Room , service and food exceptional , However supposed to be an adults only hotel . The only pool for adults was the activities pool , very noisy blaring jungle music all day so we had to sit at the pool which could be used for the families . Likewise the entertainment in the Luxury was terrible , drummer in house band completely spoiled all the music and piano player couldn’t sing or play . Again we had to go to the family area . Adults only waste if money .

A very mixed bag of either very good or very disappointing! GOOD Room was spacious, comfortable and well maintained. Food was absolutely amazing regardless of whether you chose the Buffet or one of about 9 A la Cartes. Service throughout the complex was excellent. Staff were hard working, pleasant, polite and made you feel extremely valued. DISAPPOINTING Evening entertainment was rubbish. On Motown night the 4 singers had to keep swapping the microphone because the other 3 didn’t work. On all other nights the sound was poor and like most people we walked out well before the end. One night per week they charge upwards of I think it was $15 per person to see the show!!!! We went Luxury. Waste of money. The people in the Grand were able to do 95% of what we could plus regularly took advantage of what little extra privileges we allegedly had. Kids in our Adult only pool. Non Luxury in our Luxury pool. Asked Staff on almost every day to clarify the position and got different responses almost every occasion. Entertainment by the pool was very annoying. A nice bit of sing along quiet music, maybe some Bob Marley etc would have been nice. TWO WEEKS of self indulgent RAP and Boom Boom nonsense ALL DAY LONG. So if you fancy a nice reasonably quiet relaxing holiday in the beautiful Jamaican sunshine this might not be for you. Beach is in the main gritty and a lot of it appears to be man made. Neither the beach nor the sea were very inviting. Finally, beware of the lovely people who having been very chatty and friendly invite you to a lovely 90 minute breakfast to tell you about all the hotels in the group and offer an $80 voucher. They are trying to pressure sell you to sign up to the Privilege Club. We almost got caught out until someone put us straight. One couple were still trying to get away from a Salesman after 4 hours!!! We thought it sad that we were being constantly pestered by Sales staff within the Hotel. SUMMARY We are seasoned travellers and this is our 4th visit to Jamaica. Fabulous island, amazing weather, lovely people, food is to die for but we wouldn’t choose this hotel again.

Unfortunately our trip was extremely disappointing. I’ll start by saying that the hotel itself wasn’t bad. It was clean and manicured. The lobby was nice. The rooms were average. The rooms are clean but definitely dated. Don’t expect anything very fancy. Couple of beers and sodas each day. They didn’t clean the coffee pot or replace the coffee. Not that big of a deal but it’s what happened. If you do book this hotel bring a power strip without the ground plug. They only have 2 pronged plugs except for the bathroom. Two of the most disappointing experiences was the restaurant’s and the pools. We arrived on a Wednesday afternoon. First thing Thursday morning we attempted to make reservations for all three nights but there was no availability at any of the six locations. The first night they were able to make reservations at 9:30pm and told us to just show up at 8pm and they would try to accommodate us. The rest of our stay we ate at the buffet. The Jerk Chicken at the poolside restaurant was very tasty. The last two days they closed two of the large adult pools without any reason. The lifeguards sat there to tell everyone to get out. We asked for management but they never came. One mid level manger came to discuss the issue but she had no answers. I actually felt bad for her. The lifeguard was rude. Be prepared to drink Red Stripe (no Red Stripe Light) or bottom shelf liquor. Anything like Jack Daniel’s (or higher end bourbon) was extra. Smirnoff or Absolute was your only vodka option unless you wanted to pay more for premium. The beach is more of a lagoon(kind of rocky in the water). You will have no issues being offered weed, but they will also want to sit with you on the beach and hangout. lol. I’m not one to usually leave a review, especially a poor one, but I would hate for someone else to have our experience. I don’t want to have a negative impact on someone else’s business, hopefully they will read this and make the necessary changes to enhance customer experience. As for me and my wife, we won’t be back here. We will return to Grand Palladium or a different resort on our next visit to Jamaica

This was our first experience with an all-inclusive resort, and it did not disappoint!! From the service to the food to the scenery...everything was absolutely amazing!! This particular resort location offers an adults-only side along with a family side. Brilliant idea! Likewise, though we spent most of the day at the beach areas, we tremendously enjoyed the daily entertainment around the pool in the late afternoon. We are already planning to visit another Bahia Principe location next year.

