Divi Little Bay Winter Break

We arrived on a Wednesday around 3pm. It only took a few minutes to get checked in and to our room. We were on the second floor of building 12, the building closest to Fort Amsterdam. We had a one bedroom one bathroom suite, with balcony overlooking Great Bay, the views were stunning and we got to see the cruise ships each day. The first morning we went up and walked around the Fort, the ruins are cool to walk around and explanations of each area are posted. The second day we went up there for the sunrise, it was great, but had a little cloud cover! The birds were fun to watch too! The rest of the week we spent between the beach and numerous pools. The ocean water is pristine, the ocean floor is soft and white sand. Most days the waves were small and rolling. One day we had big crashing waves, perfect for body surfing. In all we had an amazing time, it was our third Divi Property, so we came with preconceived expectations that sadly were not met. We are Divi Vacation Club Members, and our home resort is Divi Village and Golf in Aruba, we have stayed at Divi Village and Golf, and Divi Dutch in the past couple years. The service was the biggest disappointment. I realize we’re on vacation and very lucky, but we’re used to and spoiled by the service at Divi Golf. The staff at Divi Little Bay didn’t seem to care much for the guests other than the women at The Amsterdam Cafe. They were amazing and very sweet! We did opted for the Premium All Inclusive and the food did not disappoint. Gizmo greeted us at her restaurant/bar on day one and was a staple throughout the week. The salads were good, as were the burgers, just know, the smash burgers are not actually smashed (more like a big burger), but good nonetheless! The Shack was very good, you can get Tacos, Nachos, Chips and Salsa, and Churros with Ice Cream for dessert! Slice, the pizza shop was also very good. Made to order pizza and calzones. Pure Ocean, the breakfast and dinner buffet were decent, but the Italian Ala Cart menu was pretty good. Mix at Oceans was probably the best food we had, simple menu, but plenty of options for a teenager and picky adults. The drinks are where this place shines. The Italian Margarita was spectacular, I had several! Seabreeze was really good! If you don’t mind cooking your meat on your own lava stone, try the Chruasco (Skirt Steak) was flavorful and perfectly cooked by me! They have a few other items that you cook on the lava stone, and several other dishes that come prepared. The Pool Bar was great too! Getting a good spot with chairs and an umbrella on the beach was very easy without having to get to the beach early. We swam out to the underwater statues to snorkel, easy swim from the Divi Beach, but there were not a ton of fish to see. The next day we went snorkeling from the old boat ramp (up the hill before Fort Amsterdam). There was a gazillion fish, they were amazing and so many varieties! All in all it was a great variation, but we will not hurry back to Divi Little Bay and we’re looking forward to our August trip to Divi Village and Golf!

Where to begin…. We stayed for a whole week in an oceans suite. This hotel absolutely has the best beach in St. Martin/Marteen, which is largely why we originally chose this hotel. The views are absolutely unbeatable. We are already planning our trip back to St. Martin in 2027 and will be staying at Divi again. The oceans rooms are new and upgraded… we loved having a kitchen and laundry. Our room was clean upon check in and we noticed that the resort was clean our entire stay. The food on the resort is pretty good, as well. We rented a car to get around, beware that some of the roads are very hilly/windy and the driving can be a little intense. However, by the end of the week we felt more comfortable and drove over to the French side for several dinners. We enjoyed watching the cruise ships come in every morning. The resort itself is very large and has several different pools to enjoy as well as the beach, which we liked. The only thing to be aware of is that cruise passengers are able to get day passes to Divi beach and sometimes it can get very crowded. If you get up early to get a spot it is totally fine, however. Before we came, a lot of the reviews discussed slow service as a complaint at Divi. The service can be somewhat slow in some places, however, remember that you are on Caribbean time down here! We were on vacation and had no issue waiting for someone to assist either in the restaurants or on the beach. It is not going to be as fast service as in the United States. We took this week to slow down and enjoy our time. Now for the staff. The resort was already very nice. However, the staff made this an experience we won’t forget and will be returning to! We made several new friends at the resort. We first met Eddy when we checked in and he helped us when our room was mixed up. There’s not enough good things to say about him! He drove us around the resort all week and we were so happy to see him everyday. He even called to check in on us, and said goodbye on our last day. We met Laurel at the pizza shop at the resort, Slice. She is a ray of sunshine with her yellow glasses! One of us is gluten free, and she told us she makes her dough daily and was able to accommodate us. After that, we were fast friends and stopped by to talk with her everyday just about life! We will miss seeing her in the mornings. McKenzie was one of the beach attendants who set up our chairs and umbrellas. He is an extremely hard worker and was out in the sun everyday. We enjoyed seeing and talking with him each morning! Alex was the beach restaurant attendant who brought us piña coladas each day. He was also a joy to be around and we enjoyed talking with him. We will miss everyone and can’t wait to be back next year! There were many other staff that we didn’t get the names of that were absolutely incredible as well, such as the ladies in the coffee shop. Overall, would definitely recommend staying here and we will be returning.

