Feeling you are a valued guest is increasingly diminishing but not at Six Senses Laamu. The staff and the island itself are the stars of the show together with one of the best spas in the world. This was our second trip and will not be our last. If you have any doubts about booking a trip here, don’t.

My wife and I had the most incredible stay at Laamu in Feb 2025. Laamu is a magical place, from the moment you remove your shoes in the boat transfer from the seaplane to putting them back on on your way home. The island itself and the reefs and crystal clear waters around it are stunning, the villas beautifully and tastefully designed, the restaurants many and varied and the food fantastic (we'd recommend trying the Sunken Table and the Maldivian menu cooked by chef Isse, amongst many others). There's lots to do, if that's what you want, from snorkelling, to diving (great house reef, very professional diving setup and team, Kush a wonderful dive instructor), to surfing (Brooke and Angus great), to windsurfing, kitesurfing, stand up paddleboarding and seabobs. But it's also the friendly and helpful staff which make the experience. Our GEM, Shah, was wonderful as our point of contact throughout our stay, and always available for any requests or help with a smile and a wave. We have amazing memories of Laamu and the people there - go, you won't regret it.

Paradise! Of course, as it's the Maldives, but here they have thought of everything! From the wonderful welcome from our GEM Shah who first took us to get ice cream (you have to try the goat's cheese and orange marmalade, sounds weird but is incredible!) and then showed us round the island, to the heavenly villa with pool, outdoor bathroom, huge bed and fluffy pillows, to the amazing restaurants serving exceptional food, the bikes with your initials, yours for the week, and the beaches, house reef and all the activities, there was nothing missing and all fantastic! The service was great, they even had a hamper set up in our villa by the time we arrived with essentials, sarongs and t shirts as one of our bags was left at Heathrow by the airline. All the waiters, bar staff, chefs (shout out for Tepanyaki chef, Irfan) cleaners, dive team (Kush), surfing team (Brooke) were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. We snorkelled on the reef and sea grass, saw everything there was to see (no manta rays here in February, only between October and December apparently, which would have been nice to have known before but didn't detract) including huge turtles, rays, sharks and millions of colourful fish of all sizes. We dived three times, amazing, varied with great boat, equipment and team. We surfed off the beach, great fun, safe and entertaining! We dined alone at the sunken table, candles, heart shaped lights and brilliant Maldivian food under the stars. We watched a film at the Cinema under the Stars with popcorn and drinks, we walked around the island, we ordered breakfast in the villa, we ate our heart out at the breakfast buffet, we tried wonderful smoothies, green juices, fresh herbs from the garden, went to the gym overlooking the white beach and the reef. And we lazed around at the Chill Bar (delicious Dusk cocktail!) watching the dolphins coming back into the lagoon at sunset. And we returned feeling healthy and happy. They really have thought of everything! The fact there are no other resorts around makes it feel even more special and chatting with the staff, so many of whom grew up on the local islands, leaves you with a real appreciation of their amazing world. A world of no shoes! Heaven. Would definitely return...

Amazing homemade ice cream and sorbet on demand with 40 or more flaws, Riq the experience manager incredible / super thoughtful and attentive. Barefoot experience the whole trip made it very relaxing. Diving and house snorkeling reef exceptional

Every worked very well and the staff were wonderful. A perfect 10 days especially away from a very cold and grey UK. The food was excellent and our villa spectacular. Riding around on bicycles was wonderful. No other islands too close.

I am writing this review while packing my luggage to return to Six Senses Laamu for our 4th stay… the third one was… 3 months ago… somehow this place has become a magnet and a reference for our stays worldwide. We often say “it’s lovely.. but it’s not Six Senses”....

I am writing this review while packing my luggage to return to Six Senses Laamu for our 4th stay… the third one was… 3 months ago… somehow this place has become a magnet and a reference for our stays worldwide. We often say “it’s lovely.. but it’s not Six Senses”. If you are expecting marble bathrooms, gold handles and crystal chandeliers: don’t come. If you have taste, by all means, DO! SSL is more than just a vacation spot: it’s a place of calm, a set of mind and one needs to take time and to make time to do what makes their soul happy. We have been to a substantial number of different resorts in the Maldives, but SSL became THE reference standard in all aspects. And frankly, we have not found better and probably won’t. SSL deserves many superlatives for the reef, island, accommodation, service and food. Many reviews describe how great those features are. But above those things, what distinguishes SSL from other outstanding islands is the people who work there. It’s a very fine mix of professionalism and humanness that makes the whole difference. This review would be too long if I name each and every person that has made our stays exceptional and now that I’ll be back in a few days, I am looking forward to see their smiles! First and foremost, I would like to mention our pluri stay GEM Hamzath: he was our discrete but omnipresent and especially omnipotent host and it saddens us a lot that he has moved on and we won’t see him again, but we wish him lots of success in his new challenges. His successor has very big shoes to fill! Another wonderful person and flawless professional is Naail. I have rarely seen such a devoted, humble yet qualified and efficient employee! Even on the nights when he was working for a different restaurant than where we were dining, he would pass by our table on his way to the kitchen, say hello and swiftly top up our water. After observing our preferences for 1-2 mornings, he would bring what we always had by default: no need to ask! This guy deserves to wear blue!!! And I am on my way to check and I sincerely hope that he does now!!! Nick is one of the coolest bartenders: very skillful and attentive! He offered us some great moments! Mina: we got to know this wonderful person only at the end of our previous stay, but kept contact and he’s been exceptionally helpful, professional and available. Divia, Hansar, Mahid, Saleem, Shaani, Alif, Siri, Niaz, Hassan, Zian, Schahu, Katu and Amir, all these people and many others go above and beyond to make your experience unforgettable! All these employees are incredible assets to the Company and they make for the most of what Six Senses Laamu is: a home away from home!

