet), so you must get your name on the list and wait with a pager/beeper. One drawback was, even when going to dinner at 9 pm which I thought was an off-peak time, there was still quite a wait for dinner. During the week for seven dinners, we ate twice at the Italian restaurant, Spumante, once at the French restaurant, Co-quette, which took us three times to successfully get into!; once at the Mexican restaurant, Picante, once at the main buffet, once at the Sushi Terrace, and our last night at the Asian restaurant, Silk City - all had EXCELLENT food. People who complain about the food must exist on highly processed food, because everything here was fresh made and seemed high quality. The 24-hour coffee shop was great and we had a double espresso every afternoon. Room: the Xhale ocean view king room bed was firm but comfortable, had four fluffy pillows, and the glass shower had two waterfalls in addition to a wand with lots of hot water available. The mirror had a Bluetooth connection and speakers on it and we connected our SiriusXM streaming music to enjoy while showering and getting ready for dinner. There was also a tablet in the room so you can easily put on the Do Not Disturb or Clean My Room requests. The A/C worked very well and you could toggle from Celcius to Fahrenheit. The thick, white robes are amazing and I actually bought one to take home with me.
The resort’s small gym was modern and adequate, but full of people, meaning no cardio machines available from 8 to 10 am. Therefore I had to work out later in the day. Also, there was only one set of 5, 10 and 15 lb free weights and at least three people waiting to use them - Breathless hotel managers please purchase more free weights in addition to Kettlebells! The spa was nice, we had a 50 minute “relaxing” couples’ massage which was excellent. The spa staff and massage therapist ladies were very professional. Pools: the three pools all have different vibes going. There’s a large, main pool by the beach which is more for activities such as water aerobics, basketball, etc. The second pool is on the rooftop of one of the low buildings and is a party pool with techno music and live performers and has a champagne bar ($$$ extra). Everyone looked extremely happy there. The third pool is a rooftop pool on a tall tower and is for Xhale / UVC members only and is more of a pool for relaxing/chilling. Regarding the beach, we had so much fun at the pools that I’m ashamed to say we didn’t set foot on the beach. The nightly entertainment was good - we were able to see it all from our balcony. My favorite was the fire show.
Smoking - a major drawback. I was unaware that this was a smoking resort (Secrets The Vine in Cancun is completely non-smoking) and that the smoking areas were directly outside the main door to exit the resort to go into the pool / gym / activities / restaurants area. This area should be moved far away from the entrances - I shouldn’t have to breathe in cigar and cigarette smoke when entering or exiting the main building. Also we encountered smoke from the people below us while out on our balcony, and I remember being told at check-in that smoking was not allowed on the balconies…ugh. Across the street from the resort there’s a sculpture art park that is mildly interesting and a lagoon canal park where you can watch boats go by that are going into the main ocean.

The service they provided throughout the entire week was wonderful and they all made sure we had an excellent last day experience today…..The chef made a special breakfast for my wife and I that was awesome .
We would also like to recognize Emi and Irvin at the exhale club lounge bar. Their customer service is top-notch! My wife discovered espresso martinis and is hooked thanks to those two guys!!!
ask them for a mini beer and Mexican candy shot. You will not be disappointed.
Housekeeping was also great for our entire stay.
We will be back next year! Great resort and experience.

The resort itself is stunning. We stayed in a room in the non-upgraded section and still found it to be gorgeous — modern, clean, and very comfortable. The ocean view from our room was incredible, even though we were on the edge of the building and could hear some traffic noise. Just note that you won’t hear ocean waves, as the resort is situated on a calm cove.
The main buffet was impressive, especially for lunch. As a pescatarian, I had plenty of great options. Dinner, however, was hit or miss. The buffet is closed in the evenings, and not all restaurants are open every night, so planning ahead is key. The seafood restaurant was definitely our favorite — our server, Ivan, was knowledgeable, energetic, and very accommodating of dietary restrictions.
Unfortunately, the beach was by far the worst part of the resort experience. It was uninviting — smelly, full of seaweed, and simply not swimmable. There’s a public access point right beside the resort, so the small strip of beach often felt crowded. Compared to the west shore of Cancun, this beach is a huge disappointment.
There’s a small, clear area free of seaweed, but it’s more like a shallow puddle and not inviting for a swim. The beach isn’t walkable either — one side is blocked by large boulders, and the other by a channel that connects to a nearby lagoon. The area smells strongly of sulfur, and there are warning signs about crocodiles that may cross over from the lagoon to the beach.
Bottom line: if you plan to spend time at the beach, this resort isn’t the right fit. Stick to the pools, or consider a resort on a swimmable beach elsewhere in Cancun.

My husband & I had the most beautiful wedding-moon at Breathless Cancun Soul on 3.20.25. The wedding coordinators Mitzy Espinosa and assistant Daryl were absolutely AMAZING. Mitzy answered every email & concern I had. I worried the heck out of her but she was always so prompt in her email responses and really put my mind at ease. I mailed a package to her via DHL of important items for our ceremony and she made sure DHL delivered the package timely. My husband & I traveled alone with no wedding party. We kept it very intimate. On the day of our ceremony Daryl helped me tremendously. Mitzy & Daryl helped me with my dress & everything in between. They truly went above & beyond and I can’t thank them enough. Everything was PERFECT! I highly recommend Breathless Cancun Soul for your destination wedding or vowel renewal ceremony. You will not be disappointed. We are still on cloud 9 and miss Mitzy & Daryl so much. They will forever be in our hearts and we’re looking forward to seeing them again next year when we return for our anniversary.
Also want to shoutout Blanca the wedding officiant. Jonathan & Edgar for photography & videography during our ceremony.
Eduardo, Robinson & Dulce in the Xhale Lounge. Sergio-Xhale rooftop. David at the Spumante Restaurant. The chef Gloria at Spumante and the manager, Xenia. The food was so yummy at Spumante. We ate there twice because we loved it so much. Also Francisco at Spoon was amazing and remembered our names. Also thank you to concierge staff that allowed my husband to charge his phone because he left his charger at home.
The facial & massage at the Relax Spa was phenomenal.
Thank you all so much for your kindness and making our wedding-moon so special!!

