Mrs Pryce and her team did not disappoint. Right from arrival with staff like Deondre and the front desk team the customer service was excellent. The beach can be seen right from the lobby and we enjoyed the red cabanas pool side for meals and relaxing. We had one of the Sky-suites which also had an outstanding sunset view and amenities. Overall there was great food, staff and a different feel from the larger hotels. For those wanting a boutique hotel experience nestled right in Montego Bay S Hotel can’t be beat!

We just returned from 3 nights at this resort after a week’s stay in Negril. This is our second time to Sandals MB. The property is stunning, the beach is beautiful, the water is clear and the food was excellent! We stayed in swim up room 116, and it was a great location. My husband’s only complaint is that he likes a separate living area, which this room didn’t have. Our butlers Raj and Sean did an excellent job taking care of us. We felt that the food was great overall, especially loving our dinners at Tokyo Joe’s, Butch’s and Bayside. We will for sure be back!

This is my wife’s and mine first visit to Jamaica. We are experienced travelers and searched for an all-inclusive, quiet, relaxing, on the beach, reasonably priced resort. We had previously vacationed at larger all-inclusive properties (and that was my first preference); however, I was intrigued with the S Hotel due to its location, smaller size, restaurant options, and positive TripAdvisor reviews. In the interest of full disclosure, I’ve outlined who we are, what we wanted in a resort, and I will try to articulate an objective review of why we selected the S Hotel in order to assist fellow readers with their vacation decision-making. I enjoy vacation planning, especially to a location that I have never visited. When I search for a vacation property, I read TripAdvisor reviews, sort through the good and bad, and use the information from recent contributor stays to make my decisions. One thing that I noticed on TripAdvisor for the S Hotel was the considerable number of brief single contributor 5-star reviews of the property. This immediately caused me to pause and to wonder whether there was some benefit to inviting new contributors to write positive reviews for the S Hotel. I don’t believe there is/was an incentive to write the glowing reviews, so I put these reviews aside and focused on the reviews from contributors with established profiles and multiple reviews on the TripAdvisor site. So here is my review of our five-night Jamaican stay at the S Hotel…. Hotel: The S Hotel is a six-floor boutique hotel with 120 guest rooms (most rooms have a large balcony overlooking the pool and beach). A large rectangular pool is located at the backside of the hotel that overlooks Doctor’s Cove Beach; there is also a small glass-sided plunge pool on Floor 5. The restaurants are located on the ground floor (Rock Steady along with the Buffet), Floor 5 (Jam Rock), and Floor 6 (Roots Rock). Also on the ground floor is a coffee/sweets Café, an evening bar, and a pool bar (not a swim-up bar) with a small seating area with limited food service from an outside grill. There is also a 6th Floor bar (the S Club) that is only open on the weekend. A private, and guarded, portion of Doctor’s Cove Beach is located off the pool area. The beach has attendants that will provide an umbrella and chairs. There is no cost for this service, but remember to tip. The guards keep any unwanted beach vendors away from disrupting one’s valuable beach time. Rooms: The rooms are quite large and spacious. I selected a Skye Suite for several reasons. Primarily, I wanted a high floor with a balcony that would provide views of Montego Bay above any palm trees, which the Sky Suite delivers. Our room was also above any noise from the pool level. As a fyi, the Junior King Suites are the same rooms as the Sky Suite, only located on the lower floors. I would avoid the Mini King Suite as these rooms are small and do not contain a balcony – these are sleeping rooms only. Our King Sky Suite was sufficiently large for two; however, the closet area was unusually tiny containing a short hanging bar and only a small two drawer built-in unit. We needed to use our suitcases as the closet could not contain all our clothing. The shower is gigantic, but IMO, poorly designed and in need of a good steam cleaning. If you are traveling as a group (or couples) and select a double-bedded room, there is only a pulldown shade to close off the bathroom for shower privacy. Additionally, for what it’s worth, there is also a sheer curtain between the bed area and the bathroom area. Overall, our room was clean (save a good shower cleaning), our bed was comfortable, and the best aspect of our room was the balcony (two chairs and a table). The sink area could use a redo with new caulking and fixtures and the room decor could use a freshening up with new furniture and wall art. The property was first opened in 2019, so updates are in order. Restaurants: There are 4 primary restaurant choices with one restaurant being closed daily; the Buffet is open daily. There is only one restaurant that is used for breakfast and lunch, the Buffet. Indoor and outdoor seating is available and plentiful, so we never had to wait for a table. There are designated hours for all meal services (i.e., breakfast, lunch, and dinner). Our daily breakfast options consisted of breads, fruits, pastries, oatmeal, yogurt, sliced meats, and several hot breakfast items including French toast, pancakes, waffles, bacon, sausage, potatoes, fish, and an omelet station. Servers would provide water, coffee, and tea; juice was available on the buffet. The Café was also an extremely popular option for morning protein drinks, smoothies, and specialty coffees/teas/lattes. Lunch was also served from the Buffet and consisted of breads, meats and cheeses for sandwiches/wraps, a salad bar, a tortilla chip bar, a daily soup, and several hot lunch items including steamed vegetables, coconut stew (vegetarian), fish, a jerk protein dish, and sliced pizza. There was also a dessert bar with several different options each day. Servers would provide water, soft drinks, and non-alcoholic beverage