The SoCo hotel boasts beautiful reviews of the sea. The staff were all wonderful and helpful with any needs that arose during our stay. Shane and Zach at the bar were amazing and the rum tasting with Michelle was wonderful! Would recommend this hotel for an amazing stay in Barbados!

Rum tasting is the absolute best! Thank you Michelle, you're the bomb!! Thoroughly recommend this to all, with no exceptions! Rum in the sunshine having a laugh with others is the perfect way to spend an hour or so of our holiday! Long may it continue!

The Soco hotel is a small resort with a lot of heart and attention to detail. If your ideal holiday is to experience an island paradise without all the noise and bustle of a busy family resort, this place is for you. The food is excellent and the staff are the friendliest bunch you are likely to meet. I highly recommend the rum tasting session with Michelle. You'll experience 6 different rums all with their own characters and learn what to look out for when you're ordering your favourite cocktails across the island. You'll also have a good laugh and a bit of a dance as you do. I can't recommend this place enough of you want your time in Barbados to be a real ing, friendly and well-fed one. 5*

This is our second visit to the Soco, we stayed last year pre cruise and returned for a slightly longer stay pre cruise this year. Last year we had a ground floor room which we really liked but this year enjoyed a room on the second floor this time. Food remains very good, everything is cooked to order - if anything the portions are too large, even when I asked for a small portion. The staff are lovely and can’t do enough for you. We hope to be back.

Just home after 10 day stay at Soco with mixed experiences. Some very good, some less so. Positives are beautiful views from our room (303), wonderful staff especially the amazing Michelle and great location for the beach. Bar area good and staff excellent. Less positive was the cockroach eggs found in our room on penultimate day and listening to 2 other guests who had found cockroach in their room. Room was treated and eggs removed immediately and I understand sometimes these things happen. Less positive was no contact from senior management which I would have expected although desk staff apologised. I found the food to be good. Only downside to served meals were occasionally longer waiting. Found sunbeds and parasols were just enough and shade good on beach. Tip for other travellers is take beach shoes to swim as quite a lot of stones.

Special mention to Shane, Zak and Michelle behind the bar who were so helpful and friendly and don't miss out on Michelle's rum tasting experience which in 3 words was educational, entertaining and fun! Also big thanks to Shaniqua on the front desk who was really helpful throughout our stay. Would definetly come back to this hotel we had a great holiday there. The view from our room on the 3rd floor looking out to the ocean was amazing and you are so close to the sea, beautiful.

May I first say The SoCo has the most fabulous position overlooking the Sea The staff were pleasant and helpful Rooms dated but clean great big comfortable beds and clean towels and bedding Food and drinks very acceptable The only issues we had were The Rat problem needs addressing no reason why Vermin control cannot be taken more seriously No courtesy rooms on check out at all. This is simply not good enough. Spending all day in 30 degrees heat and no shower facilities takes the edge off the holiday and there is simply no excuse to keep saying the hotel is full. There should be availability for this all the time The shower facilities in the rooms need updating as majority of the time the water is cold and the systems were very outdated

We were recommended The Soco Hotel by our friends who had stayed there the previous year and it did not disappoint! What a great find! Location: close to shops and bars, not far from the airport and last but definitely not least, ON THE BEACH!!!! with breath-taking seaviews. Room: Very spacious! Very comfortable bed and pillows! The air con was great, which we really needed with the humidity. You could hear the occasional honk of horns from the road but nothing that disturbed us. The bathroom was also fairly big with a decent shower, towels and toiletries. The coffee machine in the room was lush and produced some great tasting fresh coffee! The view from the balcony was something else and after taking hundreds of photo's, I never tire looking back through them! Pool/Beach: Both the sea and the pool were like stepping into a bath! We found there were ample sunbeds and the pool was maintained daily. Only a short distance from the bar to the beach so no problem popping up for a cocktail as and when! We also had waiter service to the beach some of the time as well which was a bonus Food: AMAZING !!!!!!! Huge choice of breakfast from the menu and you could have as much or as little as you liked. Eggs Benedict was my favourite (which I had 3 times during our 7 night stay as they were so good!) Lunch and Dinner was from a 3 course menu with 3 choices for each course. This was changed every 2 days so there was plenty of variation. We skipped lunch a few times as we were too full from breakfast! The wine in the restaurant was really good too. All of the food is cooked to order so is hot and fresh when it gets to the table. Because of this, there was the occasional slightly longer waiting time (maybe 2 or 3 times over the entire 7 night stay) but the wine was flowing and as the food was so good, it was always worth the extra time. Cocktails and spirits all fab! Staff: Nothing was too much trouble. Always helpful and obliging. This hotel is not like other All-Inclusives as it is much smaller but we really liked this due to the personal touches and friendliness of the staff and the other guests. You can choose to mingle or to just relax on your own. We recommend the Island Safari tour. We got to see all of the island and we did some "off-roading" in the jeep with Wayne (who certainly knows his stuff and is totally bonkers, but we loved him!!). Whilst all of the staff are great, with a particular mention to Shayne behind the bar, the icing on the cake for this hotel is of course Michelle !!! She never stops smiling! We particularly loved her Rum Tasting session at 10am !! She knows everything you need to know about everything in Barbados. It's like having a personal holiday planner on tap. She is such a huge credit to this hotel and is the one of the main reasons we cannot wait to return! If I am being really really picky, the only suggestion I would have is to add Prosecco to the All-inclusive drinks. It was only served on the Managers Cocktail evening (once a week and the night we arrived so didn't really know the set up then) and it would of been nice to enjoy another glass at other times during the stay.

