Nayara Tented Camp

Our stay at Nayara Tented Camp was inspired by wonderful memories of a previous visit to another Nayara Collection property in Bocas del Toro. We have long admired the brand's thoughtful architectural design, attention to detail, and genuine hospitality, so we arrived with high expectations. Our luxury tent was beautifully designed and became an experience in itself. Every detail felt intentional, from the elegant furnishings to the private plunge pool and the incredible outdoor shower, which quickly became one of my favorite features. Surrounded by lush rainforest, the accommodations offered a wonderful sense of immersion in nature while still providing every modern comfort. One small disappointment was that our tent did not enjoy the expansive volcano and canopy views featured throughout the website. Instead, our view was primarily of the surrounding trees with neighboring bungalows visible through the foliage. While still beautiful, it was different from what we had anticipated. We also experienced one afternoon where a crew of workers was in the trees directly beside our deck while we were relaxing by our private pool, which understandably diminished the sense of privacy. We shared our concerns with management, who responded with genuine care and professionalism. Their sincere apology and thoughtful adjustment to our stay reflected the level of hospitality that has made us appreciate the Nayara Collection. The experiences offered through the resort were exceptional and became the heart of our visit. We chose several private excursions, and having the opportunity to explore Costa Rica in such an intimate way created deeply meaningful connections to the region, its landscapes, and its people. The standout experience of our entire trip was surprisingly the Mixology Class with Jose. It was far more than learning to craft cocktails, it became an extraordinary journey into Costa Rican culture, history, traditions, and local ingredients. Jose is one of the most remarkable ambassadors for his country that we've ever met. His warmth, storytelling, knowledge, and passion transformed what could have been a simple activity into one of the most memorable experiences of our entire vacation. If you visit, request Jose, you will not regret it! One advantage of staying at Nayara Tented Camp is having access to all three Nayara properties, allowing guests to enjoy the restaurants, pools, and facilities throughout the collection. This adds wonderful variety to your stay. One consideration for couples seeking a particularly tranquil retreat is that Nayara Tented Camp is very family-friendly. During our visit there were many young children enjoying the resort, and at times the pools and common areas became quite lively with frequent screaming and crying. We often found ourselves retreating to the serenity of our private tent to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere we had hoped for. Families will likely appreciate this welcoming environment, but couples looking for a quieter escape may want to keep this in mind. Overall, we truly enjoyed our stay. The architecture is stunning, the accommodations are luxurious yet immersed in nature, the staff is gracious, and the experiences offered are among the finest we've encountered. For those who appreciate thoughtful design, meaningful cultural immersion, and exceptional hospitality, Nayara Tented Camp offers a memorable Costa Rican escape.

Our stay at Nayara Tented Camp was an absolute dream for our entire family. From the moment we arrived, the service was warm, thoughtful, and deeply personal. Every member of the team went above and beyond to make us feel cared for, and we formed genuine connections with several staff members that made the experience even more special. We were also incredibly grateful for the beautiful room upgrade. The accommodations were extraordinary, with every detail feeling both luxurious and deeply connected to the surrounding rainforest. The spa was another highlight. Our outdoor massages were truly magical, surrounded by the sounds and beauty of nature. It was one of those rare experiences that felt completely transporting. Nayara Tented Camp felt both elevated and deeply welcoming. It was a perfect family experience, and one we will remember for years. We cannot recommend it highly enough.

This place truly is special. Our accommodations were just stunning. The view, the thermal pool on our deck, the beds, the bathrooms, the indoor/outdoor showers. I could go on and on. Staff is so friendly and helpful and not in a weird transactional way, in a genuine way. So many of the staff mentioned how much they love their jobs and they all seemed to genuinely be happy and get along with each other. Food overall was excellent. It was fun to try new/local cuisine that was so fresh! Loved all the animals on property. The spa was spectacular. I don't always do spa on vacation because I feel as though I am just paying more for something similar or better at home. But this spa is WORTH IT! Being outside in the jungle with the rain beating down around us was magical. I could go on and on but the bottom line is this place is worth the hype!

The entire Navara Tented Camp was absolutely beautiful. The “tent” was the most luxurious “hotel/resort room” I’ve ever stayed in; very roomy, comfortable, with a beautiful deck with heated pool, outdoor shower along with breathtaking views. The many restaurants were excellent, offering free breakfast (buffet and order off menu). Lunch and dinner offerings were comparable to excellent restaurants In the U.S. The numerous pools throughout Navara offered all provided beautiful settings. There is also an “adults only” pool.

Absolutely incredible stay and experience. As soon as we arrived, we were welcomed with world-class service that exceeded every expectation. Every member of the staff was genuinely warm, attentive, and seemed to anticipate our needs before we even had to ask. The tent itself was stunning—luxurious, spacious, and thoughtfully designed while still feeling immersed in the rainforest. Waking up to the sounds of nature and enjoying the private plunge pool with views of Arenal Volcano was unforgettable. The food was exceptional throughout the resort, with every meal feeling like a fine dining experience. The grounds were beautifully maintained, and the wildlife around the property made every walk an adventure. We saw sloths, monkeys, toucans, hummingbirds, and countless other birds right on the resort. What truly sets Nayara Tented Camp apart is the level of hospitality. The staff made us feel like valued guests from beginning to end and genuinely cared about making our stay special. This was easily one of the best resorts we’ve ever stayed at, and we can confidently say it lived up to every bit of the praise it receives. We loved every minute of our stay and can’t wait to come back. If you’re considering staying here, don’t hesitate—you won’t regret it.

