Azul Beach Resort Negril

We just returned from a week at Azul and had the best time! Our room had a beautiful ocean view from the balcony and we loved to rest out there on the lounger pod. Whether you love the local flavors or are looking for something a bit more common like cheeseburgers, pizza and pasta, there’s always lots to enjoy. If we tried something and didn’t care for it, we tried something else and kept our vacation moving. 7 mile beach is the best beach we’ve found in all our travels and those sunsets bring us back time and time again! What really makes this place though is the staff. KerryAnn and Indera made the best drinks. Marion, Kerriann, Rita and so many others made us feel welcome and cared for at meals times. Cheryl provided one of the best massages I’ve ever had at the spa (this is my second visit to Azul and second massage with her - HIGHLY recommend). Jermaine, our concierge, checked in on us every day and was a wonderful host and guide. This was a return trip for us so we were excited to reconnect with so many amazing people, including the warm smile and kind heart of Roxanne. If you’re hesitant based on others feedback, I encourage you to give this place a try, we have grown to love the people of Jamaica and this resort will give you the feel of the heart of this great place.

Had a great time visiting this resort for the first time. Absolutely amazing view from our room 9301 which was a direct view of the beach . Daily rainfall but that just meant better planning required. One of the best beaches we have ever been on. Spa was good and the massages were excellent. As a member, appreciated the extra supportbprovided by the butlers Dwayne and Tamera. So glad to also hear you are all ok after the hurricane at the end of 2025. Staff throughout were unbeatable and on hand to have a laugh as well as ensure we felt brilliant.

The beach is amazing. One of the prettiest nicest kept beaches. The people that work at their resort are extremely kind and very helpful. Some of the best service I’ve ever had at a resort. The food was fantastic. I’ve been to quite a few all inclusive, and this is one of the best. Not a ton of options for restaurants , but what you get is very good for an all inclusive. As far as drinks, I’m not a big drinker, but I will tell you they were pretty strong and tasted delicious. This all inclusive does not cut corners on your beverages. Every place when you’re traveling will have an issue or two. Some of the issues are based on what we do not know when we book the stay. The front desk staff does need to be empowered to do more service recovery quicker. They recovered, but it took far too long and it wasn’t by them. When we were struggling with our room , they corrected it. We ended up in a fantastic room, exactly what we thought we would have. We will absolutely return here again. They had a rainy day activities, which was another plus that other places don’t have if you want to enjoy the ocean and the beach and be treated well. This is the place to go. We chose Premier level and I’m very pleased with everything they offered us. This is what I call a beautiful, relaxing vacation if that’s what you’re looking for. It is definitely worth the drive from the airport to be in this fantastic location. It was very clean. With 24 hour room service!

