This was our second trip and stay at the Renaissance Resort. The staff are all amazing! We are welcomed by Alexis (love you!) and Roland who are so sweet and helpful. Check-in was fast and easy. This resort has everything you could want and easy walking distance to restaurants, shopping, the beautiful bridge. We started everyday at the breakfast buffet which has a huge, delicious variety. Loved the made to order omelets, made to order smoothies, great yogurt parfaits. They have everything you could want. Next stop the beach and mimosas! The beach is man-made, but feels very authentic. In front of you is a huge and wide salt water infinity pool. The first time we went there, I thought it was the ocean! Calm waters and easy swimming. They also have a regular pool right beside the infinity. Beach service from the Infinity Bar is perfect. Thank you Bianca for making our beach days so relaxing and we remembered you from last year. Everyone who works there are so friendly and accommodating to all your refreshment and food desires. After the beach, we always headed out shopping which was all in walking distance...thru Fort Rif (owned by Mariott as well) and outside to the bridge and across to lots of shops and restaurants as well. Good restaurant choices in Fort Rif as well. Across the bridge we tried Cassandra's Roof Top (would not go back) and Iguana on the waterside left of the bridge. They had very good food, but service was on island time. Our favorite restaurant is the Gouverneur. We like the garden area, but they have a porch which faces the water. Several restaurants in Kura Hulanda village which is also walkable. We only tried Flores, but hope to try others. I also need to say how great the Five O'Clock Restaurant/Bar on property is. Best Ceviche I have EVER had! The music is also a wonderful addition. Our room was right across from there...326...bonus to sit on the deck and listen to the music. You really want an ocean front room. The rooms are not fancy, but everything you need...and QUIET... I have to also recommend TAXI ON POINT....to and from the airport and also Tours. Chardee is charming and efficient. You can book ahead on their website. Taxionpoint.com Last year, on a tour they took us to a great restaurant Fort Nassau. It was high on a hill and had a beautiful view of the harbor and very good food and service. The island is big and much exploring for us to do next time. I would not stay anywhere else!

We absolutely loved this resort! We spent 12 days and it was very relaxing. Pros: *The location is perfect. Right by the Rif Fort which has lots of restaurants and shops and walkable to the downtown which has the floating bridge and more shops and restaurants. *The staff was very friendly and helpful! Shout out to Alexis on the door, Riangelo on the front desk, Jewelle, the hostess at the restaurant, Isabelle, our omelette lady, and last but not least, Chantel, our server every morning at breakfast! *We had an issue at the Five O’clock restaurant and Herbert and Lauren were wonderful fixing it and are truly professionals at their positions! *The resort is very clean and the pool and beach area were always clean and tidy. Service was very good. *We loved the man made beach and view of the ocean with the constant cruise ships coming and going. *The breakfast buffet was awesome and if you’re Bonvoy platinum it’s free. My wife and I wanted to experience something new and have a 5 Star vacation. Curaçao is not the place for a 5 Star experience. Food was worse than Cuba at its best. We opted for the All Inclusive Plan and that was a huge mistake. Buffet restaurant and a beach bar was all the hotel had included and the food at both was Denny’s on a bad day. So we said, okay let’s explore and eat at the best restaurants on the Island. We rented a car and drive to the 3 recommended beaches and went to the 4 recommended restaurants for lunches and dinners. Average lunch and I mean frozen burger stuff and a couple of beers and wine for my wife was 170 US. Average dinner with drinks was 300 US. Beaches were packed in and by the time you rent a chair and get a drink and sandwich, that’s another 100US. Hotel is a Convention facility so on our floor we had to pass the masses just to get out to the man made beach. Not a vacation feeling. I did like the drinks at the beach bar, the room was clean and watching the 2 New Cruise ships arrive every night was cool. This was a 9,000 travel mistake that I hope this review stops couples looking for adventure in their tracks. Very windy Island and the Dutch and South American Wealthy tourists are rude and stone faced. Disappointing!!!

Even though this hotel was busy it didn’t seem there were too many people there. Great location near the Rif fort and easy access to the floating bridge. Our room overlooked the ocean and was very spacious. We went room only so had the opportunity to explore lots of local restaurants. Big shout out to Alexis on the front door who always wished us the best day! The artificial beach/ocean was lovely and we could always find somewhere to soak up the suns rays. The navigator Tiffany was very helpful. We didn’t realise there was a turn down evening service and only received that after one week. We were disappointed we missed the bbq on Sunday as even though it is advertised everywhere it is only on Saturday. Would definitely recommend.

