Upon arrival the staff that greeted us read the "welcome speech" so fast that we were only able to catch a few words before we were handed our welcome drinks and whisked off in the golf cart on our tour of the grounds. The property is breathtaking. It is as if you are transported to another world once you are on the other side of the gates. The bungalows are adorable and the bikes are a special touch. Everything is within walking distance yet you feel that you have total privacy. The number of schedules, reservations, and handouts give it a bit of a summer camp feel. The only place to get food or even a snack without a reservation is the bar. Guests are not allowed to "carry out" food back to the room unless you order room service that includes a $20.00 delivery charge. a 22% service charge, a 7.5% sales tax, the cost of the food (not included in the all-inclusive price of the resort), and the tip. The spa is the epitope of tranquility however, you only get the privilege of enjoying the Eucalyptus Steam Room and the Himalayan Salt Treatment Room if you purchase a spa treatment and only on the day of the treatment. The private tub in the bungalow was nice but after the first day it was never touched by maid service so it was filled with leaves and bird feces so we were not able to use it. Overall, it was a very quiet resort with very little to do. The food was very good. The service at the restaurants was good/excellent. The drinks were nice but the resort is WAY overpriced for an all-inclusive with such limited restaurants and amenities!

Our first Christmas out of the cold and snow was made memorable at Bungalows Key Largo. The holiday lights and music created the perfect atmosphere.
The resort is quiet and secluded and for adults only. The grounds were beautiful and well maintained. We stayed in one of the garden bungalows. We loved the outside shower and tub and the area around it was private.
We chose the romance package and received a bottle of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries upon our arrival. They stocked our fridge with soda and bottled water and replenished it daily. The bungalows were clean, the bed was comfortable, and the robe and slippers were a nice touch. The bath towels were of good quality.
There are two pools, the main pool and zen pool, both heated. You can sit wherever you want, the cabanas were no additional charge and no reservations needed. There's also a jacuzzi near each pool. Plenty of towels and bottled water available.
The service was top notch. My husband ran out of distilled water for his cpap machine and when I told the staff, a gallon of water was right at the door. I wished that I had remembered everyone's name for some shout outs, but every staff member was amazing and provided top notch service!
There are many boat tours you can take for an additional charge. We had booked the romance package so we had a $200 credit towards water sports and went on a Tiki boat ride. We had a great captain and it was a fun ride.
The romance package also included a $200 spa credit, we had a couples massage. The spa is beautiful and also has a steam room and salt treatment room. There are morning yoga classes but I wasn't up early enough to attend.
The two main restaurants are Fish Tales and Sea Senor. We alternated between both. Bogie & Bacall's is optional and has an extra charge. You do receive one complimentary dinner at Bogie's if you stay four nights or more. We had our Christmas dinner there, and it was amazing! You can also order food and drink poolside at both pools and also at the bars.
At all of the restaurants, reservations are required for dinner. Only dinner, not for breakfast or lunch. We had to modify our dinnertime due to coming in late after a delayed flight, and the staff graciously made sure we had a dinner available.
The cruiser bikes were one of the best features! My husband brought his 360 camera and made some really cool videos. We loved riding around the property.
At night they have live music on the beach and there are indoor and outdoor bars to choose from. Even at night, it wasn't rowdy. It was peaceful. We can't wait to go back!

Loved every minute. Full disclosure is that I was willing to give another all inclusive a try after being disappointed in the ones in Antigua and Mexico. This one lived up to my expectations and then some. The main draw for us this Christmas was that it was aduly only and we could drive to it.
The bungalows ( we stayed in one of the garden ones) and it was private and quiet. The outside tub and sitting area was perfect for morning coffee and evening soaking. The beds were comfortable and the linens were high quality. It was spotless!
The restaurants had great choices and we were impressed with them. The cocktails at the bars were made with premium liquor and the staff were fun, knowledgeable and did not forget a face. Ask for a coconut mojito….
We rented a boat and took our own tour of the waters beyond the Key and would highly recommend doing so if you are comfortable with driving a boat. I took yoga classes by the water and the arrival of a manatee made the class a bit more special as she hung around most of the class!
This was Christmas week and the festive music and atmosphere was just enough without being over the top. Little details like snacks in your bungalow at night and beautiful grounds made the place all the more romantic and special. Spa was gorgeous and my massage was relaxing and well done. Highly recommend and would return.