Priceless views, great value at a beautiful all inclusive. This staff goes above and beyond every day: Aside from typical American entitled customers that feel the need to “claim” their pool lounge chairs daily it’s a great place!

Firstly i would like to acknowledge the great staff - Michelle & Shane from the (Bar) Sheba & Clive from the (restaurant) these guys were very accommodating and helpful always happy to help....Some really great staff....Now onto the not so good bits- 1) Lack of sunbeds total 14 but on the last day the hotel bought more but still not enough to accommodate!! 2) The amount of RATS around the Hotel was very off putting we saw at least 5-6 every night / More RAT control needed. 3) NO fresh fruit ONLY at breakfast and that was chopped up...all drinks were made with syrup (We only got Banana's for a couple of days but they grow them on the island? Didn't make sense... 4) No COFFEE machine for a Cappuccino we were told they had a machine but couldn't work it and the PODS were to expensive. 5) NO cold drinks in the room fridge (ALL INCLUSIVE) ?? 6) Water & Coke at the bar were always warm (Not in the fridge) 7) Breakfast menu didn't change for 14 days...More choice would of been good! 8) The menu changed every 2 days but on one Occasion changed after 3 days!! 9) NO bathrobes in the rooms also NO shower Gel or Shampoo. 10) NO Shaving Mirror which would be useful. 11) Rooms were NOT cleaned every day the floor was washed and maybe bed change, but towels were NOT. 12) The sunbed towels are very old and tired they need changing for sure and the SOCO HOTEL is written in marker pen on both the sunbed & room towels which looks very unprofessional. 13) Rooms and hallways are very tired looking and could do with modernization. Its such a shame as this hotel is in a great location has some amazing Staff and really has the potential to be an GREAT holiday destination, i feel the management really need to focus on improvements as they are behind other countries i have visited....the attention to detail makes a happy customer and perhaps a returning customer!! SOCO Management please take NOTE you potentially have a wonderful hotel and could be in the top raking's if you get it right.......

First time in Barbados but travelled to many other countries, both 5 star and back pack. Beach bar staff were exceptional smiling service with personalty, and attention to detail. Well done Michelle and Shane particularly. 10.20 bar closing? could be later? Sun bed issues are unnecessary with proper management and a good ratio of beds to guests. English are always gonna be fussy so cold bottled water is a must. Little tidying of the pool area, long extension wires across the bar.? A few rats didnt bother me but stories of big ones and numerous were around. A huge wallspace at the back of the smoking area is crying out for a mural or advertising the hotel from the boardwalk. Food qualty and preparation made up for lack of menu choice but understandable with the small client base. Small criticism, availability of fresh fruit and nuts plus proper fresh coffee, maybe slightly more vegetables with meals would have made it perfect for me. Rooms could do with proper side tables with a flat surface not a sofa cube. Easily accessed plug sockets,usb plugs?? A bit of a touch up to the paint and rusty areas. So much potential it could be a little goldmine if some of the refinements made people keen to return. Personally Sorry to leave...

Beautiful stay, clean, and friendly staff. The food was wonderful but wish there was a faster option than a sit down meal for 3 meals a day. The showers were NOT warm but the room was spacious and clean. The atmosphere was pleasant. Great place to snorkel.

Great snorkeling on the beach. They do have loungers at the beach as well as at the pool. Food was great and changed every 2 days. I would definitely stay again.

