Overall our experience wasn't great at the resort. For the price we paid, we were definitely disappointed. We also realized after looking at some past reviews that some of the problems were already highlighted by other guests in the past yet the management did not do anything about them. I would not recommend this property for this price. 1. We booked a King bed room but we were given a Queen bed because they didn't have any King at the time we checked in. We checked back again the next day and it was the same story. We specifically booked a King room because that was our preference but we were not given one. They were going to let us know once King opens but they didn't. Nobody cared to check back with us if and when the room was available 2. The bathroom tap water wasn't running out smoothly. It was clogging the sink 3. The day we checked in, trash in the bathroom was not taken out. It was full from our previous guests usage 4. One day when we went out and returned at night, we found our room door open. We first thought housekeeping was inside probably cleaning but there was nobody inside. We immediately checked if all our valuables were safe. This is a major security issue and could impact us hugely if we lost any items. Bad door and poor housekeeping rules. 5. There was also construction (drill, hammer) happening above our room upstairs which used to start early in the morning (7 a.m), disturbing our sleep 6. Juan p with Marbella was excellent can’t recommend him enough great service resort was great staff was pleasant definitely will be visiting again as first time visitor to Puerto Rico this was an above and beyond experience I love the culture and the hospitality.

Very excellent service by Joel de recreaciones. He quickly noted we needed service and asked how we could be of help. He promptly got us beach chairs and an umbrella, and cleaned the chairs. I would highly recommend Joel to take care of your beach recreational needs!

We had a wonderful stay. It's a beautiful resort with a friendly staff. Everyone was very accommodating. Other than everything being overpriced, our bed was worn and uncomfortable. Overall, some of the finishes are looking worn and need to be updated.

Her professionalism was greatly appreciated!

Christian made our time on this trip. He was the best bartender ever- extremely attentive, personable and kind. We had a few issues checking into the room and wanted a relaxing pool day and Christian certainly turned our trip around. Thank you for making our day amazing! :)

I wish I could mention every person who helped us and welcomed us in this resort, but there are too many to mention. In particular Magda at the morning breakfast buffet felt like family after two minutes, Joel and Hector at the beach could not do enough to make us comfortable and relaxed. Watching Joel dig potholes for our extra umbrellas demonstrated how these recreation department guys truly go the extra mile. There is an air of understanding that we are “on vacation” and in need of special handling that permeates this resort.

This resort is amazing and beautiful the rooms are clean bed and pillows are extra comfortable. The view is awesome anything you can dream of the food is very delicious. The customer service is spectacular I will be coming back here again.🥰

In particular every day at breakfast, we were greeted by Magda who helped my wife Jeri with her sore back and treated us like a member of the family our dinner at Paleo was served by Sondra who remembered all of our food sensitivities despite two visits a week apart finally a shout out to Bianca, who took us on a fun bird excursion, but then greeted us by name no matter where or when we bumped into her on the premises clearly, you are doing something right.

Upon arrival Oscar of the valet staff was very polite, welcoming, and helpful. He stored our baggage for us and directed us to self parking. The recreation staff was also very polite and helpful, especially Joel. They set up our chairs and umbrella. We had our room serviced by the housekeeping staff and everything was so nice and clean when we returned to our room. The grounds are very clean and beautiful. We are very pleased with our accommodations. This is our first time to visit PR, and we will definitely return to Margaritaville.

Suggested many places to eat and things to do. Always took time to say hello when you were in the area. Francisco at the Tiki Hut bar was fabulous. Drinks were great, service outstanding. Loved his homeland and happy to share what was special in the area. Joanne in the Marbella greeted with a most welcoming smile and made sure you had everything you needed. The staff all seemed happy at their work. They sang and smiled. It was what made the place so much more.

Marcos F. Perez was a daily welcoming presence in the bar and at check in. Loved his smile and hospitality!! Clean and well designed roomed. The shower was fantastic after a long hike at El Yunque. Fantastic breakfast buffet- with even homemade tasting rice and beans.

Special shoutout to Jacqueline at the front desk who took great care of us—as I told the manager, if every employee could be a Jacqueline, this would be perfect.

We love this place. Once you get past the cheesy attempt to get you to a sales presentation, it's very enjoyable here. Resort is undergoing. a $55 million renovation, which they're doing with very minimal disruption. Pools have been redone and are really nice, with the addition of an adult "quiet" pool. They've also added a beach club, but I don't think they got that right yet. It's about 1/2 a mile down the beach. Allegedly opens at 9 a.m. We arrived at 9:30. There was a security guard there, no towels and nobody at the bar. The surrounding area is interesting and there are lots of great bars and local restaurants. We'll definitely be back though.

I had the same upsetting experience on my last two stays at the Wyndham Rio Mar: I made reservations for ocean view rooms (a renovated room on the more recent reservation) months in advance, but without prior notice, the hotel changed them at the last minute to lower category rooms...

I had the same upsetting experience on my last two stays at the Wyndham Rio Mar: I made reservations for ocean view rooms (a renovated room on the more recent reservation) months in advance, but without prior notice, the hotel changed them at the last minute to lower category rooms (non-renovated room and pool view). I travel often in the US and Europe and can't recall this happening anywhere, much less on two consecutive stays at the same property. I think it's a bait and switch -- the Wyndham Rio Mar is knowingly overselling rooms and then, on the eve of check-in, assigning the rooms to guests who are paying higher rates per night for the same room (probably those who, unlike me, made their reservations at the last minute), relegating the other reservation holders to lower quality rooms. It's extremely annoying to learn when you're checking in that the hotel is not honoring the reservation you made, so beware! If you're staying here, I suggest monitoring your reservation often, especially as your arrival date approaches, and calling the front desk in advance of checking in to let them know you expect them to honor your room selection and will not stand for a bait and switch.
