Casa Morada is a disappointment. They do the little things poorly (and the big things). The pool is cold and lacked umbrellas.."On order", said the staff. The pool also needs concrete maintenance. The rooms were ordinary. ALL the staff was brand new (what's going on?). Will never return.

Good area too in walking distance of bars and restaurants.
Unfortunately the two night visit is weather were two of the coldest nights in recent keys history so couldn’t take advantage of most of the facilities- obviously the hotel could do nothing about that and would like to return sometime in more normal weather!

This place is a true gem! It feels more like a home away from home than a codo in the Keys. Please don't go there, I don't want it to get too crowded. LOL.
The little details seperate Casa from the rest. In the rooms they provide flash lights, plenty of linens, umbrellas, bedside mood lighting, retro fridge, 2 large TV's, nice coffee maker, hair drier and a large shower with pleny of hot water with water pressere! I'm sure I missed a few.
The campus is perhaps the most appealing aspect of the stay. The landscape provides privacy through wandering paths of greenery and blossom littered with sitting areas, hammock, benches, etc. Very well done and just plain cool. The best part is the waterfront "island" where you can watch the sunset from the pool or bar where Samantha will whip you up a memorable island cocktail. You might try the special seltzer to enhance the evening glow.
Other tidbits: Parking is plentiful. The office can provide additional coffee, paper towels, cold beverages, whatever and a lazy cat that wanders the grounds, rent a cat, free of charge. Yes, Casa is puppy friendly with free poop station and bags. All dogs matter!
Adriana, Jackie and Samantha are there to help and are part of what makes Casa "home." All the staff are island friendly and salt of the earth good folks.
As mentioned, please do not go to Casa Morada and have a fantastic stay. It will get too crowded.

Beautiful grounds and quiet. Little island with an awesome bartender. Office staff were kind and attentive. Even when I screwed up and thought we were checking out a day later than I booked, they were incredibly understanding and luckily, accommodating. When we go back we will definitely be coming back.

This is a special place to relax, watch the sunset, enjoy a great cup of coffee while watching the sunrise.
A quiet place with beautiful views where you can find time to read, swim, reconnect with your husband/partner.
Casa Morada is centrally located to restaurants, beer gardens, bars & shops. You can bike ride to all of these places if you wish.
In the morning the complimentary continental breakfast is ready for 7:00
It’s located on the second floor of building overlooking the boats& water. You can also just take your favorite’s to enjoy by the water or your room.
There are always lounge chairs available by pool or by bay side.
Everyone was very polite & courteous including the reception staff, room service & breakfast service.
We stayed in the Manatee suite which had a great seating area outside, extremely comfortable bed, sheets, pillows. The bathroom was a nice size & included a bath & shower.
It had a small refrigerator & the only draw back was not having a microwave to warm up leftovers. Other than that everything in that suite including the views were amazing.
This is our 4th visit to Islamorada in the past year & half ~ we have found our little piece of paradise
Casa Morada has been our favorite place! Hope to come back soon

Pool, hammocks, and boat house with beverages. The kayaking around this property is amazing! We enjoyed paddling by Lorelei's, down a mangrove forest, and all along the way, enjoyed fish, coastal birds and manatee. We floated above the manatees, and they just swam around us, seeming to curious about us. We took the property bikes for a ride all around Upper Matecumbe key, so much fun. We were able to walk to breweries, restaurants and library park. I was able to completely relax in their garden section with waterfall and zen garden. Their is a tiki with games to play. This was the perfect get a way for my husband and I for our Anniversary. Casa Morada gave us a complimentary toast for our special day!

We have now stayed twice at this boutique hotel. Our first visit had us staying in the garden view Jungle Suite which has a spacious private outdoor deck, great views and separate indoor jacuzzi tub. This time we chose the sea view Starfish Suite, with amazing views and an open concept bedroom off of the living area. This entire resort is very private, tranquil and is managed by pleasant staff. They have a beautiful island pool, and self service outdoor poolside bar. Both times we participated in a free garden yoga class offered on property.
This property is ideally located in walking distance to a few waterside restaurants and bars, a quick car ride to some upscale restaurants, and a nice bike ride (provided complimentary) to anywhere on the island.
Both times we stayed at Casa Morada, we met friendly couples who engaged in pleasant conversation around the pool and boathouse bar, but respected your privacy.
Breakfast is self serve complimentary on a second level patio by the water.
The hotel offers in-room massage service, but we recommend you walk across the street and visit Blue Bamboo Salon and Day Spa for a special treat.

We stayed there for a quick 2 day getaway and it was a good choice. I would describe Casa Morada as a small boutique resort. The best part is the waterfront area with a beautiful pool with plenty of lounge furniture and covered places to relax out of the sun as well.. Our room was nice and comfortable, but the bathroom was very tiny. The property has some nice lush landscaping. Kayaks, bicycles, and other amenities are available for guests. It is located in a quiet area, mainly residential.
We found it to be a good, laid back choice for a short vacation.

