Couples Swept Away

Just got back from Couples Swept Away and I cannot wait to go back. It made me feel line I was 28 again. I made a ton of friends, everyone is so nice, piano bar karaoke every night, beach is amazing. Food was great, romantic, island feel. Absolutely nothing to worry about. Tennis courts, massages, free water sports. I learned how to wind surf. Catamaran Cruise was excellent as well, really fun and breathtaking water scenery, we got to swim in these really cool caves and slide off side of the boat. So we met a bunch of ppl who have tried all different resorts around Caribbean and they all said that was the best one, they just go there now. Also the best friend i made on trip stayed at an upscale non all inclusive place and said he regretted it. Shout out to Z and Ultimate Chocolate at Piano Bar karaoke!

Another wonderful holiday at CSA with my husband, daughter and her boyfriend. This was my 3 rd visit and there were some very positive changes from previous visits. We especially enjoyed the coffee shop by the lobby. The staff were friendly and attentive, the coffee delicious and it was so nice to have the addition of gluten free cakes. The sports team were very welcoming and Narson was always around with a big smile. We very much enjoyed the tennis coaching and my daughter enjoyed the pickleball coaching. The beach was beautiful, though there was still beach- bed hogging despite letters left in everyone’s room. I was especially annoyed by an American lady who had reserved 3 seats for herself and her husband and despite me having nowhere to sit, refused to let me have the 3rd chair. The food was good, especially in the specialty restaurants, though the buffet was disappointing for me ( gluten free). Labelling was very inconsistent with maybe only one dish being labelled as gluten free. The music in Palms in the evening was appallingly loud- absolutely impossible to have any dinner conversation or hear what the server was saying. I remembered this from previous visits. It actually made the evening unpleasant. My poor husband is deaf so found it incredibly difficult. Unfortunately, as relatively late eaters, it was impossible to avoid the deafening music and being zapped by my watch warning me of the too loud environment! The breakfast music was delightful- just the right volume for eating. My other small gripe was with the reception staff ( Collington in particular).Our door swipe stopped working and we were locked out of our room for 18 hours. Reception was really quite abrupt and accused us of doing something wrong ( we hadn’t! ). Thankfully we were on the ground floor and could leave the patio door open ( not ideal) as it took 3 visits to reception to get the maintenance crew. I must add that the lady on reception was lovely. A special thank you to the chambermaids who did an excellent job of looking after our room. So, overall, we had a wonderful trip. It wasn’t perfect, but it was very good. We are very much looking forward to our return visit in September.

A wonderful 4th visit — already booked for October! This was our fourth stay at Couples Swept Away, and it once again reminded us why we keep coming back. We spent a week here in June and are already counting down to our return in October. Sports & Activities: A huge highlight was Gus, the visiting pickleball coach — he was fabulous and made the sessions so much fun. The sports facilities overall are excellent, and Stephen, who manages them, is lovely. We also noticed and appreciated that the resort had invested in upgrading the spin bikes since our last visit — a small touch that doesn’t go unnoticed by repeat guests. The Beach: As always, the beach was incredible. We got an email from the room manager about not reserving beach beds, which was a nice touch — though it’s worth reinforcing this policy a bit more consistently with guests. Guest Services: A special shout-out to Karen in Guest Services, who couldn’t have done more for us and truly made our last day special. Dining: The food was great as always — we’re partial to the à la carte restaurants, and Goodwin at Feathers was a delight on both occasions we dined there. One small suggestion: the schedule for when Palms is buffet vs. à la carte could be clearer, as we accidentally turned up expecting one and got the other. Also, a gentle request to the entertainment/sound team — the evening performances (especially the steel drums, which we love!) were a touch too loud to comfortably hold a conversation while dining, to the point my Apple Watch flagged the noise level and my boyfriend needed earplugs. Turning it down just slightly would make a big difference. One area for improvement: Unfortunately, we’ve had repeated negative experiences with one specific reception staff member, who has been curt and talked back during check-in — something we’ve now experienced on multiple visits, and my parents have had the same issue with him. Arriving after a long travel day is when guests most need a warm welcome, and this really isn’t the first impression Couples should be giving. That said, this is very much the exception — every other staff member was wonderful, and Benita on reception in particular was warm and welcoming. We visited Couples Swept Away at the end of January and unfortunately experienced some truly unprecedented bad weather, which meant we couldn’t enjoy everything the resort has to offer. The weather obviously wasn’t the hotel’s fault, but it did have an impact on our holiday. There were plenty of positives. The food was consistently excellent, and I loved that you can book the à la carte restaurants as many times as you like rather than being restricted to one or two visits. It’s a great option if, like us, you prefer table service over a buffet. The beach is stunning, the grounds are beautifully maintained, and the staff were friendly throughout our stay. The biggest disappointment for us was the evening entertainment. The main entertainment takes place in the buffet restaurant, so it doesn’t feel like a dedicated entertainment venue. It’s quite bright and lacks the atmosphere you’d expect for an evening show, especially as people are still eating dinner while it’s on. This also ends early. Once that finishes, the only evening entertainment is the piano bar. The piano bar is essentially a large karaoke night. We met several guests who return to the resort year after year some told us they’d visited more than 40 times (not joking) which creates a lovely community feel for returning guests. However, as first-time visitors, we found the evenings became a little repetitive and would have appreciated a bit more variety in the entertainment. A huge shout-out to Big Al in the piano bar, who was fantastic. He was full of personality, made us some brilliant shots and always helped create a fun atmosphere. We’d also like to mention Marky and Delon from the entertainment team, who worked incredibly hard, were always around chatting to guests and encouraging everyone to get involved in the activities. They were a real credit to the resort. One small thing to note is that if you’re staying in one of the rooms at the back of the resort, you can occasionally hear traffic from the road. It wasn’t a major issue for us, but it’s worth being aware of if you’re a particularly light sleeper. Overall, Couples Swept Away has a lot going for it: fantastic food, a beautiful beach, lovely staff and a relaxed atmosphere. While we think the evening entertainment could be improved with a dedicated venue and more variety, we still had an enjoyable stay and would recommend it to couples looking for a peaceful Caribbean escape.