service. The pool grill also serves as another lunch option and offered jerk chicken, hamburgers, French fries, and a veggie wrap. The pool bar was nearby and offered a set menu of specialty beverages (try the dirty banana) and a few beer choices. Overall, breakfast and lunch offered an ample variety of fresh food choices. Of note, my wife is a vegetarian (no fish too), and her food choices, especially at lunch, were limited. Vegetarians enjoy more than a salad. There is also no possibility to request special, or specific, meals. Guests are limited to the daily food choices that are being offered on the buffet. Now dinner is complicated. Dinner is served daily from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at 2 of the 3 specialty restaurants. During our stay, one specialty restaurant was closed daily. Reservations are a MUST for each restaurant (i.e., you cannot just show up at one of the restaurants, other than the Buffet, and expect to be seated). The S Hotel does not publish this information: dinner restaurant reservations can be made through the concierge, or via e-mail, or a telephone request, starting Thursday afternoon for the week beginning each Sunday. For our five-night stay, which began on a Sunday, I e-mailed the S Hotel and requested a dinner reservation for 7 PM at each restaurant the Thursday before we arrived. Not knowing which restaurant was going to be open, the resort staff booked our restaurants with dining times and advised me when I arrived on-site of our dinner dates and times. Jam Rock, the Italian restaurant, provided our best dinners. The entrée selections did not change for any of the restaurants during our stay and consisted of a 2 or 3 appetizer choices, a soup/salad, several entrée choices, and several dessert choices. You ordered all dining choices at one time. Although some guests have suggested that food portions were small, I found portions to be plenty. Ordering more than one appetizer/entree option is refrained. Although Roots Rock seemed to be a popular choice among the hotel guests, due to its Jamaican cuisine, it was my least favorite restaurant as I found the entrée options to be heavily spiced. Rock Steady, the seafood restaurant, was the most visually upscale with a pianist providing dinner music. All menus contained a single vegetarian entrée item (which was not fish), but the kitchen staff were not able to prepare, or make any modifications to any of the entrees, which was disappointing. The Buffet dinner was much like breakfast and lunch. Soup, breads, salad, several hot dinner items with a protein, usually a jerk prepared protein, fish, streamed vegetables, a coconut stew, and a dessert bar. I enjoyed going for a late dessert in the Café. Plenty of delicious dessert items along with several ice cream flavors – it is worth checking out. Pool and Beach: The pool area is genuinely nice with lounge chairs surrounding the pool and comfortable cabanas on the pool perimeter. All seating is first come, first serve. While I did see some guests “saving” specific pool locations, there were always available lounge chairs and pool cabanas. Pool servers walk about inquiring if you would like a bar drink. We are beach people, and the beach area is great. A sizable portion of the Doctor’s Cove Beach is exclusive to only S Hotel guests. Beach attendants will place a beach umbrella and 2 lounge chairs for you and although there is no cost for the service, a few dollars in tip are certainly anticipated. The rest of the beach is open to the public and to cruise ship guests, but the beach never really became overcrowded. There are also a couple of almond trees on the beach; the beach sand is course. Once you get into the water, the sandy bottom is hard packed, and it gets deep quickly. Ten feet from shore is easily six feet deep. The water is clear and salty, which makes floating quite easy. The swimming area is roped off and for-hire catamarans bring their guests to a reef area that is on the outside of the roped-off area. We brought our own snorkeling gear, no need for fins, and had a blast swimming with the fish. As I noted, there are guards positioned around the beach to keep non-hotel guests at bay. Hotel Atmosphere: The vibe at the S Hotel is relaxed and calming. During our stay, older generational guests and mostly couples (40s, 50s, 60s) outnumbered younger guests (20s) – just saying who stays here. If you are looking for a party environment, the S Hotel will disappoint you. Each evening, the hotel featured a local Jamaican band or a planned evening activity. The bands were quite good. For a more vibrant nightlife, bars and other restaurants can be found outside of the hotel compound – I would taxi and not walk. The Hotel is encircled, for security purposes I suppose, within a 6-foot concrete wall. The area surrounding the hotel consists of inexpensive souvenir shops and a few lesser hotels. We ventured out one afternoon and soon returned as there is little to see or buy. The hotel also has a wonderful spa. Spa services are an additional cost but add to one’s overall relaxation. Again, be certain to bring tip money for the hotel staff; they work extremely hard to make everyone’s stay enjoyable and they receive nothing extra for their service and hospitality. My Overall Impression: I liked the S Hotel for our first Jamaican stay. It’s a small resort, so it never seemed busy, and is located close to the Montego Bay airport. The rooms are large, clean, and not extravagant. The hotel staff is very friendly and welcoming. The beach is wonderful. The hotel vibe is calming and relaxing. This is not an activity-heavy resort, nor a party resort. However, with the S Hotel being a smaller resort, I was expecting more personal touches and accommodations, especially with meal choices. I can understand why some guests ventured outside of the hotel for dinner and bar fun. While the guest rooms are fine, I would not classify them as being luxurious or romantic, and I also believe that a freshening up of the rooms, especially the bathroom, is necessary to maintain the hotel’s appeal. Our five-night stay seemed like the right amount of time to enjoy the resort without becoming bored and wanting more choices.

