The Explorean Cozumel

I really enjoyed how the guides pointed out different ocean animals, especially Daniel. You knew there was something neat when they’d go down and take a picture of it. The music was nice as a way to lessen the noise of the boat motor. Beer and food were readily available. Vega and Daniel and the other guys on the crew did a very good job speaking in both English and Spanish. No directions were left unclear! The only thing I wish they had was a bright colored shirt or goggles so it was easier to find our guides

From the moment we arrived, the experience was seamless. Check-in was quick and professional. Although a lot of information was shared upfront, the reception team made it clear they were always available—and they truly were. Maria and Anahi were especially helpful, answering every question kindly whenever we stopped by the desk. Set in a small jungle setting, The Explorean feels like a quiet retreat from the livelier sister resort, Fiesta Americana, where we spent many relaxing afternoons on outdoor beds by the water. Dining Experience We enjoyed several restaurants at Fiesta Americana, but our favorite dining spot was Lol K’áan, located right at The Explorean. The chef-prepared meals were consistently beautiful and delicious. Luis welcomed and seated us most days, always paying close attention to detail. Claudia, Javier, Eduardo, Isabel Canul, Felix, and Jesús were standout servers who made each meal special with their attentive service. At Fiesta Americana, La Cevichería was a highlight for fresh fish and shrimp tacos with a beautiful ocean view. El Grill offered great cheeseburgers—perfect while watching the waves. We also enjoyed the Mayan Feast at Viña del Mar, which is absolutely worth attending if available. Luis from The Explorean was there as well, leading a wonderful and attentive team. The main bar was excellent, with friendly and skilled bartenders. Another must-visit is the Coffee Corner for ice cream—thank you to Bartolome for his service and for introducing me to the resident coati who wanders through the area. We also looked forward to the nightly entertainment, where the DJ team brought great energy and made the experience engaging and fun. Excursions Excursions were a major reason we chose The Explorean, and they exceeded expectations. We went snorkeling once by boat with Javier, Ariel, and their team. They were fun, knowledgeable, and skilled, helping us navigate unusually rough seas while ensuring we felt safe and comfortable. On another day, we walked to snorkel near Money Bar with Ernesto and Ariel, ending up back at the resort as a group, exiting along a rocky shore. As some of the oldest participants, we appreciated the assistance getting out safely-- their help made the experience both manageable and enjoyable. We also chose the coastal bike ride to a quiet public beach, where snacks and drinks were provided. Spending time talking with Ernesto was a highlight. The group included a range of skill levels, yet no one felt left behind, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Finally, we took a buggy tour to Punta Sur followed by a tequila tasting. It was a relaxing and scenic way to explore another side of the island. A helpful tip we received from another guest was to build in downtime rather than scheduling excursions every day—and that proved to be excellent advice. During our week-long stay, we alternated activity and relaxation days, which struck the perfect balance. Accommodations and Grounds Our room was modern, spotless, and thoughtfully designed. We appreciated the environmentally friendly touches, such as bamboo toothbrushes and razors, along with well-stocked toiletries. The grounds were beautifully maintained and well-lit at night, making it easy and comfortable to move around. The short, less-than-five-minute walk to Fiesta Americana felt seamless—almost like an extension of The Explorean itself. Final Thoughts While the excursions initially drew us to The Explorean, it was the peaceful setting and the genuinely kind and attentive people many listed above who made this trip unforgettable—and the reason we would not hesitate to return.

Wow! What a great experience we had at the Explorean Cozumel. We were greeted and checked in quickly and Eduardo helped us get our bags to our room! He was also a great resource for places to visit and eat in town! Our excursion guides were top notch! They all did such a great job making us feel safe and allowing us to have fun and explore the island and waters! Nestor, Santiago, Bernardo, Ricardo, and Carlos were our awesome guides to El Cielo! They were fantastic and went out of their way to make sure the experience was special! Highly recommend this tour specifically! Just make sure to wear your rash guards! I learned my lesson the hard way. The sunburn will creep up on you! Jassiel and Armando were also “AMAZING” guides! They were informative on the history of the island, what tourism means to it, along with the preserve (on our individual biking excursion). Can’t thank you both enough! The staff in all of the restaurants were kind and attentive. Special shout to Alejandra who welcomed us at the Buffett breakfast daily and to Francisco who paid attention to every detail and provided top notch service. We highly recommend a stay at the Explorean Cozumel if you are looking for an adventure with friendly, amazing people!

