A wonderful week at Secrets- overall it was a very positive experience. Great food especially Oceania and Windows. Great service- the staff are all very helpful and friendly. The beach was gorgeous and we enjoyed swimming in the warm, turquoise ocean. A highlight was the romantic dinner on the pier and snorkeling on the reefs. Go to El Cielo beach- gorgeous. Cons- it’s a tired resort. Needs updating. We had an ocean view suite and the bedroom was in a separate room that was barely lit. Very dark. There is a terrible smell of mold or mildew in the bedrooms and elevator that is off putting. I would probably wait until they renovate to go back but I would definitely go to Dream's which is their sister property next door. Also loved the hydrotherapy at the spa- worth the price.

Newly renovated was over exaggerated. Luz, Vicky, Omar, Arbey, Miguel and Bruno were very friendly, gracious, knowledgeable and helpful staff members on our stay. Beach and Sea was gorgeous. Pools extremely cold. Amstar recommended excursions were great.

The resort was nice but some rooms needed updating. We were moved from a swim-up room to a beachfront and it was amazing. The first room was OK but not great. Some of the employees were wonderful—Elizabeth a new concierge was great as was Edwardo the manager. Kenia, host at Market-Cafe, remembered our name and room number, and Rosana and Ricardo…they made it so nice and personable. Some of the employees did not have the same hospitable spirit. We had a hard time with reaching the office ahead of time and the phone systems didn’t work in our room. The food was average—the French restaurant was by far the best and the soups everywhere were great. Snorkeling was really good and you could use snorkels there at no cost for 40 minutes. We had planned on diving but had colds so couldn't but it would have been perfect. I wish they had given instructions on getting there from Cancun—a shuttle ahead of time would have been best because the taxi drivers are not honest and overcharged and said the busses weren't working when they were. The ferry is easy and getting back was much cheaper via taxi than getting to the ferry from the airport—schedule transfers ahead of time. The resort felt very safe. Take water shoes—beach great but some rocks in areas (good for snorkeling).

As far as the resort, they are not great at communicating what’s going on for entertainment each night or which restaurants were available. Based on the app and their website, it appeared there are more restaurants and options than there actually is. They close a lot of them throughout the week or just change menus.

Great trip, loved all the staff at the market cafe. Rosanna, Kenia always knew are name, our waiters Mario Gaspar Elizabeth, Alberto s. And Ricardo Vasquez were excellent. The food by Chefs Geidy, Ricardo and Jose Chan was tasty. All the staff was very friendly, they went out of their way to make it an excellent experience. Beach side service by Jairo was also excellent. Ambar in concierge was great from beginning to end.

Great experience—Jairo was great and always checked to make sure we had everything we needed at the beach. Kenia at the market cafe always remembered our name—very impressed. Ambar was super helpful at check in. Love the pier pickup for scuba diving. Loved being able to eat at the Sunscape Sabor restaurants for variety!

The food was not good, they tried poorly to Americanize it like others have said, we were preferred club but couldn’t get a room upgrade and our room had quite a few issues but they wanted us to pay several hundred more to upgrade. The best part of the resort...

The food was not good, they tried poorly to Americanize it like others have said, we were preferred club but couldn’t get a room upgrade and our room had quite a few issues but they wanted us to pay several hundred more to upgrade. The best part of the resort was Arby and the activities crew, they were so fun and interactive and the best part of the trip by far. We rented a jeep to see other parts of the island and I would definitely recommend that as well!

We enjoyed our stay at Secrets Aura cozumel. Little issues like lack of hot water or a bar fridge that doesn't work or quickly taken care of. The service was incredible especially the team at Market Cafe: Kenia and Rosana always saw that we were seated comfortably, our servers were all wonderful at risk of forgetting anyone: Thank you to Mario, Albertos, Gaspar, Gaspar, Ricardo and Elizabeth! The team at dive house were great thank you David for answering all my questions!