Shane and the bar staff were all cheerful. All the staff were lovely and kind. Get a high floor room if you can. Downsides - no lift, very few accessible plug sockets in room, too few sunbeds and of poor quality. But none of these things would put us off returning.

We stayed for 5 nights prior to a cruise on Royal Clipper. We had stayed at the hotel in 2018 and so knew the layout. For accessibility reasons, I emailed the hotel beforehand to request a room on the same level as reception to minimise stairs, and this was provided....

We stayed for 5 nights prior to a cruise on Royal Clipper. We had stayed at the hotel in 2018 and so knew the layout. For accessibility reasons, I emailed the hotel beforehand to request a room on the same level as reception to minimise stairs, and this was provided. On arrival, we had a lovely welcome from Linda on reception. Check-in was quick and simple, with a glass of fizz, and our luggage was taken to our room. One of the housekeeping staff had to show us that one remote was to switched on the TV and the other was to change channels, etc. An information leaflet or booklet in the room would be useful to explain this, plus a list of the available TV channels and also that the telephone could be used to make free local calls. In 2018 we were upgraded to the room behind the reception desk which benefitted from the shower room being between the bedroom and the street, and so muffling noise. Having read reviews commenting on loud early morning noise from the road, I took earplugs. However we really heard little, and it certainly didn’t disturb us. In fact the bed was so comfy, I wished I could have taken it home. Our room was well looked after by Truly, who kept us supplied with English Breakfast tea! Previous reviews had also mentioned the shortage of sunbeds. We had no trouble getting beds by the pool in the morning on our first day, but could not help notice that a couple reserved beds opposite us with their belongings, and did not go near them until late afternoon. The same couple had beds on the beach and also monopolised one of the tables and chairs. On our last day, some ladies did have the courage to remove the couple’s belongings, much to their annoyance when they eventually returned. Hurrah! However, the hotel should take a firmer line on this. It wasn’t a surprise that we needed to book a time for dinner each day, but sometimes the staff responsible for this could be less than friendly. Although the meal choices can appear limited at first glance, the waitresses are happy to take requests for amendments to the kitchen. This was particularly evident at breakfast where the menu options look fixed, but are in fact, very flexible. Rayna and Sheqila were both happy, smiley and friendly waitresses and we looked forward to being served by them. Unfortunately one waitress (wore glasses) let the hotel down; we never knew her name as she just mumbled grudgingly at us. Shane and Zach were wonderful, friendly and efficient bar tenders. Shane’s “special” rum punch was a particular favourite. We missed Michelle’s rum tasting in 2018 and so made sure we were there for it this year. We were joined by only 2 other couples, which was disappointing, but she still made it fun and we were able to taste some very different rums. Last, but certainly not least, we cannot praise Shaniqua highly enough. My partner was experiencing some chest congestion and, on checking out, I just happened to ask whether the pharmacy would be likely to sell inhalers. In the UK, a doctor’s prescription would be needed. Without any prompting, she rang the pharmacy at the supermarket and arranged for me to collect one. That was truly amazing service. To conclude, almost all the staff had the Soco Hotel are friendly, helpful and efficient. Coupled with an amazing location, we can recommend this hotel to those who want a small, quiet and child-free holiday.

We visited Soco hotel to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. Our room was clean, balcony overlooking pool area and sea view. Some areas look a little tired but this did not detract from the comfort of the hotel. All staff were welcoming and friendly. Unfortunately on day 2 my wife fell whilst walking in local area and broke her ankle. All staff at hotel were remarkable. We were assisted to local urgent care, and when we returned to hotel were moved to a ground floor room. Complimentary room service was offered, and mini fridge in room was stocked with beverages. We cannot thank the staff enough for the 5 star treatment we both received. We cannot list all names of staff as we do not want to leave anyone out. We cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. Food was to a very high standard, and staff catered to my wife’s coeliac disease. Pool area was clean, however more sunbeds would be a great idea. Pool was clean and never busy. Bar staff were incredible and always greated people with a smile. Restaurant managers and waiting staff went above and beyond everyday. We will return in the future, this time we hope for a more relaxing holiday and no broken bones.