Disappointed, 9 night stay at the luxury. First night booked into building 25 , room 25517. Odd numbers in building 25 back onto the highway with constant traffic noise! Requested to be moved and the lady at the front counter was less than helpful and very poor attitude. Moved to a new room on second night building 26, even numbers face the parking lot and hi-way. Better than building 25 but still traffic noise. All buildings have tile floors in the hallway and cart noise starts at 7 am with the plastic wheeled carts like a train coming down the hall. Food was good for the restaurants we were able to book, the luxury side seems to not get access to restaurants on the Grande side even though that is supposed to be the selling point on the luxury side, access to restaurants across the resort was certainly not the case. Pools were good as was the beach and most staff at the restaurants and bars were pleasant and very helpful. If I was to stay there again, book on the Grande side and pay for the upgraded room with a pool or ocean view. The Grande side appears to be better maintained and away from the hi-way noise, it is also has a better lounge, night life and restaurant choices.

Definitely not a 5 star more a 3 star . We were on the luxury side and you had to pay for the premium liquor 8 dollars for jack Daniel, mostly cheap liquor . I have been to numerous All Inclusive and never had to pay extra . Food was average even in the Ala carte restaurants a lot of it was over cooked and very bland . Also food served just warm not hot . Rooms need to upgraded very dated and rundown , bathrooms need to be re caulked looks very dirty . Staff were a hit and miss , they would stand there talking with each other or on their phone while you waited . It was our first time at a Bahai resort and would not recommend it , not worth the money .

For us, there are many positives but more negatives at this resort as we were looking for a a relaxing and safe beach experience. As it says there is a private beach, well, there is, but one can not enjoy it with being harrased by locals selling pot. They just stand by the stairs, smoke all day, having loud conversations and try to sell you that staff every 30 min. We are at RIU in Montego Bay last month, there they had security on the beach and locals never left the water.

My wife and I stayed here for the first time in about 8 years. We had been staying at a smaller resort across the bay that recently closed down. To start, the resort is huge. If big resorts are not your thing, look elsewhere. It was almost a mile from our room to the farthest western part of the property. Great resort if you are a walker. We stayed in room 25221. The room was large and clean. Needed more outlets. And for as big as the bathroom was, the shower and toilet were very small. Also, the hallways were a little loud . The hallway is on the same level as the main bar, so at night, it’s used sort of as a thoroughfare to get to block 26 and 27. The road could be easily heard when we opened our patio door, would recommend blocks 26 or 27 for a quieter experience. Food was good. Nothing was bad. Though complaints about cold buffet food are accurate especially for breakfast. The Rodizio was very good. The Picaso , not quite as good, the lamb chops were gamey. The Jerk Chicken was pretty tasty. We did dinner on the beach, which was ok, needed a couple other food options. The spa was really good. Aretha and Mitylene did amazing work. Mitylene really helped fix a lower back problem I was experiencing. Overall the staff was very friendly and helpful. Shout out to our housekeeper Mahalia, who did a fantastic job keeping our room cleaned and towels stocked. Also, Kimmoya in the Main Bar was very friendly and made a great lemon drop martini. Will we be back? Maybe, depending on the situation. But with our favorite resort having closed down, we will probably try other properties as well.

The staff of this resort were the saving grace for this review. They are phenomenal - friendly, helpful and hard-working. The resort was huge and beautiful on the outside but we were not impressed with the resort itself. Unless you are a Privilege Member, it was hard to get reservations in the most of the restaurants at a decent time (ie. before 9pm) and one restaurant was not available at all. There were so many little things wrong with our room. Broken drawers in the dresser, shower door wouldn't close, handheld shower wand broken, drain cover in shower kept coming out, mattress was a "U" and should have been replaced years ago, and the privacy curtains shielding the bathroom from the bedroom didn't close all the way. One major thing was, unless you got food direct from a grill the food was not hot and cold food was not cold. We were told to reheat buffet items in the supplied microwaves. This was extremely worrisome given the possibility for food poisoning. They also used tap water the last day we were there resulting in digestive upset for days. We also weren't prepared for the amount money we had to shell out for tips, snorkeling and any shows that the resort was presenting. We ran out of cash. All-in-all, we would not go back again.