What an incredible vacation! Couples Swept Away exceeded our expectations from the moment we arrived. The beautiful beach, lush grounds, and relaxed atmosphere made it the perfect place to unwind. What really made this trip unforgettable was the amazing staff. A huge thank you to Dwight at the bar for taking such great care of my sister and me all week. You made every visit fun and welcoming! Chase at the buffet went above and beyond with his outstanding service. Not only did he always greet us with a smile, but he also recommended and brought us fresh coconut for breakfast, which became one of our favorite vacation memories. A special shout-out to Tajay at Watersports for taking us out on a Hobie Cat. It was an unforgettable experience and one of the highlights of our trip. There’s nothing quite like sailing across the Caribbean with that incredible view! And finally, Verline on the catamaran tour was absolutely fantastic. She kept everyone laughing from start to finish, had so much energy, and made the excursion even more memorable. To everyone at Couples Swept Away, thank you for making us feel so welcome. We left with amazing memories and can’t wait to come back!

Fantastic! Such a layed back and relaxing resort with all the water sport activities you need without ever leaving. The food was delicious, the drinks flowed & the staff is awesome as usual. This was our 2nd stay & we brought another couple with us. They have travelled to many places & agreed that Swept Away & Jamaica can’t be beat. Make sure you take advantage of all of the included water sports. So many people miss out on everything that is included! We always found the food to be great with maybe a couple of things not agreeing with our taste buds but overall the food was excellent! If you like lamb make sure to order it. We had it at 3 different restaurants & it was cooked to perfection every time. They serve premium liquor and the beer was cold! The staff is fun & friendly. If you want elegance this is probably not the resort for you. If you want charm, beautiful landscape grounds, delicious food with plenty of choices, drinks made with premium liquor & the friendly/happy Jamaican staff then this is exactly the place for you! Seven mile beach is gorgeous. You can walk in both directions. Yes, you will get solicited by the beach vendors but a polite “no thank you” & keep walking worked just fine for us. No problem, after all the vendors are just try to make a living. It was definitely hot but between the sea & the pools we were able to cool off easily. Do yourself a favor, don’t overpack. You will be in a swim suit the majority of time! We will definitely return! Ya Mon!

