Iberostar Waves Paraíso del Mar

I traveled with my husband and I can say that our experience at this hotel was excellent. The facilities are comfortable and the food is varied. What stood out most was the attentiveness of the staff, both in the restaurant and at reception, who were always friendly and helpful. A special thanks to concierge Alberto at the Mar Lobby for his professionalism and support in providing us with information from the moment we arrived, which made our stay even more pleasant and comfortable. As a suggestion, they could improve the speed of service in some areas and the coordination of schedules for some activities, as there were occasional slight delays. However, these details in no way detract from the excellent service and atmosphere of the place. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it.

Traveled to Del Mar September 16 to 20. It was a short get away for myself to experience this level as a club member. We have traveled to the Paraiso complex many times over the past 9 years. We started at Beach, and have stayed multiple times at Maya and Joia(Grand). This time of year the resort felt empty. Daily rain storms helped keep everyone off the beach and out of the pool. I stayed in room 1143 which is located closer to the beach and pool. So the walk to the lobby, Star Prestige Lounge and breakfast (which is at the Beach Buffet) was about a ten minute walk. I found the room to be clean and in working order. I didn't spend much time there other than to shower and sleep. I didn't use the mini bar, but it was stocked and snacks were provided. I knew what to expect from the restaurants, some being open air and un-airconditioned. This was not a problem for me. I never had to wait for a seat, but I arrived at opening for each meal. The food was good and enough variety for me. Being there for just 4 nights meant I had limited restaurant options. I enjoyed Italian twice, Mexican and Brazilian once. My service was good at every meal and by the last night Magdiel and the other wait staff were greeting me as a remembered friend and providing my preferred wine promptly. (It does help when you tip regularly) . The main point of my visit, was to see if I could enjoy myself as we do at Joia, by making use of the members areas. Having the private pool, with swim up bar and sitting are is very nice. It was a good place to hide from the rain. And having options for private lounge and beach area gave me enough variety of places to relax even with the rain. As a perk of our double black membership, I did have massages every day on the beach and at the spa. All were good experiences of course. I like the jungle feel of the resort. Walking the paths and seeing the wildlife just makes me more relaxed. The seaweed was abundant, but the crews cleaned it up daily. Didn't bother me, except when I tried to swim. The storms really churned the water and seaweed up. This is my favorite pool. Even though I don't swim much, it is very long and provides a lot of room to explore. Even with all the humidity, I only saw one mosquito. But they have never bothered me in the past either. I am not a night owl, so I missed most of the shows. What I saw of the Circus Show was good. I also won a hat playing bingo at the theater. Our membership includes travel by World 2 Meet and my ride was quick each way. No delays form traffic. In the end, I would stay here again, but I would not do it alone. I love to have time to relax and listen to my audio books. But I really missed my Wife and friends company.

We had a wonderful family stay at Waves Paraiso del Mar with a nice welcome since we arrived and well taken care of during our stay. The room was nice, properly cleaned everyday. As for the food, it was tasty either buffet (plentiful and constantly refilled) or ‘à la carte’ - The Mexican buffer night was awesome! I would like to personally thank these awesome staffs who went above and beyond in their roles: Concierge: - Josue whom upon our arrival explained the various spots in the hotel and taking good care of us whenever he saw us - Javier for reserving the Japanese restaurant for us (Go for that Restaurant!) Restaurant: - Chef Manuel & Server Pascual: We have some food restrictions and they both took care for the meals. Outstanding Service from Pascual for advising us at each servings and Chef Manuel for the tasty meal, taking meticulous care during the preparation and finally the awesome show (don’t miss that one at the Japanese Restaurant) - Chef Octavio, we met him on our last day for buffet. I have rarely seen in a hotel where a chef meeting his guests (buffet) and inquiring about their food preference/concerns (unless you want to call them to compliment) That was a great guest experience Chef Octavio and I hope you keep doing it for your guests The Prestige club: - Eduardo who was very attentive and caring.. Thank you for the gifts, the kids love them Ambassador & Prestige Team: - Carlos and Shonny will go above and beyond to take good care of you. Thank you for helping us every time we reached out while organizing our stay and making it an awesome one :) We did encounter some service that were not up to standard and hope it improves. Ag****n from the golf cart team and In***d from the Concierge Team There was much Seaweed in the sea at this season and the hotel kept cleaning the beach everyday. Military presence constantly on the beach but there was no incident and was safe environment. The pools are great and you’ll end up spending much of your time in there If you are taking the XCaret trip, it’s a very nice experience (if you receive hotel credits you can use it towards the payment, inquire for discounts) but be careful that if you are returning early, there’ll be a rush at the end for your bus back and that bus goes through every hotel before reaching yours :( Overall, we would love to be back one day and I hope you get to enjoy a wonderful time there too for your vacation with your loved ones :)