This was our first visit to Jamaica. My best friend and husband have been coming down and staying at the Azul for over a decade so we decided to join them this year. Best. Decision. Ever. We arranged for a private transfer with Errol Flynn Tours and has the pleasure of having Clifford, as our driver. He was prompt, polite, and gave us descriptions of the region as we drove through to Negril. We heard both happy descriptions as well as some sad ones relating to the devastation that parts of this beautiful island are still facing. We were there December 19-26 and stayed in the Prestige (Premium) section (and we’ve already booked our vacation for 2026!) Travelling with my mom and adult daughter, we stayed in adjoining swim-up suites in building 10. I was shocked at how BIG the suites are. One suite had a king size bed, the other two queen size beds. Walk in closet/bathroom with two sinks, and large walk in shower. Undoubtedly, the best resort room I’ve ever had. We were lucky that we had no rain during the day the entire week (it rained at night one evening), temperatures were between 28 and 30°C every day. Paradise. The beach is white, pristine sand that surprisingly does not get hot - I recall walking to dispose of a water bottle in the garbage receptacle and noting that I had walked the entire distance in bare feet and my feet were not scorching hot from the sand…how is that possible…lol) The water is spectacular - the gorgeous signature shades of Caribbean blue, and warm. And you can walk out quite a distance, and it remains quite shallow. You can spot some fish, stingrays and starfish in the waters right in front of the resort and many guests rent snorkel gear and wade out to the buoys to see some more. You can also rent stand-up paddle boards or kayaks if you’re feeling adventurous. There is a great animation team that organizes beach volleyball, bocce ball tournaments, pool foam parties, etc. And to Mr. Beats for the amazing entertainment organized in the evenings to keep us “jammin’ in Jamaica”. But I’ve outgrown all of that sort of activity and was just happy lounging underneath my beach umbrella and spending copious amounts of time in that gorgeous water. Because the hotel is not at full capacity yet, due to many people cancelling or postponing their trips after hurricane Melissa, they were rotating some of the restaurants while we were here We had breakfast at the Mahogany buffet every morning, good assortment of food to choose from. Get a made-to-order omelet from Miss Hyacinth. So worth it. We had one dinner and Christmas Eve dinner at the Italian restaurant (Christmas dinner included a choice of beef Wellington with half lobster tail, or turkey with mashed potatoes - they were both delicious). We had one dinner at the Asian restaurant (overall pretty good, we went in knowing that you can’t compare it to Asian food back home). Every day, you can get salad, hamburgers, barbeque chicken hotdog, and french fries from the outdoor grill in between buildings, 11 and 10. Shout out to the amazing Chef Michael, and his team for grilling up some amazing eats. One of the highlights of the week was freshly baked Jamaican beef and chicken patties brought straight to us on the beach by our amazing butlers (Rashane and Shari) Washed down with some ice cold Red Stripe beer? Amazing! We did venture off resort one day, to go to visit the iconic Rick’s Café for cocktails, and to watch some brave guests, jumping off the cliffs. Followed by a gorgeous sunset dinner at Ivan’s (coconut shrimp, coconut chicken, grilled or pan fried red snapper, broiled lobster tail and the best rum raisin ice cream). This experience was spectacular and we will definitely come back again next year. Lastly, it’s the people that make this island such a remarkable place to visit. Especially the people who work so hard at the Azul resort, we thank them from the bottom of our hearts and cannot wait to have these yearly memories with them all. Travis, Dave and Talicia - our beach butlers who kept us hydrated (and a little tipsy) on the beach. Safari, Damian, Chanel, Kerrianne - the fantastic bartenders (make sure and ask for the Chanel special cocktail) Kardene, Marion and - the other lovely ladies at the Mahogany buffet I’m sure I might forget one or two people, but a huge thanks to the entire staff at the Azul for making our first and hopefully not last trip to Jamaica so memorable.