I will say it definitely lives up to the hype! All the staff was pleasant except the 2 miserable staff who checked us in & checked us out. Food & the bungalow itself was perfect. Spend the extra to get a water view to watch the sunsets every night!

The Bungalows in Key Largo is absolute top notch! So far exceeded our expectations in every way. The staff, the food, the drinks, the beach, our bungalow, you name it, they mastered it. Our only complaint is that we left too soon. With the cost we thought we would spoil ourselves for a few days not knowing what to expect. It was worth every penny. It is spendy, but the quality of the food and drink is superb. Treat yourself and stay here. We so enjoyed the outdoor shower and tub, such amazing privacy for each bungalow. The gardens were impeccable as was every inch of the resort. There are no vehicles driving around, just the staffs golf carts, it is so peaceful. The pool area and beaches have every sort of lounge chair, hammock etc. They thought of everything. Live music every evening on the beach. I just can’t say enough!!

I don't typically post reviews on travel sites, but I find a number of the reviews left for Bungalows to be unfair and probably posted by people who shouldn’t have traveled there in the first place.
My wife and I stayed at Bungalows in June - and despite historic South Florida rainfall that week, it was an exceptional experience. The grounds are lovely in a lush tropical way, you stay in really nice luxury bungalows and we found that the staff fell over themselves to be helpful.
I’ll mention that I am normally skeptical of all-inclusive resorts, finding that the food and drink inevitably suffer. Not at Bungalows. The drinks were high quality and made by bartenders who actually tend to bars and can mix drinks (blender drinks? Go to Sandals). All of the food was very good quality - fresh seafood, steaks, elegant Mexican food, a wide range of breakfast food. Quality amenities: Two very nice pools, a cool outdoor tiki bar, bar service at said pools (bar service just about everywhere!), water activities, evening entertainment, several boats to rent and only the weather prevented us from taking the sunset cruise (which we were told is lovely). And no kids…We get to experience our own teens at home the rest of the year, so we took a handful of days away from them.
A warning here: It’s an expensive stay - nice resorts always are. Notwithstanding its all-inclusive nature, Bungalows is not a discount travel experience. You get what you pay for. And yes people, you should tip your servers and staff - this is not unique to Bungalows and probably explains the lack of attentiveness in some of the reviews. Manners are expected at this Florida resort, even if shoes aren't.
Was everything perfect during our stay? No. A few blemishes here and there - some things I might have wished to be different, but overall a great resort and one of the better trips we’ve taken (my work takes me to a lot of nice hotels). I am not sure why people go to travel sites like this to litigate a bad hotel experience rather than fix it onsite with the manager…99% of the time, I find that they can resolve your issues.
Anyways, I would highly recommend Bungalows for a long weekend or a romantic getaway. A great Keys experience for us.

Me and my husband were so excited to visit this resort and were very disappointed from the minute we arrived. If you check in before 4:00 you have to pay $300 to enjoy any of the amenities on site including the pool. Next we were able see our room, the outdoor oasis tub was filled with debris and bird feces. The pool didn’t play any music half of the time and rarely had entertainment. You are asked to tip after everything you consume which I have never experienced at an all inclusive. Staff was unfriendly. We finally found a great fresh squeezed pineapple drink they made in house on Friday. They ran out after our second one. We were disappointed to learn the next day they had no plan in for making anymore and we were just out of luck. The pool area was very disappointing. It smelt like sewer everywhere you went. Nothing you would think a resort at this kind of price would have. The view of the water is brown and unflattering with some low grade floats in the water. Have never stayed at an all inclusive that was this bad! Will never return, wanted to leave 15 minutes after getting there but they would not offer a refund.

