Nayara Tented Camp

We spent Christmas at Nayara Tented Camp and couldn’t have had a better time. The tents are like canvas-sided villas, luxurious and well appointed and the beds are roomy and comfortable. The private pool is actually a hot tub filled with water from the hot springs so it will an amazing amenity to have and totally private. The restaurants were all far better than we even expected and the property is literally in the rain forest. We were visited by birds all day long while in our pool. It is green and lush and a peaceful place. The staff literally cannot do enough for you and they are all happy to talk to you about the property and the wildlife and to help you spot creatures. Even a security guard who just spied us walking motioned to us, took us down another path and pointed out a sloth. Oh and sloths on the property, amazing! Also, do the tours! We booked private Mistico hanging bridges tour an having the private guide with a telescope was the only way to go. He helped us get so many shots with our phone cameras through the telescope. Also the guided night walk, we saw so many nocturnal creatures. Both tours would be great for adults and kids. Views of the Arenal volcano all over the property just made it feel like a post card. HIGHLY recommend this place and although we loved the tented camp the best as it was purely in the rain forest section and felt very “wild” the entire property is 3 resorts in one and the golf carts can take you to any of the restaurants and spas and pools so it was a lot of value and variety for the money. We will definitely be back!

This trip was perfection - in every aspect. The atmosphere is relaxing and they created this resort in the middle of the rainforest. We truly got the most out of this location with the goal to explore the natural habitat. We saw so many amazing animals from our room and resort. There are hot springs on the resort, so you don’t have to leave to find them. The food and multiple resultant choices were fantastic. You can tell the staff (from grounds keepers, laundry, to concierge, transportation, and restaurant staff) take pride in hospitality and are genuinely happy and friendly people. Everyone cared about our experience. The rooms were incredibly well kept and clean with beautiful interior design. All the activities were organized through our hotel concierge with guides who made sure our experiences were seamless on and off the property. Many classes and complimentary experiences were also offered on the resort property. The resort is perfect for couples or families with children. There is something for everyone.

I just returned from the most unforgettable stay at Nayara, and I’m still floating on cloud nine. From the moment we arrived, we were treated with such genuine care that it felt like stepping into another world—one I didn’t even know could exist. Our romantic dinner for two was pure magic: beautifully prepared dishes, candlelight, and a setting that felt straight out of a dream. The cooking class and wine pairing were just as incredible—fun, delicious, and so thoughtfully guided that we left feeling like gourmet chefs. But the experience that truly transformed the trip was the wellness side of it all. The yoga class was serene and grounding in a way I’ve never experienced before, and the deep tissue massage was hands-down the best I’ve ever had. I walked out feeling renewed in body and soul. Nayara didn’t just give us a vacation; it gave us a feeling—of being cared for, inspired, and completely at peace. I can’t wait to return.

I've been to many 5 star hotels and resorts and none of them even come close to Nayara Tented resort. What really differentiates them from all others is the staff. I felt like they were family and was sorry to leave. They go above and beyond for everything !! Their pura vida energy and attitude is unreal. The resort itself is one of a kind. A truly magical place down to every detail. If you like service and exquisite rooms and surroundings and a variety of gourmet food choices then this is the place for you. In particular a shout out to Carolina who is the manager extraordinary!

