Hilton Moorea Lagoon Resort & Spa

We just stayed here 4 nights (June 2026) to start our trip. I'm glad we started here and didn't end here because this is basically like the training bras of Polynesian hotels. If you don't know any better and just need something that feels like you're getting everything you need, and you don't stay anywhere else to compare it, then it's...fine. the lobby is pretty and the property gives a good impression upon arriving. The check-in desk doesn't have any sort of line so if you're waiting with others to check in (which happens often because there are only ever 2 people working the front desk) then you sort of awkwardly bunch up around the lobby seating area. There is basically no phone reception so it's nice they give you WiFi access even before your room is ready. They gave us a promo at check-in for a discount on the Jet Lag massage so we immediately booked one and I will say, it was AWESOME, so I gotta give em credit for that. The Spa was great, and very affordable compared to other higher class hotels on the islands. It was like $130 for 50 minutes which is cheaper than I pay at home! We both fell asleep multiple times during the Jet Lag massage and I felt so rejuvenated afterwards. It's super clean and has a great vibe. Spend your time and money at the Spa not at the restaurants, which basically suck. The only good meal we had was breakfast, but luckily you're not stranded at the resort so I advise leaving for lunch and dinner if you can....there are several great places nearby you can walk to...a Thai place, a delicious poke and smoothie/acai place and an outdoor food truck hall. Make a reservation at Ke'iki, a local restaurant that's sooo nice. We got a garden bungalow, not an over water one...we've stayed at much nicer over water bungalows before, but again, these are basically the starter kit for OWBs, if you never compare it to anything else you'll be happy. But they're small and many of them have ZERO privacy. We were looking straight into so many bungalows and onto their decks while having drinks at one bar, eating crepes at the Creperie, etc. It would be super awkward, and loud, if I was staying in one that was like 10 feet from the Creperie. The garden bungalow was roomy, had outdoor decking surrounding 2 sides with privacy walls, and a plunge pool. We much preferred this. If you want better OWBs the ones at the Westin Bora Bora are way nicer (and pro tip: the ones that face the lagoon have way more privacy than the ones that face the mountain). We were disappointed with every meal we had there other than the included breakfast which was very good and had plenty of options. But every meal we had outside the hotel was great. It was $34 for one crepe at the Creperie. The only cool thing was that it's over water so fish, rays, and sharks often swim by which is cool. (Another tip: Go get the smoothies at the base of Magic Mountain for breakfast, either before or after doing the trail). Also, they give you these cards that look like room keys but they're for towels and snorkeling equipment...you have to exchange the cards for the equipment, and then when you return the equipment you get the cards back. The only problem is that station is hardly ever staffed, which is super annoying and frankly confusing because you just stand there wondering how to get towels or a snorkel, and same when you go to return them. There are almost always confused guests standing around waiting for someone to come back to that desk. After day 1 I learned that if nobody was there I would just walk behind the desk, take 2 towels, and leave my towel cards on the desk, and same when I returned the towels....all while other new guests who didn't know better stood there for 5 minutes waiting for someone. Eventually I started educating other guests to just take towels and not bother waiting for a staff person. Hilton, if you're reading this: For the prices you charge, you can afford to pay someone to stay behind that desk ALL DAY. There should ALWAYS be someone there, even if it's multiple people taking shifts, because guests are constantly taking and returning towels and equipment throughout the day. Your mgmt should have a simple rule: "Equipment desk is never to be empty ". Also, if you're reading this, educate guests that they must use the TV to 1) check messages and 2) see the room service menu. We didn't know either of these and our room phone had a blinking "messages" light but when we called the messages line it said we had no messages. That's because that is different then a message they deliver through your TV, which nobody told us. We also searched the room for 10 minutes for the room service menu before calling only to be told we have to pull it up on the TV...which was actually difficult because the remote (or the TV) wasn't responding to some inputs on the remote so it was a huge pain to navigate to the menu. So overall I'm being generous when I give this hotel 4 stars especially given the room rates and the crazy high menu prices at the medicore-at-best restaurants. Also, we and several other guests regularly had our credit card declined, even though our banks/credit card companies were not declining the charges. They tried to charge my card 4 times at checkout because it kept declining at their terminal, but after an hour on the phone with by bank and doing the transaction live, the hotel still declined it...and every other card we had. It was a huge pain and Hilton blamed our credit card, while the credit card kept blaming Hilton. We have top tier cards with excellent service (Chase Sapphire Reserve and Alaska Atmos Summit) and theor managers said "This is definitely a Hilton issue, we're not declining these charges" but the front desk refused to help. This was incredibly frustrating and even with other guests we met in the lobby saying this was also happening to them, the hotel had no interest in investigating what might be going on with their merchant machines or back end system. They just kept saying our card was declining and demanding another form of payment. So that definitely soured our last day there. Now I have 6 pending charges for the same amount at checkout at the hotel that I'm hoping drop off otherwise I will have a lot of chargeback work to go through. I wouldn't stay here again but I know some people will be perfectly happy with it. For comparison, we also stayed at the Westin Bora Bora which is head and shoulders nicer in every way, especially room quality, food quality, and service.