The views are spectacular, as is the food with a menu that changes every two days I will certainly miss this when we go home. The staff and some in particular have become friends now and the service that they give you is exceptional. Special mention must go to the beautiful Michelle, her rum tasting session on Wednesday mornings is so much fun and you will get to meet a lot of the other guests. Michelle not only brings a smile and a professionalism to The Soco, but she goes above and beyond booking trips and taxis and dinners in places at all difficult to get into if you want to venture out. She is truly exceptional. We must also mention Shane and Zak and Kayla who are just the best. The ladies in the restaurant are wonderful always happy to help and smiling. Thanks too to the Linda on reception very helpful with our room booking for next year. The Soco is a place that may not be polished and perfect, but what it lacks in small details is more than made up by the friendliness, the views, the smiling people that work here and the way they make you feel like part of the family. This is the reason we come back time after time . We have tried other hotels on the island so we can compare them but we return to The Soco. Couple of tips. Try Champers for a special evening meal. Book well in advance. Bring some Dreamies for Toby the cat. He’s adorable.

Fantastic little hotel, adults only. Advertised as all inclusive but more full board including drinks as each meal was a proper dining experience, being seated and choosing from a menu that changed every couple of days. Food was excellent quality and although we did eat out the food in the hotel was much tastier and if you wanted more you only had to ask. The poolside bar staff were fantastic - shoutout to Michelle, Shane and Zak!! - with a great rum tasting experience once a week and good cocktail list. Previous reviews had mentioned road noise when in your room but once the air con was on it wasn’t a problem. Lovely little beach with a sheltered swimming area plus sun loungers and umbrellas provided. Great local bars and restaurants close by if you fancied a bit of a change and located right at the start of the boardwalk, if you fancied a stroll.

The rum tasting with Michelle was amazing! Inclusive, funny and we were all singing by the end. Highly recommend, the location and beach are outstanding.

Simply Amazing. This is the best stay we have had in Barbados without doubt. I've read the negative reviews about the hotel and I can understand the points people are making about it not being true All Inclusive, that there is no lift, and that sometimes there are drinks that aren't available - but this is Barbados... It's a small Island with an ever increasing tourist population and they rely on Rum and fishing, so if you don't like Rum and you don't like fish.... We arrived at the hotel and knew it was going to be small and intimate - we were the only guests at reception so check in was swift. We were offered a glass of champagne whilst we went through formalities and then it was time to go to the room. There is no lift. I repeat, there is no lift. We were on floor 4 (top) in room 401 and our luggage was carried up to the room for us by the security staff - walking 4 flights wasn't difficult and to be honest it became a welcome relief to at least get some exercise after eating the wonderful meals and sampling the beverages on offer at the bar. Our room was very spacious, had all of the provisions we required, and was extremely clean. The hot water provided in the room is heated by solar so there is no temperature control on the shower - you get what comes from the tap - sometimes this can be hot, other times (if it's all been used by other guests) it can be quite cool. It never caused us an issue as we knew how the system worked so managed our shower times around it. A cool shower after a day in the baking sun is sometimes a nice relief. Food is served from 7am - 10am, 12pm-3pm, 6:30pm - 8:30pm, there is also afternoon tea from 3:30pm - 4:30pm but never saw anyone participate. Food is provided on a menu basis, the breakfast menu never changes but gives you options of fresh fruit, porridge, yoghurt, granola, Bajan offerings, omelettes, all manner of egg options, basically enough to satiate any hungry traveller. Lunch and dinner are again provided via a menu but the menu changes every two days. The food prepared is very good and extremely fresh. There are dishes which contain bones (Oxtail, chicken) but doesn't detract from the dish - it's just their way of preparing the meal. If you can manage a desert after a starter and main then they're just as good. We even introduced Affogato to the staff by taking their wonderful Rum Raisin ice cream, asking for a very strong coffee and a healthy shot of Mount Gay Eclipse from the bar. The staff were intrigued but boy what a great desert. I'd like to call out Shane (bar tender), Trudy (room management/cleaning), and Michelle (bar and rum tasting). I couldn't fault any of the staff, always helpful, always smiling, and always willing to provide the best experience possible. Treat the staff with respect and courtesy and it is reciprocated 10 fold. Some drinks did run out in the bar - but they were replenished as quickly as deliveries could be made - it's a small hotel and sometimes the guests hit the bar hard when the party mood kicked in - it was never an issue, we just switched to something else or breathed a sigh of relief that we'd be spared a hangover :) Michelle organised a rum tasting session - Wednesday morning at 10:30am. Oh boy what an experience. The bar was packed - we were all singing and laughing, everyone got to know each other and in general it really helped build relationships between the guests at the hotel. The pool is quite small but never got busy and the loungers with parasols offer plenty of shade. The beach is quite small and there isn't much room for loungers. There are a few stones in the shallows but the man made reefs just offshore offer calm waters to wallow in and an abundance of aquatic life for the avid snorkeller. My wife and I introduced Spicy Margaritas to the bar staff repertoire - and these were taken aplenty by other guests willing to try the new tipple. As said in my opening to this review, this was the best stay we've had in Barbados. It is what you make it. Roll with the shortcomings, enjoy the fact that you're in one of the friendliest countries in the Caribbean, the Weather is amazing, you're on holiday, and the staff are working with what they have. The other guests also make it an enjoyable experience, mingle, chat, share stories, enjoy the rum, and be merry. We met some of the loveliest, most pleasant people we could have hoped to holiday with. We were really sorry to leave - but we'll be back.

