This was a beautiful and well maintained hotel. We did the all-inclusive plan, although there were a number of restaurants within easy walking distance. The room was very spacious. The pools were pristine. The beach, although next to public beaches still felt exclusive. The sand was soft and the water was clear with almost no seaweed. The restaurants were fairly typical of all-inclusives. However, the Chinese restaurant was very good and they do a Brazilian night twice a week that is very good. The island itself is vibrant with lots of shops, restaurants, and scenic views.

This is our third trip to Privilege Aluxes. We can say enough about the amazing staff! All of the restaurant staff, beach staff, spa attendants and therapists are wonderful. This is our third trip to Privilege Aluxes. We can say enough about the amazing staff! All of the restaurant staff, beach staff, spa attendants and therapists are wonderful. They are kind, attentive and go out of their way to make your stay memorable. Specifically, Dani, Antonio, Eduardo, Matu, and Jorge at the beach club. I would rate this resort as a strong 4 Star. The beach is unforgettable! You don’t have to right for a chair. The beach club food is top notch, whether ordering from your beach chair or sitting at a table. The pool bar is a lot of fun in the afternoon to meet people. The bar staff is excellent and the drinks are perfect! We went to Satay one night. I would say they could improve on their sushi and service is slow. The Rodizio and Mexican nights are wonderful and fun. Food was excellent at both of those events. Sabor staff and food was very good as well. We like Privilege because it’s “easy”. I would classify it as almost a boutique hotel, not a 400+ convention type hotel. If you’re looking for foam parties, big entertainment at the hotel, this isn’t for you. Hidalgo street is about 100 yards from the hotel and a great place to go for off sight food and drinks. The island is small, safe and beautiful to watch the sun both rise and set. We also went fishing with Contoy Isla Adventures and had a great time with Roberto. Caught barracuda and then took it to Miramar where they cooked it up for us three different ways. So good!

My girlfriend and I just got back from our fourth trip to PA. We had a great time as always. We really like the private beach area that this resort offers. It is right around the corner from North Beach, which is beautiful but very crowded compared to PA. We always do the all-inclusive package but still go out for a few meals each trip as there are a lot of good restaurants within walking distance as PA is right in town on the north end of the island. Experienced Carnival for the first time which was amazing! Parades were close enough to watch from the beach bar area and the concerts/entertainment at the square in the evening were wonderful. At no point in our visit was there a safety concern. Everything was wonderful. Breakfast at the beach restaurant is amazing and the buffet never disappoints. The staff here is great and the resort is small enough that you get to know them well enough that there are always a few people that recognize you every time that you come back. We would like to give a shoutout to Dani, Alex, and Antonio on the beach, Ricardo and Heli in Sabor and the Beach Club for breakfast and lunch, Samuel at the pool bar, and Jorge at the Beach Club for dinner. Jorge was great for my girlfriend’s birthday. He gave her a special dessert and sang to her with another waiter. We already booked our next trip. We can’t wait to get back.

Loved it! The rooms were clean; minibar stocked daily; very helpful and friendly staff; always felt safe; excellent food (not a typical all inclusive buffet only). We stayed for 14 days and rebooked for 2026 before we left. Can’t wait to come back!

Our 6th visit to PA and the resort did not disappoint. Clean rooms, excellent food and drink and the staff treat us like family! We love Dani at the beach bar. The Satay restaurant is excellent. You can’t beat the beautiful sand beach. Can’t wait to come back!

We have stayed at the same 2 spots down the beach for 10 years, so tried something new this year with Privilege's. Positives: This is a very nice hotel with exceptional hard working kind staff. Always a smile and warm greeting in the hallways and from the front desk. The breakfast provided was excellent with choices for everyone. Sheets are clean, water is hot and beds very comfortable. Challenges: For the price, I expected more in room amenities. LOVED that you had a coffee pot!! Thank you! I always travel with my own beans. There was also a mini fridge but was filled with items for their all-inclusive service. At 400+ a night I would appreciate a small microwave and a usable refrigerator as we enjoy purchasing items at the market for use later in the day. The walls are also paper thin. Our neighbors were quite loud which made sleep hard some evenings. We will head back down the beach for half the price and a microwave.

The food was delicious all the time and eating at the beach everyday a delicious fried fish was my favorite with a cold beer. We have been in this hotel 3 times and we will come back as soon we can.

Dani was a great waiter! Friendly and fast! We definitely recommend hanging with Dani on the beach. He clearly cares for all the guests and is enjoyable to be around. Ask for an iceberg. And civeche mixto. We'll definitely come back. Hopefully we'll see you there!

Stayed here 2/12-2/18/25. The hotel itself is nice enough. The food was pretty good. Most of the staff were helpful and kind. It is in a great location. I contemplated leaving a star or two more for those reasons. However, right after we checked in, our friend's room was broken...

Stayed here 2/12-2/18/25. The hotel itself is nice enough. The food was pretty good. Most of the staff were helpful and kind. It is in a great location. I contemplated leaving a star or two more for those reasons. However, right after we checked in, our friend's room was broken into (no forced entry, used a key card) as well as their safe. The perps took all of their cash, credit cards and some of their smaller electronic belongings. Yes, bad things happen, but the worst part of it all is that the hotel acknowledged it was an employee of some sort (who had conveniently left the island right after) and still did NOTHING. They barely even would acknowledge it when it was first brought to them. The parent company offered to give our friends a small reimbursement (less than 25% of the total that was stolen and wanted them to sign something to basically let them off the hook). This happened to 4+ other rooms during the same time period that same afternoon. Police help was pretty much non-existent. The management did everything they could to brush this under the rug. Scary, disappointing and completely unacceptable. PLEASE, if you value your hard earned money and want to relax during your vacation (not to mention, not have it ruined), DO NOT STAY HERE! Tell one, tell all! They need to suffer the consequences of not taking responsibility and for their total lack of respecting and looking out for the safety of their guests.

Great resort with activities on site and around the resort. Music, food and service is exceptional. Sammy (bartender/server) is attentive and always prompt. All inclusive and bed and breakfast options are available with many dining options off site.

Only given two stars for this reason, otherwise a solid four stars

Resort and beach were beautiful and the rooms were cleaned daily. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The food at all the restaurants was very tasty! Nice to have hidalgo right down the street to check out the other restaurants, shops and live music! We will definitely be back!

Just returned from an 8 night visit, having direct booked a Grand Platinum Suite with Private Rooftop Pool to celebrate my 60th birthday. Everything was spectacular, from the free private round-trip transfer from/to the airport, checkin, the room (best views of both sunrise and sunset from rooftop terrace), the staff, the food, the spa (3 100-min couple's massages). Not a single complaint. Thanks for making our stay perfect.