This was our first time at an all inclusive resort. We visited CSA for our honeymoon and booked through a travel advisor local to us. We have lots to say about the place - with some mixed feelings about different parts of the resort. The shuttle from the airport to the resort was about an hour and a half drive, which we were aware of before and prepared for and allowed us to see several different parts of the island. Upon arrival to CSA, we were greeted with smiling faces and a glass of champagne while staff checked us into our rooms. Our bags were carried to our room for us, which was nice and they shared information about different parts of the resort and activities for the week. The rooms were nice, but not very well lit and the plugs were very few and oddly placed. Our room specifically had floor to ceiling shutters with bug nets and a small A/C unit so it was very warm during the day and only cooled down to about 82 degrees at night, which was a little disappointing but we weren't there to be in our rooms anyways... The views from our balcony were immaculate as you will see in the photos. The beach was beautiful, the white sand was fluffy and they raked it every morning. Attendants began raking sand, with a tractor, every morning around 5 or 6 am which woke us a few times. We could hear, what we assumed, were towel carts loudly rolling by on the walkways around 6 or 7 every morning and sometimes late at night which often woke us up or was a nuisance. Good service comes at a cost, though, and the service truly was great. Unfortunately, the pools were small with little seating and not near enough shade or umbrellas for the jamaican summer sun/heat. The facilities could use some updating - fresh paint, a few tiles were missing, etc. The food was wonderful and we have said several times that we don't think we had any bad food. The portion sizes were small... compared to American portions... but it served us well because we were able to try so many different things. Lemongrass and Feathers - their higher end restaurants which required reservations were nice and the food was great, but again could use some updating. Lemongrass was the only place we commented that we didn't have great service and the servers didn't seem happy to be there. We were able to be seated and served very quickly, and with smiles at all other food spots. The beach was wonderful and beautiful and there were plenty of umbrellas or shade to enjoy the beach without the blazing sun. Unfortunately, vendors were constantly up and down the beach trying to sell... anything, really. But, a firm "no" sent them on their way! Security guards were stationed on either end of the resort's beach and we never felt unsafe in any way. Water sports were included which was wonderful! The water was choppy while we were there so they didn't recommend a few things, but we got to enjoy snorkeling and wake boarding and the snorkeling team was the absolute best! We had a great time with them. I wish I took note of their names to give them a shout out. Givan at the bar was wonderful and served up anything we asked! Our housekeeper - Millette was wonderful and kept our room clean and neat. Kerissa at the martini bar made the best drinks! I wish I took note of more names of those who made our experience wonderful. Overall, the service was wonderful, the facilities were nice but could use some updating or care, the security was reassuring and made us feel safe, the rooms were cute but could use better air conditioning, the grounds were kept well and clean, the food was wonderful, and we would recommend CSA to others.

Airport Arrival: Our experience at the airport Couples Lounge was quite disappointing. The furniture was worn, and the only snacks provided were packages of banana chips. For beverages, only beer and water were readily available; I did not see any wine, though it may have been included. Hotel Arrival: We were immediately struck by the welcoming demeanor of the staff upon our arrival. Check- in was seamless. The chilled sparkling wine provided a truly refreshing experience. Accommodations: We were disappointed with the size of the room. We booked the Beachfront Verandah Suite. It was simply a room not a suite. There is only one chair in the room. There really should be a couch in the room . The bathroom was quite small and has only one sink. I would be remiss if I didn't share fact that the items we requested for the mini bar were delivered within a half hour of our arrival to our room. The balcony was large and well furnished. However, I will state that the main reason that we booked this room was for the location. The location did not disappoint. We were about 100 steps from the beach. Fresh towels were delivered during the morning maid service and in the evening during turndown. Our wonderful, kind and caring housekeeper was the one and only Fiona. We simply loved her and developed a memorable friendship with her. The Beach: WOW! One of the best beaches we have visited and we have stayed at Turks and Caicos, Grenada and Anguilla ... just to mpention a few islands. There was NO sargassum or rocks as you enter the water. Simply delightful. Flag service was available daily. Cold fruit kabobs were served on the beach as well. The Food: We thoroughly enjoyed the food. The daily selections were varied. Those darn cinnamons offered at breakfast were decadent. Generally, they had Jamaican favorites as an option for breakfast. They do need to include some non-pork meat options. We were greeted warmly daily by Carol and Odianyi. They ensured that we had everything needed to have a positive dining experience. We had no problems making reservations at the two specialty restaurants. As was suggested in some of these posts, we made reservations while we were awaiting check-in to our rooms . How could I forget the beach BBQ....everything was scrumptious, cocktails, beer and entertainment were wonderful. Unfortunately, for the scales, on a couple of occasions we indulged at the grill which was open from 10:30 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. Maybe that's why I gained a few pounds????? The Entertainment: Every night there was entertainment until about 9:00-9:30 in the main dining room. We ended the night at the night club where there was live singing and of course karaoke. Hopefully, Harlie will be there as your bartender. His mixes are fabulous,. The evening ended there with a DJ. Thus, our visit to the darn grill. OOP's don't forget to visit the martini bar.... best drinks...... We absolutely enjoyed our time here and will absolutely return!