We booked at the last minute as Hurricane Beryl was pounding our original destination (Cancun). Our bungalow was on the beach with a spectacular view of the sunset. The accommodations were nice, clean and well maintained. Daily cleanup and turndown were on schedule. The restaurants were centrally located near the main pool. Food was exceptional. The pool was nice, but was crowded and often had no lounge chairs available. It paid to get there early, but there was the ever present book, towel, sun screen, etc “saving” the unoccupied space.

We just returned from a 3-night stay at The Bungalows and it was fantastic. We planned a two-part vacation. The first part was at the Bungalows, and the second part we spent talking about how great the Bungalows was. I did read the reviews and the website prior to going and what I have realized from some of the general negative reviews is that some people just didn’t read the website or the notices and have a different expectation for their vacation. For instance, someone was upset that they did not have an ocean view bungalow, and the website is clear that it is a water view, not ocean. If you look at the website and see pictures it is clear it is a marina/gulf side vibe. They are also clear about room service being an additional charge. Read the FAQ page and the policy page and you will not be disappointed. It was everything it said it would be AND more!
Pros:
It truly is a unique property that we learned was bought and redone with manicured beautiful gardens, bungalows with white sand roads… it felt like we were on an island.
“Welcome home” said the valet as we arrived. They offer you a beverage as you hop on the golf cart limo for your tour of the property and delivery to your bungalow. We stayed in a Garden King and it did not disappoint. It was quiet and intimate and just a few short steps to the entrance to coconut beach. We showered outdoors almost every day and took advantage of the outdoor tub. Super unique. The rooms were always clean and turn down service was nice with the little treats they leave you - yummy. We aren’t big night owls, so we were tucked in by 10pm each night and I can say, I don’t get up early for pretty much for anything if I can help it…but for some reason, this environment was so relaxing that I was ready and excited to start the day every morning at 6am to bike the trails or just walk on the docks and enjoy the serenity. My husband even commented “who are you? LOL”
We went in June, and it was not overly crowded…it felt like a perfect amount of occupancy. I can’t say what it would be like in peak season Dec- May, but June was great. I read some reviews that you had to get to a beach/pool chair early, but we didn’t find that to be the case probably because of the season. Everyone was super friendly and accommodating. We stayed 3 nights and probably could have used one more…but we were super happy with the mix of activity and relaxing. We did yoga on the beach (bring bug spray – there were a few little guys nipping at our ankles), we did Kayak, swam out to the water float, rested at sunset pool and Zen pool. We booked a snorkeling trip, and the crew was awesome. Captain (Steve (?) and mate Hallie were great, we chatted a bit with them, and he took us to such a beautiful spot! For my first-time snorkeling, it was perfection! I had a spa treatment, and that facility was really clever with dark bamboo and stone paths to your private massage room.
As for the food, I was prepared for the possibility that it wouldn’t be good based on the reviews, but we must have dodged the bad meals somehow because most of our meals were very good. With that said, we did not eat at Bogies because of the upcharge or Sea Senor because we weren’t in the mood for Mexican so I cannot review the food there. Honestly, we really enjoyed the Sunset Tiki and FishTales options so much that we went back there.
Cons:
Sunset Pool music – we really were not fans of the music that was played at the sunset pool. It seemed like the management didn’t read the clientele well and I think maybe rotating music genres to match the vibe and age of the guests might be helpful to the experience. I am sure the demographic changes fairly often, but on our trip, it was hip/hop lounge everyday all day, which was a little too NY club for being in the Keys. I did hear one woman ask about changing the playlist, but it didn’t change…not sure if the pool staff were allowed too or not?
Spa service - My only drawback on that was my treatment felt rushed, like the masseuse was a bit speedy it felt more clinical than relaxing. So, for the price, that was a little disappointing. But since we had just come from snorkeling (a lot of swimming) I benefited from the treatment either way.
Cash/Change – We were prepared to tip throughout our trip, but it was very difficult to get change, and we weren’t going to tip $20’s for small things…so I can see that backfiring on the staff because someone might just not tip because they don’t have change. We asked around but bar, spa, etc. no one had change so we had to bike to the front desk twice to get change. The first time they didn’t have any and asked that I come back later so I did, and they were able to get me change. Since the staff relies on tips, I think the resort should make it easier for guests to be able to properly tip them.
Overall, we were very pleased with our experience so much so that we kept talking about it on the second half of our vacation, it was somewhat funny…like we were reminiscing a fun time with a friend and comparing it to where we were.
We would definitely go back to The Bungalows, we were actually planning it out while we were laying around Sunset pool.

