Our second vacation at Impressions Isla Mujeres
The service and food was excellent. Our second stay at the resort did not disappoint. Our butlers Erick and Wedinzon made sure all our needs were taken care of. Our meals at all the restaurants were the best of any resort we have visited. We will definitely be back.
My husband and I visited this resort for Valentine’s Day, I’m a bit of a travel snob so I typically don’t stay in all inclusive places but this is next level!!! It changed my entire prospective and I am obsessed. I have been telling everyone about my amazing experience at...

This place is MAGICAL. The prettiest hotel I’ve ever been to,’and the prettiest water! Angel & Edgar accommodated us the entire time, and were amazing. We cannot wait to come back. They were very accommodating to all of my food allergies, and the food was wonderful

What can’t you say about secrets at Isla! My girlfriend and I stayed here for 5 nights and had an experience we will never forget! We arrived at Marina Del Mar hacienda after taking a flight to Cancun. We were greeted with fresh fruit and yummy drinks as we checked in. We waited about 20 mins and our catamaran arrived and picked us and a few other couples up. After the 30-40minutes we arrived at the resort! It was gorgeous! Our butler greeted us and we began our vacation.
We started off the trip by enjoying the beach and our own cabana. We sat in hammocks suspended above the water and had an amazing time. The next day we enjoyed the Infiniti pool on the rooftop and had attended a dj! From there our trip took off!
During the dj party we got to talking with a few of the resort employees and ended up getting the inside scoop! Toby and Rebecca were absolutely fantastic! They were both extremely attentive and fun! They made both myself and my girlfriend feel comfortable and relaxed the entire time. We were even lucky enough to explore the island with Toby! We attended an awesome ceviche class and mezcal tasting that they both taught at! Can’t say better things!
Along with the tastings we attended a mixology class. The bartended Yohan was nothing but 5 star. If I was blindfolded you would’ve thought you were being served by a 5star Michelin bartender. His knowledge of infusions and how to make the best drink is something that will stick with me forever! Who can’t say yes to a bacon infused old fashioned!
To wrap up the trip we explored the island rented a golf cart and went shopping. Overall Isla was amazing. I felt safe even outside of the resort. The shopping area was awesome. They aren’t as pushy as people say. We felt as if we barely scratched the surface of the Isla and totally plan to come back!
Shoutouts to our favorites! Edgar and Angel who booked everything from dinners to outings! You guys are the best!
Rebecca and Toby! You guys will always have a special spot in both my girlfriend and my heart as you both made us feel like we part of your family!
The one piece of advice that I do give,
Tip. Tip. Tip. Yes this place is expensive, but a few dollars for breakfast a few dollars for dinner (2-3) goes a long way. We tipped our servers and never sat without a fresh drink. I also totally noticed a difference in the liquor quality when tipped.

We had a wonderful time. To be fair, I would give this resort a 4.5 out 5 instead 5 out of 5. The main cons were slow service and inconsistency with the food. However, it is very hard to complain when you are here. It is very relaxing and the views are just as good as all of the marketing.
We hung out at the dock almost everyday as we really love being close to the water. Antonio was the best worker and friend. He made our trip so much better and he always made sure we were taken care of.
Our butlers were Erick and Wedizon. Erick was very, very good. We are so thankful for how he treated us and took care of us. On our last night, Wedizon brought beautiful roses to me so I could give them to my wife for our anniversary. I didn’t even have to ask, he just did this to make our stay more special. Erick and Wedizon truly made our stay here so much better.
Spezia was the best restaurant by far. The food and service was the above and beyond. The Spezia manager was very good too.
Lastly, the spa was amazing. We have very high expectations for spa treatments and they were met here.
Very thankful we came!

