Came to Atlantis to celebrate my wife’s 60th birthday The reservation were made through Atlantis reservation call center. We were told we would get wine and food Festival passes well apparently we don’t get a festival passes for the wine and food festival. They were additional charges even though when making the reservations, I discussed this thoroughly with Karen the reservation person. I cannot tell you how disappointed we are with this outcome some of the events that we would like to go to our now sold out. We contacted management and no one has even the decency to get back to us. I reached out to Karen. She hung up on me. We’ve emailed Managment no response at all went to the front desk they have no idea of what’s going on. Went to food and wine booth they said lots of issues with the booking. We booked a king room Waterview upon arriving They have none available, even though we booked I mean reservations month in advance once again very disappointing.i guess I’m most disappointed that no one really cares.

My husband and I bought a day pass for Atlantis when visiting Nassau on a cruise ship today. Our initial impression was not promising due to the exceptionally unhelpful girl on the reception desk. When asking us where we were staying, we advised her that we were on the cruise ship Queen Victoria to which she replied dismissively ‘well I’ve never HEARD of that one’, (to which I felt like replying ‘well that sounds like a YOU problem!’) We then asked if she had a map of the resort to which she replied ‘No’. She then gave us hopelessly inaccurate directions to the aquarium which led to us getting totally lost before another member of staff rescued us and walked us all the way to the start of the aquarium. Cons The resort is HUGE - think theme park huge. Without a map you waste a huge amount of time and energy trying to get your bearings. We finally discovered (by asking someone else) that there is a map online, but it is very difficult to navigate the park whilst squinting at a tiny map on your phone. Signage is TERRIBLE. We took so many wrong turns and again wasted so much time. Everywhere you go there is thumping loud music. We didn’t find anywhere where we could sit quietly and relax (although to be fair we didn’t see everything because we just didn’t have time). Food outlets are mediocre at best (although actually many were closed), and trying to find one that did gluten free food was virtually impossible. Staff seemed disinterested in my dietary restrictions - at one outlet the girl stared at me cluelessly and told me she’d never heard of gluten free! The whole place was overrun by American teenagers. Of course this is great if you’re an American teenager, but maybe not your scene if you’re a middle aged English couple! The beating heart of the place appears to be the vast casino. Again totally not our scene. Pros The aquarium and outdoor marine life habitats are absolutely outstanding. I’ve never visited anything like it. It’s somewhere I wish I had brought my kids when they were small because they would have loved it. All the little children we encountered during our visit were all obviously blown away by the sharks, stingrays, swordfish and countless other marine wildlife they were seeing. It is without doubt the best aquarium I have ever been to. The extensive grounds and marine habitats are immaculately kept. We didn’t use any of the aqua venture facilities but they looked fun and in good condition. All in all, I’m glad we visited Atlantis, but we effectively paid $400 to visit an aquarium with a water park attached. I did enquire about the dolphin encounter but when I discovered it was $275 per person, we decided it was just not worth it. So I’m glad we came, but would I return for a holiday? Absolutely not.

What an experience! I booked the Atlantis (Royal Hotel) on a free trip earned through credit card points hacking. After this trip, I enjoyed myself so much that I would pay for it with cash! Rooms: We had an oceanview dual queen room on the 17th floor with an incredible view of the ocean and the resort grounds. The beds were comfy, room was large, with a desk and dresser, end-of-bed bench, nightstands, a large closet with a safe, and a good size washroom with a separate toilet area, which was great with 2 couples sharing our room. We had a small decorative balcony, but it allowed us to leave the door open, listen to the ocean and dry our swimsuits. Food: This was the only critique I have about our experience... the food was okay, but not as good as I was expecting. It was expecting, but large portions. We all agreed that we didn't have any bad food experiences at the resort, but we also agreed that the best food we had was off-resort and driving home after we flew back to Canada. Resort: There is so much to do for anyone based off their interests. We enjoyed walking around the resort grounds and people watching, but we spent lots of time at the waterpark, trying the variety of eating options, fitness centre, swimming pools, beaches, the movie theatre, shopping, looking at the yachts, and lots of other stuff! Aquaventure Waterpark: Way more fun than I ever thought it would be honestly. There is a good variety for people who want to chill in a hammock or beach chair, take a trip or two or three or more in the "lazy" river, ride some awesome waterslides, or walk around to see the attractions and wildlife. You'll probably think. you've covered it all, but there's most likely more to explore! Nassau: We felt safe walking around the resort at all times of day, travelling to/from the airport, and during our day in downtown Nassau. We had a visit to the port + downtown area for some shopping and to eat lunch with some friends in on a cruise, so I would encourage adding a trip off-resort (not on an excursion) to experience this! We will be back!

Great resort. Plenty to do right on site. Be prepared to spend money for meals. Extremely expensive. The biggest negative is the attitude of the servers in most of all the restaurants we ate at. Casino servers and sports betting area hardly saw one smile on any of them the 5 days we were there. In the sports casino area, they would not change the big TVs for the events that everyone wanted to watch. Happened at least 5 times while we were there. The answer was always no, we can’t do that. Almost all had some sort of attitude and acted like they were doing us a favor. Front desk people as well. We had a few issues because we were there for the food and wine festival and the right hand had no idea what the left hand was doing. Tons and tons of operational issues at the facility. I will say the shuttle drivers, cleaning staff and the front entrance staff were great. We gave this place 4 stars only because of the attitude. If they ever figure out the attitude issues, this could be the best place on the island. This reflection is not just mine, but all 4 of us traveling together and a few folks we met there.