With 3,100+ reviews, I’ll stick to the highlights. Getting the negative out of the way, the pillows were absolutely horrendous – like, potato chip thin, even doubled up. The toilet paper isn’t much better. I also had trouble with the hot water in the shower being hit or miss. Location is perfect and easy walking distance to numerous restaurants, bars, shops, and the Queen Emma bridge. It’s also right next to the cruise ship port, which we didn’t mind since it was kinda fun to look at, and the hotel has done a really nice job putting the beach/pools on the second level where the cruise ship people walk out on the main level, so you don’t get overrun. We stayed in a king-sized room with a balcony on the 4th floor, and here are the important things to note: - Toiletries included Aveda shampoo, conditioner, and body wash in bottles attached to the shower wall along with Aveda lotion, a sewing kit, and a hair dryer. There were also two robes and two pairs of slippers in our room. - There were many electrical outlets and even USB outlets in the room, especially next to both sides of the bed. - Wi-Fi was free and easy to connect to. - Our absolute favorite part of the room was the wall mounted hanging rack contraption with a million (ok, maybe 10) hooks to hang towels, hats, backpacks, etc. There are never enough hooks in a hotel room, and this was genius! The front desk staff were really nice and always had bottled water if we asked, which was a lot. As others have noted, the beach is manmade, but we liked that better. Sitting in the beach chairs, service was solid from the bar and wait staff would walk around to ask if you wanted to order anything. Elevators moved really fast, and we never had to wait more than a minute or two. We ate breakfast at the restaurant once and ordered off the menu since the buffet was absolutely overrun with people. Get there early if you want some space.

The highlight of our stay was definitely Alexis, who greeted us with a warm smile every day and night!! His genuine hospitality made us feel right at home on this beautiful island. Alexis truly embodies the heart and pride of Curacao!!! His sincere desire for every guest to have a wonderful time is palpable!! It's people like him who make you want to return! We stayed one week at this excellent hotel The location is perfect right downtown next to shops and restaurants. The staff are all friendly and courteous. We opted for the breakfast only inclusive package and the buffet breakfasts were amazing. A shout out to Juan Saumeth, the F&B director who makes a point of walking the room and chatting with the guests. We paid extra for an ocean view room and it was well worth it. The room is spotless and has a balcony and a sofa, so we don't have to sit on the bed or an uncomfortable chair. Our housekeeper was Angelique - a total sweetie. An outstanding feature of the hotel is its man made beach and infinity pool on the second floor overlooking the ocean. Access and lounge seating is controlled by the hotel to ensure it is only used by hotel guests. Willemstad is famous for its colourful buildings and intricate architecture, which is throughout the very safe town, not just the harbour area. The Queen Emma bridge is a large pontoon (floating) bridge that swings open to allow vessels to enter the harbour. The only negative of our week was the days when cruise ships were in port. Thousands of those tourists pour into town for a few hours making strolling around noisy, crowded and unpleasant. Unfortunately a scourge that spoils many destinations. A good morning to stay on the beautiful private beach!

The hotel is amazing. The rooms are great-we had a balcony room with an ocean view. The staff is wonderful. I loved the manmade beach and pool with a view of the ocean. The location is right near downtown with a great selection of things to do-eat, take a free walking tour, visit the Jewish Synagogue and the slave museum, walk around, or visit the shops. Don't forget to see the part of downtown on this side of the Emma Bridge. Eat the banana soup at Governor. While in Curacao, take a sunset cruise, visit the caves and the distillery.

Having stayed around the world in various hotels this hotel is in the 2nd tier as not ‘executive and lavish’ but a good hotel with comfort and overall quality.