We normally cruise, but wanted to experience an all inclusive resort. There are many to choose from in Montego Bay and Jamaica. We wanted a smaller resort rather than one with hundreds of people stirring around. So we chose the “S” The S hotel is designed very well as well as the room layout. The views are awesome and the pool area is very nice. The hotel is only five minutes from the airport and they can/will arrange safe transportation for guests. It was obvious that a lot of planning goes in to the activities and entertainment, which we enjoyed. The front desk was friendly and helpful but, check in time is 3:00 pm. They could do better at having their rooms ready at 3:00 pm which is supposed to be check in time. Ours wasn’t, but they did give us our “bracelet” so that we were identifiable as guests. With the bracelet we were able to eat and drink at the buffet and pool bar/grill until our room was ready. They will watch your luggage by the front desk in the meantime. The bracelet works as your room key once activated which we found to be very handy. The café/bar by the pool was our favorite and had consistently tasty burgers, fish sandwiches and fries. The pool area was very nice and there are waiters who make rounds around the pool. The buffet had plenty to choose from breakfast, lunch and dinner and the omelet bar at breakfast was excellent. The Café 24/7 is kind of like a coffee shop but it isn’t open 24/7. To the best of my recollection they didn’t open until 8 am. It takes a little time for them to be fully operational so if you are up and around early, the buffet has coffee/tea and pastries (as well as breakfast). The beach was nice. There were both open areas and shaded areas under almond trees. The resort offers chairs and umbrellas to guests at no charge which we enjoyed daily. There were “guards” at each end of the beach designated for S Hotel customers and they do an excellent job of keeping it exclusive, just beware that they do not “own” that portion of Doctors Cave beach. On especially crowded days there may be others sharing it, however the chairs and umbrellas remain exclusive to S Hotel guests and visitors are kept behind the chair line, so that your view of the water isn’t obstructed. There is a waiter on the beach who can serve bottled water, rum punch and punch. For anything else, you can also walk to the pool bar and get your drinks (any drink). Be advised that drinks taken to the beach need to be in a disposable plastic cup, you just have to specify that with the poolside bartender when you order. The view of the bay and the water is absolutely stunning. You may want to get a dependable ride or escort if you want to visit Jimmy Cliff Blvd (the Hip Strip). which is the street just outside the gate. There are plenty of staff stationed at specific areas that do a great job of keeping the resort exclusive. I originally wrote a long and detailed review and included a few, small issues. In fairness, we didn’t speak to anyone about them. The hotel responded to our review very quickly. I was assured that if we were to stay there again, any issues brought to management’s attention will be taken care of immediately and would have been had we said something. I was given their word that all of our concerns were being addressed with staff in order to train/retrain and make every experience there perfect, not great, “perfect”. So, if you book the S hotel and you have any issues, speak to management asap.