We had a most relaxing stay at the gorgeous Casa Morada. The place is a little oasis with beautiful gardens and a fantastic bathing area with views across the bay. Our suite was spacious, extremely comfortable and spotlessly clean. The whole vibe was chilled and the staff most welcoming. The recently appointed manager, Sam, is a darling and we appreciated her very helpful tips and humour (missing your special "chardonnay" Sam). Nothing was too much trouble and we're sure the Casa will go from strength to strength under her management. All in all a fantastic time and we were very sad to leave.

We chose Casa Morada on a bit of a last minute whim while planning a trip to Key West. We were looking for a place in the Upper/Middle Keys to spend a few nights before going into Key West. We found Casa Morada on a Google search and could not believe how lovely the photos looked. We decided to give it a try, assuming, as is usually the case, that photos are better than the real thing. Reality could not have been further from the truth! Photos do not do Casa Morada justice! It is truly one of the loveliest places we have ever stayed and now we can’t wait to go back. We were at Casa Morada for 4 glorious nights! Not only are the grounds heavenly, the room is super comfortable with lots of thoughtful amenities which I will list below if you are interested!
In summary: if you want an incredibly comfortable, healing, rejuvenating, quiet, private, zen and peaceful stay (also pet friendly!) surrounded by lush nature…..this is your place.
If you want a party place or place with lots of amenities for kids, this is not the place for you.
1. The beds are super comfortable with high end linens, lots of pillows, and a bedside table device for red light therapy for those who have issues sleeping (which I have had recently. I am thinking of getting one of these!), and phone charging outlets in the bedside tables. I slept better here than I have in months!
2. The shower was soothing (we stayed in the Moon Garden Jacuzzi suite.) The shower was made of pebbles, which was neat. It had a “seat” built in. It had a rain shower head and another shower head which was detachable. There was plenty of pressure and hot water! And the shower head was high so can comfortably accommodate very tall people ( I am tall, so this matters to me!) The bathroom was positioned between the bedroom and sitting room and had a “window” that made the shower and toilet area visible from either room! I found this unusual at first….but there were shades, of course, that could be drawn for complete privacy while still letting in lots of natural light! If you want to shower and still see the glorious lush gardens out the window, you could open the shade because it was completely private. And, like I said, this allowed lots of natural light into the bathroom, which is usually not the case in hotels. What I found unusual in these windows initially, I grew to find genius!
3. Daily housekeeping! It is almost as if the housekeeping was magically done! We rarely saw the housekeeping staff, but our room was always immaculately clean! We would go to breakfast or walk to the water, come back and the room was clean!
4. Some reviews state that the facility is “dated”. I did not find this to be the case at all. The building is mid-century (which we love) with glorious pierced brick and zen landscaping. The facility is beautifully restored, so I am not sure what reviews mean by “dated”.
5. Our room had a screened and private balcony which was lovely. On the balcony was a jacuzzi tub! I am not a personal fan of jacuzzi tubs as I feel they take too much water and are the jets ever really clean? Also, the water only got lukewarm, which was fine as it was an outdoor tub and it was warm outside! I did find it glorious to sit on the side of the tub with a glass of wine and enough water for a soothing foot soak!
6. There were lots of nice amenities in the room: a fridge, coffee/tea/hot water maker with lots of nice selections (Starbucks!) , fridge stocked with Pellegrino water and some other nice selections (I am sure at a room charge, but not certain), wine glasses, beer glasses, nice coffee mugs, nice tea cups, a broom and dust pan for tracked in sand, yoga mats, bathrobes, binoculars, a sleep therapy light, flashlight, a small selection of books, probably other things that I missed).
7. The staff were the BEST! The manager, Samantha (Sam), was a true gem!
8. The grounds offered lots of lushness, tropical plants (orchids!), sitting areas, a yoga hut that was used for lounging when there were no yoga classes), a bar over the water on the “pool island” with nice beer and wine and other seltzers and such (can only be charged to the room which assured only guests were there), bikes. A lovely pool. Lots of sun lounging as well as shade lounging. The grounds were indescribably beautiful and peaceful. I truly have never experienced anything like it at an inn!
9. Breakfast was lovely with delicious croissants and other pastries, cereals, yogurts, boiled eggs. A light but delicious breakfast. If you want a big breakfast, Mangrove Mike’s is about a block away and easily walkable.
10. Pet friendly.
11. Yoga classes offered a couple of times a week
12. Massage services available
13. Add-on available…. We got champagne and chocolate strawberries, which were delicious!
14. Plenty of parking.