INTRO- For context, we are lifetime platinum members with almost 700 lifetime nights over about 15 years at Marriott branded properties for both work and leisure. We have been to Aruba many times and visited GCM, Jamaica, St. John, St. Thomas, etc among others. We wanted something new so settled on Curaçao. As our first visit, we debated between this property and Marriott Beach resort a bit further north. Very happy with the Renaissance decision. Prearrival, Riangelo was very helpful providing more details about the property that weren’t easily accessible online, such as menus for the hotel operated restaurants, and what was included with all-inclusive. For your convenience, I’ve attached a few photos of that stuff. We decided to go all-inclusive (which is rare for us) and glad we did. $140 pp/per day includes breakfast (do the buffet), lunch, dinner and unlimited of the included drinks. I’ve attached that list for you. :) OVERALL- 4.5/5 The property and staff were generally excellent. Food was good. Drinks were excellent. The location was convenient to mall, walking bridge and such. The best beaches were a solid 30 minute drive away (rent a car). Overall, a great place to stay! The only reason it’s not 5/5 is a number of issues that popped up, but Riangelo was incredible and took care of it! DETAILS I want to mention and thank a couple staff members by name. Rinagelo was exceptional prior and during our arrival. He deftly resolved a few things for us. I also want to say thank you to several excellent bartenders: Angelo (inside lobby bar), Rai (lobby bar) and Nassir (5 o’clock bar). Those 4 were fantastic. We visited in early December. Checkin was a breeze, and staff happily brought us more toiletries, extra towels, etc. Clean, spacious oceanfront Majestic suite. The bathroom was exceptional. Oversized soaking tub and nice sized separate shower. Also had a huge living room that we didn’t utilize much. One note: the corner location and direction of room means the room is very warm unless you keep a lot of shades down and do maximum AC. To be fair, this probably impacts the large majestic suites way more than other rooms. The food was generally good. We had room service, food poolside at Infiniti and some snacks in the lobby. We had a lot of red snapper and steak, and expresso martinis and a lot of rum and vodka drinks (absolut, stoli, Bacardi, captain included in AI plan). The man made Infiniti pool was very nice. the water, the lounging chairs, the sand, the service at the beach. All are perfect. I would say it wasn’t busy so the chair situation would get tight if it was a fuller hotel. We really annoyed the nice casino. Friendly and fun times for evening entertainment. Will say housekeeping was very average. We had to nag to get service, then ignored do not disturb signs and then skipped us all together one day. Just our experience. Non hotel related, we drove to multiple beaches. Cas Abao was easily our favorite, with playa Porto also very nice. Mambo beach was crowded bud not lively so certainly overrated imho. Bottom line: if you are in doubt, go to cas abao. Snorkeling is great and it’s work the drive. $6 USD for two chairs all day. Awesome. Thank your wonderful staff and we are very grateful. Kudos to the management for running this resort so well!!! We will see you again!

Impressive hotel, casino within hotel, hotel on site, infinity pool, safe facility, Rif Fort within walking distance with many restaurants. Go into the Ocean House restaurant and sit on the patio for an exceptional view. Not too long of a walk to downtown after walking across the bridge.

Quite disappointing and front desk staff were not friendly or welcoming. When I finally got my room, it was great. Housekeeping on the other hand was not great or dependable. Seems I got turn down service one night and other days I had to call for housekeeping, and they came later in the afternoon, maybe they need more help. I rate a 4 and with improved service it would be a 5.

After some discussion we were guided to the beach / pool location. We were offered sun beds in various locations. The day pass costs $30 US dollars per person of which $15 is a credit toward food or drink. The atmosphere was quiet which was okay. Changing facilities are available.

We were greeted warmly by the staff upon check in and were served bottled water as a welcome drink. They explained the layout and we were a bit confused to hear the beach was on level 2 but was pleasantly surprised when we eventually checked it out. The ambience was pleasant and peaceful, at no point did it feel too crowded. The beach, although it is man made was scenic and beautiful and never too crowded which made it better than Mambo beach in my opinion. The service, the food, the facilities and the little touches like providing bedroom slippers and robes made this stay exceptional. Chantal, a waitress in the restaurant was so peppy and friendly, hard not to love. All the staff were pleasant, friendly and helpful. I inplore everyone that stays here to try the buffet, especially lunch and dinner, it was phenomenal and I am still dreaming about their desserts. The blue Curaçao cake and the tiramisu were my favorites. My only regret was not eating at the restaurant more frequently. I wish they had another full restaurant in the hotel and had more vegetarian options but there are restaurants right outside the hotel, albeit a bit more expensive. I hope to return to this hotel soon, it had everything and we really enjoyed our stay.

We really enjoyed our stay. We wanted a quiet relaxing time and that's what we got. We had a noise issue the first night, but the management took care of the situation and made it right. They even offered to move us, but we enjoyed were we were. All the staff was friendly and helpful. The room was nice, it was up to date with an ocen view. Hotel itself was well maintained and clean. Nice little casino for those that enjoy that stuff. Located right beside the Rif Fort and,Punda there were a ton of shops and restaurants within walking distance. The floating bridge is a 5 minute walk. The "beach" was great. This was the first time on a vacation where you didn't have to go down at 6 to get a chair, we were able to get a pallapa at virtually anytime. We'll done !!!!!!! It's hot, but always a 30km wind to keep you cool. The cruise ships dock nearby, and we enjoyed people watching and seeing the various ships Overall great time. Shout out to Carlton.