Let me start by saying the staff at this hotel are amazing. Everyone was kind and friendly. The food is fantastic. The head chef at the buffet is talented and makes the dinner buffet look like a 5 star restaurant. The hotel is in need of some upgrades but it’s very clean and small enough to not be over whelming. A few cons- there is a large public beach sitting right behind the pool deck. They bring cruise ships to that location several times per week. The S hotel is non smoking but the people at the public beach smoke and it can be smelled from the pool deck. They do have an assigned beach area for S hotel guests only. They serve a few drinks there from the hotel bar and bring them to your chair. You can also get a drink at the bar and bring to the beach in your own insulated cup. One other thing was there’s an up charge for “premium” liquor, which isn’t worth it. The liquor that’s included could also use an upgrade. We ended up purchasing our own liquor at the store next door. The best things about this hotel are the staff, food and sunsets. If those minor inconveniences don’t bother you, you will have a wonderful time.

Food and drinks were delicious, had the grilled lobster and squid ink pasta. Staff at the pool bar and in the cafe were very welcoming and entertaining. The pool deck is beautiful and I loved the vibe and Jamaican decor in the club. Thanks S Hotel for a great stay!

I hope you keep your promise because this was a long and detailed review of my experience with the employees. Thank you! At the pool bar: First and foremost - Delroy. What a professional. Went out of his way to make us comfortable and happy. Paid attention to detail and never had to ask him for anything. Was always there when we needed something - I joked with him and asked if he had a tracker on us. More importantly, he is a great person. Easy to talk to, kind and genuine. Good bartender. Needless to say he is now a friend. The S Hotel is lucky to have him represent their brand. Also at the pool bar are the hardest working wait staff. Attentive but never overbearing. Knew exactly what we wanted and needed. Smiled through the long and very hot walks back and forth to the beach to bring us whatever we asked for. Saskia, Orel, Mikayla and Tony the lifeguard- (who does a little bit of everything). Rahyme a.k.a GOVERNMENT! True professionals and cool people. Thank you - my new IG friends! Aladdin behind the grill! His chicken was delicious and made with love. He worked so hard to make ALL the food served at the pool mostly by himself. These behind the scenes cooks don’t get the credit they deserve or the tips they deserve - please don’t forget about them! And the price of the dollar has gone up - stop tipping a dollar or two! I understand tipping is not a requirement but -come on now! Restaurants: A problem for dining was the waitlist for the restaurants. However, Kimberlynn the manager was so accommodating and made sure she helped. She truly didn’t want us to be upset about it. She made sure we were satisfied for all dinners. Also Akeem from dining was great! He was also a big help to us for restaurant dining. Lobby bar: The lobby bar has one of the best bartenders in Jamaica -Roan! Not only does he make the best drinks but you get great conversation with him. He was attentive and knowledgeable about just about everything. History, sports, music…you name it he knows it. He let me be a DJ at the bar. We sang together and watched sports together. I didn’t even want to go on the strip because I was entertained at his bar. Instantly became our friend. Entertainment Rashai. She is so sweet! She listens (and doesn’t judge lol) and she wanted to know how to make our experience better. Her water aerobics, games and hosting is top tier. Front desk Wray (who I teased about being named after the Jamaican rum) was like a crisis manager. Anything we needed he helped us with and he’s “got a guy” for everything. What a lifesaver! Yohann- (he’s all over the hotel) Good guy. Listened to all my concerns and problem solved quickly and efficiently. Other mentions - Shanday, Glendora, Radika -great customer service. Front desk/cool people Dillion at the front - thanks for the always grabbing me late night tuna bites from the cafe. Andre who I hassled for change! The engineer - Rolando! Rooftop pool I didn’t get the names of these two - but the female employee up at the rooftop pool and the quiet male that worked with her - they are so fun and so cool. Even though it’s a smaller bar up there, their vibe makes you not want to leave. Now for the cons- having to pay for some of the premium liquors was annoying. When you say all inclusive - mean it. I was surprised to see that some drinks weren’t included. At least offer a monetary package at booking so we don’t have to pay 13.00 a drink. The refrigeration system needs to be better. Nothing was cold. The refrigerator in the room is warm. Have an ice machine on the floors if you can’t raise the temperature of the fridges. The drawers smelled like mildew - I refused to use them. The pools should be cleaned more often. Bugs were doing water aerobics with us. Lack of towels with housekeeping and lighting should be better in the bathroom. No beef patty in sight! Very cute and well designed S club but not being utilized right - should have more parties there and get the staff to work at the parties so it’s full and has fun people. The good news is that any of the complaints were heard and rectified as best as possible by most of employees named above they really will help make everything better!! In all - views were beautiful, beach was amazing, hotel was clean and the workers were outstanding! I hope each one of them gets a promotion and a raise!