My husband and I visited Nayara Tented Camp for our first time to Costa Rica. We were blown away by the service and amenities, which were unlike any we had experienced before. Nayara is a beautiful resort - it is clear that they put intentional care into the grounds and facilities. The rooms are beautiful, spotlessly clean, and the views of Volcán Arenal are stunning. The complimentary yoga every morning and wildlife on the resort are so unique! Nayara also curates a number of well-planned excursions - Our guides, Levi and Jeremy, were both so knowledgeable about the wildlife and we learned much more about the Costa Rican culture than we would have doing tours on our own. While we had a number of amazing views and experiences, the people are what I loved the most. Nelson, Christian, and Celeste at the concierge are so sweet and knowledgeable. Any time we had questions they jumped into action. Pablo, Byron, Joseph, and Claudia at Ayla were amazing hosts/hostesses. They made thoughtful recommendations and great conversation! Ayla and its staff were 10/10 but our favorite spot on resort was Henry’s Bar. José is an expert mixologist and great person. We came back every night, not just for his delicious drinks, but mostly for the good company, stories, and many many laughs. We also did his Mixology Class and learned a few recipes to bring back to our home bar. Josue, Yarling, Everson, and Andrey were all fantastic. We had many laughs with this crew and their conversation made our trip one to remember. We can’t wait to come back to see them! I recommend the coffee tour at Don Juan followed by the coffee roasting class with Arianna. She was knowledgeable, so sweet, and a great instructor! I also highly recommend the cooking class at La Terrazza. Nayara does not have a ton of traditional Costa Rican dishes on their menus so this experience gave me what I was hoping for. Joshua and the chefs there were great to spend time with. We have already made the recipes they taught us at home! Thanks to all we met at the resort, they truly made it the most memorable and are the reason we want to return. ¡Pura Vida!

I cant say enough about the great experience we had at Nayara Tented Camp. Everything was perfect and we were taken such great care of by the entire team of Nayara. Our tent was perfect. Enough and more room for our family of 3. The plunge pool in the room fed by the natural spring water was amazing and so was the outdoor shower. Fabiola did an awesome job of cleaning our room everyday. The entire team at Nayara is so invested in making sure that you have a great experience so they track your itinerary and keep checking in to make sure everything is going as planned. The attempt to always address you by your name is so meaningful and the whole staff does a great job about doing that. Ana in the activities department helped to organize a special visit to a local Hogarcito. She accompanied us in the visit and also took part in a small activity we did with the kids. Clearly she represented her values - family, country and Nayara so well. Adrian, Isaac and Joshua drove us around in the golf carts with smiling faces. They were a few others as well but cant recall their names. Both the drivers that ferried us back and forth from Liberia were so nice as well. Fabricio and Tanna at the front desk were great and so was the entire staff at Ayla where we had our breakfast everyday. Food and Service at all the restaurants we went were excellent. We couldnt go to the adults only restaurants. Maybe Nayara can look at loosening the rules on that a little bit.Perhaps lower the age requirements. The staff told us that they were at 100% occupancy but we never felt any rush anywhere. Wildlife sighting at the property was great. We saw sloths, toucans, howling monkeys and so many birds. Definitely going back !!!

I wish everyone had the chance to stay at Nayara Tented Camp. This place will heal your mind, body and soul. The natural beauty surrounds you across the entire property. The tents are luxurious and include a huge closet, bathroom and outdoor shower. The fine dining is top/notch including a free breakfast with unlimited, world-class fruit juice. The best part, however, is the staff. They make you feel like family. I checked-out just yesterday and am already missing their big smiles, easy laughs and can-do attitudes. I am lucky enough to have stayed at several award-winning resorts and this place just might be my favorite.

We stayed at Nayara tented camp for our honeymoon and it was the most wonderful and unique experience. Our time at Nayara was so special and certainly something we will remember forever. We are already planning anniversary trips back. The staff were SO KIND, professional, and attentive. We felt so taken care of without feeling overwhelmed. The resort was so clean and just spectacular with the views and landscaping. It rained for 90% of our entire stay and it was still just the best. A few staff members were absolutely amazing - Brian and Daniel who drove us in golf carts, they took time to point out lots of wildlife for us. José and Andre at Henry’s bar made delicious drinks and were great to hangout with. The hotel manager, Carolina, was so kind and passionate, it was so special to get to sit and talk with her for an hour to hear about the behind the scenes and history. The live music entertainment at dinner (particularly Steven who played the violin) were some of the most talented musicians who matched the dinner vibes perfectly. Our drivers to and from the airport, Ignacio and Angel were wonderful, kind, knowledgeable and got us where we needed to be comfortably and safely. Levi was our private tour guide for the hanging bridges, he was so knowledgeable about all the wildlife and the area, and was just so fun to be with for the day! Finally, the housekeeping staff went above and beyond to keep our room looking so beautiful and clean throughout the stay. All of the food was delicious and especially the breakfasts!! Our only complaint would be that we wished we saw the volcano more - so if and when you see it, take it all it in and take lots of photos. Again, I can’t express this enough - this was the best hotel we’ve ever been to and we were so thankful we could spend our honeymoon here.