My family of 5 just spent 4 nights in a family tented camp, and it was truly amazing! The “tent” was nothing short of luxurious, as was the entire sprawling, lush property. We especially loved the hot springs area, where there are a series of secluded pools, and a great bar complete with swings as stools. The staff was incredibly kind, helpful and readily available. Delicious food and drinks to complete our wonderful stay!

This resort will leave you with zero regrets! The views, the gorgeous property, the flora and fauna, the accommodations, it is all flawless! And the food! We never left the property as the food variety was varied and exceptional! But what really seals the deal, what brought us back to this property (when typically, we do not visit the same place twice), what will bring us back again next year, is the staff. They really made us feel like we are at our luxury home away from home. We saw many familiar faces from the year before. This is a testament to how much they love where they work and tells me the owners treat the staff well too! See you in 2027 Nayara! We miss you already!

Where do I even start? The entire resort is dialed in and they pay attention to every little detail. The atmosphere is spectacular- from the views, the layout of the resort, down to the details and decorations in the rooms. The food is amazing and there is such a great variety of cuisine. Our favorite was Chef Mo at Ayla and his middle eastern inspired dishes. We loved the frog tour led by a Nayara adventure expert. It truly felt like we were transported into the beautiful Costa Rican rainforest with all the comforts of a luxurious resort. We were missing Nayara even before we left. We want to come back. Pura Vida 🤙🏽

The property is beautiful, peaceful and tranquil! La Fortuna itself was great with so many things to do. We were so glad we went. The property is just a 10 minute drive down the mountain into the town so it's close enough to enjoy the town but far enough to be out of the busy-ness. Everything from check in to check out was really excellent. The staff was so lovely, friendly, helpful and wonderful Costa Rican ambassadors. Every golf cart ride to dinner we learned something new or the driver showed us an animal off the cart path. We stayed in a family tent with our 2 teenagers and it was more than enough room and privacy for all of us. The bathroom and closets are large with both an indoor and an outdoor shower. There were so many in-room amenities including the mini bar plus an incredible breakfast at the restaurant or available delivered to the room. The hotel is so well done and quite new so in really excellent condition. Every single place we went on property was super clean. I'm not sure how they keep a jungle-y rain forest property so clean but it was! We never heard a single noise from any other room. The tents are all spread out and at different angles, orientations and level so super private. And the thermal pools were so nice! We really enjoyed the one in our room but we also tried out the different ones on property that all had different temperatures. It was so relaxing, The pools are plenty big and nicely separated from each other and nestled into the trees. We've been to a lot of nice hotels and honestly, this is one of the best at any price but compared to what we paid up in the Papago Peninsula this was half the price. We all thoroughly enjoyed it and would not hesitate to recommend Nayara. We'll definitely look to stay at a Nayara in other locations.

The best resort experience we have ever had. We stayed in a unit with a king bed with two side beds (unit Colibri #8). It looked pretty much exactly like the example images shown on their website. Private with an amazing view and your own private hot spring plunge pool. All the units also have separate indoor and outdoor showers. The overall resort is large and uncrowded with beautiful grounds and multiple restaurants, bars, and public pools. Tying it all together was the incredible service provided by the staff. Every member of the team seemed eager to help, genuine, and all seemed to be proud of their work at Nayara and interested in making our stay as perfect as they could make it.

Our experience at Nayara Tented Camp was a 10 out of 10. I didn’t know quite what to expect having never been there in person when I booked online. However, when we arrived, we were greeted so warmly with fresh watermelon drinks and cold towels. They were so kind, and personable! Our room was amazing. The service was impeccable. The food was beyond expectations. The views were magical..The entire property is absolutely gorgeous. We saw so much wildlife on property if you didn’t want to leave, you wouldn’t have to. I do not have one negative thing to say about our experience. I truly hope that I can get back to this place one day! If you are considering booking, don’t hesitate another minute. Treat yourself to this truly amazing place!

The BEST experience!!! The hotel is beautiful, our grand tent was amazing rven having robes and slippers for the kids. The staff were top notch, always so positive, helpful and welcoming making it such a personal experience. The golf cart rides were fun and informative with the staff always showing us where the sloths were spotted that day, taking the extra time to create wonderful memories. The restaurants were all delicious for breakfast, lunch and dinner!! The musicians/singers were also amazing making the dinners even more special and memorable. The playground and ping pong table gave some extras for the kids to be entertained. The complimentary yoga was perfect as well as the complimentary night frog tour!

