Privilege Aluxes

We've spent almost a week here and out of all of the servers we have interacted with, Dani and Samuel are our favorites. They are so kind, shared history with us about their families, where they are from, what they like to do. It felt more like being hosted in someone's home then at an all-inclusive resort when they were taking care of us.

Hotel was fantastic! Room, grounds and all. Waitstaff from check in to almost check out one day before we head out have been very friendly and will go out of their way to accommodate. Wait staff at the beach club are great! Shout-out to Dani, Jorge, Antonio 9and all the others. It is our first time and already planning to return in August 🙃

Every location has it's strengths and things it can improve on. This property is smaller than many you may encounter, but that makes it easier to get around. Grounds are well kept and very clean. Security is excellent and the wait staff is top notch. Some of the areas that need improvement are the physical care of the facility. Our balcony whirlpool was missing several jet nozzles, the beds are comfy until the other person in the bed starts moving around. The result is similar to an old style waterbed. Finally, the elevators are unreliable. I found they would bypass the floor I selected. Instead of going up to 4th floor, as selected, it would go to 5th. And instead of stopping on the main floor on the way down, it would go to the basement. Then the unthinkable happened. The elevator went to my floor but the doors wouldn't open. The alarm button was worthless. Fortunately I was able to contact my wife and she summoned help. After 20 minutes in the elevator I was finally able to get out. The last area for improvement was the food. At times it was fantastic! But when it wasn't, it wasn't even average. The breakfast buffet had some top notch omelettes, pastries and bacon. But the scrambled eggs, Eggs Benedict, breakfast potatoes and hash browns left something to be desired. Overall it is a nice place. The superb staff, beach, location and overall comfort are it's strong points. But a few other things need attention.

Privilege Aluxes is a great hotel. Our room was clean and comfortable. We had a large patio with sliding glass doors leading to the patio and a whirlpool tub. We only ate breakfast here but it is fit for a king. We were here to fish for 3 days , which is only a few block walk to the boats at Bally Hoo. We couldn’t eat breakfast on those days. that is the only thing I would suggest as an improvement is breakfast opening at 6 instead of 7, even if it was just the hotcake/omelette bar, or sandwiches to go, a limited fruit selection - anything. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful, especially Michael, a concierge in the lobby.

Such a wonderful place with excellent food and service. Always felt safe. Very clean and the staff (especially Mario!!!) works hard to make sure you’re taken care of. Resort is on the smaller side which we really liked. Everything was close by. This is minor but the only complaint would be the room keys. We had to have ours reprogrammed a few times which was annoying. I’d suggest having the key built into the wristbands. Otherwise we absolutely loved this place and we will 100% be coming back!

Our first trip to Isla Mujeres and looking forward to many more! The Privilege is in a great location - walkable to anything, felt very safe, and not crowded. Staff monitor to make sure only guests use the facilities. Rooms are nice. We did breakfast only but were able to add all inclusive on a daily basis which we did for the Brazilian dinner night. Our favorite wait staff member was Dani so took great care of our group!

Isla Mujeres is a gem with great swimming, amazing local restaurants, friendly locals and great hotels. Privileges is our favourite place to stay on the island. We have visited Isla 9 times in the last 20 years and this was our fifth stay at Privileges. It never disappoints: spacious, clean rooms; top-notch breakfast; warm, attentive service. Playa Centrale is the best beach on the island and Privileges Beach Club excels at cold drinks and delicious food. Huge shout out to Dani for his exceptional service! Wow the margaritas were tasty!

First, we love this island and would recommend a trip here to anyone! Privilege is located on the popular playa Norte beach which is beautiful but also popular and populated. Our personal preference would be on the southern side because we value a bit of privacy. The atmosphere is upscale, nicely decorated and you feel the luxury of staying here. There are ample nice shady spots with comfortable lounge chairs on the beach for guests to use. Not a single day was overcrowded. The pool area is also very nice, water was perfect temperature and handy pool bar for your drinks. Our room fit all our needs. The concierge Michele was amazing and even had a bottle of champagne and decorative towels with flowers for our anniversary ready upon our checkin. Be sure and let the hotel know if you are celebrating before checkin. Michele checks the day before to make your checkin perfect. We choose the middle package with the whirlpool tub on balcony. We used it twice during our one week stay. There are lights on a timer on the patio which make using the tub at night not great. Our last day was pretty windy so we hung out a bit in the tub which was nice. Next time I’d probably do a standard room or spring for one of the rooftop pool suites. We choose the all inclusive. The value is great if you plan to drink plenty and do it at the resort. Don’t bank on eating all your meal all inclusive though. While the food is fine, there are too many amazing options on the island that blow the choices at the hotel away! Really can’t understate how much better the food is outside of the hotel. We are foodies though and used to amazing seafood at home so our standards are probably higher than most. This place is impeccably maintained and cleaned. They literally have people cleaning and grooming this place all day long. Every single detail is taken care of. Zero trash found anywhere on the property. We always clean up after ourselves but some don’t and you’d never know it here. Extra services we used were the beach Bali Beds, Spa Massage and Concierge service. The Bali beds we found to be great value. For less than $50 a day you can get a front row bed on the beach. It’s extremely comfortable and comes with the BEST service. Dani was our waiter all week and this guy anticipates your needs! He learned our preferred drink and showed up with 2 without us even asking the second we sat down every day! His service might be a little too good because he just keeps the drinks coming! It’s all inclusive though so no complaints here! Aluxes, you need to give Sani a raise! He deserves it! The spa service was amazing as well. Best massage, at the top of my experiences and my best friend is a massage therapist. Do it you won’t regret. Overall, every single person at this resort offers the best friendly service! Really can’t rave enough on them, just exceptional. We used the concierge service to rent a golf cart and did a scuba dive trip. Michele’s recommendations were all too notch. Plus, he acts like a TRUE concierge and sets it all up for you. Want a reservation? Just ask, he calls and organizes everything. He. The best concierge I’ve had yet. Most just give you numbers to call, no Michele does all the leg work for you. Aluxes needs to give this man a raise too! He recommended an amazing dive shop for our scuba dive and the best snorkeling spot to do in your own. He literally gave us a map and wrote all the best spots for beer, fun and food in the island. Would I recommend Privilege Aluxes, YES. It’s a great experience, especially if you are looking for a worry free pampered vacation.
