Another great stay at Scrub Island. We’ve stayed here 4 times over the years and love ending our BVI sailing trips here with a night or two in a hotel. The staff here is excellent! From Mellow at the marina docks to the amazing staff at Cardamon restaurant to the bell staff - they all make you feel welcome and like family. As other reviews have stated the rooms are starting to get a little tired and in need of a refresh, but that didn’t affect our stay at all. We love it here and can’t wait to come back!

From the moment we arrived, our trip was plagued with issues. We specifically chose this resort because it offered a couples' romantic bliss package and we wanted a luxury experience. The sunset dinner we booked had to be canceled because the staff member we communicated with months in advance had left, and there were not enough staff to coordinate our date, despite following up with the concierge days before and being told to wait until the day of to get more info. I had planned to propose to my partner during the dinner. Ultimately we were only compensated the cost of the dinner which didn't feel appropriate. This highlighted ongoing communication issues where no one seemed to be able to confirm details about our stay such as: * breakfast times or how to redeem our breakfast meal tickets * calls to front desk would often ring with no one picking up * having to be transferred several times when ordering room service We also had to hound staff daily for coffee and bottled water which were only given during morning service and won't happen if you use the do-not-disturb sign. One of the days, we only received decaf. Staff issues aside, there were problems with the room: * dead bedroom/couch outlets forcing us to charge electronics at the one working living room side table * refrigerator had broken ice maker and rusty drawers * difficulty reaching coffee mugs due to poor placement over the kitchen counter and inability to fully open the cabinet door due placement near the range hood. Housekeeping would also return them to the same location each night during turndown. * curtains were incredibly hard to move and don't fully retract. Instead of a pull cord, they had to be physically yanked aside in the tract, and we ultimately had to crawl underneath them to access the balcony due to them stopping in the opening. * one of the windows was completely missing a handle which made it impossible to close from the inside This room had just been renovated. The old furniture and mattresses were sitting outside our door for the majority of our stay. The resort jacuzzi was also lukewarm and barely produced bubbles. The staff informed us that was the hottest it got. As mentioned in another review, you will have multiple credit holds placed against your card. Prices for special events (i.e. dinner tasting and Christmas festival) had varying quotes based on which part of the website you saw them mentioned, and were drastically different from the final bill. This makes it very confusing when trying to understand what you actually owe. In the end, the price you're expected to pay for what you get makes all of these issues inexcusable. Complaints aside, the view and the spa were great.

My husband and I stayed at Scrub Island Resort for 3 nights in January 2024. We had an absolutely wonderful time. Were welcomed with a lovely cocktail when we arrived and we were escorted to our room after we checked-in. We spent the first day relaxing in and at the adult pool overlooking the marina. Was a perfect afternoon. The second day was spent at the private beach on the island. We enjoyed good food and drinks and the service was great. We also enjoyed the pool by the beach. The third day we took an all-day tour to Virgin Gorda from Scrub and had a blast. The food on the island was good. Breakfasts were the best. We ate at both Donovan’s Reef and Cardamom and Co. When we go next, we would probably just dine at Donovan’s Reef. Some live music in the evenings was really the only thing we felt was missing on our visit there. After dinner, we spent the evenings walking around and enjoying the night sky. It’s a very peaceful place. It was for us anyways. While we enjoyed our 3 nights there, a 4th would’ve been nice. Our room was beautiful. We had no issues. The staff were friendly, mostly (the staff at dinner in Cardamom and Co were a bit unfriendly). We enjoyed the servers at breakfast a lot. We plan to visit Scrub again someday.

What a gem! Magnificent property, spacious well equipped rooms, excellent amenities and staff, high quality restaurants, perfect stop on your bareboat charter, or in our case, home base prior to and after our charter. Really a standout in the BVI!

This was on of my favorite places to go, but they left Marriott Bonvoy group and are now way overpriced for other properties in the in the area to chose from. So sad they chose this path . Maybe with enough comments they will reconsider. Love the BVIs but will...

We had a fantastic time at Scrub Island. From the moment we stepped out of the airport, we were greeted by a scrub island driver, and taken to their private Ferry. After a quick ferry ride over, we were greeted with rum punch, given an overview of the property and taken to our room. We were exhausted from our trip, so we decided to take a nap. Because we arrived on a Wednesday, they had a Caribbean buffet with live music and entertainment on the beach. It started with cocktails on the veranda, and then they drove us down to the north beach. The food was delicious. It was absolutely amazing. After dinner we relaxed in the pool which was absolutely beautiful looking out over the water. Every staff member we came in contact with was kind helpful and just amazing. The woman at the gift shop was super fun to talk to and helped us pick out a few items. We had lunch at the restaurant above the pool and it was delicious and ended our trip with a massage at the spa… again amazing. They arranged for us to be transported back to Tortola, and to the next hotel we were staying at before picking up our boat. No request was out of the question. They took care of everything for us. I highly recommend this resort. I can’t wait to go back.

We arrived for our second stay at Scrub Island Resort and were met at the dock by our butler!?! We had booked a suite, but had been upgraded to a villa (which came with butler services). The accommodations were lovely and the service at the hotel and the restaurants was perfect. Our first ever butler, Sadiq (with back-up from his colleagues), went above and beyond to ensure our trip was perfect. The unpleasant shock came after checkout. Not only did the hotel bill us, appropriately, for the charges for our 5 night stay, but they had placed multiple credit holds during the stay. This resulted in our credit card being unusable for ~$5,000. There is still ~$2,000 as a pending charge from Scrub Island, 16 days after checking out. Correspondence with the billing staff was unsatisfying. As I told them, I would have preferred that they billed the five nights lodging charges when we checked in vs. tying up our available credit. I had intended to cc Marriott on my correspondence with the billing staff, but discovered that the Resort had ceased being a Marriott property less than a year before. The experience left a sour taste in my mouth, and I am not sure we will return to Scrub Island Resort.

We celebrated our 25th anniversary and truly received such an incredible welcome. From stepping off the ferry to a complimentary rum punch, to our luggage being taken to our room. Our room was so beautiful and a special arrangement with balloons and hearts adorned our bed. Very special. The pools...

We celebrated our 25th anniversary and truly received such an incredible welcome. From stepping off the ferry to a complimentary rum punch, to our luggage being taken to our room. Our room was so beautiful and a special arrangement with balloons and hearts adorned our bed. Very special. The pools and restaurants are all within a few minutes walk. Fun swim up bars and comfortable lounge chairs were a perfect way to unwind. The views from everywhere are spectacular. There are wonderful hacking trails and every Watersports you could want. The rooms are spacious and well appointed.