We were quite nervous about our stay given the mixed reviews but were more than pleasantly surprised. The service was warm and helpful especially the guest relations at the pool. We splurged for a panoramic bungalow at the far end and it was so worth it. We found our room well maintained and being able to step into the ocean from our deck was beautiful. The hotel feels intimate as there aren’t that many guests. We felt well treated as Diamond members with full buffet breakfast included. Dinners are ok but there are many nice restaurants nearby including the Moorea Beach club which has great food right on the ocean. We recommend it highly. Is it worth the high rates? Well it could be more luxurious but the setting and service were great. We were not at all disappointed. The overwater bungalows are definitely worth the upgrade.

We had an amazing honeymoon at the Hilton Moorea. Our trip was arranged through Pacific for Less, and every detail was handled flawlessly. Everything was organized so well that we never had to worry about a thing once we arrived in French Polynesia. Cathi from Pacific for Less listened carefully to what we wanted from our honeymoon and helped design an itinerary focused on relaxation. Hilton Moorea was the perfect place to start our trip. It has beautiful views and a relaxing atmosphere that helped us immediately unwind after months of wedding planning. They have snorkels, kayaks, and paddleboards that you can rent for free, which allowed us to explore the lagoon around the resort. We opted for the garden bungalow instead of an overwater bungalow and it was still tranquil and beautiful. It was our nightly ritual to sit on the patio and look up at the stars. Our days were spent by the pool and beach, where the attendants would bring us cocktails and food that we ordered. They also had events at the beach around 10:30am most mornings. The one we attended showed us how to tie sarongs. We would absolutely stay here again. The Hilton Moorea was a fantastic part of our honeymoon and we highly recommend working with Pacific for Less when planning a trip to French Polynesia.

Overall a great visit. The lagoon is crystal clean and is protected with plenty of fish to see which is great if you are relatively new to these water activities. Plenty of kayaks, snorkel gear and paddle boards for guests. Pool is nice but a bit dirty on the bottom but the lagoon is the main draw which is fabulous. We stayed in an over water bungalow which is fabulous. Pricey but worth it and what you would expect At night there is a plethora of small sharks swimming by the crepe restuarant on the bungalow pier. Some minor points. The lobby is open air but should at least have ceiling fans to help with the heat. For a ‘5 star resort’, they offer no water at the front desk. So when you are waiting in line to check in or out or waiting for a tour or transportation, no water or fans can make it quite uncomfortable. The shop is very nice. Three restaurants on site. Food was good but not great. Overall a great experience in Moorea for our first time.