Had an awesome experience at S Hotel! From the front desk team to the entertainment, everything was perfect. The staff were pleasant and friendly. We especially loved the Italian restaurant — the food was delicious, and our server, Glenora, was incredibly sweet. Highly recommend!

All three a la carte restaurants are a must do. You also can’t go wrong with the buffet. All of the food was really good, and my waistline knows it. The Club S on a Saturday night was immense. But the best part of this place for me, are the people. The staff are the best I’ve ever experienced. In no particular order, these people really made our holiday. They were others too, I just remembered to write these names down. Marlon, Makeda, Renae, Andre, Joel Lee, Orel, Roan, Durel, Dillon, Rachal, Alex, Rahyme, Denroy, Demara , Sherika, Yanique, Saskia, the beach guys. Thank you all for making our holiday as special as it was. You’ll have a place in our hearts forever.

We moved here after staying 5 nights in Secrets St James. What a difference!! So much more relaxing! After having to get up at 6am to get a palapa (I cannot sit in the direct sun at all) and having to stay in line for 30-40 min to get an early restaurant sitting, it felt very chill and relaxing here. No need to stay in lines, no need to fight for anything. Of course, this is a boutique hotel, not a huge resort like Secrets, which, for us, had its positives bit also negatives. This is just one building - everything (all restaurants) is in this building, so you do not need to go far, which could be considered very convenient by some, but for us we felt kind of trapped - there is pretty much nowhere to walk, for example, after dinner, unless you walk around the pool, LOL. Because of its very close proximity to the airport (literally 5 min by car), I can recommend this hotel for shorter stays - 3-4 days would be ideal. For à la carte dinner restaurants, you need to make a reservation, which could be a challenge for short stays, so would recommend making reservations before arrival. However, they do have a decent buffet that is open not only for breakfast and lunch, but also for dinner. As compared to the big AI resorts, the food variety in their buffet is understandably limited, but I was always able to find something that I liked. And I can say that quantity and variety does not always equal quality and number of options that will be to your liking. Yes, as compared to Secrets resort, which we arrived from, the number of options for lunch in their buffet was extremely limited, BUT I actually was more satisfied because I personally found what worked well for me - fish that I really liked, nicely prepared with good side dishes. Again, think short term stay, as it can get repetitive pretty fast. No need to get up early to reserve a palapa - what a relief!! They set up umbrellas and loungers for you where you want to sit. Their pool looks exactly the same as you see on their promo pictures - really nice. But we usually sit at the beach. The biggest plus for us was the swimming area - the resort is on the Doctor's Cove beach, which is beautiful and, most importantly for us, big area for swimming. We are pretty good swimmers and like to actually swim for an hour or more at a time non-stop - and this is what we could easily do here as it becomes pretty deep pretty fast, but it was very calm when we were there -- just perfect for long swimming. In terms of swimming - I was in heaven. In terms of entertainment - they had a band playing starting at 8:15 pm at the pool area every night we were there. But of course, understandably, it cannot be compared to the variety of entertainment productions provided by the big high-end AI resorts that we are accustomed to. Overall, good stay, not perfect (unlike other reviewers here, we were not impressed much with their service), but we have no regrets coming here. Can be recommended for short, relaxing stays if you just want to quickly unwind.

