Kauai Shores Hotel

My husband and I had a great time at this "boutique" hotel! Well situated near the beach and MANY fantastic restaurants. Could do as little or as much as we wanted daily. Highly recommend taking the bikes to Donkey Beach. Easy 12 mile ride for we 2 in our 60's.

This hotel has everything we wanted in a vacation spot! It was our 2nd time here and they have renovated the rooms recently so it was an even better stay than the first time. It's right on the ocean, the pool/hot tub are lovely, the rooms are clean and bright, beds are firm and comfy, staff is so hardworking and friendly, A/C is great, the vibe is really chill and unpretentious. It includes morning yoga classes and has bikes you can use. We've done this trip with and without a car and you can easily walk/bike in this area - so close to great food and swimming beaches. The Lava Lava has live music every night and everyone performing there was wonderful!! The nice thing is, you can enjoy the music in or out of the restaurant, and we did both(the Sandy Toes Cocktail - yum!). Highly recommend!!

Kitschy hotel with a nice community feel. Loved the live music every night, and the option to get a drink at the bar or just sit at the picnic tables and enjoy. No frills, but quality. It’s also a great location for driving to any part of the island.

Despite the festive atmosphere and being adjacent to Lava Lava, it remains peaceful and at 10 o'clock, the restaurant and pool close down so everyone can get some rest. The staff is so friendly and always accommodating. The nearby Coconut Marketplace is fantastic and convenient.

Loved this hotel and our overall experience with staff and property. Upon check in, staff member Novella was very helpful. She took the time to tell us all about the hotel amenities and about the island since it was our first time visiting Kauai. Found out that we had both lived in same town in California too! The hotel property was nicely manicured and loved that it was right on the beach! The pool and grassy areas were all kept up very well and we enjoyed the nightly live music playing at the bar while we lounged on the beach. The hotel restaurant Lava Lava was very good. We had dinner and breakfast there and both meals were very good with friendly service. Our room was very comfy and had everything we needed, and housekeeping kept it very clean and tidy each day. Location was perfect— right next to a shopping center that had everything we needed. Even an ABC Marketplace! Only issue we had was in the self parking lot cause all the spaces are extremely narrow and there is not even enough room to open car door to get out properly. Because of this, Our rental car was hit and bumper torn off on our 2nd night and no one even left a note! Needless to say, we used the valet rest of our visit so not to incur further damage! The valet is free, except for tipping. Other than that, we absolutely loved everything about this hotel!

The best part about this hotel is the location! Right on the beach and I mean steps away from the beach and it was very clean. Which was absolutely lovely. The 2nd best part was the LavaLava Beach Club which has happy hour everyday from 3-4:30, which is wonderful, specifically because it is right on the beach - and you can order a drink and just sit without having to order dinner. It's quite lovely. Our hotel room was one of the newly renovated ones and was spotless; with decent beds and a great air conditioning system. Just know going in that this hotel is very family friendly and there were lots of children of all ages, which was fine by us as it was a very good quality for the price. It's also centrally located about 8 minutes from Lihue airport. Incredibly easy to get to. Lastly, there was a very cute and convenience market at the end of the block. We walked down to it frequently.

Kauai Shores has become our go-to spot when visiting the island, and after our third stay, it’s clear why we keep coming back. The location is unbeatable—right on a beautiful stretch of beach, offering stunning sunrises and a peaceful atmosphere. While the ocean here isn’t always swimmable due to currents, the scenery and proximity to the water make it a perfect place to relax. The atmosphere is laid-back, with a retro-Hawaiian vibe that blends comfort and style. The open-air lobby, lush grounds, and colorful décor create a welcoming and relaxing environment. We love how easy it is to get around from here—whether heading to nearby beaches, hiking trails, or enjoying the shops and restaurants in Kapa‘a. The on-site Lava Lava Beach Club is a huge plus, offering delicious food and drinks right by the water, with live music in the evenings adding to the island ambiance. The service is friendly and accommodating, making each stay feel effortless. If you're looking for a beachfront stay with a relaxed yet lively atmosphere, Kauai Shores is a fantastic choice. We’ll definitely be back again!

We stayed here in August 2023. I recommend you make sure what room you are booking. We did not and our room faced the car park and bin area. Not great... Luckily, we did not plan to spend our holiday in the room so all in all we got over it. The rooms were clean, had some simple coffee making facilities and a fridge. The fridge could be bigger, in order to store cold drinks or fruit in this hot climate. And the bin in the room was also kind of tiny. I did not find any recycling bins in the whole property, something I would expect in such a tranquil place like Kauai. The beach in front of the property had rough waves, so we never swam there, but it was clean and emply of people. There is a food court right near by. We only stayed in this resort so I have nothing to compare it with, but I have stayed in better equipped resorts in Europe or Oceania. The restaurant is nice, but also seems quite pricey. We enjoyed that there was live music in the evening. Also there was bike rental which we appreciated. Kauai is beutiful regardless of which hotel/resort you stay in. I reckon most ppl come to see the nature. Aloha!

Good hotel with large rooms, free bottle of water per stay, large car park, very nice grounds, free valet parking, beachfront, 2 pools and restaurant happy hour. Great location for alternative restaurants, shopping and drinks. Hotel concierge Britney was very helpful booking trips.

They have two pools, free bicycles to use and a great restaurant. It is family friendly but somehow quiet and peaceful. This is our new spot to stay on Kaua’i!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Kauai Shores. The grounds were beautiful and the room was very comfortable. We had enough privacy as a couple celebrating our anniversary but appreciated the family-friendly atmosphere of the resort. We will definitely return to this location.

Great staff from front desk to dining. We had breakfast while looking out at the ocean. Everything was clean and well maintained. Can walk to shopping including shave ice and ice cream. Peaceful yet plenty of things to do. Highly recommend!

I stayed at Kauai Shores for my birthday this past weekend, and it was such an amazing trip! Everyone at the property was so kind and went out of their way to help us. The complimentary valet was a nice touch, and being able to request the car from our phone made it so easy to head out for the day. The rooms were clean, cute, and cool, with nice airflow and good quality sheets. All in all, I would return to Kauai Shores any day and recommend it to any of my family or friends for their future trips to Kauai.