Incredible views and good location on Isla Mujeres but not the best value in Cancun for the price.
The views alone make this one worthwhile if you are a picture taker, but beware of the stairs if you are a beach goer and plan to only take one trip up the stairs because there are ton of stairs from the beach / dock level. Many guests were taking breaks because of the how exhausting the stairs were to get to the lobby level from the beach level.
Transfer to the resort was seamless, and the food and drinks were of good quality. However, there are other resorts with better food and mixology for drinks. Compared with the cost of staying at this resort the quality of the meals should be much better.
Only criticisms would be that: 1. We didn’t see much added value with the butler system 2. the service at the beach was less than ideal with long waits and brought the wrong food on two different occasions and 3. lack of wrist bands (this is probably a selling point for some people) but I found it very inefficient for the staff to have to constantly ask for and record room numbers when going to restaurants ordering food, etc. and it’s not something I want to have to constantly provide with a resort and experience such as this.
Overall, I would give this 4/5 stars. Breath taking views but don’t necessarily think it was worth $1500 + a night.

Restaurants were very good, amazing service all around (Angel and Edgar were our butlers and incredibly helpful and wonderful all around). Highly recommend getting some of the prime beach or rooftop spots and posting up all day. Tons of smaller pools and places to relax, great seating options, and plenty of shade if you need it. Definitely worth renting a golf cart and checking out the island too.

The views and pictures are stunning!! Antonio at the beach is always ready with towels, drinks, and a good joke to ensure your having the best day! AB and Tony were awesome during the bike tour giving us all sorts of cool history and culture of the island. Johan at the bar was awesome! He always recommended the best drinks and took great care of us! We had some issues with our shower but the management team, especially Kenet who went out of his way to ensure we were happy, moved us to an upgraded room as soon as they could. Our butlers Mose and Omar took care of our every need and were so understanding of our shower situation. We did rent a golf cart which was fun to drive around but downtown was too chaoitc for us so we left almost immediately and cruised the coast. Finally a shout out to Jaret, the activities coordinator, for always making the daily activities a blast from the cocktail making class, to the fire show, to many more. Overall we really enjoyed our experience here!!

We visited here for only a one day pass on a catamaran from Secrets Playa Mujeres.
We were so thrilled to step off the catamaran onto this gorgeous resort.
The beach was small but set up nicely with a variety of chairs and shade structures on the beach and on the dock. The staff told us to be careful not to step off the deep end in case of sea urchins. I loved watching the pelicans walking around and fishing off the beach. There’s plenty of sea life under the docks.
There’s lots of stairs to climb up to the resort but an elevator is available if you choose. The multiple levels of pools to choose from are so interesting. Our favourite space was the massive shade enclosure looking over the ocean, simply a gorgeous space. The dining choices are good quality and delicious. The servers are well trained, and courteous. The lobby bar is just amazingly gorgeous and so unique. The bar, lounge and pool are so well designed on the rooftop. The view is spectacular and a photographers dream. There is a definite need for more shade structures on the rooftop.
We would love to return to stay a few nights and experience the rooms.

Where to even begin with such a wonderful experience! The hotel is really remarkable with incredible pools and ocean views throughout. The three main places to swim (rooftop, main pool, and beach) always had space to sit and enjoy whichever area we wanted to be in at any given time. It’s extremely quiet during the week, but the smaller pools are not to be missed. They have a much more secluded energy for when we were looking to have a quiet moment to ourselves.
The only day the resort was a bit crowded was on Sunday since the hotel offers day pass access, so we used the opportunity to explore the island. The staff was so helpful providing us with tons of suggestions on where to go and places to eat.
The spa is also stunning with an incredible water journey experience. Definitely keep your eye out for any opportunity to fit it into your stay.
Overall I can’t speak highly enough about the staff.
- From the entertainment team Rebecca was absolutely amazing. Between the many scheduled classes she teaches, to kindly giving us unscripted salsa lessons, she really made my husband and I feel at home every day. Jared was also so kind and ran an incredible sound bowl meditation.
- Our incredible butlers, David and Martin, really went above and beyond to make our honeymoon feel special and celebrated. Every interaction with them was a total joy.
- Alo and Miguel are both absolutely amazing bartenders. Alo was the most attentive throughout our stay, making sure we were always taken care of, and Miguel taught my husband and I all about tequila!
- Also shoutout to Tony, who leads a very memorable hibachi experience.