這次跟老公在six senses laamu待了4個晚上，大概是我人生中住過最特別也是最高級的villa! 前兩個晚上我們入住的是sunset water villa，這是我第一次住水上屋，非常喜歡他們都是茅草跟木頭還有透明玻璃地板等等的設計，非常大自然也非常喜歡！這個房間可以在房間裡看日落🌅而後兩晚入住laamu water villa with pool 房間整體除了多了一個大泳池以外就是陽台的空間更大了一點然後可以從淋浴間走到泳池然後可以在床上看到太陽從海平面升起很漂亮😻渡假村整體就如同google上評價一樣好甚至更好，不論是餐廳飲品酒還是服務人員態度都非常好！這次的GEM是Abdulla，他非常細心也很專業，幫我們規劃了四天的行程，而有什麼問題找他他都可以處理的很好也很即時！ 島上的浮潛是對新手友善的，有深海的也有沙灘，甚至有深潛！可以依照自己的需要參加！總之五天四夜真的太少了，大家來了一定會愛上！島上基本上都說英文所以如果英文不太好的人可能要再想想～對了最重要的一點是有免費吃到飽的手工冰淇淋還有48種口味可以吃到爽真的很適合ice cream lover😍 天氣很好很舒服海風吹了不會黏黏的還有渡假村的環境生態維護的非常好👍🏻還有一個專門讓大家認識海洋生態等等的Sell 如此注重生態保育的地方也很適合帶小朋友來

Six senses Laamu is truly a very special place, we will always treasure our first time here and hold a special memory in our hearts. A big thank you to our GEM Riq who was so kind and always happy to help us with our dinner reservations and trips, he made our holiday so much easier and basically ‘just perfect! ‘ Thank you to Saleem who always made everything fresh and clean in our sea villa. All the staff were so kind and helpful in the restaurants and bar areas., I remember faces and also the chef who kindly shared his recipe, the food was sensational and I am definitely missing my fresh brain booster coffee!! A big shout out to the dedicated work and research the marine biologist do, I have told everyone at home about the seagrass!! I really hope one day we get to come back. Thank you 🙏

Our holiday at Six Senses Laamu has been the most fantastic experience. Everything about the resort - the location, accommodation, facilities and restaurants are all first class. The house reef is full of the most beautiful fish and we were lucky to see rays and turtles as well. However, what made our experience the most memorable was the staff at the resort. Our GEM, Maftuna, was brilliant. Always available and happy to arrange everything we needed. She was a delight and we will remember her happy smile. We should also mention Nick at Sip Sip, Hassan, the restaurant manager, Joe at the Shell and Hisan at Zen - fantastic hosts and a pleasure to get to know. Really all the staff we met were friendly and professional and totally dedicated to ensuring their guests enjoyed their holiday. Thank you Six Senses - we would love to come back one day.

Our honeymoon at Six Senses Laamu was pure magic. The resort blends barefoot luxury with stunning nature, offering the perfect mix of adventure and relaxation. The food was exceptional, with every meal a fresh and flavorful delight. The entire staff was warm and welcoming, making us feel truly at home. We stayed at Six Senses Laamu for our honeymoon and we're not disappointed with our choice. We had one glorious week there where we experienced the most incredible dives, stunning snorkeling and delicious food. Special mention to our dive guide, Erika, who taught me my open water PADI skills. She was extremely nurturing and calming and made the whole experience a joy! Our Villa, a Laamu Water Villa with pool, was perfection with views over crystal blue water and vivid sunrises. We could watch fish, sharks, sting rays and turtles from the comfort of our balcony! Finally, the staff are incredibly warm and welcoming- each taking the time and effort to learn our names and make sure everything was perfect for our stay. Our host, Shah, was particularly attentive and kind. He gave us tips and updates each day and saw to our every need during our stay. I cannot wait to come back!