We chose this hotel based on reviews. But not everything is like that. Yes, the hotel is elegant, smaller with a beautiful beach. We were here for 9 nights, so we had plenty of time. The facilities and the hotel are really amazing. What can you do in a small space? And there really was everything. Elegant entrance with reception and lobby. Several restaurants and bars. Cafes with a pastry shop. Swimming pool and a reserved part of the beach. Amazing sea with turquoise water and service on the beach. The main manager does everything to take care of the guests. He talks to everyone during the day and in the evening and pays attention to them. There are a lot of wonderful people working here who take care of the comfort of the guests. We want to thank all of these people who really take care of the guests. Special thanks go to Tiffany and Deondra. Here are the things that did not make our stay with you pleasant and certainly do not belong to the 5 star hotel as you declare: 1. Long wait at check in for a ready room. We arrived at 4pm and got the room at 6pm. We have traveled many countries and many hotels, even not 5 star ones, but in this you are truly exceptional. 2. There is no turn down service. 3. No one cleans the balcony, we had to do it ourselves. Both the floor and the windows. Photo attached. 4. We had sun loungers on the balcony but no towels. You have to take care of that yourself. However, you only get two beach towel cards. 5. Vibes bar and grill insufficient food offer for a longer stay. After 4 days it is quite monotonous. 6. Lobby bar is open around 6pm which is late. 7. Lack of staff in the cafe. Many times it happened that there was one employee making coffee and smoothies but 6 people were waiting for service. 8. Cocktails and wine are served in the Vibes bar in plastic cups which is fine but the glasses for a couple are not the same but of different sizes. Or completely different. The wine is warm during the day. We rate the level of serving drinks in the Vibes bar at 3 stars. 9. The lobby bar is better but here too we happened to get a cocktail in plastic cups in the evening and we didn't take it anywhere. 10. We rate the Sky bar on the fifth floor the worst. Many times no one served there, warm sparkling wine and normal wine. They don't serve you before 6pm because they are already making a restaurant for Jamrock. 11. Some facilities are already worn out or missing. For example. Cushions for sitting outside in the buffet restaurant. Tables on the beach. 12. Service in the buffet restaurant when preparing tables is very slow. When a guest leaves they do not deal with it and do not prepare for a new guest or very slowly. Despite these negatives we had a pleasant and relaxing holiday with you. If time allows we will be happy to return to you but probably not for that long.

It has its own private area on Doctors Cave Beach and excellent facilities throughout the resort, including al a carte restaurants and a spa. We spent 11 nights at this resort and we would return. The hotel is located on the hip strip and 5 minutes from the airport and yes there are planes landing all day long but we did not find it annoying. This resort is not for everyone, it is small and relatively quiet. Limited activities and no water sports. You can arrange to do water sports on the beach for a cost. The hotel has a small section of the public beach reserved for hotel guests. The beach employees do a great job setting up chairs and umbrellas. The drink service is limited to water, beer and rum punch. We brought our sippy cups and brought down what we wanted to drink from the hotel bar, not a problem, but you cannot bring drinks down in hotel glasses or any plated food. The pool area is lovely and full bar and food service is available. The rooms are lovely and large, we stayed in a king ocean view . The room was cleaned daily but there were times we had to call for items such as towels and paper products. There is a kcup coffee machine and a fridge with beer, water and pop. There are 3 reservation restaurants that open on rotation, Italian, Jamaican and seafood. Also a small buffet open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. You will find a lot of authentic Jamaican food at all restaurants. During the day there is also a grill serving jerk chicken and burgers. There is a 24 hour cafe which we enjoyed. You will find a great variety of people here from tourists to locals. Each night there is usually a band that plays till 10pm around the pool. I absolutely loved my stay at this hotel in Montego Bay. The staff were incredibly warm and welcoming—everyone treated us like family, which made the experience feel truly special. This is a smaller resort, so while entertainment options on-site are limited, they do offer shuttles to nearby events and activities, which was a nice touch. The food, however, was the real standout—easily some of the best I’ve ever had at a hotel. I’m still thinking about the Escovitch fish sandwiches from the poolside bar—they were unforgettable. The drinks were great as well; the bartenders really knew their craft. Our room was spotless and kept clean throughout the entire stay, which I truly appreciated. Even though it rained almost every day during our trip, it was still one of the best vacations I’ve had. I’m already looking forward to coming back!

I see lots of people mention that it’s hard to get a reservation but we didn’t experience that - we emailed in advance and got three reservations - and then we got another while there. Beach was good - be mindful that it is a shared beach and when a cruise ship is docked, the beach is busy. That said, the hotel has an area blocked off and they get you set up with beds and umbrella etc. If you’re looking for a party resort - this isn’t the one. It is much more quiet and relaxed. Perfect if you’re just looking to relax. I know how hard it is to find a good place to vacation to and sometimes it’s hard to believe the reviews, I’ve travelled a lot and am really happy with our choice. It’s great to know the reviews were right!