Do not recommend at all. Huge disappointment. Way overpriced and the food sucked. Not to mention we got the stomach bug from staying there. The breakfast is nothing special, the eggs benedict are pre frozen and the same exact ones they serve at all the resorts in the keys, it’s all from the same food supply company. Their food is not that good for the money you pay.
The “ocean view bungalows” (which are not ocean view as the ocean is really on the opposite site of the keys is a false misrepresentation of the room. The ocean is not even on that side of the coast ! Bungalows is actually on a lagoon and bay, that water you see is NOT the ocean, it is a lagoon bay.) The room should be called lagoon or bay view. It’s not on the ocean.
The rooms are so close to each other you have no privacy if you sit on your front balcony, you could rub elbows with the room next to you it's so close. The staff is rude, they all seem like they hate there jobs. And if you are the sucker who pays $300 extra just to check in early I feel sorry for you., it’s not worth it. And if you get to the check in before 4pm they treat you like chopped liver and look at you like you are the scum of the earth. As a airline pilot I frequent many resorts and would NOT recommend Bungalows to anyone. The owner is a money hungry careless person who does not care about the guests. Thanks Bungalows we will now be bed ridden from the yucky stomach bug you gave us. All the food sucked

We had an unforgettable and magical wedding thanks to everyone involved, including our Beachfront Bungalow neighbor and other guests we met that week!