Nice resort but needs refurbishing

We ALWAYS book ocean front if available. We got slight ocean view. But can hear the waves. We came early and had a long wait til 4:00 check in. Didn't realize it was a timeshare place. So was offered a presentation. We declined. When we went to see if our assigned room was available at CK in time, they switched our room. No idea if that was because we declined timeshare presentation. Our room was a king studio. But it looks to be in original condition. The ac in the room was very loud but... It worked so that's good. The room is huge. Seperate living room and kitchen. There is no wifi in the area our room is in. It comes and goes at the beach where I am now. The kitchen doesn't have any condiments like salt & pepper or even coffee, tea, sugar & cream. The insight store is at least twice as much as non resort grocery. (Somebody should offer off site grocery delivery. I'd pay for it). One man bout a 6 pack of beer for $16 us dollars at the store. We will rent a car and do a little shopping. But very disappointed with our rooms view and dated interior so unlikely we will spend any time in there. The tvs in The room don't get many channels and we aren't crazy about the news choices. We met anne Marie last night at a managers welcome party. Seemed very nice. Went to all the tables to introduce herself. Said the resort is 100% booked and that presidents week is there busiest time. Most of the staff seemed very friendly. Shout out to pool bar. We had to wait over a hour to give our our at the restaurant last night. It was very clear the staff needed more help. One waitress woman was so upset we saw her arguing with another staff member. No idea what was being said but I could imagine. Since no coffee or water provided in our room we went to a coffee shop and paid $20 USA for two lattes and 2 bottles waters. We considered paying aprox 300 a day for the all Inclusive ve but declined. Last week we were on a cruise and next week staying at all inclusive on different island. Figured we could use a break and be a little wiser on food and drink. Lol. I don't know how the price compares to other resorts on the island but we are paying about what we pay for all inclusive 4* places. I picked this place for the beach. They really need to update the entire place. Lots of older furnishings, missing tiles at pool. I can't complain about them switching our room because the location is MUCH more central to the main restaurants, bar and beach. It's a 3* place with 4* amenities. Beautiful clean beach. Yes people saved chairs but, at beach plenty of loungers stacked by wall. We and others got our own since nobody came to place the chairs and umbrella for us. I advise when you book you request a updated room close to main amenities. We just arrived yesterday for a week so will update if things change.

Reasonable priced luxury resort with Great Service and Amenities

We have been coming to Divi Little Bay for years. We stay in one of the timeshare units and usually have the same unit every year. We love the resort, the beach, the staff, and the convenience. Our unit is in the older part of Divi and is very spacious with a large bedroom, living area, kitchen, and two bathrooms. It is near Fort Amsterdam and, as a result, is very quiet. Since it is an older unit, it does have a few issues: sticking doors, some chipped paint, a very loud AC unit, and a temperamental safe. That said, we are very happy with it overall. The staff overall is of high quality. Most everyone is pleasant, engaging, and very helpful. The landscapers, the housekeepers, and the service staff are friendly, courteous, and engaging. A special shout-out to certain members of The Shack and Slice. Laurel and Alex of Slice and Carlos of The Shack went above and beyond to provide great service. Laurel (who works at Slice) goes out of her way to make sure that everyone who frequents Slice is treated like they are the most important guest at the resort. She is always engaging and fun to be around. My wife and I think Laurel should be giving classes in service to everyone at Divi. Divi offers a variety of restaurants at the resort. We frequented Sea Breeze, The Shack, Slice and Mix. They also have a mini mart at the resort, so you can have meals in your room. We tended to have breakfast/lunch in our room and dined out for dinner. Mix has added a menu of items that are grilled on the Big Green Egg and are available on the weekends. This is a nice addition. The Resort also has a large bar area - Gizmos. There are also many excellent restaurants off property near the resort. The resort has several pools/hottubs in addition to an excellent beach. We tend to rotate among the infinity pool, the beach, and the main pool areas depending on the weather and the shade. While not inexpensive, we find Divi Little Bay to be very reasonable compared to other resorts in the Caribbean. Overall, we are very pleased with Divi Little Bay and plan on returning for years to come.

Don't dive with the on-site shop, they are very dishonest and unprofessional- this is coming from a dive master and a DMC! If you want a great dive experience, take a taxi over to Dive Sint Martin, they are an excellent shop you can trust.
