Francisco is great! Had the best time at the rooftop pool with the DJ and my fiance and I actually decided to become members.
We love that you can jump between the 3 hotels and have a different experience at both. The food is very good as well. 10/10

We checked in at 3:30 - check in was simple and our room was ready.
Food in all three restaurants was excellent, portions great. Service was always 5*.
Notable service from Wilberth, Luis, Rigoberto (breakfasts), Ivan (breakfasts), Paul (rooftop), Alejandro (rooftop) and Freddie (rooftop).
Breakfast buffet options were plentiful and offered enough variety. Nice fresh fruits, yogurts, cereal, breads, pastries, and an egg / omelet station.
Asian & Italian restaurants occupy the same space, and alternate nights. Italian 4 nights per week, Asian 3 nights per week.
Lobby bar was a cool place to hang out for drinks, usually served by Miguel. He did a great job and remembered our drink preferences. Would be nice to have a little music here, but we understand it may not be possible given this bar is in the small lobby where people are coming & going.
Rooftop pool was full sun, and had a "Miami" vibe. Seemed to be popular for people paying for a day-pass. Some days there were more day-pass people than guests from the hotel. We had read reviews that said the music was VERY loud, but we did not find it was too loud. Not many lounge chairs by the pool. And all the canopy beds are reserved for those willing to pay US$50+ to have one. We saw alot of early-bird chair reserving (often with no or little personal items) and then sometimes the people only showed up hours later. We are early risers, so we always got chairs in the deck area away from the pool. But anyone coming up after 8:30-9:00 may not find a lounge chair.
Rooftop bar was another option for evening drinks, but there wasn't anything going on up there. There never seemed to be guests there. It would have been great if they could have lively music or entertainment playing. Might offer a fun place to hang out instead of guests leaving the hotel for bars on 5th avenue.
We were happy to have a room on the quiet side of the building, but our balcony did not have much room, no chairs, and a horrible view. We did not spend any time out there!
Location of the hotel is ideal. Steps from 5th avenue, and a couple of minutes to walk to the beach access. Only negative is that the Reef 28 does not have a designated beach area. You must bring your own chair, sit on the sand, or you can pay to have access to one of the sister resorts (Reef Coco Beach on 48th or Reef Playacar). We did not do this, but will certainly do so next visit!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and are already talking about when we will go back!

Our final day of our wonderful trip. With all the great people we have had the pleasure of having serve us, Freddy was one of the best. We decided to spend our last date at the roof top pool deck. He was extremely attentive. He made sure we had a steady supply of drinks and snacks so we had want of nothing. Great guy. Great place

We were super impressed with the value for money at this hotel and it delivered the lively atmosphere we were looking for. We purchased the elite package so that we could attend the restaurants and bars/beaches at the sister hotels and it was well worth it. But our very favourite, and reason for selecting this hotel was for the rooftop day club atmosphere! We really enjoyed the resident DJ Juan and all of our needs were tended to by Jesus, Francisco and Alejandro, who were friendly and funny and made us feel so welcome. We will absolutely be back!

I had the pleasure of being served by Fransisco during my visit to The Reef 28 roof top, and I couldn’t be more impressed. From the moment we were seated, they were attentive, friendly, and incredibly professional. They made great recommendations, ensured our drinks were always topped up, and checked in just the right amount without being intrusive.
What really stood out was their warm personality and genuine enthusiasm for making our dining experience exceptional. It’s rare to find someone who goes above and beyond with such ease and sincerity. If you’re dining here, I highly recommend asking for Fransisco —you won’t be disappointed!
Thank you for making our meal so enjoyable. We’ll definitely be back!

Reef 28 is a great value in a perfect location. My girlfriend “K” and I stayed at the Reef 28 for five nights last week. K is 65 and I am 72. We made our reservations by calling the hotel directly. When you book directly with the hotel you get some added benefits. We booked transportation to and from the airport via the hotel. We had no issues, our driver was waiting for us when we arrived in Cancun. Reef 28 is a large modern hotel. Our room was large and super clean. K and I elected to participate in the all inclusive meal plan, I think we were in the minority. Breakfast was excellent. There is no food buffet for lunch or dinner. Reservations are required for dinner. K and I thought the menu’s were limited, (mostly chicken and pork). We did travel to the other two Reef properties. Coco Beach is an easy (and safe) walk from Reef 28 (about 8 blocks). The resort charges $15 per day, per person if you travel to a sister resort and eat and drink. This fee bothered me, we had paid for all inclusive, obviously if I am eating lunch at Coco Beach I am not eating at the Reef 28. Shuttle service is provided between the resorts. If you want to ride the shuttle you need to stop at the front desk and sign up for whatever shuttle you want. K and I traveled to the Reef Playa Carma, this resort feel’s more like a traditional “all-inclusive”. The beach was incredible. I thought the available liquor at all three resorts was limited. The Reef menu advertises Crown Royal, none of the resorts had Crown Royal. All bars at the Reef 28 close at 11:00. There is no room service. After being offered several incentives K and I agreed to sit through a “sales pitch” to learn about the “vacation club.” The “vacation club” was a thinly veiled “Ponzi scheme”. I asked for the opportunity to sit by the pool and read the contract, I was told it was against policy to leave the sales office with a copy of the contract. We did receive a “romantic beach dinner” and massages for listening to the sales pitch. K and I had our dinner on Coco beach, it was excellent. We also received two massages, these were the best massages either of us have experienced. The staff at the Reef28 makes it special. Christian, at the front desk remembered K and my names and greeted us every time we walked through the lobby. Elizabeth (Eily) was our concierge, she was wonderful and kind. When we were leaving to come home, Eli hugged both K and I, thanked us for coming and invited us to return. Paul, a rooftop bartender was welcoming and kind, he is a wonderful ambassador for Reef28. K and I are thinking of returning in Nov. we would stay at the Reef Playa de Carma.
