Do not hesitate to book this absolute gem of a resort. My husband and I stayed in the Coconut Palm South "home" and it was spotless and beautifully decorated.
The use of bicycles, kayaks, fishing poles etc, are all included. The pool, the dock, and view of the endless Atlantic Ocean add to the feeling you are not at a resort, but on your own island oasis. It is a small resort, and you can mingle with the other guests as much or as little as you desire.
Keep in mind there is no onsite restaurant, and some "homes" are designed side by side, where you share veranda space with other guest or guests. If you are lucky, like we were, they are friendly but not invasive if you seek privacy.
We have stayed in 2 other properties in Islamorada, and all were wonderful but you will pay for it. No different at this property. The Florida Keys are expensive and there is no way around that. For a special stay, save up and treat yourself to this gem.
Note: When we stayed in April, there was construction going on around this area, so you may have some early AM noise.

Unfortunately, the resort used to be more peaceful and laid back, but it seems that now a lot of large groups rent the units and take over the resort areas, especially the pool. It got to the point where we didn't even go to the pool because one group of teenagers had overtaken it. They were loud and extremely inconsiderate to the other guests. It was concerning to the many of the families there. I guess the atmosphere of the resort has changed, unfortunately.

A gated island retreat offering private cottages with ocean views. We loved the layout of our one bedroom villa and the grounds are exquisite. There’s a beautifully appointed pool which was very secluded. We were looking for a quiet getaway, but the hammering and construction from the immediate two neighboring properties started at 7 am. The sound of the beeping backhoe and other construction sounds continued throughout our entire trip. We did enjoy some peaceful stargazing, but if we had been planning to stay on property all day, this place would have been a deal breaker. The pillows are hard, so bring your own, and wait until the construction is complete.

This resort is new, clean and very nice. The suites are suitable for a long stay as the kitchens are full size and stocked nicely (except for salt/pepper). They have different sizes of rentals with different looks, something different and a nice touch. They have a beautiful, lush pool area (although no privacy if you want to sit alone) and a very nice dock to fish off of with a Tiki hut by the dock if you’d rather sit in the shade (but you have to move a lounger under it) They have outdoor grills, fishing poles, paddle boards, kayaks and bikes available at no cost which is fantastic for a family or if you’re staying a while. They will even let you dock a boat there if you’re staying there. It’s off the beaten path and faces East so don’t expect to see the sunset from there. When I made the reservation I stated that I wanted privacy because I was recovering from surgery. They gave us a suite that faced the driveway, NO privacy, we watched all the workers and patrons walking by our porch every morning :( We asked if we could have the suite in the same unit that had some privacy and they said no, even though it wasn’t rented 😒, a HUGE disappointment!!! The patio/dock chairs are set up so there are no variations- if you wanted to sit by the pool in a lounger and someone else in a chair, it wasn’t possible unless you moved furniture. I asked the office to put a lounger in a more secluded area in the pool area the day before we left and it wasn’t done in the morning (10:30), so I went to sit in the Tiki hut on the dock (after my husband moved a lounger there) which was fine because there was a nice breeze. After lunch the lounger in the pool area was moved, but it was too hot to sit out by then so I didn’t use it, which was ok because the no see ums were biting like crazy by the pool. 😕 They gave us a gift bag for $20 off for one of two restaurants and $15 off at a Ocean Gardens gift shop. All in all it was a nice stay and I would go there again, hopefully getting a more private suite! It would be nice if the seating arrangements were more versatile though.

The Caribbean Resort is an amazing property like no other on the Atlantic Ocean in the Florida Keys. The Harbour house that we were fortunate to stay in was very well decorated with attention to details. The house had all of the amenities that you could want including a beautiful kitchen, lovely bathrooms and bedrooms and a large living and dining area. The patio outside of the house was large with a lot of seating areas. The view from the docks was extremely relaxing overlooking Alligator Reef Lighthouse in the distance and miles of open ocean. There is a long fishing pier and dock area with a oversized Tiki hut and lounging chairs. The resort has paddle boards, bikes, kayaks, fishing poles and gas grills for your use. There is also a boat ramp and dock for your boat should you decide to bring one. The pool area was amazing with a beach-entry walk-in and was very large with beautiful landscaping surrounding it. The pool was surrounded with tiki huts to sit under and enjoy a meal and ample chase loungers for relaxing. The owners and the staff ( Natalie, Kristin and Magda) were very gracious and accommodating and were sincerely interested in making sure our stay was exceptional. This is the perfect place for a wedding. We highly recommend this resort on your next trip to the Florida Keys. Don't forget to stop by Ocean Gardens on your way down. You will be truly amazed at the exotic shells, nautical wares, gifts and one of a kind marine antiques.