Nayara Tented Camp and the entire Nayara Property is bar none one of the most beautiful places we have ever stayed at. It was so serene, and it felt like you were in a remote jungle, but you had top notch service, beautiful rooms, restaurants, hot springs, pools, beautiful trails to explore, a gym, yoga etc. 1.) THE ROOM! - we booked the family tented camp for ourselves, and our two adult children (21 and 23). It was so cool to see their faces and hear their comments when we arrived at the room. They were immediately taking pictures, and face timing their friends to show them the room and the surroundings. Our room was huge! Beautiful bathroom with shower, changing room, large outdoor shower, comfy King Bed, wet bar with snacks, drinks, beer for no charge - Wine and Liquor (there is a charge). The outside deck had a spring fed hot pool - AMAZING!. The kids room was across the way, and there is a deck that separates the two rooms. They had their own balcony/deck outside their room. The kids room was a typical sized hotel room, but perfect for the stay. You couldn't ask for a nicer place to relax and enjoy your time at Nayara. 2.) THE EMPLOYEES! - Pablo, Valeria, Jose, Josay, and Darian to name a few, were so friendly, and helpful. A+ Service throughout the entire resort from the people I mentioned above to the room service and housekeeping. You never wanted for anything. Pablo was our "concierge host", he met us the first night and gave us an overview of the resort and our room. He was kind and helpful when we needed to change our restaurant reservations, and he also had Jose the bartender at The Henry make us the special shot of Chili Water (Chiliguaro) - a spicy bloodmary shot. Everyone that stays at Nayara has a concierge host, and if he isn't working, the other concierges are there to help. There is someone always in the lobby to help. Valeria works at the Reception Center. This is where you start your journey with Nayara. Your transfer drops you off, the bellmen pick up your luggage, and you, and bring you to the Welcome Center. You also go to the Reception Center for transportation and pick up for excursions. Valeria was so sweet and helpful.. she literally talked us into not cancelling our rafting trip, and we were so glad we went on the trip! What an experience! Jose and Josay were the bartenders at The Henry Bar. They are so fun, entertaining, and nice young men. They made THE BEST drinks, and we had such a nice time talking with them, and getting to know them. Darian is one of the many bellman, he was similar age as our kids.. they connected with him immediately. We didn't use the bellman very much as we liked to walk the resort for exercise. There is a lot of uphill walking... so if you are not up for the walking, be sure to take the bellman golf cart. 3.). HOUSEKEEPING - they kept the room impeccable, and the turn down service was great too! 4.) ROOM SERVICE - every time they delivered breakfast to the room, or we needed anything, they were timely and so friendly and helpful! 5.) RESTAURANTS - our favorites for dinner were - Asia Luna, La Terraza, Mis Amores. Our favorite for breakfast was Ayala. We also had breakfast on our patio, which was relaxing and amazing. The service and food was so delicious! Fresh and Healthy. The MI CAFECITO ESPRESSO BAR and Nostalgia Wine Bar were wonderful experiences as well. The Wine Bar was trying out Charcuterie Boards, and they gave us a delicious board for no charge. It really made our wine experience extra special. OVERALL - Everything was POSITIVE, we didn't have one negative thing to share with Pablo when we checked out. We stayed for 4 nights, but there was so much to do and see at the resort, you could easily stay for a week. We cannot wait to come back to Nayara Tented Camp, we want to live in Costa Rica! What a beautiful country. The PEOPLE, FOOD, CLEANLINESS, SUSTAINABILITY! We cannot stop talking about Nayara!