Breathless is the only resort of Hyatt that has completely liked us.

Very fun resort. Excellent entertainment staff especially Andy, David, Fabian, Alex, and Josue. Mercedes and Alex great for poolside drinks. Definite party vibe but not spring-breakish! Rooms are clean and comfortable and all have amazing views. Would definitely recommend

Married couple, mid 50's, from Canada, just came back from 2 weeks at Breathless Soul Cancun for our Anniversary. Mostly good reviews, but there were a couple small con's we will share. We did not upgrade to Exhale.
This is a newer resort, so the ROOMS were very nice and clean. Comfortable bed and pillows. Had a great variety of English TV channels. Cleaning staff were good, never had issues of low supply of anything. Shower is a glass room, so viewable, but you can put down a sliding curtain if you are not a couple. Lots of road noise due to close proximity of main road. Other resorts around area would be the same.
FOOD was delicious at all the restaurants and buffets. Lots of selection!! Service was always quick. Too many names to mention, but all the servers and door staff were fantastic. We were impressed with the Mexican restaurant, as the food there wasn't over spicy. A must try! Ordered the Lobster one night at Fish Nets for an extra charge ($56us), it was delicious and very large! Well worth the money, plus got to enjoy a bottle of Moscato wine included with it! Fish Nets is their steakhouse, we went there the most, as the steaks were delicious!
DRINKS were always well made and there was a nice variety of spirits to choose from, including real Kahlua. Our favorite bartender was BARRIOS, he was the only one we found that could make a perfect "Paralyzer", among other drinks too. Breathless should promote BARRIOS to Bar Manager for sure! Then he could train all the others in the secret ways of bartending .
The main POOL by the ocean was exceptionally clean and nicely heated. Very enjoyable. The entertainment staff was fun and there were lots of activities to join. Our favorite activity gal was ANDY, she was so nice and always came over to visit us. ANDY planned a secret romantic champagne night for our Anniversary, very thoughtful of her to do! Our favorite pool/beach concierge was JOSUE, he always came around to check on us and see if we needed anything. Both ANDY and JOSUE made us feel extra special. We did not go to the included roof top pool as it felt like too much of a party scene for us, playing music we don't enjoy. More Rap style music, and being spring break, it was quite busy up there. *Which we didn't think the resort allowed spring breakers, but found out they do*. The main pool had a better music mix and was still full of fun activities from time to time.
The BEACH was soft sand and the seaweed was very minimal. It was cleaned up daily. The water is shallow there, but there are a couple places that were deeper you could cool off in. No good snorkeling there. The beach was how others reviewed, being small, lots of tour boats out front and people walking past you to get on the boats. It is a public beach, so lots of families set up on the beach in front of you. We booked an 'Adults Only' resort, but shared the beach/water with lots of kids, so that could be considered a con. Not the end of the world, but would have preferred more of a 'private beach' resort setting. Beach service was great, they always came around. SUSANA was our favorite beach server, she was very attentive and friendly.
ENTERTAINMENT - We really enjoyed the live singers in the lobby bar nightly! Great music and had fun dancing. SYLVIA was our favorite lounge server. There was outside nightly entertainment that we enjoyed sometimes too, however after a short show, it became a dance party with music we do not enjoy. Again Rap style, with lots of swear words in the lyrics. Fun for others there, but just not our thing.
CONS = 'Check-in' is always your first impression, they wanted to "upgrade" us to a higher floor for more money, "so we weren't looking at a wall outside our balcony". We said no a few times, then they ended up giving us that same higher floor room anyway (it also had the same wall, so it really didn't matter). The term "you will really help me out" was used if we did. So obviously it's a Management incentive to their workers. Went up to our room and the door already had our "Happy Anniversary" sign it, so we felt that was going to be our room the whole time. Other people we met had the same experience of asking for more money for a higher floor (not an upgraded room, just the floor). This is not a cheap resort to go to, so we had a bad first impression of them asking for more money. Seemed like a bit of a scam to us.
The only other Con during our stay was the front desk concierges. Trying to make this short, - we asked 2 different concierges repeatedly to confirm how we could spend a credit we received for something we booked, and when we got the bill at the end of the stay, it was not honored. We went to the management and explained, so they asked the concierges, but their stories had changed from what they repeatedly told us earlier. A "misunderstanding on our part" we were told. So we ended up having to pay more money for what we were not expecting. That was not a good ending to our trip. It was upsetting, it was the principle of it. In future, we will ask to get it "in writing" if we are promised something different. On the Managers behalf, he did try to offer us something else like a spa swim (not our credit though!), but we were leaving, so we didn't have the time. It didn’t make sense to us.
Yes, we would recommend this resort as it was very nice, but for us, we would not go back. We have stayed at a couple 'Secrets' resorts before with less public beaches and a more couple style vibe. We would look at those instead.
