Great food and service at Piko!
We live in Kailua-Kona and love eating at Piko restaurant at the Outrigger hotel, here in Kona. The grilled ahi is so good and flavorful. Ask for Tracey-Ann, she’s the best! Great food, great service, live music, with no waiting on a Friday night.

Stayed here for 5 nights and had a great experience. The staff are friendly and helpful, the grounds are very well kept and are so much fun to explore! Our room on the 4th floor was newly renovated with a good view and a very comfortable bed, only downside was the water in the shower took 3-5 minutes to warm up. The room was cleaned well, we didn't ask for housekeeping service during our stay. Loved having the restaurant on site with live music, we had the breakfast buffet one morning which was okay but not worth the extra cost. The poolside Bar and Lounge had good drinks for by the pool, we didn't get to try the food, they closed too early and it would have been nice to have them as a later option other then the sit down restaurant. There's a market on site as well so you can buy cute gifts and things like, canned alcohol drinks, local snacks, and some to go food. At night you can watch the boats going out to view the manta rays, they have a spot light out so the manta come up to the hotel, although we didn't see any because of the high surf. The Manta talk was okay, thought there would be more to it, but its fun learning about the manta rays that have been around the area for years. A portion of the viewing deck and lounge area were closed because the hand rails were damaged from recent waves. The spa was also closed due to renovation. The location was perfect, we were able to walk to the marina for the manta snorkeling tour and the farmers market is located on the hotel grounds, most things are between a 15-30 minute drive, beside the national park. Parking is expensive but that's the case for all hotels on the island. We rented their snorkel gear for less then $20 per a person (we got a 20% off coupon with our stay, not sure how though) for the 4 days we needed it, which was very convenient.

Piko Coffee Shop and Restaurant.
I ordered coffee every morning with Synergy at Outrigger resorts. She was always great and a fast barista, delicious foods at Piko. I enjoyed Synergy's 😉 awesome attitude and her professionalism!! She always suggested activities and told us where things were in town, and how to get to places!!
Pedro and Hiro are so wonderful! We came for the live music and a light dinner on a Saturday night. Both are extremely attentive at their craft and food was amazing and came out quite quickly! If you’re looking for something to drink that you didn’t know you needed PEDRO...

Our stay was nothing short of amazing. We loved how the property is tucked away, and you can drive into town easily. We had a partial ocean view, which was fine since we were hardly there. The only bar and grill available was open only for nightcaps. We enjoyed the pool area, manta ray viewing, and the overall property. It seems like the manta ray viewing area was there before but needs some remodeling. One suggestion would be to improve the water pressure and temperature. The hot water in the shower and sink was inconsistent. Mahalo nui iāʻoe no ka manawaōpio Hawaiʻi.🌺🫶🏽

The hotel is fair. Restaurant food is below average and expensive. The hotel store is also very expensive. On 1/28/24 we purchased containers of poke and edamame for our dinner the following day and put it in our room refrigerator. On 1/29/25 we returned from our 11hour tour to find our food frozen. I immediately went to the front desk, with the frozen poke and edamame. The woman and the front desk was no help. Never asked my name or room number. She said she would get the manager. When the female manager came out she asked what the issue was. I showed her the frozen food and her first response was “ well we can microwave it” I explained it was poke and apparently did not care. Once again never asking for my name or room number. Needless to say they did nothing and it was too late to go anywhere for dinner. So beware

My wife and I stayed at this excellent hotel for a week in February 2025. We had a Club 47 Ocean View room on the third floor (above the 47 Lounge) which has a lovely view across the bay. The room was spacious, very clean and the carpet and furnishings looked new. It also had a good size balcony with a table, two chairs and a handy rack for drying swimming costumes etc. The Club 47 Lounge was excellent with, (apart from one evening when they appeared to be very short staffed) a good selection of complimentary food and beverages available. There is also a well stocked shop (with friendly staff) selling souvenirs, clothes, snacks and drinks. Whilst this is a large hotel it does not feel large and it was not crowded and the grounds and gardens are pretty and well kept. What puts this hotel above others is the friendly, helpful and genuinely nice staff. Chuck and his great valet parking team, Emily in the Piko Restaurant and Robyn, Whende, Tyler, Fred, Tessa, Pua, Celeste and Sharlaine in the Club 47 Lounge gave us a wonderful holiday and we were sad when we had to say goodbye. We highly recommend Outrigger Kona Resort & Spa; and hope to be able to return soon!

This place is our home away from home and we live an hour away. We fell in love the moment we first stayed at this property. Over the last few months of staying here we have gotten to know the staff who have taken excellent care of us. Jamie and Michael at the front desk are wonderful and accommodating. Sharlene and Tessa at the lounge were amazing. The two ladies at piko breakfast were also great! The location and homey feel of this place makes it feel like we are on a different island and helps us truly relax.
