Extraordinary stay; amazing vacation!

I rarely leave TripAdvisor reviews; however, our experience truly deserves an exception. My family, along with another couple, had an extraordinary stay, starting with the genuinely friendly and helpful resort staff. From the moment we arrived, the warmth and attentiveness of the team, from the check-in reception to the towel hut, restaurant staff, and concierges set the tone for a wonderful vacation. Every encounter was met with a smile, and even the iguanas around the grounds seemed happy to welcome us! The resort itself is beautiful, more fitting a Ritz Carlton name (which we’ve stayed in at Aruba). Both the adult (an infinity pool right off the beach) and family pools were fantastic, and the beaches were immaculate, with soft sand and plenty of space. The best part was that there was never a worry about reserving a beach or pool lounge chair under an umbrella or a large cabana (plus, they are all free) regardless of the time of day. Even with the resort at near capacity, loungers and cabanas were always available (and free), and no more 7am rituals of marking your spot with a book and flip flops! We also went snorkeling 2x (and they do a free session at least 1x week) and did the resort’s scuba diving (first a 30 min class, then 50 minutes in the ocean) with instructors that keep you entertained! The coral reefs right in front of the resort were vibrant with lots of colorful fish and we even got a closeup of a fairly large seahorse! We ate our lunches at both the Zala Lounge (Asian fusion, with amazing sushi and rolls, plus a massive full wall screen if there’s a good sporting event) and the outside casual Salty’s (excellent wings, poke bowls, and local Montana ale). Plus, the JFK Steakhouse for dinner was excellent with great ribeyes, NY strips and salad bar. JFK is also where you’ll have your huge breakfast buffet. Finally, the room was spacious for 3 but the best part was the incredible views. We had an oceanfront room with 2 queen beds, and our friends had an oceanview (with a view of the infinity pool and ocean) with a king, both I highly recommend. We spent a good amount of time on the terrace enjoying the scenery and sounds of the ocean (with a complimentary Prosecco for my wife’s birthday – see photo!) Overall, I can’t recommend the resort more enthusiastically. It exceeded our expectations at every turn, and we’ll definitely be returning!

Great stay, amazing snorkling

My husband and I spent a week at this resort and overall had a wonderful stay. The rooms are spacious, modern, and very comfortable. We had a garden‑view room facing the Dreams resort, with a nice balcony—though the chairs could definitely be more comfortable. Housekeeping came daily, but the consistency varied a bit. Some days the coffee wasn’t refilled, or we were missing cups, or the floors weren’t swept. All minor things, but I’ll admit the coffee matters to me! That said, we slept extremely well. The room was quiet, the AC ran smoothly without noise, and the bedding was great. Beach towels were always available with no issues, but you did have to get down to the beach early if you wanted chairs. The beach itself is a little rocky, **however the snorkeling was the best I’ve ever experienced—truly incredible.** The resort is also about a 4 km walk to Willemstad, with roughly half the walk along a very nice bicycle path, which made it easy and enjoyable to get into town. Service across the resort was about 90% excellent. Most staff were warm, attentive, and went above and beyond. The remaining 10% felt the opposite—almost as if it was all or nothing. One area that really stood out was the Activities Curaçao kiosk. The girl working on Wednesday the 11th was neither friendly nor helpful. She suggested a tour but couldn’t show me on a map where the beach she was recommending was located, and she seemed more interested in getting back to her phone than assisting guests. It would help if she looked up the beaches beforehand. However, the girl working the kiosk on Thursday was much more knowledgeable and pleasant, which made a big difference The restaurants were a highlight. We had dinner twice at JFK and were lucky enough to be served by Heavenly, who made both evenings exceptional. The Salty Iguana also offered great meals and service; Shavon took great care of us there. The Gastro Lounge and Sushi Bar were consistently delicious with great service as well. The Papiamentu Marketplace was convenient for drinks and snacks, and service was generally very good—except on the Friday we left (February 13th), when the staff working that morning were a noticeable contrast to the rest of the resort.

Jaymy at The Salty Iguana (Marriott) is the absolute best! He made sure our experience was perfect and showed us where we could find activities around the resort. We only stopped in for the afternoon during a day off the cruise ship. We will definitely be back to Curacao!

We had a wonderful experience when we dined (twice) at the Salty on the beach restaurant. The setting on the beach is very attractive and the menu has many choices. The main factor in our experience was the excellent service provided by our server, Lyn. She is very knowledgeable regarding the menu items. Lyn is friendly and helpful

I’ve stayed here multiple times for work. It’s always a great stay. The staff are nice and there’s always someone to help or direct you to suggestions of where to go whether at the resort or throughout the island.