We travel a lot and go to all the new Secrets Resorts that open and love them all. I came across this resort with outstanding reviews and decided to try even thou knowing it was going to be much smaller and boy where we surprised and very happy! It looks just like the pictures and has everything you want and need. The beach and ocean were beautiful which is very important to us we are 100 % beach people. Tony on the beach was wonderful; he would save us a special spot, so we did not have to get up early (of course we gave him a tip each day) There are three restaurants, plus the buffet and one is closed each night, the food was good, and service was excellent, not slow at all. The buffet food for breakfast and lunch was good and the outside bar and food also good. The resort was very clean and very pretty with a lot of history if you are into that. 10 minutes from the airport with a $15.00 taxi fee. The only thing I was not crazy about you need reservations for dinner each night, I was able to make them before arriving at the resort. The beach is right next to Doctors Cave and open to the public with cruise people, which was not a problem at all, on the beach they only service rum punch, beer or water, no food allowed, you have to go to the pool area if you want food and special drinks. The room was very comfortable and the view on the top floor was great, the lower floors might be covered with the trees if this is important to you, for us the view of the beach and ocean is very important that is why I paid more for the King Sky room. Each night there is a show nothing to talk about but some kind of entertainment each night at the pool. We would go back again and again very well worth it.

The S stood out with its near perfect scores for an all inclusive, so why not? We were concerned with what seemed too good reviews and reviewers with one or few contributions. Remember it’s a boutique hotel, which is fine. Adults only so that great. Most of the reviews turned out to be pretty accurate. Trying not to duplicate here are a few comments. The mini king is truly mini. With my level with Hilton we rolled the dice for an upgrade but no luck. Really no recognition for our status but again it’s not a Hilton owned property. Room was clean. Definitely spring for beach view. Food was pretty good. No major complaints. Service was good but laid back. Pictures are accurate. Beach is great, as is the pool. Location to airport is awesome. Never had to reserve chairs or fight for a place, which is almost unheard of in most all inclusive resorts. Pool music is background reggae. Drinks were ok but nothing major to brag about. Street noise is terrible, but nothing the hotel can do. Between 8:30 to 10 there is a live singer at the pool. That’s it for excitement, except for Saturday night club on property. This is was the only real negative. The carpet rolls up at 10 period. There is zero to do. Even the bar that stays open until 1:00 is dead. So unless you are with a group expect to go to bed early or go offsite via taxi. The hip strip is not much more than tee shirt shops. A bar or two and a couple of restaurants. The Margaritaville is pretty standard but close. There is a casino next to it. E-games. No table games. Day walking was fine. Not sure about at night but probably not. The strip could be a huge draw to the area if it weren’t so run down. Sad really! MB should invest in it. If looking for a total relaxing and quiet stay, it’s good for that. I would say 4 nights were plenty. More than that would have been too long a stay for us. Solid 4-4.5 for us. Just know what you are looking for.

My wife and I had the pleasure of staying at the S Hotel in Montego Bay Jamaica 2 times, once in February /25 for 10 days and once again for 9 days in October. We cannot say enough about this property. The location is very convenient and close to the airport (less that 10 minutes). The property itself is very chic, very clean and extremely well appointed. The equipment (loungers/ chairs etc) is all high end. The staff are extremely attentive, cheerful and genuinely interested in making your stay the best possible. Shout outs to Ann Marie (Mrs. Pryce), Marlon, Andres, Orel, Zara and so many more staff who truly made our vacations memorable. This is a smaller property (apx 110 rooms) which (for us anyway) makes it much more intimate and convenient to navigate. The restaurants and all food offerings are stellar with quality and attention to detail being paramount. The beach (Doctor's Cave) is stunning as well as the pool area and lobby. If you desire a smaller property with great ammenities and don't like a long drive after you arrive- then the S Hotel should be on your list! Returning soon! Tom & Cathy

I had the most amazing experience. We arrive for a three nights stay and from start to finish it was all amazing experience. We got welcome drinks upon arrival and the view from the lobby entrance is amazing. We booked the Sky Suite and our room was on the 5th floor on the view was absolutely amazing. The Doctors cave Beach is the most beautiful. The food at the root rock and Jamrock was my favorite restaurant. Everything was amazing. We will definitely be back for my husband birthday. The food and entertainment was top class, we went when they had the Jamaican buffet with jerk chicken and curried goat and escoveitch fish, it was lovely. The band played authentic reggae music all night which had audience members singing and dancing to every song performed.