Where do I start what an amazing holiday everything you see in there amazing glossy holiday brochures which gets you there doesn’t come close to what you see and experience, truly amazing. It was unbelievably the staff were incredible friendly, attentive and Fahuhd our Gem made our holiday seamless. The food outstanding and delicious and dinning on the water wow! Accomodation doesn’t get much better than living on the water, views unbelievable jumping of the verandah to swim with turtles stunning reef fish anytime of the day or lay out on the lounge beds if you have time! The house reef you can swim onto in 1 minute unbelievable and a stunning reef of coral and reef fish you get to watch another world down there. Definitely a holiday we will never ever forget and highly recommend. Thank you Six Senses Michael

A5 star GEM Ina 5 star resort. The only downfall of this fantastic stay was the speed of the internet. It is not up to the level of all the facilities the resort offers. Everything is wonderful with the only exception being that will have difficulties doing video confs, streaming, etc The water villas are really superb and the breakfast is unbelievable.

One of the best resorts I’ve ever been to - all the details were immaculate. The island itself is heaven, the food is amazing and the diving is epic. Really couldn’t recommend it more. Huge thanks for Shah who looked after us while we were there.

Everything was perfect. Premises, location, local transportation and stuff. We were first time there and overall impresions are far beyond expectations. Our stay was especially enriched by Faudi, the GEM who was peculiarly caring and attentive, providing us in discretion with everything we needed, organizing things very promptly and effectively....

Everything was perfect. Premises, location, local transportation and stuff. We were first time there and overall impresions are far beyond expectations. Our stay was especially enriched by Faudi, the GEM who was peculiarly caring and attentive, providing us in discretion with everything we needed, organizing things very promptly and effectively. Thanks goes to all stuff that were participating in meal service in all disposable restaurants and diving center, watersports center, main pool bar stuff, as well as villa housekeeper. All of mentioned will be strong issue to get back soon, and share our experience with our friends encouraging them to visit such wonderful site. Beautiful wellness and spa with yoga pavilion not to be forgotten as well.

The whole place was amazing from the Gem, staff accommodation and food. I would highly recommend if you want a laid back friendly island nothing was too much bother. Definitely upgrade to the high food and drink package as it will be expensive paying individual for stuff.

I’ve been to some stunning 5* hotels over the last 10-15 years and I was expecting to feel a lack of value for money after visiting Laamu…..I couldn’t have been more wrong! The island was absolute perfection, spotless from end to end, the service was world class, food was truly memorable and we never felt bored (our main concern coming into 8 days on a beach!). Maftuna was our GEM (Guest Experience Manager) and nothing was too much to ask, she planned our days, arranged a dinner on the beach and so much more, we didn’t have to lift a finger. It’s not cheap, but it’s a once in a lifetime holiday which we’ll remember forever.

Six Senses Laamu was the perfect place to spend our honeymoon. Everything about this resort is truly exceptional. From the moment you arrive, it’s clear how much thought has gone into every detail—whether it’s choosing from a long list of pillows for your bed or discovering your personalized initials on your guest bike. The island feels like your own private paradise—stunning, peaceful, and easy to get around. What really sets this resort apart, though, is the staff. Every single person we interacted with was incredibly kind, warm, and genuinely invested in making our stay special. That brings me to Faudi, our GEM (Guest Experience Manager), who was truly outstanding. From organizing our dinners and excursions to responding almost instantly to any request, he made sure we were always taken care of. Beyond that, he’s simply a great person—we loved getting to know him and appreciated the personal touches, like the beautiful honeymoon welcome he arranged in our villa. If there’s one challenge at Six Senses Laamu, it’s choosing what not to do. There are so many amazing activities—especially in the water—that we easily could’ve stayed a week longer just to try it all. An unforgettable experience in every way.

Staying at Six Senses Laamu has been the most incredible experience ever! Six Senses really practices what they preach on wellness and their ‘sixth sense’ which is balance in everything they do. During the 6D5N my husband and I stayed with them, we have felt the most welcome and sincere service. Everyone seems genuinely happy to be there, to interact with you and to make sure you have the best stay ever. There are too many names to shout out as they all have provided amazing service. However, our GEM, Riq, was highly responsive and attentive the whole trip and always ensured our needs and requests were met! I’d like to particularly highlight the conservation efforts done by the MUI team which has honestly made the house reefs the most incredible reefs right at the resort’s door step. The snorkelling here alone is worth the stay! The SHELL and sustainability tour gives a unique insight as to how the resort operates and all the work they have done for the environment which is so commendable and appreciated. The food throughout was of high quality and impeccable standards and we particularly enjoyed our food at the Leaf restaurant. All in all, I can’t sing enough praises about this place and truly hope I can be back for another stay soon!

It is a true divers paradise, right down to the teeny tiny details like the nudibranch shaped hooks in the rooms!! If you know, you know! 🤿 But the diving isn’t the only reason we return, it’s the people! From the incredible GM & dive team (who we now call friends) to the GEM’s! This time around we were looked after Riq, who went above and beyond everyday! No matter your question or whatever you needed he would be there! Thanks guys and see you soon!