We have visited the Nayara resorts in Costa Rica 10 times now. This was our first time staying in the tended camp and it was amazing. All of the Villas have private plunge pools which is one of our favorite perks. There is so much to do on site that you never really have to leave and honestly we mainly don't. We enjoy coming back and seing familiar faces every time. The team members who went above and beyond to make our stay great included Claudia, Nelson, Karen, Andres and Henry. Costa Rica is by far our favorite place in the world and Nayara is one of those special Resorts that always makes us feel like coming home. Until next time!

I wish there was a way to describe how amazing this experience was for our family. It was just unbelievable. The resort was absolutely breathtaking and perfectly maintained, as was our room, and the service- I've literally never experienced anything like it in my life and I've worked in hospitality my entire career. It was above and beyond in every respect- from the room service, to guest services, to the tour guides. We couldn't even believe the attention to detail. Calling attention to two individuals that went above and beyond- William (Willy) who was in guest services who made the trip extra special for our girls- he drove is on the golf cart and took us around until we found one of the few sloths that live on property so the Giles could see the only sloth we saw the whole trip. Magical! Then took us to the property frog pond after dinner so the girls saw like 9 different species of frogs - it was so educational! He was the best. Also- Levi!- our tour guide on the Hanging Bridges and Fortuna Waterfalls tour. He was so kind and fun and patient and knowledgeable. He spent all day with us and taught the girls so much along the journey. He was so patient with our little one as she talked him through her entire stuffed animal inventory, and he even bought her the ONLY one she didn't own at the end of the tour- a choati!- which we saw along the route! It was the perfect day with the best guide. He even taught them Spanish words they are still saying back here at home in NYC. I can go on about the attention to detail but I'll never stop. I'll recommend this place to everyone. The beauty was endless and we will definitely be back.

I'm a very picky and demanding person and I have 0 complaints about this place. We stayed four nights at Nayara Tented Camp and everything was good! Here's my experience: 1. The room was spacious and comfortable 2. Breakfast in room had a lot of choices. Everything was wrapped / bottled, so it felt really clean 3. The free activities in the hotel were enjoyable - bird watching, herping, sloths finding. Be sure to go to yoga at 7am as they will give you a coconut 4. When we checked out I asked for a bottle of water to take it with me for the ride to the airport. To my surprise, they gave us two huge glass bottles. I was surprised because even at my previous luxury hotels, they only gave us small glass bottles or a normal plastic bottle of water. I even asked to to pack some food from the breakfast buffet to take it with me (we've already had breakfast) and they allowed me to do this. 5. The in-room snacks and the drinks are free too. We really enjoyed eating local snacks 6. The buggy always came within 7 minutes. We never had to wait long. 7. The Italian restaurant was superb. I went three times!

Nayara Tented Camp was an amazing experience! We typically do beach trips when going on vacation but glad we tried something different. Everything was truly 5 stars - the service, food, excursions, rooms, the grounds and rainforest were beautiful. It was such a great experience, that we are planning to come back next year with our extended family. We are also planning on staying at other Nayara hotels going forward, we had never heard of this hotel brand but can't wait to explore what else they have to offer.