If you are considering Costa Rica, I hope this review convinces you to go and stay at Nayara Tented Camp. We have been fortunate to travel and stay at some of the nicest resorts available, including several Montage, Four Seasons, and other luxury brands. We were absolutely blown away by Nayara Tented Camp. "Magical" is the only word to describe it. "Perfection" also comes to mind. The setting is stunning, the staff is the best we have ever experienced, the food is fantastic. We didn't even realize there is a full hot springs area complete with bar/restaurant. We almost booked a day pass at Tabacon and were so glad we didn't since Nayara has its own hot springs on property. The tented camp is by far the way to go. It is the newest and most beautiful, though the other resorts were also nice. The included breakfast is a beautiful buffet AND a plated menu -- you choose one or both and the food is top-quality. This resort feels exclusive, personal, and wonderous. There are sloths, tree frogs, lizards and countless other creatures right on the property. The staff will slow the golf cart just to point out wildlife in its natural habitat. Best of all, it feels like the staff genuinely care about sharing their beautiful country and resort with you. One small example: A toucan was the only thing we hadn't seen in Costa Rica. On our last day just before checkout, the gentleman helping with our bags found one on property and came back to get us and take us over to the toucan just so we could see it before we left. Truly incredible. My review here doesn't even capture how amazing tis place is. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

Our family has traveled around the world and stayed in different resorts many times, Nayara has to be one of the best overall experience we have had. The service was perfect, everyone was over the top friendly. The food was amazing. Each meal was very tasty and had great options for kids. (Age 10-12). The wildlife around the property was fun to see, and the room amenities were great. (Beds, showers, AC…. Everything worked great and was comfortable). Overall we had no issues and would likely return to this property one day, or try another one of the properties they own.

We stayed in Nayara Tented Camp for an anniversary trip. It was the best stay of my life. The resort grounds were stunning and meticulously kept. The staff was out at every turn keeping up walkways and brush. They joyfully would point out wildlife as we would walk by. Everyone said hello with a kind smile before we even had the chance to. The service at every pool and restaurant were top notch. We were brought a cold beverage within a minute of sitting down at a random poolside chair. If we needed a golf cart ride they were there within minutes. They always greeted us joyfully and asked about our day and stopped to point out any wildlife along the way. Another thing I noticed is the way the staff would also greet eachother in passing with a warm hello and their first name. They all seemed so happy to be there which isn’t the case at other resorts. It can feel very much like “forced niceties”. Our room was spacious and stunning. Everything about the room including the lighting and furniture colors were calming and inviting. It truly felt like we’re were staying in the middle of the jungle but with every luxury imaginable. The private outside shower was one of our favorite amenities that we didn’t anticipate appreciating so much. Showering outside in the middle of an afternoon downpour was incredible. The six thermal hot springs were another favorite. Bouncing around every afternoon while enjoying a drink was a highlight. It was so fun if we caught an afternoon storm while enjoying them. It added to the experience for us. All I can say, if that if you can stay here, do it at least once. You won’t be sorry. And go for the tented camp experience if you can. We were a couple with no kids on this trip and having families on this side did not bother us one bit. It never felt like there were a lot of children around. The tented camp accommodations is worth the splurge to enhance the rainforest experience.

AMAZING RESORT!!! 10 out of 10!!!! I would recommend this resort time after time! We stayed in Casa Paloma tent - nothing short of Gorgeous! The spacious room gave my 4 adult children, husband and I the space we needed to spread out, while enjoying family time together. The views from our pool were breathtaking, We truly felt like we were in the middle of the jungle!! The entire property has such a personal feel. The amount of time each employee spent getting to know our entire family and making us feel like we were the only ones there was truly incredible! Raquel and her team helped plan and pull off a surprise engagement for my son and his finance. The time and attention to detail was spectacular! Each and every attendant that picked us up in a golf cart was so kind - took the time to get to know us, wanted to share their knowledge about the flora and animals, and also wanted to teach us more Spanish - those are the little things that make a vacation top notch! It was absolutely a perfect vacation in one of the most beautiful parts of God’s world! If you want a special vacation in a beautiful resort with staff paying attention to EVERY DETAIL, Nayara is the place!!!

So beautiful, the property is gorgeous and offers some amazing hot springs. The service is outstanding and truly made the experience so wonderful. All the staff are knowledgeable about the nature surrounding and make a point to show you and tell you all about the amazing nature of Costa Rica. Our favorite was the service given by Graevin, he made sure our stay was special and exceptional. We adored him and were always so glad when he came to pick us up. His excitement and knowledge of the frogs made a very special for our kids. Our kids were so excited to see all the frogs so closely. We also loved Francisco! He was so kind and funny and also helped make our stay so special. We had breakfast on our own patio every morning, which helped make every morning relaxing. We will be back and plan to recommend this place to all of our friends.

My fiancée and I visited Nayara Tented Camp for the second time, and once again, it was an absolutely incredible experience from start to finish. Everything — from the seamless check-in to the beautiful room and amazing restaurants — was exceptional. A special thank you to some truly wonderful people who made our stay so memorable: Ariel at the check-in desk, who was an absolute delight and so warm and welcoming; Joseph at Ayala Restaurant; Mary Paz at Asia Luna; and Grieven our golf cart Guy.
