Riu Palace Cabo San Lucas

This is our 3rd time staying at the RIU Palace in Cabo San Lucas. We find everyone there kind and helpful. At check in, we were immediately asked to move to a different desk so as not to wait in line. We were a little earlier than the 3:00 check in time, however our room was ready and we were given the keys. An attendance delivered our luggage directly to our room. Our room was clean. Housekeeping came daily to clean, make, the bid, & refresh towels. They even made a special trip to bring extra pillows our first night. We also forgot to lock our safe one day, so the housekeeper locked it for us to make sure our valuables were safe and left instructions on how to get it opened. When I called the front desk, they sent assistance immediately, I think she was in our room within 5 minutes of my phone call. We have always been very happy with the food at the RIU Palace. I wouldn’t say it’s equal to a 5-star restaurant, but the food is good. The buffets (breakfast, lunch, & dinner, have a variety of different options & there are always stations cooking ready to order food…omelets, tacos, quesadillas, steak. We tried to sit in the same sections for breakfast and dinner, and our waiters (Irma for breakfast & Daniel for dinner) remembered us. They knew what we wanted to drink and had it ready for us at the table when we returned from the buffet line. Excellent service from both of them! The specialty restaurants also all have delicious food options. There is less choice with these, as they are nota buffet, but rather sit down and order how of service. Also get there right when they open at 6, or expect tot wait an hour or more for a table. The entertainment was mediocre. We have stayed at this hotel 3 times, and the other two the entertainment was much better. The Crazy Show & The Mexican Show were both pretty good, but the circus show was just ok. A little bit like a small town or high school talent show. We miss the Micheal Jackson show! I received the specialty 80 minute massage at the spa. All of the attendants were very accommodating. My therapist seemed very knowledgeable about her practice. She checked in with me through to make sure I was doing ok and liked the pressure. She used a variety of techniques throughout the massage. I get regular massages back at home and I can honestly say this was probably the best massage of my life. The pools were fun and clean. Good music was playing. The waiters & bar staff were fast serving drinks. Security was watching closely and didn’t hesitate to kick someone out if they were doing g something rude/obnoxious, or was not over 18. Overall a fantastic vacation!

We had so much fun at our 2nd stay at the RIU Palace CSL. Both stays were in July and the weather was perfect. So impressed with the cleanliness of hotel in common areas and restaurants. The food and drink quality impressive as well especially the Italian and Mexican restaurants. All the employees were very attentive and friendly but our favorites were Pedro from Chiapis at pool bar and Martin as pool waiter. We will return for 3rd visit next year.

We vacationed at RIU Palace with our three grown daughters and son in law. It was a wonderful and relaxing vacation. We had three rooms with two of them connecting. The rooms were updated and extremely clean. The beds were so comfortable. The room was cleaned daily. The hotel was very clean and the staff were so friendly. The pool was amazing with an endless edge where you could relax and look out over the beach to the ocean. They had fun pool games every afternoon. The food was so good. We enjoyed the steakhouse, the Japanese restaurant, and the Mexican restaurant. We liked that you did not have to make reservations. We showed up right when they opened and had no problem getting a table. We enjoyed relaxing on the beach in hotel provided loungers and under the palm trees. The beach was beautiful with the mountains and the arch right in front of you. The waves were rough and you need to be extremely careful. There is no wading on the beach or in the water close to the beach. You need to get past the breaking waves to enjoy relaxing in the ocean. There is a lifeguard on the beach. There were only three days of our weeklong vacation that we were allowed to get in the water. The other days the waves were too dangerous. The hotel provided nightly shows. We enjoyed the circus show and the Mexican show. We also enjoyed watching Mexico play in the World Cup on night and then USA play in the World Cup another night. Such a fun experience on the big screen. We took a water taxi out to the arch, Lover’s beach, Divorce beach, and Pelican Rock. We also snorkled while we were out there. So beautiful!!! We also hiked up Mount Solmar with Enrique and his dogs. You can see all of Cabo San Lucas while on top of Mt. Solmar. What an incredible experience! If you are going to Cabo San Lucas, you must stay at RIU Palace. We have stayed in several all inclusive and this one was by far the best!!

Great resort amazing staff and service. Resort is starting to show its age but it was beautifully maintained. Because it’s a Riu Palace there was easy access to Riu Santa Fe and Riu California. Nightly entertainment was not up to par for this calibre of resort so you’re forced to walk to the adjacent resorts for partying. Dining in the buffet was great with an amazing selection of food. The themed restaurants really need to up their game. Steak house was not worth the wait meat was not cooked right took way too long and the sides were not appealing. The accompanying apple pie dessert was an undercooked apple muffin. Beach was fine for sandwiches but you cannot go in the water waves are too high and very dangerous. You cannot walk about 15 to 20 mins to the flatter beach. We didn’t get a chance to but it’s a quick 8 minute Uber to Los Cabos shops. All in all it was a fun week just some Minor tweaks and this would have been an exceptional week. My opinion does not take away from the beauty of the area the overall experience and the great time we had.