Wow, just wow! My wife and I just spent an incredible 8 days at Impression Isla Mujeres by Secrets for our honeymoon and we were blown away by the incredible experience.
Hotel: It's absolutely gorgeous. The rooms are massive and have everything you could ever think of. The housekeeping is very attentive too. There are so many different pools and beach areas to explore. My wife and I spent most of our time out on the beach or on the rooftop pool. The views were incredible, we were able to catch a beautiful sunset every night.
Food/Drink: My wife and I tried every restaurant there throughout our 8 days and we were consistently impressed by all of them. The menus are creative, daring, and incredibly fresh. I was able to try a new dish that i've never had before every single day. Our favorite was Unik. I legitimately had better food at Unik than I've had at some Michelin starred restaurants. The bars were great too, the bartenders were super fun and experimental with what we might like. We also loved Cacao, the 24 hour cafe. The food there was great and the coffee was delicious. I'd definitely recommend asking for their affogato!
Staff: This is truly what made our stay go from excellent to perfect. Everyone was so kind and welcoming. My wife and I don't speak much Spanish, but everyone on staff also spoke perfect English which helped for things we needed.
There were so many incredible people that helped us:
- David and Martin - our wonderful butlers - thank you for taking such great care of us and providing so many awesome experiences for us to explore the resort!
- Rebecca - Thank you for teaching us how to salsa dance, make sage bundles, and give us great tips for exploring the island. You made everything so much fun.
- Jared - thank you for giving an awesome bike tour of the island! It was the perfect way to exercise and learn more about the history.
- Toby - thank you for always bringing the energy and teaching us about sage bundles too!
- Miguel - thank you for teaching me about tequila, mescal, and just for being the best bartender ever!
- Alo - thank you for taking such great care of us at the rooftop pool and bar. My wife and I loved your service and attention to detail!
- Monica - thank you for helping us take advantage of the Spa at Impression, it was such a relaxing experience.
The Spa: Would highly recommend you take advantage of the spa while you are staying there. I got the best massage of my life, and the amenities are top tier! I loved the sauna, steam room, and various pools.
The Island: we loved visiting Punta Sur! It's a 15 minute walk from the resort, and it was really cool to say that I stood on the eastern most part of Mexico. We loved being able to see all of the exotic birds and wildlife throughout the island whenever we explored away from the resort.
Areas of improvement: I wish there was a more broad wine selection. Would've loved a good chardonnay with my dinner!
My wife and I are already talking about planning our next trip to Impression, and are so glad we chose here for our honeymoon.

We absolutely LOVE impressions Isla Mujeres. We returned home yesterday from our second trip out to the resort & like the first, it didn’t disappoint. I left a lengthy review from our first trip but a couple things have changed so I wanted to do a follow up.
Transportation
I cannot recommend enough having this setup prior to traveling. We always use Amstar but there are other great options as well.
The Ideal way to arrive and leave the resort is via their private catamaran however, this all depends on the weather. They recieve a report every morning letting them know if they are allowed to take the boat out. If you get a chance to ride the catamaran it’s an amazing experience. If the weather is bad (it was for us this trip) you shift to a different marina and have to take the public ferry across & then a taxi to the resort.
No, it’s not as luxorious however, the hotel does a great job communicating and having someone at the port to meet you if this happens. They pick up the price of your ferry tickets & the taxi ride to the resort. Again, they can’t do anything about it so it does not good to complain. They would rather you come by catamaran too.
Resort Restaurants
The menus have changed since last year. Before our favorite restaurant was Sake. This time around we fell In love with the steakhouse & Italian place.
On the roof top deck there Is a great restaurant for breakfast. On Sundays they now offer a brunch from 10am - 2pm. Its AMAZING! The options are endless and the food is so good. Highly recommend if you’re there on a Sunday. No reservations needed.
Staff
The staff here are unbelievable! Courteous, respectful, helpful, over the top service across the board. Head-butler Ratik does a great job making sure the butler service runs smoothly and checking in on all his guests. Wedinzon & Erick were our butlers this visit and they did an incredible job communicating to us daily the events at the resort. They also handled all of our reservations and changes when needed. Louies at the front desk was awesome and took care of us as well upon check in. The staff work very hard to make your experience amazing.
I always see people ask about tipping & the answer is yes. It’s no different from those working in the service industry in the states. Tip your servers, bartenders, butlers, etc. All inclusive doesn’t mean you don’t tip. It doesn’t take much and it shows your appreciation for all that they do.
For us, the staff is one of the MAIN reasons we will keep coming back to this resort.