My partner and I escaped to Couples Swept Away in Negril for five nights in June 2026—a shoulder-season getaway where the only thing we planned to overthink was which cocktail to order next. Although the resort was operating at roughly 65% occupancy, the staff were running at a full 110%. Every interaction was warm, genuine, and delivered with that effortless Jamaican hospitality that somehow makes you feel like a regular on day one. Our beachfront room was perfectly positioned in the middle of the resort, opening onto an endless stretch of powder-soft sand and an impossibly turquoise Caribbean Sea. There were always plenty of loungers, lots of natural shade, and water so calm it looked as though someone had ironed it flat overnight. The resort stretches gracefully along Seven Mile Beach, connected by a shady footpath that takes about five minutes to walk from end to end. Despite its size, everything feels pleasantly close—just enough distance to justify ordering dessert. Our room was what I'd call comfortably shabby: a wonderfully comfortable bed, a renovated bathroom, dependable air conditioning, and a spacious verandah overlooking the beach. The minibar and coffee maker live on the verandah as well, which initially seemed odd until I realized morning coffee with an ocean view is actually a pretty brilliant design decision. The Palms buffet served breakfast, lunch, and dinner with a smaller but consistently well-prepared selection. Two hot stations rotated meats, vegetables, and starches daily, while fresh fruit, salads, and desserts rounded things out. It wasn't overwhelming—and honestly, that's part of its charm. The à la carte restaurants require reservations and are well worth making. The menus offer a welcome change of pace from the buffet, and the attentive service comes with plenty of smiles, jokes, and genuine conversation. Bars are scattered generously throughout the property, serving everything from frozen tropical concoctions to top-shelf spirits. You'd have to make a determined effort to go thirsty. If your vacation momentum slows to a crawl (as it should), simply ask for a red flag and beach service comes to you. It's hard work relaxing, after all. Like any resort with a few decades of stories behind it, Couples Swept Away shows a little age here and there. But what it lacks in polished perfection, it more than makes up for in character, atmosphere, and extraordinary people. Every request was met with a smile, every interaction felt genuine, and by the time we reluctantly packed our bags, we were already discussing when we'd return. And that's probably the highest compliment I can give it.

Guest Review We are a couple (60 and 65 years old) and returning guests. We previously visited in 2019 and several times before that, and we continue to return because of two main reasons: the excellent dive team and the consistently strong service attitude across the resort. Overall Experience The dive team remains outstanding — highly professional, detail-oriented, and very supportive during boat entry, exits, and equipment checks. As older divers, safety and confidence are extremely important to us, and the team consistently delivers at a very high level. The overall staff attitude across the resort is friendly, helpful, and genuinely “above and beyond.” We also appreciate that team members interact with each other with ease and humor — this reflects a healthy and positive working environment. Dining – Palm Restaurant We were less enthusiastic about the decision to the idea to discontinue the buffet at Palm restaurant. The buffet was one of the key reasons we return to this resort, as it allows guests to eat at their own pace and sample a variety of dishes in small portions. We especially remember the red snapper — my husband still talks about it five years later. The dessert team deserves special praise — excellent quality and presentation. Areas for Improvement Fruit selection at the buffet has become more limited compared to previous visits. Coffee service: cream has been replaced with milk, which is disappointing for us. The cocktail “Dirty Banana” recipe appears to have changed and no longer includes banana, which significantly affects the taste. Service attitude at the Palm restaurant bar needs improvement. Dive Team Standing ovation for the dive team. Truly excellent. As older guests, we come specifically for safe and enjoyable diving. The team is highly professional, attentive to detail, and very supportive throughout all aspects of diving operations. Coffee Shop (Main lobby) The coffee shop is very popular and often crowded. It may be worth considering expansion or adding additional coffee machines, as there is currently only one and demand is high. Also, we would love the option of real cream again instead of milk.

We spent 7 glorious days at CSA for our honeymoon. Everyone was exceptional. We had a bumpy start but the Team at CSA fixed it. My only negative thing is the transportation from the airport! It is a long bumpy ride and I hope they can find a way to improve it. Maybe a boat from MB to Negril! I also wish they had room service 24/7.

I was a bit apprehensive about traveling with my full family on this trip, but Couples Swept Away exceeded every expectation as usual. It remains my go‑to destination for a reason. The food was consistently excellent, and the staff—always a highlight—were as warm and welcoming as ever. Omario assisted us with our bags, just as he has in past years, and he continues to be a wonderful presence and a true asset to Couples. We took full advantage of the many perks: golf, the catamaran cruise, sailing, scuba, snorkeling, and of course the incredible gym—arguably the best in Negril. The unexpected standout this time was spending several days playing pickleball, which became a favorite part of our stay. Bottom line: my wife and I are already looking forward to our return in May 2027.
