I can't say enough about this resort. We have been to several Secrets and this is by far the best. The food was outstanding and EVERYONE on the staff was amazing. It is a very laid-back atmosphere. Be warned - the portions at all the restaurants were huge. I would like to recognize several individuals: our butlers Erick and Wedinzon, Eduardo from UVC, Eduardo in the Cacao Cafe (always so nice), Ceasar our waiter, and Rebecca and Abraham (AB) from entertainment. All of them went above expectations.

Amazing service. Great place to stay hospitality was very good and a wide variety of food options. All of the bar options are good. The bartenders can make you just about anything you would like I specifically recommend shrimp or steak excellent.

Numa was delicious. Arturo, Esau, and Virgilio provided awesome service! Great experience, great friends, great service. Food was wonderful. Staff accommodated a large group effortlessly. Setting was classy and welcoming. Would recommend. 10/10!!

Phenomenal staff, accommodations, service, views, pools, bars and location. Lovely experience start to finish and our standards are high. We are very well traveled and loved this spot! It’s at such a beautiful location on the island and away from the chaos. We will be back!

We loved the Izla Hotel!! The room was beautiful, clean and comfortable. The food was great! The drinks were great and the beer was cold. The sky lounge pool was a great place to end the day with food and drinks and amazing sunset views! The main pool was clean and well tended to by staff. The beach was clean there were plenty of chairs. What really makes this place stand out is the staff. Super friendly and helpful. Everyone worked hard to make sure you were enjoying yourself. We’ll definitely be back again!

I stayed at Izla Hotel, or at least I was supposed to, but my experience with their customer service has been beyond disappointing. ⚡ Hurricane Beryl & No-Show Due to Extreme Weather I had a fully paid reservation for [insert stay dates], but due to Hurricane Beryl, I physically could not make it to the hotel. Airlines were issuing travel waivers, airports were shutting down, and most hotels in the region were offering refunds or credits due to the extreme circumstances. However, Izla Hotel refused to provide any form of accommodation, refund, or credit for future use—despite this being a natural disaster beyond anyone’s control. 💬 Customer Service: Unhelpful & Uncaring I reached out to Izla Hotel’s customer service multiple times over the last 7 months, trying to find a fair resolution. I was met with zero flexibility, lack of empathy, and a complete unwillingness to work with guests affected by the storm. Most reputable hotels have policies in place for situations like this, but Izla Hotel was unreasonably strict and unwilling to help. 🚨 Warning for Future Guests If you're considering booking here, be aware: ⚠️ No flexibility for extreme circumstances – even a natural disaster won’t change their policies. ⚠️ Poor customer service – they were dismissive and uninterested in helping. ⚠️ Risk of losing your money – if anything unexpected happens, you’re out of luck. ❌ Final Verdict: Avoid If You Value Customer Service Travel is unpredictable, and a hotel’s willingness to accommodate guests in emergencies speaks volumes about its values. Izla Hotel failed on every level. If you want a hotel that actually cares about its guests, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere. 👎 Would not book again.

So good the food and service was amazing! Arturo was great! We got the shrimp and steak tacos which was delicious, the sliced scallops and plantain empanadas for apps were so good. And the chocolate duo really was saving the best for last! We were very impressed with this place

The hotel is situated in a nice and quiet position (considering the confusion in the north of the island). The beach is nice and so is the swimming pool. However the room was so damp that it smelt awfully and our clothes got virtually wet (before getting dressed, we had to dry them with hair dryer). After the first day we only received two towels (one each) because the face and hand towels had been removed even if we put them back on the rack not asking for change. We asked at the reception, they said they would provide them, but they never did. Also the shower tended to flood the room as well.