This resort has the absolute BEST beach in Negril! If you’re looking for a resort with a breathtaking beach, calm waters and 4-star accommodations - then book your stay at Azul. Our first impression was a bit concerning. We had a reservation for two adults/2 children and when we entered the room, we only had two towels/2 washcloths and three pillows. We called the front and requested more pillows, which they told us we would have to wait until tomorrow because they didn’t have enough. That seemed crazy since the resort was less than 50% occupied. We ended up getting pillows within an hour after they said they didn’t have any. Needless to say, not a great first impression, but after traveling to Jamaica more than once, you learn it’s a go with the flow vibe. It always ends up working out. Our concierge Tashna made sure that we had everything that we needed the week of our stay. She even provided helpful recommendations for excursions with kids. We read a LOT of reviews before arriving. They had me very concerned about the food options. But after our stay, I can tell you that the food was not an issue for us or our children. In fact, we enjoyed all of the food! Timing is everything though…don’t wait to eat until the restaurant is about to close. We called Karisma resorts main line before arriving and they assured us that all the restaurants are open. But one restaurant at the front of the hotel called Palms was never opened during our stay. However , what many fail to understand is that not all restaurants are open at the same time each day. This is standard for every all-inclusive resort we’ve been to over the past 20 yrs of traveling. They usually rotate restaurants depending on hotel capacity. Since we’re traveling from EST, we tend to be earlier risers and like to eat early dinners (5-6p). We never had an issue getting into a restaurant or running out of food, ever! We had great service and never encountered any issues with food. I don’t want to downplay anyone else’s negative experiences, but I don’t think an all-inclusive option is for everyone. If you enjoy all-inclusive resorts, then this one is really a great option. You can find a negative in everything. We stayed at a huge Hard Rock Resort a few months ago & I prefer a smaller quaint resort like Azul Beach. As I said in the beginning of this review, the beach here is stunning! Such beautiful blue water and the roped off area for the resort is pretty shallow for young kids. You can easily touch the bottom until you’re almost to the edge of the roped off area. It’s a perfect beach to lay in a pool float because the waves are calm and relaxing. They have very strong security at the beach and won’t allow for vendors to approach you while relaxing. If you want to purchase jewelry or souvenirs (which I highly recommend), they may ask you to walk a few feet off of the resort so that the vendors don’t get in trouble. Our beach waitress Kadian was attentive and checked on us often. She was great! If you get tired of the food here, there’s amazing options right next door at Fireman’s Lobster Restaurant. We enjoyed our lunch there with crab, lobster and fish! We even paid him to get us authentic jerk chicken from “Best in the West”, a well known Jamaican restaurant. All of it was incredible! The “Lobster Man” walks the beach advertising his lobster restaurant, but he also sells fresh coconut waters for $10. My son ordered one a few times throughout our stay. On Christmas Eve, Azul had a top notch Christmas buffet with grill lobster, jerk chicken, pasta, oysters, shrimp and so many amazing desserts! It was truly a dinner feast to remember. They had Santa visiting the kids at the resort too, such a nice touch! We had housekeeping daily by Donna and had no issues, it was great service and they kept our mini fridge stocked too. Our beach lifeguard JJ was exceptional! Our son loved throwing the football and playing some soccer with him. Such friendly staff at the beach! If you want a cabana, make sure you wake up early to get the seating you desire and enjoy the peaceful waves while sipping coffee. I wish the coffee bar opened earlier than 7am, but you have a coffee maker in your room if you want coffee sooner. The gym is much bigger than expected & has all the workout equipment you could need while on vacation. We took a water taxi to Rick’s Cafe. Ocean Quest Sports boat is a red boat that comes to the front of the resort with an inflatable couch to give rides too. The kids loved it! They offer a water taxi for a private ride for just our family, which I prefer, and we just messaged them when we were ready to be picked up from Rick’s Cafe. A much more memorable experience than a land taxi ride. There’s a great gift shop to the right of the resort next to Fireman’s Lobster Restaurant. There’s also a massage hut that charges $1 per minute beside the gift shop along with someone named Mama-C who braids hair for $2-$3 per braid. Mama-C also sells handmade jewelry too. Again, anything you can think of, you’ll find while staying at Azul. Here’s where I’ll interject my opinion… tips go a long way! There’s a saying, “you get what you pay for” and that’s always been our motto while traveling for the past 20 yrs and it’s never steered us wrong. Some make the mistake that paying for an all-inclusive means everything is included, but tips aren’t and they will make your experience much better when the staff feels appreciated. This resort is still in need of a few maintenance and aesthetic upgrades to truly be a 5-star resort. Some of it may be due to the recent hurricane. The Royalton resort is nearby and still hasn’t reopened yet. We’re lucky that Azul is smaller and could rebound quickly for Christmas. We had a very memorable Christmas week at Azul and I’m glad that the negative reviews we read weren’t remotely true for us. We will definitely recommend this resort to our friends too!

We had a Premium Suite with Limited Sea View and Balcony or Terrace, the room was really spacious. less than 2 minutes from the beach and we were on the 3rd floor We mostly ate at the Mahogany restaurant that has a great food selection. Could have more fruit but everything was good . We did enjoy the room service for late snacks Entertainment every nigh was great next to the main swimming pool Good value for the price. The staff is happy , smiley , friendly . the lifeguard are really helpful and it is generally good thanks to Chris the trip was even better

We stayed at Azul Beach Resort Negril for our wedding and had an absolutely incredible experience from start to finish. Our wedding coordinators Carla, Dwight, and Danielle were amazing. Anything we wanted or needed, they made happen. They went above and beyond at every step and ensured our wedding day was completely perfect. The ceremony on the Sky Deck was stunning, and the beach reception was everything we dreamed of and more. The wedding day food was delicious, DJ Big Red was fantastic and played the room perfectly, and the serving and bar staff were so kind, attentive, and professional. Everything flowed seamlessly and exceeded our expectations. From the moment we arrived, the resort staff made us feel welcome. Dean was the first person we met and remained a ray of sunshine throughout our stay. Jorge and Manuel (food & beverage managers) made us feel at home and ensured everything we needed was taken care of. Tamara and Roxanne from Butler Services were incredibly attentive and wonderful to work with. The food and drinks throughout our stay were great, the beach was beautiful, and the rooms and grounds were very clean and well maintained. Honourable mentions and a huge thank you to Romain (Bellman) for his kindness and help, Katrina at the front desk, Shantel at Beans, Kevin at concierge, Mikula (Head of Gardening), our amazing masseuses Mel and Dianna, Kaydeen at Mahogany, Alfonso at Nesta Lounge, Keneatha at the pool bar, and Deandre for wedding setup support. Every single staff member at Azul Beach Resort Negril was genuinely kind, warm, and welcoming. They truly made our trip and our wedding so special and unforgettable. We will cherish these memories forever and cannot wait to return.