My wife and I traveled there just a few short weeks after Hurricane Melissa. We've been to Jamaica many times and have tremendous respect for the island and everyone that calls it home. We were devastated to hear some of the stories, but were so grateful to have been able to visit and at the S Hotel. Throughout everything, I've rarely seen so much resilience. In particular, the staff at the S was outstanding. While there was some minor damage and one of the restaurants wasn't open while we were there, I can say enough good things about our experience. As I mentioned, we been to Jamaica many times....We've found our new home there at the S. Enjoy

My experience at the S Hotel was A+++. My boyfriend and I went for my birthday and I must say it was the BEST birthday I ever had. The vibe at the hotel is really chill and the staff were great. The history displayed with all the National Heroes and beautiful art work/decor was top notch. You really get to feel the authenticity of Jamaica with a modern twist. The rooms were beautiful and the view from our room was breathtaking. However in my room (462) there was no full length mirror which was a little bother and the lighting in the bathroom could have been better but I also understand there was a recent storm so it’s a possibility this was the reason for that. I wished the bathroom had more hooks to hang rags, towels etc. and it also would have been nice to have two suitcase holders seeing that we booked for two guests. I unfortunately had my suitcase on the ground for most of the trip due to that. Apart from that, the rooms were clean, bright and spacious! The buffet options for a non meat eater were sufficient. I’m a picky eater but I was full breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks in between lol. I only wished they had more seafood options, more specifically shrimp but I was really happy with the food. I will be really honest and say the food at the À la carts was really disappointing (as noted, I'm picky so this could just be that). I booked one for my birthday and went right to the buffet after because I was so disappointed. The staff serving us at the à la cart took notice it was my birthday and came out with a birthday song during our desert serving which was so cute, definitely made my day :) The staff, listen 100/10. The staff accommodated anything for any client staying at the hotel. They took so much care in making our stay comfortable and never made any request seem like a bother. I swear everyone there felt like family and made you feel so welcomed. I really want to take the time to shout out a few standouts: Roshai - That girl is special. The welcome from the very start was legit magical. Instantly she felt familiar, warm, welcoming. She’s everything and beyond! If you want your guests entertained, keep her on the job. She’s super personable, I would visit again because of her. Andre - Such a nice guy! So helpful, so calm, funny, just vibsy! Truly appreciated him helping and advising us on a daily during our stay. Orel - I loved Orel so much. He’s younger but brought such a nice vibe to the place. I could tell from the start that he was a caring person as he always checked on the guests. He would be on the way to serve another guest but would never pass us by without asking “you good?” or asking if we needed something which my boyfriend and I really appreciated. Once he was on the clock, my drinks were flowing consistently lol. He was very attentive and so funny. If I visit again in the near future I hope to see him there! Also a lady at the bar, her name started with a T. She was so nice!! She recommended places to go for my birthday, checked in to see how things went and always was so nice! Delroy - At first I didn’t even realize he was the Restaurant Supervisor because he was sooo cool lol. He remembered my birthday and he was a staple in ensuring I had a great time, I really loved that and appreciated his vibes. Super cool guy. I never ever write reviews and the seldom time I do, it’s very brief but I felt the need to give these honourable mentions and take time to write this review seeing how S Hotel and their staff gave me the best birthday ever. Thank you! If you are wondering to book, do it! You won’t regret it.

July 22, 2025, a day etched in my mind forever! The day I got married, we topped it off at S Hotel, from reaching the gate, to checking in was top class, professional, warm and super exciting. The staff greeted us with welcome drinks, our room was decorated and the bar stocked and a little extra bubbly to celebrate. The night ended after a busy day and then it was time for breakfast, just how the kitchen smelt, the aroma that hits you as you walked down, tells you that they have amazing chefs who knew what they were doing. The room was super clean and just breath taking. 10/10 Highly Recommend. The bar will be your best friend sml. The location of the hotel is perfect, just a stones throw from the busy Montego Bay Town and is value for your money! Oh, yes, you can sleep, the noise levels were perfect, no problems detected.

Our stay at S Hotel Montego Bay was truly a wonderful experience. Big thanks to the members of staffs for their exceptional service .I wanna take the time to Shoutout specifically the management that is responsible for the well kept rooms the cleanliness was top notch. Another shoutout to the Restaurant supervisor Delroy the food was a delight, the nightly entertainment cannot go unnoticed. What stole it all however is the breathtaking over view at night, perfect for taking in the sunset or enjoying the starry night. I rate a 10/10 and would highly recommend to anyone looking for a relaxation and enjoyment time in Montego Bay