I just returned from an amazing stay at this resort, and I have to give a special shout-out to Noel and Luis, two incredible bartenders. They definitely stood out as our favorite people – super friendly, extremely helpful, and they made the best drinks! They really went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and always had great recommendations and attentiveness. While Noel and Luis were incredible, I have to say everyone at the resort was incredibly kind and friendly. The whole team was more than willing to help and made our stay truly special. unforgettable! We can’t wait to come back for a third time! Marcus

I don’t usually write reviews but this place is so spectacular that I feel compelled to write this! My husband and I had the most amazing 5 days at Nayara Tented Camp! First, we have to give a major shout out to the staff, especially Joseph at Ayla and Andrey at Harry’s Bar! They were both so kind and great at their jobs, we loved seeing them every day and will miss them! Overall, the entire staff (and the people of Costa Rica in general) were lovely, kind, and genuinely great at their jobs! The “tent” is unbelievable - huge, well-decorated, exceptionally clean (and I’m super picky about hotel cleanliness), with a view of the Arenal volcano that takes your breath away! The resort grounds are stunning with amazing wildlife (sloths and toucans!!) and the food at the restaurants is superb (shout out to the chef at Ayla’s, best restaurant on the property)! We went on great excursions (canyoning with PureTrek and ziplining/hanging bridges) and the transportation for all was super easy - the resort is well-located, we didn’t have to drive far to anything). We loved every minute of our stay and highly recommend this resort - we’ll be back!

We didn’t know what the word paradise meant until we visited Nayara. It was our first time to Costa Rica and we came for our honeymoon. We were greeted with a welcome drink and the friendliest staff. The golf carts were a bonus taking us wherever we needed on the grounds just a phone call away. Waiting for a golf cart is up to 8 minute wait, but mostly around 4-5 minutes. The golf cart drivers are truly themselves, personable and happy to spot wildlife to show you. Our room was a dream with our own private thermal system pool surrounded by the lush rainforest. The tented camps are very private and secluded, giving you the perfect relaxation vibe. The restaurants were all 5 stars with our favorites being Nostalgia, Ayla and Amor Loco. Nostalgia is perfect for a date night and we highly recommend the wine pairing which was the highlight of our food and drink experience. Ayla surprised us being on of our favorites for breakfast and local food. Amor Loco gave jazz club vibes and served delicious Italian dishes. The wait staff was outstanding and gave great recommendations for food. The public thermal pools were also very private, with a variety of pool options. It was great having the Lapas bar connected to the cooler pool and the thermal pools all within a path away to hop between. At this time of year, a few of restaurants (fine dining, ice cream store) and the swim up pool (Cielito Lindo) were closed for reconstruction. They had some excellent icecream at other restaurants so we didn’t miss out there. The Sukha Spa was serene, relaxing and perfect to do with your partner. We did the Nayara Signature experience and we enjoyed it. I did feel as though my massage therapist rushed a little but my husband’s massage was thorough with great pressure. I recommend thinking about what you would like them to focus on body part wise before going in so you can tell them where you would like to be massaged. All the products smelled amazing and you’ll probably fall asleep during from being so relaxed. We highly recommend doing the bridges and La Fortuna waterfall tour. Our tour guide Hansel was so knowledgeable and had great photography skills. We got the best shots of the animals and if we didn’t have his guidance, we would have missed a lot of the wildlife. It is 500 step to get down to the waterfall, so wear your hiking boots and take your time. We were in awe of the waterfall and it was an extra treat to be able to swim in it. They do have areas to change prior to going down and showers so bringing a swim suit and a change of clothes after is no problem. Overall, we had the best experience and the people made it all the better with great hospitality. We cannot recommend this resort enough. We are already planning our next vacation to Nayara Tented Camps.

Nayara Tented Camp is absolutely unmatched. The quality of service, attention to detail and the property/rooms are absolutely incredible. We greatly appreciated them helping to celebrate our 11-year wedding anniversary with champagne, a kind note, and rose petals in our tent. When we left, they also gave us a sweet sloth stuffed animal to bring home to our daughter. Tana, our guest services manager was amazing and extremely kind as well as the waiters/waitresses, golf cart drivers, and pool attendants. It's located in a great location with close proximity to La Fortuna and adventure activities. The heated thermal plunge pool and the other pool/ thermal hot springs on the property were incredibly relaxing and the perfect temperature. My only regret is not staying longer! I will forever recommend this hotel to friends, family, and clients. Thank you, Nayara for an amazing stay!!