We have come here many times with pur children. We love the kind service. Alejandra and Daniel are wonderful hosts and servers in the restaurants. We have a great time on tge tours with Nestor, Santiago Daniel, Vega, Jassiel and Armando! We definitely recommend coming to Explorean Cozumel! Since the activities are included in this All-Inclusive resort, it’s so easy to come, relax and have a great time.

We had a wonderful experience staying at The Explorean Cozumel! Every member of the staff was gracious, kind, friendly, helpful, and attentive. The food was good. We enjoyed the included tours immensely, especially the El Cielo snorkeling trip. Armando, Ariel, and Jaciel were knowledgeable and patient guides and made the excursions delightful. No upcharges for any of our activities, which compared to some resorts wasa welcome change. Also some cool evening shows at the resort or on the beach. We'd stay here again!

Nestor, Ariel, and Daniel helped to make our trip to the Explorean unforgettable!! The enthusiasm and security they brought to each excursion made us feel right at home. Additionally all of the staff at the resort were welcoming and kind. Manuel Perez made a lasting impact on mine and my fiancé’s experience, greeting us warmly every day, even offering tableside salsa made specially for us at a dinner one night. We wholeheartedly recommend the Explorean for anyone looking for a relaxing, joyful, and safe vacation.

Checking out of the Explorean after a week. Wanted to review while everything is still fresh. Room - Nice. Comfortable beds. Shower is 10/10. Few cons are lighting is poor and light switches are inconsistent to what they should light. Electrical outlets worked at @ 50 percent of USA. Took forever to charge devices or didn't work at all. Food - overall really good. Rosato was awesome. Fish Tacos and Ceveche poolside were delicious. Buffets near the water were great. Lool Kan was good with a great setting. Service - awesome!! Special shout out to Saul our concierge! Nester, Ariel and Daniel our excursion guides were phenomenal. Hope you get Edwin poolside!!! Only con on the service was the morning coffee delivery. You need to place a hanging placard on the door by a certain time which changes daily. Or it would fall down and wouldn't be seen. Out of 7 days we got the basket like 3 times. Much easier if you could just opt in at checkout without the daily effort. Excursions - Did the el cielo, buggy ride and cenote. All were safe, fun and really informative. Again our Guides rocked!! Lastly, Snorkeling. Right in front and near the pier it was Fricken Amazing!! Tons of colorful fish of every variety. Bring Snorkeling equipment!!! 10/10...loved our trip. Sad to leave!!

I had an absolutely amazing experience on this El Cielo snorkeling and boat tour, thanks to Nestór and Daniel! As a single parent traveling with my three children, I can’t say enough about how much they helped make this day special. They were incredibly kind, patient, and attentive with my kids. They helped them in the water, took photos throughout the trip so I could enjoy the experience, and even stayed with my youngest daughter, who was very scared of snorkeling, so I could spend some time swimming and snorkeling around the boat. They went above and beyond from start to finish. The fish sandwiches and fresh ceviche were delicious, and they made sure everyone was comfortable, having fun, and creating great memories. El Cielo is beautiful, but what really made this excursion stand out was the exceptional service from Nestór and Daniel. Their kindness, professionalism, and genuine care turned a great excursion into one of the highlights of our trip to Cozumel. Thank you both for helping create such wonderful memories for me and my children. Highly recommended!

This was such a amazing excursion. Our guides, Ariel and Jassiel were so knowledgeable, kind, fun, and attentive. They made us all feel at ease and well taken care of. They pointed out wildlife as we saw it including a sea turtle, barracudas, rays, lots of fish and a huge lobster. The food and drinks were in endless supply and overall everything was amazing! We felt we spent a perfect amount of time in each spot. The equipment worked well, was clean and easy to use. Great for beginners and seasoned snorkelers. What a wonderful day we had with amazing people! YOU MUST GO DO THIS EXCURSION!