I dare any of the management to eat at the buffet for at least three days straight. The only hot food you will receive is an omelette or fried eggs that’s done in front of you. All other food is left over from the previous day and only a little warm and dried up. Very disappointed for what we paid to stay at this supposed to be a 5 star location. More like a two. Couldn’t take a bath- no plug for the tub. No face cloths for entire two weeks. Dishes left in the stairwell for days even after informing the staff. Elevator only worked when it felt like. Didn’t work at all on the final day. Lots of marks on many doors that need to be addressed. The same hotel in Mexico - now that was a five star. Very disappointed indeed and to make maters worst we had two chicken burgers two fries two drinks at the airport that should be some ware around 30 to 40 bucks cost me 122.00 Canadian. I don’t need to see Jamaica that bad. There are many other places in this world to go. We will never set foot in Jamaica again and Bahia Principe will never see us as well.

We stayed at Bahia Principe Luxury Runaway Bay March 2-8, 2025. Overall, one of the best all-inclusive resorts we have stayed in. Please note that all Bahia Principe resorts have now been acquired by Hyatt so some of our experience may change when the management takes over in April. Also note that staff and store owners there told us that when we were there, it was an unusually low number of guests for what is usually a busy time. Resort in general: The Luxury resort is the adults-only side of the entire resort. So you have access to the Grand Jamaica resort, which is the family side. They are attached to each other and it is a large property. But guests and children at the Grand Jamaica side cannot come over to the Luxury side. There is a pool that winds through the entire resort so there are lots of chairs at pool side with covered cabanas and umbrellas. It’s mostly shallow for cooling off in. There are a couple of swim-up bars. The beach is also very large, there are multiple areas to access. The center area on the Grand side is more rocky. Again, lots of chairs and umbrellas to sit. Some areas have a bar, other areas there are servers that come and take orders. Note that the resort is not near any areas that you can walk to, such as a town or shopping villages. You need a car or need to make reservations for excursions. Resort is about an hour from the Sangster Airport in Montego Bay. We took the transport that the hotel offers. It is a very large bus and it stops at a couple other resorts, so it was about 1 hour 20 minute trip, but it was not too expensive. There is a spa, which we did not use. And two gyms, one at Luxury and one at Grand. They are fairly nice with multiple machines. They have some classes too. Our Room:was very nice. We had the junior deluxe which is basic, but it is very large, clean, and had a jetted tub. However, it took forever to fill it up. The balcony is also very nice, private, and has a small rack attached to the wall to hang wet towels and swim suits. Also there is a “bar” and fridge that is refilled every day for free. They give you bottled water, bottles of Coca Cola, some snacks. These are replenished daily. They also give you a bottle of vodka and rum, but this is just once, not refilled. Room service is also free of charge. We scanned the menu and it looks like you can get food from the restaurants too, not just basic food. There were only 4 TV channels. Food: On the Luxury side, there is the buffet restaurant, Jazmin, which is very good. Lots of options and the staff are all very nice. Food was always hot and fresh. Luxury side cannot use the Grand side buffet. There are 3 “ala carte restaurants” at Luxury side, where you need to make reservations ahead of time. We used the Bahia app and were able to reserve a week before we arrived, which is good, because otherwise it’s hard to get a reservation. The Picasso was the best by far. Takana is supposed to be Asian food, and while it tasted good, is not really classic Asian (I know, because I’m Chinese!) The Rodizzio is “Brazilian steakhouse”, but it is actually outside under the tent which doubles as one of the buffets for breakfast and lunch. We had a late reservation at 9:30pm and maybe that is why but the meat was not very good. Not hot, and we had to ask for them to come around to our table. The salad bar is basically what was served at the buffet, and so was the dessert. Definitely not high quality like most Brazillian steakhouses. The Grand Jamaica side also has 3-4 “ala carte restaurants” which you can make reservations for. We didn’t get in to any of those. There are some light snacks and water/coffee in each of the two front lobbies during the day and evening. During some hours in the middle of the day, at the pool side at Luxury, there weres some snacks available (nacho chips, fruit, mini-burgers, etc). Activities: - We enjoyed sitting at the outdoor patio at the Grand Jamaica side. Some live music, bar, etc. The Luxury side has a smaller outdoor area near the front lobby, but not as nice. - There are shows every night indoors in an auditorium, but the sound system is so bad you can’t really hear the music well. - There is an older area on the west side of the resort that has some shops. Apparently they used to have a casino and live entertainment there, but it’s not used much anymore, so the shop owners are struggling over there. And it’s not advertised because there are also shops that are part of the resort. We tried to support the independent shops to help them out. Prices are cheaper there too. - Some water sports available, but we did not use any of them. - Plenty of different companies at the resort that offer off-site excursions around Jamaica that you can make reservations with.