Just finished an amazing stay at the Hilton Moorea. The hotel and grounds are beautiful and easy to get around. We stayed in a Garden Bungalow with Pool and loved it. It was very quiet since we were in #28 which is a little further out. The room was large and very comfortable. Our only issue was the wifi connection was spotty unless we were in the lobby or beach area. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The beach area is great with plenty of chairs and easy access to the lunch restaurant and pool area. The snorkeling in the lagoon was good - plenty to see and not crowded at all. We were also able to paddleboard which was a nice way to see the area. We did a couples massage which was excellent and actually reasonably priced for a resort. The hotel arranged dinner reservations in the next town including a free taxi to/from. We ate at all of the resort restaurants. The breakfast was wonderful but should be included in the room price. The other restaurants were good but food is quite expensive even in the grill. We really enjoyed our stay at the Hilton and would recommend it to others.

I LOVED the Hilton Moorea and would go back tomorrow if I could. Pros - I booked the King Panoramic Overwater Bungalow was assigned room 83 and it was fantastic. The room was almost at the end of the pier, had a water and Mountain View and was directly over a thriving reef. We spent our entire stay in the water by the room. - The pool and beach were beautiful but didn’t really use it because the lagoon was just so good. - We stayed for 3 nights, which was the minimum I’d recommend. When we left for Bora bora we questioned if we should have stayed in Moorea longer, that’s how much we loved it. -Check-in was seamless. We arrived early and were able to hang out in the pool while we waited for our room to be ready. - The resort provides free snorkels and the snorkeling is incredible!! They also have free kayaks and paddle boards. - The Crepe place is great with the sharks at night. That was my husband’s favorite thing of our entire trip. Cons - Other than crepe place, the food is mediocre and very expensive - rent a car and leave to get food - we did the buffet for the Polynesian dance, skip it - The gym is okay, gets the job done, but leaves something to be desired

My wife and I were celebrating our anniversary at the Hilton Moorea Lagoon Resort & Spa and she had her heart set on a beautiful black Tahitian pearl. After doing quite a bit of research on the best places to buy pearls in Moorea, Pearl Romance was the only shop that consistently stood out with glowing recommendations. We’re so glad we chose them! From the very beginning, their service was exceptional. They arranged complimentary transportation to and from our hotel. Julia picked us up right on time and made the drive incredibly enjoyable. She’s not only friendly but also incredibly knowledgeable — she gave us a wonderful mini-tour of the island and shared so much of Moorea’s rich history and culture along the way. It really made the whole trip feel special. When we arrived at the store, we were blown away by the massive selection of stunning black Tahitian pearls. The variety in size, shape, luster, and settings was impressive, and the quality was clearly top-tier. Julia and Naley took their time with us, answered all our questions, and never made us feel rushed. Their expertise and genuine desire to help us find the perfect piece for my wife made the entire experience memorable and stress-free. We left with a gorgeous pearl that my wife absolutely loves — it’s now a beautiful reminder of our anniversary in French Polynesia. If you’re in Moorea and looking for high-quality Tahitian pearls with outstanding service, I cannot recommend Pearl Romance enough. They turned a simple shopping trip into one of the highlights of our vacation. Thank you Julia and the entire team! Highly recommended!!

Pros: incredible views and beautiful peaceful groups. Likely the best snorkling on the island in terms of calm waters and abundant sea life. The rooms were very spacious with a wonderful private patio and pool. People were very nice and especially Pierre at the pool. Crepe place to eat was super fun. It was a very unique experience to eat while watching the sunset above with fish and sharks below. Cons: the rooms itself as a bit tired and even dirty/moldy behind the falling off wallpaper. Thankfully the rooms itself was not musty smelling. No babysitting or kids club available. Food was not super delicious but if adequate taste. Overall a good stay.

We had a wonderful time here in Moorea. The resort is well kept and everyone is extraordinarily friendly, helpful and kind. We stayed in an Overwater Bungalow, which we can recommend to everybody. Waking up to fishes chasing each other around your balcony is a one of a kind experience. Our room was very big and clean. The minibar is stocked every day. There was some maintenance going on, which resulted in minor noise throughout the resort, but it did not bother us that much. The food at Rotui grill is good, but we were a bit disappointed by the food at the Polynesian Night at the restaurant. The show however was great! All in all, it certainly feels like a 5 Star Resort.