My wife and I decided to go to an all-inclusive adult resort for a short getaway around Memorial Day weekend. We chose the Bungalows because of the proximity to the ocean and expected blue water. We also expected that since we were spending a living fortune that the food would be tremendous. This review will show the hits and misses of this resort as we saw it.
Atmosphere/Rooms
We came in really late because even though the Bungalows was expensive, their idea of transportation options is "get an Uber" or "take a sea plane". After our long ride and arrival we were offered drinks at reception. This was a nice touch and we were driven to our room.
The rooms are really bungalows! The roads seemed to be pavement that is covered with a thin layer of sand - which gave the place an artificial feel. But the bungalow is nestled in between green plants and trees. The door led out to the private tub and shower which was a very nice feature. Then there was a door to the room. Essentially, if you use the tub - you either have to key back into the room or keep it open with the door bolt.
The Bungalow room was gorgeous, clean, and comfortable - including the bed, which may be the most comfortable I have experienced away from my home. We didn't try room service because it was an extra cost - so I can't speak to that. But that was one of the many cheap-out extras that I was surprised with since we were spending around $2k a night for the oceanfront bungalow.
We had a deck out back with Adirondack chairs for two. The bikes that were promised were not there - but not a big deal. We had assumed the deck would face out to the beach - but there was no beach, just the paved and sand covered area with private and public chairs in your view. You could barely see the water from this room and certainly no shot at hearing the ocean waves at night.
The place has a couple of pools where couples are hanging together. Its a pretty good atmosphere for adults. You don't miss the children screaming.
Bar/Food
My wife and I spent a lot of time at the Tiki Bar - we never went to the indoor bar, I suppose because we just got used to it. The food out here was the best of the trip especially since it was very casual - pizzas, wings, burgers etc. Had we known before we ate our dinners in the restaurants that that food would have been of higher quality, we would have eaten there each day. Breakfast was decent - with a buffet, but during busy times, its really hard to get around in that area. The breakfasts had the greatest variety though from bagels and toast to Eggs Benedict and charcuterie.
Lunch and dinner at Fish Tales was kind of disappointing. While we found things we liked on the menu, the more fancy food was low quality. Under done steaks and overdone burgers. The shrimp was ok - but feels skimpy. Desserts in petit fours were decent and fulfilled our sweet need at the end of the meal. Servers were either over busy or not attentive at times. Getting a refill on a Diet Coke in the morning was just not a possibility. Later on, they ran dry of Diet Coke and it wasn't fixed for several hours. They never ran out of sweet island drinks - so I suppose there's that.
We didn't try Sea Senor - even though we scheduled it on the last day. We opted to go to the bar and eat there. Somehow, we had low expectations of it, and decided not even to try.
Purchased time post check-out
We spent $300 to be able to stay on our last day until 3pm because we had an evening flight home. We were told to check out of our room and when we arrived at reception, they told us we could go back in. Note - reception is several feet from where we were and there was no offer to drive us back in. They let us in through the side door and we had to find our way back by foot. It was a little strange tbh.
Activities and Extras
My wife and I did not participate in any of the offered activities like snorkeling, floating tiki bar (which you have to bring 2 drinks on with you we were told), boat and catamaran rides etc. They were all pretty expensive, and the "free" offerings were really limited. We came for the sun - and that was free.
Overall
The trip wasn't bad but was below expectations for what we spent. I expect when I'm spending this amount of money that we would have had a lot better food overall, an ability to eat privately without having to spend another $100 to get food we are owed anyway. You can't even take out the food!
Bungalows should offer transportation options beyond - "get yourself there". Again, high expectations and low results.
Rooms were great but really don't go if you want to spend time on the ocean. You are in a concrete jungle, masked with palm trees and a thin layer of sand. You literally land in a tourist trap.
There are plenty of good folks working at the Bungalows, particularly the people behind the bar (Julie and Samantha were awesome!) and the folks cleaning the room were so sweet and understanding. Tip these folks well if you go - they deserve it.

We just got back from an excellent 5 days at Bungalows.
My complaints—
1. We paid for early check in and late check out. We arrived at 1:15 and our room wasn’t ready until 3:30 (only 30 minutes before normal check in hours), which seemed like a waste of our $300 early check in charge. Also, it doesn’t make sense to me still because you have to be out of the bungalows at 11:00….so I’m not sure how it took over 4 hours to have our room ready. Even for late check out, you can stay on property until 3:00 (instead of 11:00), but you lose bungalow access at 11:00.
2. While I’m okay with the tipping, it was annoying to be handed a bill at the end of every meal and it sit and wait for a bill to come for poolside service when we were ready to leave. It felt less relaxing this way.
3. The beach (or lack thereof). The property is gorgeous but there is no real space for taking beach walks…and no where to walk alongside the water, as the property is rocky at the water’s edge.
My loves—
1. Bungalows are SO CUTE! Plenty of space, loved the luxurious set up and couldn’t love the private outdoor space more. Really enjoyed having my morning coffee in peace and quiet.
2. Food. Such big servings and delicious flavors!! We never went hungry. Sea Senor and B&B were our favorites. Shout out to: Natalia, Ben, Nevada and Marcella—all excellent staff at the restaurants!!
3. Drinks. Plentiful and STRONG! Loved trying lots of new things and the pool staff kept the drinks flowing each day!
4. Music. Loved the live music each day. Made for a wonderful poolside vibe.
5. Water activities. Lots of activities free of charge!! The water was gorgeous and clear and the pools were immaculate.
Our best vacation ever? No. Would I go back in a heartbeat? Yes. We did really enjoy our time here!!