This resort has serious management issues that need to be addressed. I am suspecting this is due to the BP merging with Hyatt and the staff are unsure of how long they will have jobs. If you order room service, expect it to take 1-2 hours to arrive, and only expect 50% of what you ordered. If you want your room cleaned daily and the fridge restocked - think again! We experienced 6 days in a row where we had to call in order to get someone clean the room and restock the fridge with water. We never put the do not disturb sign on the door. Expect Coming2 to sell excursions to you where you may not be able to partipate. They will not discuss refunds or alternate excursions once they have your money. For example we purchased the Dunn Falls Excursion. The representative was fully aware that I had a full knee replacement. When we arrived at the facility, the tour staff seen the scar and immediately advised I could not participate. This is not a fault with the actual excursion facility, but rather an issue with Coming2 for even selling this excursion to us. They refused to refund me.

This was our 2nd visit. We went last year and enjoyed it so much that we chose to return this year. Check in went smoothly. We were assigned to Andale, who showed us to our rooms and helped us make dinner reservations at the specialty restaurants. We did make a few reservations from home before we left, on the APP, but she was able to adjust times for us, which we greatly appreciated. We were on the Luxury side. Rooms were clean and comfortable. The refrigerator was re-stocked daily. There was plenty of hot water and hot tubs in the bathrooms. The beach is clean. There are several areas where you can camp out. The resort was at about half capacity, so we had no trouble finding beach chairs and palapas. We love to snorkel. There is very good snorkeling right at the resort in warm shallow water. We saw small rays, lion fish, crabs and many tropical fish. If it is calm, the life guard might look the other way and allow you to swim around the wall behind the central gazebo where the snorkeling is fantastic. We also booked a snorkeling trip at the resort, from the dive shop, which took us to a nice spot about 15 minutes away ($45 each). Food at the buffets was very good. The scrambled eggs were excellent. The pineapple was perfect. Our favorite specialty restaurant was the Asian Fusion. We all loved our meals and specialty cocktails. The waiter was fabulous. We liked our meals at the Knife and Italian restaurants also. The drinks, overall, at the resort were good. The bartenders were great and there were waiters on the beach also. We were surprised to find that there was a charge for the Jamaica show and the St. Patrick's Day party this year. We did enjoy the free lobby entertainment each evening. We heard that the resort has been bought by Hyatt. Some staff confided that they were worried about their jobs. We heard that the family side of the resort would we closing for renovations. We booked a private trip to go shopping in Ocho Rios, the Blue Hole and snorkeling at Mahogany beach. You should ask for Vernon as your guide at the blue Hole. He was very good. Our driver was Oneil Bolt 876-576-1024 ONeil_Bolt@yahoo.com. He did a fantastic job and was extremely personable. He will customize any trip for you. He will also do airport transfers.

Wifi was fine in room and lobby but at times weak at pools. Loved beach bar but all service was great at bars, pools,a la carte restaurants did not try room service. Airport shuttle was fine and I highly recommend this resort .Regret going to PVR so many times past few years. The resort is fresh and well maintained. Hope to return again next winter.