Do NOT stay here if you’re seeking luxury and stress free stay or have a disability. The website is very misleading. Once you arrive you will find yourself in a “boutique” hotel more than a resort that cost $1500/night. There is lots of steep steps that you take all day long to access the beach, bar, and restaurants. I had major ankle surgery months ago and quickly realized this wasn’t going to work for me as I still have limitations. I tried to tell the manager that I’d like to switch resorts to Playa Blanca as its very inconvenient and I’m afraid of re injuring myself. They did not care one bit and said NO! This isn’t the relaxing vacation I imagined. The resort is NOT like in pics. The rooms are so small, the partial ocean view was a joke as I faced the street with junk cars in front. You will reach the beach area after a million steps which I slipped 2x and its tiny and like an enclosed cage. You need a reservation for restaurants so your stay revolves around “dinner time” otherwise good luck enjoying the “all inclusive” restaurants, not to mention some aren’t even open everyday like the Steakhouse. The oven at Italian restaurant was not working so some dishes weren’t able to be prepared. The roof was leaking very bad at the rooftop restaurant and a bucket had to be placed and people moved. There’s nothing to do here as the main pool isn’t even that big and at 6 no more drinks poolside. Not enough chairs at the main pool and it wasn’t even packed! There isn’t such thing as strolling around your resort cus there’s nothing it’s built on a cliff. No breakfast buffet, only one restaurant open and the food is not very good. I stayed at many secrets and the layout is so much better, this was so boring…Impressions Moxche is amazing and what you would expect for $1200+ per night stay there instead!

I’m headed back from Impressions Isla Mujeres now after 5 days in Paradise. It’s hard to put into words how special this resort is.
The staff and service is unparalleled. Attentive. Extremely well staffed with staff ready to assist at every turn.
The resort is truly breathtaking with every view nicer than the next. We enjoyed the food quite a bit and found it to be several notches above other luxury AIs and other high-end hotels. The liquor is premium plus, so there is no need for up charges or to bring your own favorite bottles.
The spa is lovely. Even with a massage treatment, guests can enjoy a 50 minute hydro therapy session which was surprisingly fun and great.
Some of our favorites:
Shrimp and mushroom omelette from Spezia
Lobster salad at Unix (order two, portions are small and it’s amazing)
Poke bowl (salmon) and shrimp nachos (beach grill)
24 hour coffee shop - amazing drinks and small bites
Sunrise or sunset bike ride - great way to see Isla
We were there for 4 nights, 4.5 days. This was perfect. It’s a spot to relax, soak in the gorgeous pools and setting and to be pampered. There is not a ton to do. If we stayed longer; we would have left the resort to visit Playa Norte beach, as the beach At Impressions is pretty small.
This spot is a special gem. Can’t wait to go back.

I really wanted to enjoy my stay here, but unfortunately, my experience was far from what I expected for the price I paid.
To start, I called the day before my arrival to confirm directions, and the hotel staff told me to go to the Marina and gave me that address. Upon landing, I took a taxi—about 40 minutes from the airport—only to arrive at the Marina and find it closed. The staff there told my driver we needed to go to the ferry, which was another 30 minutes away. After arriving at the Xcaret ferry, we were told the next departure was hours away and advised to head to the Ultramar ferry, which was another 20 minutes away. All this extra, last-minute travel came out of my own pocket—completely unnecessary had I been given accurate information from the beginning.
Then came the second issue. I was invited to a membership presentation, which started off fine—until they pressured me into applying for a credit card to use as a down payment. Without my full consent, they ran a credit check, which was completely inappropriate and unprofessional.
As for the resort experience itself: the butler service was below average. Other resorts I’ve visited in Mexico were far more attentive. Our assigned butler barely checked in with us, and on our last day, he didn’t even ask how our stay was or offer any assistance. The room itself had issues—the tub was dirty, and the ceiling fan made loud, annoying noises.
Overall, this hotel did not deliver on what it promised. For the amount I paid, there are many other resorts in Mexico that offer far better service, transparency, and comfort. I would not return or recommend it to others.