I dont know where to start. From the moment we walked in to check in we were impressed. Linda the receptionist was so friendly and helpful. She offered us a glass of champagne while we checked in and Jeff was so kind to take our bags yo our room. The room was just like the pictures & very clean. I feel like we had the best room Room 102) as its patio was right off the pool area and steps away from the a dining area. Speaking of the dining area... the food was excellent and that says a lot coming from the wife of a cook. The menu changed every 2 days and every meal was better than the last. The staff Kim and Samantha were always so sweet. Kim also does the most amazing massages. Make sure to book an in-room massage with her while you're there. The bartenders Michelle & Gene, I think his name was, at the pool were also awesome. I also have to mention there are steps off the pool area that lead to the beach and the boardwalk. There was another receptionist who helped us choose excursions I think her name was Sharika. She picked two great ones and also arranged our transportation to the airport. We were celebrating our 10th anniversary so one of the kitchen managers presented us with a complimentary bottle of bubbly! How thoughtful. I know this is a long review but I can't say enough great things about this place. They truly made our anniversary trip a memorable one.

If you are staying at The Soco Hotel in Christ Church, Bridgetown, do not miss the rum-tasting experience — (only on Wednesday mornings; prepare yourself!) It was easily one of the absolute highlights of our entire trip! The people that surrounded us during this full house, tasty experience, were from all parts of the world, and it was a sensational experience, meeting, such diverse and wonderful people all at the same time! They assigned us names for our drinking teams! We were the “RumBuggers” lol It was an absolute hoot! From the moment we stepped in, the atmosphere felt like pure Caribbean magic. Our host, Michelle, was an absolute star — warm, funny, knowledgeable, and she kept the whole room laughing, singing, and savoring every moment. We even sang the classic “Day-O, daylight come and we want to go home”… except in our version it became, “Daylight come and we want another rum!” The Rums We Fell in Love With: – Eclipse Rum – Smooth, balanced, and beautifully crafted. – Diamond White – Crisp, clean, refreshing… honestly perfect. – Coconut White Rum – Hands down one of the best flavored rums we’ve ever tasted. And then… the finale. The VIP Dark Rum (The “Top Match”): They brought out their special deep, dark VIP rum — and wow. This one had a bold, rich aroma, a serious bite on the way down, and then suddenly this incredible warm, aromatic finish that lingered beautifully. It was the kind of rum that makes you silently nod your head and go, “Yep… that’s the one.” The Experience Itself: Between the music, the history, the laughter, and the generosity of the tasting, we felt like part of a family. It wasn’t just a rum lesson — it was a memory we’ll be bringing home with us. Michelle deserves a special shoutout for being such a fantastic guide. She truly made the whole experience unforgettable. If you’re visiting Barbados, do not skip this rum tasting at The Soco Hotel. Fun, flavorful, and absolutely unforgettable. We came for a taste… and left wanting a bottle!

Michelle Rum Tasting brings together all hotel guests to have some fun and laughs, tasting some of the best rums we’ve ever tasted. We all had a blast. My partner and I stayed here from 14 October for 2 glorious weeks. We absolutely loved it! Great location all rooms have a fantastic sea view and are spotless thanks to the lovely Trudy our friendly bubbly housekeeper. The food is amazing and all staff are so friendly and can’t do enough for you, a massive thank you to our little pocket rocket Michelle who not only hosted brilliant rum tasting sessions she also organised all our trips for us and trust me she went above and beyond even organising a trip for us that is not normally done but she has contacts 😂 The boys behind the bar Shane and Zak always so happy and excellent at what they do We normally do bigger all inclusives but loved the personal touch this hotel brings We will definitely be back we miss you all so much thank you all for making our holiday so special we love you all💜💜💜