There is a reason Impression Isla Mujeres was voted the most Instagrammable hotel in the world in 2024. Because it truly is! The location, the beach, the pools, the hotel design, the decor, the restaurants, the rooms, the sunsets and more... all are worthy of photos and posts. So are the top shelf cocktails, exquisite dinners and delightful desserts. But truly, it is the staff that made our stay so wonderful and memorable. Starting with the General Manager, Mourad, who creates a welcoming and familial atmosphere for both guests and staff alike, the employees of this resort will treat you with respect and courtesy at all times. "Welcome family," is an expression you will hear often. Our personal butlers, Omar and Mose, were attentive to our every need and desire and took care of us so well for the week we stayed. Friendly and helpful is how I would best describe them. These three I have mentioned, plus one more, the executive chef Manuel, made our stay just so enjoyable. He strived to ensure our culinary desires were met at all times. But I also have to give credit to all the other staff members who contribute to the success of this resort. Antonio, who took care of us everyday at the beach. Karen who did the same, and at Sharky's pool as well. Carlos at Unik and Amairani at Spezia were always so friendly and courteous, even when I mispronounced her name. Edgar at Wildfire and his gf (I am sorry I forgot her name) at Cacao were also exceptional in service. And last but not least, were two members of the entertainment team who always went out of their way to make us feel at home, Rebecca and Toby. As I mentioned earlier, the resort itself is spectacular in how its design and decor capture and exude the island mystique of sun, sand and surd, but it is the staff who make this resort truly shine. Do not hesitate to experience this for yourself. Dan and Ava.

What really stood out to me were the unique and immersive experiences the resort offers. One of my favorite memories was the island ride—exploring Isla Mujeres by bike was the perfect mix of adventure and local charm. And the cocktail-making class? So much fun! It was hands-on, social, and the drinks we made were honestly delicious (and strong!).
The food and drink throughout the resort were satisfied, with stunning oceanfront dining options and cozy lounges tucked in every corner. Room service was seamless—everything arrived fresh and was discreetly placed in the secret box outside the door, adding a thoughtful touch of privacy and convenience.
Our butler, Ritik Chaudhary, was the cherry on top of an already flawless stay. He was incredibly responsive and always a step ahead—making restaurant and event reservations, anticipating our needs, and ensuring everything went smoothly, all while being genuinely warm and friendly.
If you’re looking for a mix of relaxation, luxury, and fun in Cancun, Impression Isla Mujeres by Secrets is the place to be. I can’t wait to go back.

I have never wrote a review but I felt compelled to do so due to this experience. am currently at the hotel at the hotel. I am pretty well traveled and have stayed in many resorts and hotels in many parts of the world. I have also stayed at a different impressions resort.
This property is not even close to the same level of relaxation and offerings as the other impressions property.
First, major issue! In order to navigate this place you must be a well trained athlete. There are very steep stairs at every turn. You have to pay attention of your might trip and fall easily. My girlfriend recently had ankle surgery and we didn’t want to risk her being reinjured so we asked if we could move to another hyatt property at the same price point and our request was denied and basically our concerns were disregarded.
Secondly, the food is not up to standard like the other impressions property. They do not offer the buffet option for breakfast or anytime. That’s not necessary for me but I’ve had to order multiple entrees to find one that I actually like. Also, many of the restaurants were not open. One of the ones that were open we were told that the oven was broken. YOU HAVE TO MAKE dinner reservations unlike the other impressions and secrets.
Next, believe the reviews regarding the leaks. As we sat down in our first restaurant the roof started leaking profusely and they have to place a bucket in the middle of the restaurant to remedy the situation. I have seen other reviews were rooms have been flooded.
This place is a boutique hotel. Not a resort. I did not pay 1500 per night to not feel relaxed and enjoy my experience.
I would avoid this expensive boutique hotel at all costs because it does not deliver as promised.
